Quest for the Crystal
Chapter 6
Demonoid Phenomenon Pt 2
Blood Brothers
“Tell me Scy, what is your greatest fear? To be alone? To be betrayed? To die? Or, to see Mary? You two have had quite a background. It doesn‘t matter now. Nothing matters. The world is gone, humanity has no hope. I will rule over everything! I will start with you, then to your so called gods. No one can stop me. No one could have stopped me. Not even that wretch of a knight Arcanine. Oh wait, you knew him don‘t you? He was protecting the crystal. Or, that‘s what he said. He was weak. He was a fool. I can see a resemblance, not only in appearance, but in personality. Yes, Scy, you truly are just like your father. He died at my hands. I killed him slowly, loving every moment. He screamed like a girl. He cried, begged for me to stop. I didn‘t, his blood covered my hands.”
“You bastard! You lie!”
“A bastard am I? Heh.”
“What did you do with my friends!?”
“Oh, them. They are dead. I killed them one by one. The only one left is you, your brother, and that girl of yours. But, it looks like she won’t be here for long...”
“What! What do you mean!? You said she was alive!”
“Well, she was a few hours ago...”
“DIE!!!!!!” Scy ran towards Entei, his sword aimed straight at his heart. Tears stung Scy’s eyes. He couldn’t believe it. They were dead, all of them. Sui, Typhlo, Flare, Tom, Kaz, Ces. He didn’t know some of them well, but he saw their sacrifices at the bar. They felt like family, his flesh and blood. No! He was lying! This is all a dream! All a trick! No! No! No! “Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!” Scy plowed the sword straight through the column behind Entei. Entei teleported, he was standing atop his throne.
“Why Scy... you know you can’t kill me that easily. Lets see if you are like your dad. Can you compare to the warrior that he was? I can give him credit for bravery. He fought to the end. He still was pathetic. Iron Head! Finish this insolent fly off!” The huge demon lumbered towards Scy. It reared back its head and let out a roar, the earth shook as it pounded its fists into the earth like a gorilla. Saliva dripped from the beast’s long curved fangs. Foreigner bounded towards the beast, he bit down on the soft flesh of its neck. It roared in pain. Foreigner sunk his teeth into the beasts arm and held on. The beast flung his arm hitting Foreigner on the head. The dog fell to the ground unconscious. The beast slowly walked towards Scy, its eyes were ablaze with anger, hate, pain, and hunger. It leapt into the air with surprising agility and landed behind Scy. Scy drew his sword and attempted an uppercut with his sword. The blade nicked the demon, the demon shrugged it off. A huge fist flew straight at Scy and slammed him into the ground. The air from his lungs escaped. The demon clawed at Scy, the scratches all over his body stung with pain. The crystal began to fade, its shine leaving. Scy saw the faint image of several knights. They were looking at him hopefully. Among them was Arcanine, his father. Scy and him met eyes, a tear dropped from Arcanine’s eye. Scy closed his eyes and prayed. He asked Articuno to give him strength, a feeling of numbness came over him. This was it, he thought. This is how it’s going to end. No, not like this. I didn’t even try. Articuno! Give me strength! Scy started to regain feeling, there was no more pain, he was fully healed. The demon was staring dumbly at him. With a rush of adrenaline, Scy jumped up and sliced the demon’s arm off. It howled in pain, it began to start on a rampage. It destroyed anything in its path. An arrow flew through the air and struck the demon in its other arm. Then, a small rush of fire, followed by a wave of fire hit the beast square in the chest. “Miss us?” Sui said reloading her bow. Flare, Typhlo, Kaz, and Ces stood behind her.
“You, Your, Your, alive?”
“Uhh last time I checked I was.”
“Entei said you were dead!”
“What do you expect from him?”
“Uhh guys, I think that we should stop talking.”
“Why?”
“Look over there” Flare pointed at the demon. It was officially pissed off. A one-armed, well cooked, skewered, soaked demon is a force not to be reckoned with. Blast and Venus ran up to the group. “Your finally awake,” Scy said happily, he hugged Venus and gave her a quick kiss. She stood there speechless. The demon let loose a spear of rock it broke out of the ground. It narrowly missed Scy by inches. That woke everybody up. Entei roared with laughter, “That’s it my pet. Skewer them! Make them suffer for your pain!” Entei teleported next to Venus and grabbed her. He swung her over his shoulder and disappeared. Venus’ screams could be heard as he teleported. “Scy! You and Blast go find Venus! We‘ll take care of the demon.” Scy hesitantly left with Blast.
There was a trail of blood from Entei’s throne. Blast and Scy followed it praying that the blood wasn’t Venus’. The trail led to a cave, a freakish blue light emitted from it. The brothers nodded at each other and went in. “Blast.”
“Yeah.”
“Did you hear what Entei said about our father?” Blast was quiet.
“Yes.”
“Do you think its true?”
“Mom said that dad was a knight, he protected the crystal. Dad wouldn‘t die like that. I bet he fought Entei ‘till the end.”
“Well, I pray that what he says is false.”
“Same here.” Silence. After a while the walls of the cave were decorated with skeletons. Bones from creatures were embedded in the walls. At the end of the tunnel were two things hanging. One was clearly seen, it was a human, his arms were shackled to the wall spread out. His body hung from the arms. His lower body was covered in the rock. A pendant was around its neck. Scy and Blast walked up to it and looked at the pendant. There was an engraving of the Crystal. On the back, was a picture. A picture that brought tears to the brothers’ eyes. It was a picture of a man with two kids. The two kids were Scy and Blast. The man was... their father. “Great Articuno.” Blast swore. Scy shakily took the pendant from the body. “Father...” Scy said. A moan escaped from the body chained next to him. It was Venus. She was hung in the same fashion as their father. Her legs weren’t in the walls though. Venus looks okay, although she had some bruises on her. “Blast, help me,” Scy said as he rushed to unchain her. Scy almost fell in a pool of water. A pool appeared around him. In the center of it Venus was chained. The water had several bridges leading to her. Spirits of people who have passed away floated in the water. A bright blue glow came from the spirits. There was a flash of lightning, Blast stood no more next to his brother. He was chained up next to Venus. “Well Scy. Looks like you found me.” Entei walked out from around a corner. His black cape dragged along the floor. “You want to save them don’t you?” he said motioning to Blast and Venus. Entei’s boots made a rhythmic beat, it echoed through the cave. “I’m not going to make it easy for you Scy. Lets see if you are the man your father was!” Entei threw his cape aside. He got in fighting stance. The two stared at each other. In the distance water dripped from the cave ceiling. “Draw!” Entei roared.
