Rundown Results:
Mercedes Martinez b. Daizee Haze
Delirious b. Dreamo, Anubis
Del Rey/Wesna b. Chandler/Alexander
Bryan Danielson b. Joey Sprinklers
("Neocon" opening.)
David: Welcome to Go Time, fans, as MECCA makes its way back to the States here in Miami, Florida! I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and tonight the qualifying continues for Eight-Man Throwdown. On Rundown, we saw Delirious qualify after pinning Dreamo in that Triangle Match, and last week we saw Alan Mayse qualify, as well as Andy Nathans and Jack Fletcher of the UK Wrecking Crew. But Tristan Lee won't be left out, as tonight he has a qualifying match against the Human Tornado.
Dick: And one half of the singles series between the Killer Kanines and the Pyro Twins will take place as Dusty Schneble battles the Wild Wolf.
David: Plus much more MECCA action, including a six-woman tag right now!
("TKO" hits and Zoe Alexander, Nikki Chandler and Mercedes Martinez make their way to the ring.)
David: We're of course familiar with Chandler, part of the UKWC, and Alexander, formerly a "starlet" in the David Caldwell Project, but we just saw Martinez debut on Rundown, where she defeated Daizee Haze.
Dick: A very talented competitor out of the northeast, Martinez could be a force here in the ladies' division of MECCA.
("Alcoholocaust" hits and Sara Del Rey, Heather Star and Daizee Haze make their way to the ring.)
David: The American Angel Sara Del Rey, Heavenly Heather Star and Daizee Haze are ready for action right here tonight.
Dick: All six of these ladies are looking to move up in the rankings, and this will be a good way to showcase their talents all at once.
(FINISH: Martinez hits a fisherwoman's buster on Del Rey and goes for the pin, but the ref tells her that Daizee is the legal woman. Meanwhile, Alexander and Chandler beat up Star on the floor, but Daizee goes to the top rope and takes out the two of them with a plancha. Martinez comes out and rolls her back into the ring. She goes for another fisherwoman's buster on Daizee, but she escapes and nails Mercedes with the Heart Punch. She follows up with the Mind Trip and covers for the three count.)
Winner: Daizee Haze
David: Daizee gets some payback for her defeat on Rundown, and what a great way to kick off the show tonight.
Dick: Daizee can certainly be looked at as a future challenger for the Ladies' Title if she can get a shot against Lisa Letty.
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is with the Pyro Twins.)
Bill: Jay, Dusty, tonight the singles series against the Killer Kanines begins as you, Dusty, take on the Wild Wolf. Do you hope that these matches will help you prepare for your opponents at Punked Out?
Dusty: There's no question that the...
(Someone walks up just out of camera range and a hand is seen motioning for the camera to be cut off.)
Dusty: What do you want?
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Kobrakai" hits and the Wild Wolf makes his way to the ring.)
David: We're ready to start the singles series between the two teams who will meet for the belts at Punked Out, the Killer Kanines and the Pyro Twins.
Dick: The Wild Wolf is not as experienced in a singles environment as Dusty, so it should be interesting to see who comes out on top in this battle of tag team specialists.
("Burning Times" hits and Dusty Schneble makes his way to the ring.)
David: Dusty looks focused, but who was it that cut off the camera as he was beginning his promo?
Dick: I don't know, but whatever business they had must have been conducted quickly if he's out here now.
(FINISH: The Wild Wolf goes for the Twig Snap, but Dusty counters with a powerbomb and folding press for a two count. Dusty goes for a back suplex, but Wolf lands on his feet behind him and puts him in a full nelson, driving him face first into the mat. He goes for the Kanine Kruncher, but Dusty kicks him off into the ropes. He quickly gets up and hits the Rope Burn and covers for the three count.)
Winner: Dusty Schneble
David: The Pyro Twins are one up against the Killer Kanines. An impressive victory by Dusty.
Dick: No doubt, the Pyro Twins are looking sharp and are dead set on regaining the tag titles.
David: Up next, the American Dragon will be here on Go Time. Bryan Danielson takes on Joey Sprinklers of the House of Lords!
(Backstage, Joey Sprinklers is warming up and Nykk is pacing back and forth behind him.)
Nykk: More squats, damn it! I will not have you embarrass me again while you're in the ring with Danielson, of all people. Now what are you going to do out there?
Joey: Win!
Nykk: No! You are out there to soften up Danielson. You will report back to me any weaknesses, you will damage him and injure him any way you can, even if it costs you the victory.
Joey: Right, I'm gonna break his knees!
Nykk: No! If you do that, he's out for Punked Out, and I want the satisfaction of beating him two falls straight. Do not be a disgrace like you usually are. I want you back here with your hands raised in victory.
Joey: I thought I was supposta hurt him, not win.
Nykk: Exactly! You will hurt him, but not enough to take him out, and you won't be in there to win, unless you find that you can.
Joey: I'm so confused.
(Huh enters.)
Huh: Nykk. Nykk... Nykk... Nykk, Nykk. Nykk...
Nykk: WHAT?
Huh: Listen, I know I really blew it out there against Low Ki last week. But I want another shot at him. I hear he has an open challenge directed at us for Punked Out, and I was wondering...
Joey: No way! I'm the former champ, and I'm regainin' my belt! Ki's mine at Punked Out!
Nykk: Shut up, both of you. You both had your chances and you were an embarrassment. I know about Low Ki's challenge, and my Chief Assassin is going to take care of him at Punked Out. He'll defend the title against Cynric at the PPV.
Huh: Aw...
Nykk: Besides, I have other plans for you. Don't ask me how, but somehow Eddie Crowe got his name into the qualifiers for Eight-Man Throwdown. I will not have him getting another shot at Fox, so we're going to stop him. Tonight, in the main event, you and I will take on Eddie Crowe in tag team action.
Huh: Who's his partner?
Nykk: You know, I don't even really care. This is another double or nothing tag match. The winners will advance to Eight-Man Throwdown and...
Huh: Don't you have Danielson at Punked Out?
Nykk: Yes, Huh. And he is going to be hurt, thanks to Joey, and besides, our goal is not to win it is to control this whole thing so that we decide who challenges Fox at Summertime Showdown... and by 'we,' I mean me. Now come on, we have some preparing to do. Joey, kill.
(Nykk walks away, but Joey is too exhausted from doing all the squats to do anything except wave.)
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Gail Kim.)
Bill: I'm here with the holder of the Women's World Cup, Gail Kim. Gail, at Punked Out you have the opportunity to regain the very title you lost a year ago. How important is this title match, and are you ready to perhaps be Ladies' Champion once again?
Gail: This is the most important thing to me in the world right now, Bill. I held that title longer than anyone, and though I may have not always used the most noble methods to hold onto it, I always took being champion very seriously and it has been a highlight of my career. That's why I'm not too thrilled to see Lisa doing some of the same things I was doing as champ. Lisa, you used to be honorable, you used to have integrity, but now you're just another punk to me, and a stepping stone into regaining my rightful position in MECCA. You'd better be prepared come June 30, because that's when you get Punked Out and I hold my title high overhead.
(In the arena, "Hit That" hits and Joey Sprinklers makes his way to the ring.)
David: We're set for singles action, and Joey Sprinklers seems to have been instructed to soften up Danielson for Nykk.
Dick: It's your classic policeman situation, but I think Joey may have flunked out of the academy.
("The Final Countdown" hits and Bryan Danielson makes his way to the ring.)
David: Bryan Danielson is adamant that he is going to win this Two out of Three Falls Match against Nykk and prove that he is what he says he is, the best wrestler in the world.
Dick: Danielson realizes that not only is this a big match in his MECCA career, it's a stepping stone to getting a title shot against Ronin Fox.
(FINISH: Joey goes for a shirunai, but Danielson throws him off and hits a roaring elbow. He gives Joey a Regalplex for a two count, and then starts hitting Joey with elbows. As the ref signals for the bell, Danielson stops and grabs his arm, telling him to wait. He picks up Joey and rolls him up with a small package, getting the three count.)
Winner: Bryan Danielson
David: Danielson was just playing with Joey, who couldn't really amount any real offense on him and certainly doesn't look like he damaged the American Dragon in any way.
Dick: Joining the House of Lords certainly has been a curse for Joey. First he lost his title, and now he's losing every single match.
(As Joey is helped from the ring, Danielson holds up two of his fingers and yells "Two straight" to the crowd.)
David: When we come back, Tristan Lee takes on the Human Tornado, with the winner going on to Eight-Man Throwdown!
(Backstage, Low Ki is walking down a hallway when he passes Cynric.)
Cynric: Hey, good luck on June 30. I'll be taking that belt and your pride and leaving you a broken shell of a man, but good luck anyway.
Low Ki: What did you say?
Cynric: You heard me.
Low Ki: If it's one thing I can't stand about you and the House of Lords, it's your lack of respect. My aim is to bring respect back to this title. But I'm wasting my time in talking to a man who obviously doesn't even have self-respect, and is stuck being a flunky for someone else.
(Ki turns and walks away, but Cynric blindsides him. Ki tries to fight back, but Cynric rams him into a wall and then lands some roundhouse kicks to the midsection. Ki doubles over, and Cynric kicks his head into the wooden wall, which breaks on impact. Ki slumps to the floor.)
Cynric: How's that for self-respect? It might as well be June 30 already, because that's exactly what's going to happen.
(Cynric walks away.)
(Commercial Break)
(Back from the break, Low Ki is being loaded into a medic outside the arena. Kevin Stone is there to see his ally off and making sure the paramedics don't bump him.)
(In the arena, "Cool" hits and the Human Tornado makes his way to the ring.)
David: What an ass Cynric is, blindsiding his opponent for Punked Out. Now Low Ki's on his way to a medical facility thanks to the House of Lords.
Dick: It seems to be their goal to eliminated their competition before they even get to Punked Out. Low Ki just may have been, but Joey wasn't so successful earlier against Bryan Danielson.
("Ballroom Blitz" hits and Tristan Lee makes his way to the ring.)
David: The youngest member of the UK Wrecking Crew has a chance to qualify for Eight-Man Throwdown right here, and the winner of this match will join Alan Mayse, Andy Nathans, Jack Fletcher and Delirious at Punked Out.
Dick: I can't wait for that match. It is going to be wild.
(FINISH: Lee catches a superkick from Tornado and throws his foot away, but Tornado spins around with an enzugiri. He whips Lee into the corner and hits a spinning avalanche, followed by a bulldog. He sets Lee up for DATNIGGADEAD, but Lee counters with a reverse DDT. He picks Tornado up and hits the Degnerate Driver, covering for the three count.)
Winner: Tristan Lee
David: Tristan Lee is going to Punked Out and will join his friends Andy Nathans and Jack Fletcher in Eight-Man Throwdown.
Dick: Can you imagine if the entire UK Wrecking Crew ended up on one team? That team would have the clear advantage.
David: Up next, another qualifying match and our main event of the evening. It's double or nothing as Nykk and Huh take on Eddie Crowe and a partner yet to be named!
(Commercial Break)
(In the locker room, Lisa Letty is watching a monitor, which is playing her match against Gail Kim from No Regrets 2005. Shadow comes in.)
Shadow: Lisa!
Lisa: What?
Shadow: I need to talk to you. What the hell is up with you just leaving me hanging last week? I could have been seriously hurt out there with Gail and Kelly. I'd better get my title shot, because I more than earned...
Lisa: Leave me alone! I have other things to worry about right now.
(Lisa leaves the locker room just as Kim wins on the monitor.)
(In the arena, "Destroy" hits and Nykk and Huh make their way to the ring.)
David: It's time for our main event, and it's double or nothing as Nykk and Huh attempt to qualify for Eight-Man Throwdown.
Dick: The House of Lords desperately wants any members it can in that match, and they want to keep Eddie Crowe out of it even more.
("Noots" hits and Eddie Crowe makes his way onto the stage with a microphone.)
Eddie: Nykk, I hate to disappoint you, but here's what's going to happen. I'm going to win this match tonight, and I'm going on to win Eight-Man Throwdown, and then I'm going to regain my title at Summertime Showdown and continue my reign atop MECCA. I don't care how much power you have, you cannot hold me back! But for right now, I need a partner. And I've asked one of the best up-and-coming athletes out there right now to do this with me, and he eagerly accepted. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Matt Sydal!
("Clavicle" hits and Matt Sydal makes his way out. He and Eddie charge the ring and the match begins.)
(FINISH: Sydal hits a twisting moonsault dive onto Huh on the outside as Nykk and Eddie battle in the ring. Eddie goes for the Backslide Bomb, but Nykk lands on his feet and tries the Trinity. He hits the back suplex and the German, but Eddie blocks the dragon and hits a standing enzugiri. He bounces off the ropes, but Nykk hits a running leg lariat. Sydal springboards in, but Nykk hits him with another leg lariat. He goes to the top rope, but Eddie goes to the apron and pushes Nykk off. He somersaults right into the Slice from Sydal. Eddie goes to the top rope, but Huh gets on the apron and pushes him to the floor. Huh goes to the top rope himself, and Nykk gets on all fours close to the corner. Sydal uses Nykk to springboard up and knee Huh in the midsection. Huh gets crotched, and Sydal comes down with a double stomp on Nykk's back. Sydal goes back up and gives Huh the Cyclorama, followed by a springboard 450 from Eddie, who covers for the pin.)
Winners: Eddie Crowe and Matt Sydal
David: Eddie and Sydal are going to Eight-Man Throwdown, and they did it with a win over the boss himself!
Dick: If anything, tonight has shown the House of Lords is not invincible, and plans can go awry.
David: We'll see you next week right back here on Go Time, fans!
