("Neocon" opening.)
Skippy: We are here in Detroit, Michigan, and welcome to Go Time, as presented by MECCA! I'm Skippy, along with Dick Broccoli, and tonight we will see one last title defense by the World Champ Eddie Crowe before his MECCA Challenge III defense against Ronin Fox in New York City.
Dick: But that's not the only title defense tonight, as Katie Piehl has granted the Killer Kanines one more rematch for the tag titles, as they take on the CDT.
Skippy: It's back to the bottom for them if they come up short tonight, and we'll also have a special ladies' challenge, as Daizee Haze wants some payback on Rebecca Knox for what happened in the semi-finals of the Women's World Cup.
("Noots" hits and Eddie Crowe makes his way to the ring.)
Skippy: The MECCA World Champion is back after missing Melee this Saturday due to a tour of England, where he solidified his title's status as a World Title.
Dick: Ronin Fox, Cynric and Alan Mayse were also overseas, and all four of these competitors are here tonight.
(Eddie gets a mic.)
Eddie: To all you great fans in Detroit, thank you very much for that reaction! It's reasons like this why I love being MECCA World Champion. And in fact, I don't plan on that to end anytime soon. Not tonight, not at the MECCA Challenge III, and not for the foreseeable future. Fox, you can complain about not getting a fair shake in our previous matches all you want, but what truly separates the great competitors from the good ones is the ability to achieve their goals. Your goal was to be MECCA World Champion. My goal was to keep the belt. So you know who really won? Me. And at the MECCA Challenge III, right in the heart of New York City, I erase any doubts the fans may have, and more importantly, any doubts that you may have that I'm the best. It's only a matter of time until...
("Afternoon Delight" hits and David Caldwell makes his way to the ring.)
Skippy: Happy day, David Caldwell is out here now. The David Caldwell Project did go 3-1 against the competitors of MECCA at Melee, with Bryan Danielson beating Nykk, the CDT beating Tornado and Delirious and Huh beating Kevin Stone. The only loss was the failed attempt of Zoe Alexander to claim the Ladies' Title.
Dick: You know Caldwell has to be flying high right now, but I wonder why he's out here.
Caldwell: That's a real nice sentiment, champ, but you've got problems other than Ronin Fox. When I began this transformation, this metamorphosis from MECCA to David Caldwell Sports Entertainment, I expected the MECCA Champion of all people to get on board with the boss. But you actually tried to thwart me! So you leave me no other choice than to take that title from you and put it in the camp where it really belongs. Since Katie Piehl is making my guys defend their belts later on, I've decided that I'm taking this title match and giving it to one of my guys. Therefore, tonight in the main event you are going to defend that World Title against the man who beat Kevin Stone at Melee, the one and only Huh!
Skippy: Wow, Huh has certainly been on fire recently, but I never expected that he would challenge for the title tonight.
Dick: That should be an interesting match, as you look back and think that Huh would never stand a chance against the likes of Nykk or Kevin Stone. Yet he's beaten them both. Could we have a new MECCA Champion tonight?
Caldwell: And when Huh wins the belt, I will then hand it over to my main man, the best entertainer in the world, Mr. Bryan Danielson!
(Caldwell leaves.)
Skippy: Just hand the belt over. How cheap is that?
Eddie: That's fine if you want me to defend against Huh, Caldwell. Because I admit, I haven't been able to throw my heart fully into this war with sports entertainment because as champion, I have other responsibilities and demands on my time. But tonight, I will gladly do my part and destroy Huh right in the middle of this ring. Because I am Eddie Crowe. I am the Harbinger of Sorrow. I am the MECCA Champion, and I won't let anyone down.
("Noots" plays and Eddie Crowe exits the ring.)
Skippy: Eddie Crowe defends against Huh in tonight's main event, and when we come back, Ronin Fox and Cynric will be in tag team action.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Soul Creation" hits and Ronin Fox and Cynric make their way to the ring.)
Skippy: Ronin Fox has been on a roll recently, as he's been riding a wave of momentum ever since he won the Six Man Apocalypse. He plans to carry that momentum all the way to the MECCA Challenge III and win the World Title.
Dick: I can't wait for that match, as even though their previous encounters were marred by indecisive finishes, both were Match of the Year candidates.
("Cool" hits and the Human Tornado and Delirious make their way to the ring.)
Skippy: Tornado and Delirious came up short against the CDT for the tag titles in a hard fought match this past Saturday, and in fact it was the first title defense the CDT has actually won since gaining the titles.
Dick: They have a chance to keep in contention right here with a victory over two former tag team champs.
(FINISH: Delirious hits Shadows Over Hell on Cynric, but before he can cover, Fox hits him with a reverse elbow from the top. He gives Delirious a curb stomp onto Cynric's knees. Tornado tries to make the save, but Fox catches him with a Tail End. He puts Delirious on his shoulders and Cynric goes to the outside. He hits a springboard Lift Off on Delirious and covers for the three count.)
Winners: Ronin Fox and Cynric
Skippy: Ronin Fox and Cynric pick up the victory, but a nice effort from Delirious and Tornado nonetheless.
Dick: Those two weirdoes can go back to the drawing board, as far as I'm concerned.
(Fox gets a mic as Cynric nails Tornado with a roundhouse kick to the head as he's checking on Delirious. He stands on Tornado's throat.)
Fox: You see, this is the kind of carnage you can expect from Ronin Fox when the time comes for the MECCA Challenge III. Eddie, I heard what you said earlier, and don't think you won't pay for it. I'll be...
(Delirious throws a chair into the ring and Fox quickly slides out. Cynric charges Delirious, but he ducks a clothesline and sends Cynric into the corner. He kicks Cynric's legs out from under him and grabs the chair, hitting the Panic Attack on Cynric's head with it.)
Skippy: Delirious isn't going to let Fox and Cynric humiliate him and his partner like that. He just took down Cynric!
Dick: I'm not sure this is a path Delirious wants to go down. Cynric can be very dangerous when he chooses.
Skippy: Up next, Rebecca Knox will take on Daizee Haze!
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with John Walters.)
Bill: I'm here with John Walters, one half of the Surgeons, and I understand you have a message for one Joey Sprinklers.
Walters: That's right. Joey... you go around calling yourself a Toughman Champion, yet at Melee you once again cheated, this time screwing over my partner Matt Stryker. Well, watching that made me so mad that I've decided to do something about it. Next week, Joey, I'm coming after that Toughman Title, and there won't be any low blows or fake chair shots to help you this time. I'm going to achieve one of my goals here in MECCA, and that's to win gold and prove myself as the toughest of the tough. And I get to achieve both of those goals at the same time next week.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Sensi" hits and Daizee Haze makes her way to the ring.)
Skippy: Daizee Haze came so close to being in the finals of the Women's World Cup, but it was thanks to the cheating ways of her opponent tonight that knocked her out of the upper brackets. And then, she rebounded in the lower brackets, but was stopped by Canada's Gail Kim.
Dick: She's definitely out for some payback tonight, and the fans get another tremendous match between these two.
("Shadows of the Night" hits and Rebecca Knox makes her way to the ring.)
Skippy: That screeching can only mean one thing, and that's the Irish Rebecca Knox is in the house.
Dick: She's been undefeated in the Women's World Cup, winning the upper brackets and gaining a spot in the finals at the MECCA Challenge III, where she'll face Gail Kim.
(FINISH: Knox sends Daizee down with a running kick and then goes for the Falcon Arrow. Daizee counters with an inside cradle and gets a close two count. Even Knox has to make sure it was a two count, which allows Daizee to give her a Yakuza Kick. She covers, but Knox gets a foot over the bottom rope. Frustrated, Daizee pulls her up and calls for a heart punch. Knox headbutts Daizee and gives her a t-bone suplex. She picks her up and hits the Falcon Arrow, covering for the three count.)
Winner: Rebecca Knox
Skippy: K-nox has defeated Daizee once again, and she just proved that she doesn't need to cheat to obtain victories.
Dick: Rebecca Knox is certainly one of the most talented female competitors out there, and she proved why tonight.
Skippy: Up next, we have our tag title match as the Killer Kanines get one more shot against the CDT!
(In the catering area, Katie Piehl is complimenting the chef when Shadow enters.)
Shadow: Katie...
Katie: Let me guess. Where's my title shot, I was never beaten, title shot, title shot, oh god where's my title shot?
Shadow: No... well, yeah. I want to know when I get my hands on Kelly Schweickart. I would have beaten her right in the middle of the ring last week. My Interceptor knocked her out. She was down for the count, but I had the pin stolen from me. Now that Alexander's out of the picture, that only leaves me, and I want my title back.
Katie: You have a good argument, but I would hardly call it your title. Kelly's been building up a pretty respectable reign so far. But I'll think about it.
Shadow: I just want to know when...
Katie: I said I'll think about it.
(Shadow leaves in a huff.)
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Kobrakai" hits and the Killer Kanines make their way to the ring.)
Skippy: Still to come tonight, Eddie Crowe defends the MECCA World Title against Huh, but right now the David Caldwell Project puts their tag titles on the line, as the challengers make their way to ringside.
Dick: The Killer Kanines still feel ripped off at the way they lost the belts, and the CDT have not been what you would call honorable champions. This is their last opportunity to regain the belts as long as the CDT hold them.
("Sweet Dreams" hits and the CDT make their way to the ring, along with David Caldwell and Medea Knight.)
Skippy: The CDT have both their managers out here tonight, and you know that means they plan to run as much interference as possible to keep the belts away from the Kanines. Hopefully we won't have to look at those ridiculous spinning belts after tonight, but the odds are definitely stacked against Anubis and the Wild Wolf.
Dick: David Caldwell introduced these spinning belts when the CDT won the titles, and I get the feeling that's just one of the changes he has in mind if the Project gets their hands on more gold.
(FINISH: The CDT go for the Nocturnal Emission on Wolf, but Anubis intercepts CB with a spinebuster and Wolf gives Dreamo a reverse rana. Anubis turns Dreamo inside out with the Ankh Smash, and Wolf crawls over to make the cover. CB tries to break it up with a 450 kneedrop, but Wolf moves and CB nails his partner. Anubis picks CB up in a military press and heaves him into the crowd as Wolf makes the cover again and gets the three count.)
Winners: The Killer Kanines
Skippy: We have new MECCA Tag Team Champions, and Caldwell and Knight didn't even get a chance to interfere!
Dick: The Kanines came back with such a flurry of offense that the CDT didn't stand a chance.
(As the Kanines celebrate, Dreamo comes in with a chair and cracks Wolf across the back. He nails Anubis in the head as CB comes back out of the crowd. They lay into the Kanines with stomps as Caldwell joins in. The Kanines attempt to get back up, and suddenly Medea kneels down and deals double low blows to both Dreamo and CB. Caldwell runs away as the Kanines get back to their feet. Anubis powerbombs CB, and Wolf clotheslines Dreamo. The Kanines share a hug with Medea and she raises their arms.)
Skippy: Wait a minute, it looks like we have a new alliance here, as Medea Knight has jumped ship from the David Caldwell Project!
Dick: She's helping out the Kanines after months of being mistreated and demeaned by Caldwell!
("Kobrakai" starts to play, but Caldwell motions to the back, and Jamie Chan and Bryan Danielson run down. They attack the Kanines from behind and Medea quickly exits the ring. Danielson picks up the chair and cracks it across Anubis's back, causing him to fall through the ropes. He and Chan then give Wolf a tiger suplex/spin kick combo as Caldwell helps the hurt CDT to the back. However, Nykk and Alan Mayse come in through the crowd, but Danielson and Chan bail out of the ring. Nykk gets a mic.)
Nykk: Danielson, believe me, this isn't over by a long shot. I'll admit it, you beat me in the middle of the ring on Saturday, but I know you're not going to accept a rematch tonight, just because of the fact that I want it. But I thought the people here in Detroit deserve to see us tangle. So I brought my good buddy Alan Mayse out here, and I figure we can make this a tag match. What do you and your Japanese pool boy say? Should we do this?
(Danielson gets a mic and looks like he's about to say something, but then slams it down and gives Nykk the finger. He and Chan start to leave, but find the Kanines blocking their path to the dressing room. Danielson and Chan back up toward the ring, and Nykk and Alan grab them and drag them in, and the ref calls for a bell.)
Skippy: We have an impromptu tag match, as Nykk and Alan Mayse are taking on Bryan Danielson and Jamie Chan of the David Caldwell Project. We have to go to commercial, but we'll be right back!
(Commercial Break)
(FINISH: Danielson lays into Alan's head with elbows, but Nykk hits him with a dropkick to knock him off and then lays into Danielson's head with knee strikes. He bounces off the ropes, but Chan pulls down the top rope and Nykk tumbles to the outside. Alan gives Danielson an exploder suplex and signals for the Tiger Bomb. He picks him up, but Danielson escapes and tries to apply Cattle Mutilation. Alan won't go down, and Danielson tries a tiger suplex as Nykk whips Chan into the guardrail on the outside. Alan blocks the suplex attempt, and Danielson switches gears and hits a dragon suplex instead. He turns Alan over and applies a modified Cattle Mutilation with a full nelson. Nykk tries to make the save, but Chan grabs him around the ankle. Nykk kicks at him to try and get him off, but Alan ends up tapping out.)
Winners: Bryan Danielson and Jamie Chan
Skippy: The American Dragon was just too much for former Toughman Champion Alan Mayse, and he had no choice but to tap out there.
Dick: Alan has not had a good time of it since losing the Toughman Title, and this is just going to add to his frustration right here.
(Danielson and Chan exit through the crowd as Nykk gets back in the ring to check on Alan.)
Skippy: Up next is our main event. Huh will challenge Eddie Crowe for the World Title when we come back!
(Backstage, the Pyro Twins barge into the locker room to find the Backseat Boyz.)
Kashmere: Whoa, guys, hold up...
Jay: We just wanted you two to know that yeah, we were in the ring with you on Saturday, and we know what you've got. And it isn't much. At the MECCA Challenge III, we finally get the chance to avenge the loss you gave us last November.
Acid: First of all, the Killer Kanines beat the UK Wrecking Crew at Melee. You did nothing to us.
Dusty: The only reason it wasn't your asses laid out in the ring was because you ran away before the match was over. We have all your tricks figured out now. And in New York City, we're going to bake the Big Apple, and you two will be at the center of the fire.
(The Pyro Twins leave. The Backseats shake hands.)
Kashmere: Awesome. They really think we're scared of them.
Acid: So much for thinking they've figured out all our tricks.
(Commercial Break)
(In the office, Katie Piehl is sitting at her desk with her head buried in her hands. There's a knock at the door and Lisa Letty enters.)
Lisa: Katie, I just thought I'd come by and... Katie, what's the matter?
(Katie sits up.)
Katie: Oh, it's just this whole battle for control with Caldwell is getting to me. And the board of directors is no help. Half of them seem to be with me and my vision of MECCA, and the others seem to sympathize with Caldwell. I'm just so tired of fighting, Lisa. Why did your boyfriend ever sell his share of MECCA?
Lisa: You made him, remember?
Katie: I know about that clause, but why Caldwell?
Lisa: You know, if you really want to regain control of things around here, there are other options available. But what do I know about hierarchies and politics?
Katie: At this point, I'm willing to listen to any ideas.
Lisa: Well, it's not without risk, but I had this idea the other day...
(Lisa shuts the door, shutting the cameraman out of the room.)
(In the arena, "Pajamarama" hits and Huh makes his way to the ring, along with David Caldwell.)
Skippy: It's time for the World Title match made earlier tonight, and Huh is Caldwell's last chance for gold, as his guys the CDT lost the tag team belts earlier tonight to the Killer Kanines.
Dick: But tonight just could be Huh's night. He's already gained victories over Nykk and Kevin Stone, and could walk away with it all here tonight, especially if Eddie underestimates him.
("Noots" hits and Eddie Crowe makes his way to the ring.)
Skippy: Should he get by Huh here tonight, Eddie has a tough battle ahead of him come the MECCA Challenge III in New York City, as Ronin Fox is riding a seemingly unstoppable wave of momentum.
Dick: But Eddie Crowe has been champion since the MECCA Challenge II last year. This is going to be a true clash on April 28.
Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Go Time main event! This contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the MECCA World Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first, the challenger... representing the David Caldwell Project... from Bellbrook, Ohio, and weighing in at 240 lbs... he is a former MECCA Tag Team Champion... Huuuuuuuh! And his opponent... also from Bellbrook, Ohio, and weighing in at 195 lbs... he is the current reigning and defending MECCA World Heavyweight Champion... Eddiiiie Crooooooowe!
(FINISH: Eddie goes for a running brainbuster, but Huh escapes. He gives Eddie a release German suplex and goes to the top rope. He hits a moonsault and covers, but Eddie manages to kick out at two. In disbelief, Huh stomps Eddie in the face and goes up for another moonsault. This time Eddie gets the knees up. Huh staggers over to a corner, and Eddie hits him with a charging dropkick. Huh tries to shake it off and goes for a big clothesline, but Eddie blocks it and hits the Backslide Bomb. He gives Huh a Gutwrench Driver, and then hits the Eddie Dive. He covers and gets the three count.)
Winner: Eddie Crowe
Skippy: One more successful title defense for Eddie right here in Detroit, and now he goes onto the MECCA Challenge III to defend against perhaps his toughest opponent throughout his reign, Ronin Fox!
Dick: Speaking of which!
(Fox runs down to the ring and gets behind Eddie. When he turns around, Fox hits him with the Tail End. He badmouths Eddie and then grabs the belt. He knocks Eddie out with it as he staggers to his feet and poses with the title.)
Skippy: Ronin Fox has just laid out the MECCA World Champion, and I've never seen Fox so focused in all my life. He realizes he's got a practically unstoppable champion in front of him, so he's doing whatever's necessary to ensure a victory.
Dick: Fox will do anything to be MECCA Champion, including blindsiding his opponent. And as we get closer to the MECCA Challenge, I can see Fox's tactics getting more and more vicious.
Skippy: That's all for this week, fans. Be sure to join us for Go Time next week in Lansing!
