Go Time: 1/3/07

Chicago, IL

("Neocon" opening.)

(In the arena, "I've Got the Power" is playing, and Katie Piehl is in the ring with a mic.)

Katie: Hello to all of you MECCA fans out there, and thank you for joining us on this night as we celebrate MECCA's second anniversary! I'm Katie Piehl, co-owner of MECCA, and we thank you for joining us for Go Time, right here live from Chicago, Illinois! 2006 was a great year, and we promise that 2007 will deliver even more of the wrestling action you crave. Tonight, we kick off the Women's World Cup with two first round matches. It will be the USA's Daizee Haze taking on Japan's Sumie Sakai, and later on, Canada's LuFisto will take on France's Coquette. We have a full night of action, so we want to...

("Afternoon Delight" hits and David Caldwell makes his way to the ring.)

David: Hello, everyone and welcome to Go Time. David Mills here, along with Dick Broccoli, and we had hoped to kick off MECCA's third year in a better way, but of course here comes Caldwell.

Dick: Katie Piehl couldn't keep him away, especially not after he had the finals of the Bikini Quest disrupted at New Year's Knockout, which ended with the winner Zoe Alexander being beaten clean in the middle of the ring by Lisa Letty.

(Caldwell grabs a mic.)

Caldwell: First of all, I don't appreciate all you idiotic fans and your stupid taunts! I'm David Caldwell, owner of MECCA, and you will show me some respect! Now, a few days ago at New Year's Knockout, it was set to be the biggest moment in MECCA history. The winner of the Bikini Quest was announced, but then I was assaulted once again by Nykk and Lisa Letty! And in my panicked state, I made a match right on the spot and Lisa cheated her way to victory over the lovely Zoe Alexander! Lisa, you may have this lady right here in your back pocket, but I swear to you on everything I am, that as long as I'm co-owner, you're not getting anywhere near that beloved title that you want back so badly.

Katie: Hey, Caldwell. As far as I'm concerned, you got exactly what you deserved for cheating our fans out of what they paid to see, and that's wrestling. They don't want to pay their hard-earned money to see some softcore T & A exhibition, and my good friend Lisa called you on that. And she did beat your so-called sports entertainer, just like every one of the MECCA competitors does when it counts.

Caldwell: You think my guys are some big joke? 2007 is going to be the David Caldwell Project's year, and I gave the MECCA wrestlers a chance to join up with me, because my vision is the future. But it looks like that's not going to happen, and my most entertaining guys can beat your wrestlers any day of the week.

Katie: Well, how about this? Since this is MECCA's second anniversary, and beating the ass of sports entertainment is basically what MECCA is all about, let's make our main event right here. What kind of match do you want?

Caldwell: Please, my guys aren't just entertaining, they pack a mean punch too, and you're about to find out how mean. I'm thinking we make this a six-man tag. I'll bring my entertainers, and you bring any three wrestlers you want. Maybe after tonight, you'll accept the fact that the difference between entertainers and wrestlers is that entertainers will appeal to a wider audience and make us both a boatload of money.

Katie: It's not always been about money for me, Caldwell, but you've got yourself a deal. Six-man tag team action in the main event, MECCA vs. the David Caldwell Project. I'll go look for some volunteers right now. Fans, stay tuned because when we come back, the Women's World Cup kicks off here on Go Time!

Caldwell: Whoopty-doo!

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Butterfly" by Aqua hits and Sumie Sakai makes her way to the ring.)

David: We're back on Go Time, and it's time to kick off the Women's World Cup as Sumie Sakai makes her way to ringside, representing Japan.

Dick: Sumie has spent the last several years of her career here in the United States honing her craft, but for this tournament she has chosen to represent her homeland.

("Sensi" hits and Daizee Haze makes her way to the ring.)

David: Of course, MECCA fans are familiar with Daizee Haze, who has come close before to becoming MECCA Ladies' Champion.

Dick: Daizee has not even begun to realize her potential, and she plans on making a statement by winning the World Cup.

(FINISH: Sumie goes for a moonsault, but Daizee moves out of the way. She gives her a heart punch, and then bounces off the ropes for a Yakuza Kick. Sumie blocks it, and pulls Daizee in for a uranage suplex. Daizee elbows her way out of it and then gives Sumie the Mind Trip. She covers and gets the three count.)

Winner: Daizee Haze

David: Daizee Haze advances to the next round, and Sumie will now drop into the lower brackets where she'll have one more chance to save herself in this tournament in a Four Corners Match.

Dick: Score one for the United States, and I can't wait to see how far Daizee goes in this tournament. She has some tough competition ahead of her.

(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with the Killer Kanines.)

Bill: Wild Wolf, Anubis, you are already the MECCA Tag Team Champions, but I understand you have an announcement for us all regarding this year's Snowed In, coming up quickly on January 13 from Dayton, Ohio.

Wolf: Yes, Bill, now that Anubis and I have established our dominance in the tag team division, we must go back to the night of October 28. Yes, that was the night of Scared Stiff, the night that my partner won the Wild Card Battle Royale. And in case you haven't guessed it, Eddie Crowe, that means that the big man has cashed in his World Title shot. So on January 13, it will be Eddie Crowe vs. Anubis for the World Title at Snowed In, and I promise that your reign will come to an abrupt end.

(Anubis glares at the camera.)

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Filthy/Gorgeous" hits and Cheesecake makes his way to the ring.)

David: It's time for Cheesecake to enter the ring, much like he did two years ago on this very program in happier times.

Dick: Cheesecake's career seems to have stalled, but there's always an opportunity to turn things around.

("Ballroom Blitz" hits and Tristan Lee makes his way to the ring.)

David: Tristan Lee, out of the United Kingdom, has been trying to work his way into MECCA's main roster for a number of months and this will be as good a test as any for this young kid.

Dick: Of course, fans of RCW would be familiar with Lee's brother Austin, who signed a developmental deal with WWE after the demise of that organization. Tristan has been training hard these past couple of years and much like his brother, has come over to the States to ply his trade.

(FINISH: Cheesecake goes for the Screw-Driver, but Lee counters with a victory roll for a two count. He gets up, but Cheesecake hits him with a clothesline. He picks Lee up and goes for the Long Kiss Goodnight, but Lee counters with an armwringer and knees Cheesecake in the midsection. He hits the Degenerate Driver and covers for the three count.)

Winner: Tristan Lee

David: Tristan Lee scores a big win for his career over a former MECCA Tag Team Champion, and he was just countering everything Cheesecake threw at him there.

Dick: This is definitely a promising youngster, and with this win we could be seeing a lot more of him here on Go Time.

David: When we come back, we'll have a Four Corners tag match for you as it will be the Backseat Boyz vs. The Human Tornado and Delirious vs. S-Squared vs. the Surgeons!

(Backstage, Katie Piehl knocks on the locker room door and goes in to find Nykk and Lisa Letty sitting on a bench talking.)

Katie: Nykk.

Nykk: Hey, Katie.

Katie: How are you holding up? I know this has to be tough for you, considering it was you two years ago as the first face that people saw.

Nykk: Well, back then it was my organization, but I sure put my foot in my mouth eventually, didn't I? Not only did I introduce the clause that made me lose my share of MECCA, but I sold it to that moron Caldwell. I can't tell you enough times how sorry I am for that.

Katie: I do wish you had consulted with me before you made that decision, but I understand that it was your share of the company and you and Lisa were going through enough turmoil at the time. But listen, if you really want to make it up to me, why don't you be on my team tonight against the David Caldwell Project? I can't think of anything more symbolic than if the former co-owner of MECCA, who represents everything that it stands for, were to defeat Caldwell's minions on the second anniversary.

Nykk: Katie, I didn't know it was still Christmas, because this is exactly what I was hoping to get! Lisa already did a good job of embarrassing Caldwell's "starlet" at New Year's Knockout, and now it's my turn. But we do need two more people for the team...

Katie: I've already got one. Alan Mayse was the first guy to come up and volunteer earlier.

Nykk: I'm liking this team so far.

Katie: And normally I'd go right for the MECCA Champion, but since neither Eddie Crowe or the Pyro Twins are here tonight, I've got someone else in mind.

(She walks farther into the locker room and comes across Bryan Danielson, who is sitting on the floor, looking dejected.)

Katie: Bryan, I thought I'd find you here. Can I talk to you?

(Danielson stands up.)

Danielson: It's about the main event, right? Listen, Ms. Piehl, I just heard you over there saying that your first choice would be Eddie Crowe, but he's not here. The guy who beat me by an eyelash at New Year's Knockout was your first pick. And you want to come up to me and ask me to represent MECCA? Why?

Katie: Because you claim to be the Best Wrestler in the World. Because you are the embodiment of the type of competitor we want in this organization. You're the American Dragon, and now's your chance to give back to the company that has given you so many opportunities...

(David Caldwell suddenly rushes in and interjects himself.)

Caldwell: Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute. Opportunities? Sure, Danielson, you've gotten a few title shots, but you've blown everything this company's ever given you. Surely you can do better than this, Katie. The guy that lost at New Year's Knockout is going to be on your team? Where is our MECCA Champion anyway? Where are your precious Pyro Twins?

Katie: Don't pretend that you actually want them here, Caldwell, because Eddie is over in Japan defending the MECCA Championship, bringing more prestige to this organization and that belt. And don't even try to pretend you want the Pyro Twins. I've signed them for a match with the CDT at Snowed In, so you'll get more of them than you care to see on January 13.

Caldwell: That's fine, Katie, I was just under the impression that you wanted to find some winners for your team, not some choke artist.

Danielson: You know what, Caldwell? You only seem to see in terms of immediate victories, and that gives you a very limited view of the world. Yeah, I lost to Eddie Crowe at Summertime Showdown. Yeah, I went into a slump, pulled myself back to the top, and lost to him again. But you know what? When it's all said and done, I'll accomplish what I came to MECCA to do, and it will be because of my wrestling ability. You seem to want to make that a secondary factor in "David Caldwell Sports Entertainment" so tonight, I'm going to accept Katie's request to be the third member of her team. And it doesn't matter who you send against us, because on tonight's second anniversary, MECCA will reign supreme.

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Hit That" hits and S-Squared make their way to the ring.)

David: We just saw before the break that Katie Piehl has recruited three of MECCA's best for tonight's main event: the Toughman Champion Alan Mayse, Nykk and the American Dragon Bryan Danielson will comprise Team MECCA.

Dick: We also found out that Katie Piehl has apparently decided to put an end to the CDT, as she's signed a match between them and the Pyro Twins for Snowed In.

("Body Bomb" hits and the Surgeons make their way to the ring.)

David: Stryker and Walters are coming off an unsuccessful bid at the tag titles at New Year's Knockout, and this match could get them back in contention.

Dick: These Four-Way matches may seem incidental, but they do go a long way in determining just who is going to break out from the pack in any particular division.

("Cool" hits and the Human Tornado and Delirious make their way to the ring.)

David: Tornado and Delirious may be odd, but they are an effective team, and this could be their night.

Dick: I'm almost tempted to cheer for them just to see what happens if the Killer Kanines were to come up against them.

("The Chase" hits and the Backseat Boyz make their way to the ring.)

David: The Backseats' quest for the titles was temporarily derailed at New Year's Knockout when the CDT managed to steal the victory and get the title shot.

Dick: This is their chance to rebound in a big way on MECCA's second anniversary show.

(FINISH: Sydal hits a twisting moonsault to the outside on Walters as Tornado hits a spiral clothesline on Stryker in the corner, and then gives him a bulldog. Joey takes down Tornado with a spinning heel kick, but walks into a Yakuza Kick from Acid. Delirious dropkicks Acid from behind to send him into the corner and hits the Panic Attack, but walks into a Hurricane DDT from Walters. Kashmere spears Walters, but then Tornado grabs him and hits DATNIGGADEAD. He covers, but Acid pulls him off and sends him shoulder first into Stryker's midsection. They pick up Delirious and give him the T-Gimmick. Kashmere covers for the three count as Acid prevents Sydal from making the save.)

Winners: The Backseat Boyz

David: The Backseats walk away with the victory, and they still have this issue with the Pyro Twins to contend with as well as seeking a shot at the MECCA Tag Team Championship.

Dick: That's true, and though Dusty and Jay aren't here tonight, you can bet they're watching from wherever they are.

(Backstage, Tristan Lee is putting his gear back into his bag when Andy Nathans and Jack Fletcher enter the locker room.)

Fletcher: Hey, mate.

Tristan: Andy, Jack, I didn't know you two were back!

Nathans: We just got cleared to compete from the doctor last week. What's up with you, man, you break out on us in our absence or something? That was quite the victory over Cheesecake.

Tristan: Thanks.

Fletcher: We just wanted to let you know that if you need us to show you the ropes around here, whatever you need, you just let us know. After all, you are Austin's little brother.

Tristan: Thanks, but I'm pretty content right now sticking to my own guns...

Nathans: Maybe you misunderstood. That wasn't exactly an offer. More of an expectation. We Brits have to stick together over here, that's for sure, and after what happened to us in October, we realize it more than ever. So get your act together, remember where it is you came from, and we expect to see you by our side soon.

(The UK Wrecking Crew leave the locker room.)

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Filthy/Gorgeous" hits and Coquette makes her way to the ring.)

David: It's time to continue the Women's World Cup with our second first round match of the evening, as Coquette will represent her home country of France.

Dick: And though she's French, she's not going to run and hide, she's out here to win this tournament and restore some honor to her homeland.

("What You Waiting For" hits and LuFisto makes her way to the ring.)

David: LuFisto is representing Canada in this tournament, and the Quebec native is a former MECCA Ladies' Champion, and is known as the First Lady of Hardcore.

Dick: She's definitely been in some battles, and this will be another memorable chapter in her career.

(FINISH: Coquette goes for the Coquettish Clutch, but LuFisto gets a foot over the bottom rope. Coquette breaks the hold and whips LuFisto into the ropes. She puts her head down, and LuFisto kicks her in the face and delivers a Michinoku Driver. Coquette barely kicks out, and LuFisto picks her up. She goes for LuFisto's Law, but Coquette trips her and rolls over into a bridge. At two, LuFisto counters into a sunset rollup for two, and Coquette rolls backwards to escape. She rolls LuFisto up with a folding press for two, but LuFisto uses her legs to take her all the way back over to the mat, landing on top of her and hooking both her legs for a three count.)

Winner: LuFisto

David: LuFisto moves on to the second round, and Coquette will now drop into the lower brackets, along with Sumie Sakai, as she is one loss away from being eliminated.

Dick: LuFisto proved once again that she can wrestle as well as brawl, and caught Coquette in there. Solid victory for the former Ladies' Champion.

David: We've got our main event coming up next. The David Caldwell Project will take on Nykk, Alan Mayse and Bryan Danielson in a six-man tag when we return!

(Backstage, Medea Knight is walking toward the Killer Kanines, looking scared. She clears her throat.)

Medea: Um... my supreme leader David Caldwell wishes me to tell you that... next week, he will...

Wolf: Spit it out. We don't have all day.

(Caldwell suddenly interjects himself with Kishi Fatu by his side.)

Caldwell: For god's sake, you dumb bimbo, can you get anything right? This message is specifically for you, Anubis, because I know you like to think you're all big and bad, but the truth is when I bumped your match for the Bikini Quest, you didn't have the guts to do anything about it. And now you have this title shot against Eddie Crowe and that's all fine and dandy, but I just wanted to let you know that you better reserve some energy for defending those tag titles, because next week I'm cashing in the CDT's title shot.

Wolf: First of all, did you just send the girl over here because you knew she'd be terrified of us? What kind of sicko are you, anyway? As far as...

Caldwell: Whoa, whoa, what are you answering for? Does he even talk?

Wolf: As I was saying...

(Anubis puts a hand on Wolf's shoulder to stop him and steps up.)

Anubis: You think that by cashing in this shot next week you'll catch me more preoccupied with my match with Eddie at Snowed In? You're gravely mistaken. We worked way too long to get these titles to let them go now. Next week, the Kanines will tear your guys apart, and then I will go on to become the new MECCA Champion.

(The Killer Kanines walk away, as Medea gives Caldwell a smug look.)

Caldwell: What are you looking at? What use are you anyway? You can't wrestle, I manage the CDT now... so you know your role in this whole project. Go make me a sammich!

(Medea drops her arms in disgust and walks away.)

(Commercial Break)

(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Kelly Schweickart.)

Bill: Kelly, it was a tremendous year for you in 2006, and now that 2007 is upon us, do you have any New Year's resolutions to share with us?

Kelly: I do, Bill. You see, as great as 2006 was to me, as much as I improved, I still have nothing to show for it. I thought that might change with this Women's World Cup, but guess what? I was bumped out of a spot in that in favor of Zoe Alexander. Thanks to politics, I'm not going to get a chance to represent my country and bring that World Cup home to the United States. So the only thing I can do right now is go after the prize every woman in MECCA wants. I'm going after Shadow's Ladies' Championship, and my resolution is to become the MECCA Ladies' Champion. I've been banging my head against the glass ceiling long enough, and it's time to break through and shine bright in the new year.

(In the arena, "Afternoon Delight" hits and Huh, Kishi Fatu and Jamie Chan make their way to the ring, along with David Caldwell, who is eating a sandwich.)

David: It's time for the main event here on Go Time, which is in response to a challenge laid out by David Caldwell at the top of the show. He wants to set the tone for 2007 by burying three wrestlers of MECCA with his sports entertainers, but Katie Piehl is not about to let that happen.

Dick: I see that Medea Knight did get Caldwell his pre-match meal, and though he makes fun of her for her current "role" I'd imagine being Caldwell's personal cook is a full time job.

("The Final Countdown" hits and Bryan Danielson, Nykk and Alan Mayse make their way to the ring, along with Katie Piehl.)

David: The American Dragon came within a hair of defeating Eddie Crowe for the MECCA World Championship at New Year's Knockout, but he's not about to let himself fall into another slump. He's here defending the honor of MECCA, and he's not alone.

Dick: Of course, Alan Mayse has a beef with David Caldwell, who hit him with a chair at New Year's Knockout, getting his own man Kishi disqualified, and Nykk is still angry over what happened with Lisa Letty and the Bikini Quest as well as Caldwell lying to him when he approached Nykk about buying his share of the company.

(FINISH: Danielson gets the hot tag and takes down Chan and Huh with forearms. He gives Chan a snap butterfly suplex, and then gives Huh a Regalplex, but Kishi breaks it up. Nykk and Alan come in and hammer Kishi with right hands and whip him into the ropes. Kishi mows them down with a double clothesline, but Danielson takes him off his feet with a missile dropkick. Alan goes to the outside, to fight with Huh, taking him over the guardrail. Chan hits Danielson with a spinning back kick and then gives him a DDT. He goes to the top rope, but Nykk goes up and fights with him. Huh clotheslines Alan back over the guardrail, but Danielson springboards to the top rope and takes Huh down with a somersault plancha. Nykk goes for the Nykkochet on Chan, and hits the northern lights superplex. He bounces up for the second part, but Kishi hits him across the back with forearms and whips him into the corner, hitting a reverse avalanche. He goes for the Stinkface on Nykk, but Alan springboards in with a dropkick, staggering Kishi. Nykk hits him with a running leg lariat, and Kishi staggers back into the ropes and bounces back right into a kick from Alan. Alan goes for the Tiger Bomb and Danielson rolls back into the ring. He and Nykk assist Alan in giving the Tiger Bomb to Kishi. Alan rolls him out of the ring as Nykk charges Chan, who backdrops him over the top rope. Huh rolls in and tries to clothesline Danielson, but Danielson counters with an armbar and goes for the Cattle Mutilation. Chan gives him a roundhouse kick, and Alan knees Huh in the midsection, giving him an exploder. Huh rolls back out, and Alan goes after him. Chan charges Danielson in the corner and gives him a Saitama Kick. He tries to follow up with a superkick, but Danielson catches his foot and spins him around. He goes for Cattle Mutilation, but Chan manages to power out. He drops down and Danielson picks him up wheelbarrow style, dropping him face first on the mat. He spins around and starts nailing Chan with his elbow combination. After about ten elbows, the ref pulls Danielson off and calls for the bell.)

Winners: Bryan Danielson, Nykk and Alan Mayse

David: Team MECCA wins, Team MECCA wins, and Caldwell looks like a jackass!

Dick: Great job by Katie Piehl handpicking these three, because they came through in a big way!

(Caldwell protests to the ref that Chan was not in any danger, although Chan is having trouble regaining his equilibrium at ringside.)

David: We've got Snowed In coming at us quickly on January 13, and we only have one more Go Time to go before then. We'll see you next week, fans!
