Rundown Results:
Anubis/Stone b. Mayse/Huh
Zoe Alexander b. Allison Danger
Reno/Sydal/Delirious b. Nana/Surgeons
Eddie Crowe b. Joey Sprinklers
("Planet Hell" opening.)
David: We are coming to you from Baltimore, Maryland, here on Go Time as we count down the last three days until Ignition on pay-per-view. I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and tonight we'll see a big tag team encounter, as Bryan Danielson will team with Cynric against Nykk and Ronin Fox in a non-title match.
Dick: Plus in more tag team action, we'll see Triangle action as the Pyro Twins take on the Lee Brothers and the Surgeons.
David: And we'll hear from Eddie Crowe, Jamie Chan and a lot more is on tap for tonight.
("Pajamarama" hits and Huh and Joey Sprinklers make their way to the ring.)
David: Huh and Joey have a handicap match coming up against Eddie Crowe at Ignition, and Eddie stated last week that he doesn't need a partner to take these two out.
Dick: They've been running scared since they were fired from the House of Lords, but last week Alan Mayse managed to get their courage up, even if he did just use them to further his own agenda against Eddie.
("Hybrid Stigmata" hits and Delirious and Matt Sydal make their way to the ring.)
David: Delirious and Sydal are looking to get back in the saddle after losing the tag titles a month ago, and we understand that after what happened last week between Delirious and Prince Nana, they have been granted a match with the Surgeons at Ignition.
Dick: What a match that should be, and definitely important for future prospects in the tag team division.
(FINISH: Huh tries a moonsault on Sydal, but he gets to his feet. Huh lands on his feet and Sydal immediately climbs the turnbuckles and hits a moonsault on Huh. Joey breaks up the cover, but gets hit with BAM! from Delirious. Joey gets up in the corner, but Sydal hits him with a running knee strike as Delirious sweeps the legs of Huh and punts him in the face with a kick. He goes to the top rope, and Sydal and Delirious hit the Slice/Shadows Over Hell combo, and Sydal covers for the three count.)
Winners: Delirious and Matt Sydal
David: The former tag team champions pick up the victory and head strong into Ignition on Saturday.
Dick: Huh and Joey are so woefully inept as a team it's no wonder that Eddie feels like he doesn't need a partner. Still, the numbers game will be in the favor of Joey and Huh in Toronto.
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Shadow and Lisa Letty.)
Bill: Ladies, last week you dropped a tag team encounter to Mercedes Martinez and Heather Star, who pinned you, Shadow, to win that match.
Shadow: Bill, I'm concentrating on the finals of the Mixed Tag League right now. That's the only reason that Heather Star could ever pin my shoulders to the mat, and...
(Heather Star enters.)
Star: Shadow... if you truly believe that, you are mistaken. If you win at Ignition, you won't have to worry about vetoing Naomi Leach, because I'm coming to take that belt off you.
Shadow: I don't have the time or the patience to deal with you right now, Heather. You keep talking all the smack you want, but in the end you'll fall just like everyone else. So I'll tell you what... if you can get past Lisa tonight, I'll put the title on the line against you next week.
Star: I'll take you on any night, Lisa. But let's do this next. I don't have any patience right now either. I want my title shot.
(Heather exits.)
Shadow: Lisa, no matter what, I want her taken out. I don't even want her to be able to compete next week, even if she does beat you.
Lisa: She won't. But don't worry about a thing; she won't be bothering us again anytime soon.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Serve the Shame" hits and Lisa Letty makes her way to the ring.)
David: This challenge was laid out before the break. Heather Star wants her title shot, but to get it she has to beat Lisa Letty right now.
Dick: That's a tough thing to do. Lisa is a former three-time Ladies' Champion and the First Lady of MECCA.
("Dance Commander" hits and Heather Star makes her way to the ring.)
David: Heather Star is confident in her ability to defeat Lisa and Shadow, but she'll have to do both if she wants the Ladies' Championship.
Dick: If she can win it next week, the veto stipulation should Shadow win at Ignition will no longer apply, as she won't be a champion any longer.
(FINISH: Lisa tries to apply the Letty Stretch, but Heather gets to her feet and takes Lisa over, bridging for a two count. Lisa beats her to her feet and hits a clothesline. She whips Star into the ropes, but gets a spinning heel kick. She puts Lisa on her shoulders for Greetings from Heaven, but Lisa escapes and takes her over with her leg, straddling her for a close two count. Heather gives Lisa a jawbreaker and whips her into the corner. She charges, but Lisa gets a boot up. She goes to the second turnbuckle and tries a bulldog, but Heather spins her around and counters with a back suplex. She hooks Lisa's arms with a rolling clutch and takes her over, getting a three count.)
Winner: Heather Star
David: Star has done it, and what craftiness shown by our new number one contender!
Dick: Lisa was caught completely by surprise. Hopefully Heather has a few more tricks up her sleeve for Shadow next week.
(As Heather celebrates, Lisa attacks from behind with a forearm. She picks Heather up and gives her a piledriver. She grabs Heather's hair and lets her know she's not done yet. She delivers the Clockstopper, dumping Heather right on her head. Officials come out and get Lisa away from her.)
David: What a blatant attack by Lisa Letty, jumping Heather from behind. She's hurt bad.
Dick: She's clutching at her neck, and we know that Shadow likes to finish off her opponents with a Dragon Sleeper. It's obvious what the intent here was.
David: We'll be back with Danielson and Cynric against Nykk and Fox, but right now Bill Bicknell is with Jamie Chan.
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Jamie Chan.)
Bill: Jamie, in a few days you step into the ring with Kevin Stone, but as we found out last week, it will be Anything Goes. Are you really prepared to face the MECCA Monster in this type of environment?
Chan: Prepared? I relish the fact that Stone wants no holds barred rules in this match. You see, twice now I've taken him out with a kendo stick and now I can do it again and win the match in the process. Stone, you don't know what you're getting into with the Chan-Man, and at Ignition I will prove that I belong among the elite of MECCA when I have you begging for mercy... if you're still conscious, that is.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Third Reich from the Sun" hits and Nykk and Ronin Fox make their way to the ring.)
David: It's time for our featured tag team contest, as the MECCA Tag Team Champions make their presence known here in Baltimore.
Dick: Nykk has a big match coming up this Saturday against Bryan Danielson, and of course Fox is in the finals of the Mixed Tag League, so the belts will not be on the line at Ignition either.
("The Final Countdown" hits and Bryan Danielson and Cynric make their way to the ring.)
David: I talked to the World Champion earlier, and he seemed impressed that Cynric would stand up to his former employer the way he has, and that's why he agreed to team with him tonight.
Dick: This match is non-title, since Danielson and Cynric have no track record as a team, but maybe if they get a victory tonight that will be enough to earn one.
(FINISH: Danielson applies the Crossface Chickenwing on Fox, but Nykk hits him with a leg lariat from behind to force him to release the hold. He walks right into a thrust kick from Cynric, who moves in with several other kicks, but Nykk backs away and slides out of the ring. Cynric sees his brother on one knee, and gives him the Lift Off. Danielson immediately pounces, hitting Fox with his lethal elbows. Before the ref can call for the bell, Danielson lets up and applies Cattle Mutilation. Cynric keeps Nykk at bay, and Fox taps out.)
Winners: Bryan Danielson and Cynric
David: Danielson and Cynric win over the more experienced team, and maybe we'll have new number one contenders sooner than we think.
Dick: The House of Lords is losing ground fast, and they had better pray for at least one victory at Ignition.
(Backstage, Anubis and Alan Mayse are arguing back by catering.)
Alan: Listen, Khufu, I don't share my title shots with anyone, you hear? That's my title your partner's got, I made it, and I want it back.
Anubis: You can want all you like, but at Ignition that belt's coming home with me. It's a MECCA title, not an Alan Mayse title. You think anyone's going to be able to take that belt from me? I can't think of a more deserving champion.
Alan: Then why don't we find out who is more deserving right here tonight? Meet me in the main event.
Anubis: Face you, the guy who can't buy a win recently? You're on. The main event it is.
Alan: Yeah, we'll just see who's on the losing end after tonight. What will that make you if you can't beat me? Bring it on. I'm through screwing around.
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Eddie Crowe.)
Bill: Eddie, last week you requested a match with both Joey Sprinklers and Huh at Ignition but stated you don't need a partner. And while you valiantly fought off both men last week, how do you plan to deal with the numbers being against you on Saturday?
Eddie: First of all, Alan Mayse, I know it was you who put them up to attacking me last week. And after my business with them is finished, I will deal with you as well. But Bill, I don't need a partner against Joey and Huh because my name is Eddie Crowe. I have the longest MECCA Championship reign in our three year history; I made that title a World Title. Huh and Joey have no idea what they're in for, and win or lose, my plan is to hurt them in every possible way. I couldn't be in the ring at End of the Line to help MECCA when it was at its greatest need because of them, and that's something I just won't let slide. But after I'm through with them, Mayse, you and I are finally going to have at it like we should have done when we were both champions. And also, once again I plan on climbing to the top and going after the winner of Nykk vs. Danielson. I will get my title back, and I will continue to fight until I get it, until there's no breath left in me to do so.
(In the arena, "Lava" hits and the Surgeons make their way to the ring, with Prince Nana.)
David: The Surgeons are out here with their new manager, Prince Nana, who helped them get a victory over the Killer Kanines a couple weeks back.
Dick: This is going to be an important Triangle Tag Match, and could have big ramifications on the title picture in the near future.
("The Way I Am" hits and Austin and Tristan Lee make their way to the ring.)
David: We've seen the Lee Brothers work well together in the past, and if Austin can win the Mixed Tag League at Ignition, he may use his title shot to go after Nykk and Fox, rather than the World Title.
Dick: That's what Delirious did when everyone thought he would choose a World Title match, and he was successful with his partner Matt Sydal.
("Burning Times" hits and the Pyro Twins make their way to the ring.)
David: Jay and Dusty have a big match with the Briscoes coming up, and should they win tonight as well, they would have to be considered top contenders for the tag titles even if their friends do currently hold them.
Dick: Would the Pyro Twins take a shot if they were offered one? We've seen how loyal to Nykk they are.
(FINISH: The Surgeons hit the Human Error on Tristan, but Austin springboards in with a double clothesline and takes them both down. The Pyro Twins pounce on Austin and whip him into the ropes, but Austin hits them both with a double flying kick. Stryker knees him from behind to send him to the floor and then goes over the top with a pescado onto him. Walters picks Tristan up and goes for the Hurricane DDT, but Tristan escapes and executes a rolling clutch. Walters kicks out and sends Tristan right into Final Darkness from the Pyro Twins. Jay covers while Dusty tosses Walters out of the ring, and they get the three count.)
Winners: The Pyro Twins
David: What a victory for the Pyro Twins, as they head into Ignition to face the Briscoes.
Dick: Jay and Dusty are one of the best tag teams in the world, if not the best. We'll find out this Saturday.
David: We'll be right back with our main event as Anubis takes on Alan Mayse... wait, I think we've got something going on in the back...
(Backstage, Naomi Leach is lying on the ground bleeding as Shadow stands over her with a chair.)
Shadow: Where's your buddy Austin, Naomi? Where is he? You won't be able to win the Mixed Tag League. The House of Lords won't let you! And when I have my title option, you'll never get a shot at my belt.
(Officials arrive to pull Shadow away, but she picks up the chair and wings at them, and they duck as it smacks into the wall, and Shadow just walks away.)
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, the Briscoes have the attention of the camera.)
Jay: Pyro Twins, you boys signed your death warrant when you cost us the MECCA Tag Team Titles last week. You punks have been lucky so far, but after this Saturday, there will be no doubt that the Briscoes are the best team in the world.
Mark: You wanna interfere in our matches, boys? Go ahead, man up and bring your punk asses to Toronto. We'll stuff you in body bags and float you back across Lake Erie. And after that, Nykk and Fox, you two have something that belongs to us. House of Lords. Pfft.
Jay: That's all there is to it. Man up.
(In the arena, "This is Not My Life" hits and Alan Mayse makes his way to the ring.)
David: It's main event time, and Alan Mayse is looking to break his recent losing streak, but he has quite the task ahead of him.
Dick: He'll be going for the Toughman Title this Saturday, along with Anubis in a Triangle Match, but of course neither man want the other in it.
("Kobrakai" hits and Anubis makes his way to the ring.)
David: Anubis wants that singles glory, and he's not afraid to go after his own partner to get it, but Alan stands in the way of that as well.
Dick: He's a former Toughman Champion, and no one has quite been able to equal the reign he had yet. Not to be forgotten is the champ himself, the Wild Wolf, who has turned back every challenge since winning the belt in October.
(FINISH: Alan blocks the Ankh Smash and kicks Anubis. He goes for the Tiger Bomb, but Anubis backdrops him. Alan tries a sunset flip, but Anubis slams Alan's head down and drops a big elbow, covering for a two count. He signals that it's over and goes for the Sarcophagus, but Alan escapes and gets a waistlock. Anubis reverses, and Alan drops down. Anubis picks him up wheelbarrow style, but Alan rolls through with a victory roll, segueing right into the Ankle Breaker. Anubis fights it, but is forced to tap out.)
Winner: Alan Mayse
David: I can't believe that! Alan just made Anubis tap to that new Ankle Breaker of his!
Dick: Can you imagine the pain that move must cause if it forced a guy like Anubis to tap after a such a short period of time?
David: We may be looking at our new Toughman Champion at Ignition if Alan can cinch in that hold. We'll see you in Toronto, fans!
