Quick Rundown Results:
Trent Acid b. Huh
Killer Kanines b. Delirious and Cheesecake
Nykk/Pyro Twins b. Danielson/Cynric/Fox
("Neocon" opening.)
David: Fans, welcome to Go Time, presented by MECCA! We are only three days away from Summertime Showdown, live on pay-per-view, but tonight we make one last stop in Frankfort, Kentucky! I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and tonight Bryan Danielson gets ready for his World Title shot at Eddie Crowe as he takes on one half of the MECCA Tag Team Champions, Jay Crowe in the main event!
Dick: Also, due to the altercation last week, Katie Piehl has made a special tag team challenge for tonight. The number one contenders to the tag titles, Ronin Fox and Cynric, will take on Nykk and Joey Sprinklers!
David: Plus Cheesecake will be in action, and that's only the start of a great night of action here on Go Time!
("La Macarena" hits and Delirious, the Human Tornado and the CDT make their way to the ring, along with Medea Knight.)
David: The Eccentric Alliance is in force tonight for an eight-man tag to open this edition of Go Time.
Dick: Cheesecake has not been hanging out with these guys since he turned his back on Huh, and hopefully we'll get answer as to why he did that tonight.
("Kobrakai" hits and the Killer Kanines and Stage One make their way to the ring, along with David Caldwell.)
David: All four of these teams are entered into the Tag Team Gauntlet Match at Summertime Showdown, in an effort to impress Katie Piehl and perhaps earn a shot at the winners of the Pyro Twins vs. Fox/Cynric.
Dick: The Kanines and Stage One clashed a couple of weeks back, and I'm not sure they're on the same page. This could be an Eccentric night for these four, and for Huh, who takes on Trent Acid later.
(FINISH: Delirious hits Shadows Over Hell on Saito and makes the cover, but the Wild Wolf breaks it up. A donnybrook erupts, and Anubis ends up laying out Tornado with a lariat. He stands in the corner, and the Wild Wolf goes to the top turnbuckle, preparing to stand on his shoulders. However, Delirious clotheslines Anubis and then climbs to the second turnbuckle, hammering him with rights. However, Wolf retaliates with more rights from his perch, so Dreamo come over and puts Delirious on his shoulders. He gets on the second rope, elevating Delirious to hit Wolf with rights as Dreamo works over Anubis. Delirious then hooks Wolf for a superplex as Anubis gets under Dreamo for a powerbomb. From the outside of the ring, Tornado and CB grab Anubis's legs, and then Stage One springboard to the top rope on either side, dropkicking Delirious, and setting off the double trip/powerbomb/electric chair/superplex combo. CB and Tornado then crotch Anubis on the post and springboard to the top rope, taking down Stage One with dropkicks. Tornado gives Chan a backdrop driver onto Saito, and the Eccentrics pile up for the three count.)
Winners: The Eccentric Alliance
David: The Eccentric Alliance wins out after one of the biggest car wrecks I've ever seen!
Dick: They got the job done, but they won't be able to work together in the Tag Team Gauntlet.
(Suddenly, the UK Wrecking Crew hit the ring. The beat down Tornado with forearms, and then give CB the Swinging Crane. Nathans throws Dreamo out of the ring and then they give Delirious the Wrecking Ball.)
David: The UK Wrecking Crew is out here, but why did they just attack the Eccentric Alliance!?
(Nathans gets a mic.)
Nathans: Hey... you people didn't forget about us, did you? The first MECCA Tag Team Champions and all? What we're doing is making a statement. We want back in the thick of things here in MECCA.
Fletcher: We're ready to take on the best, and it starts this Saturday, as we're entering ourselves into the Invitational Gauntlet! See you in Minneapolis!
("Ironman" hits and the UK Wrecking Crew exit the ring.)
Dick: The UK Wrecking Crew have been laying low since they've returned, but it looks like they're back in a big way. I can't wait to see this Tag Team Gauntlet!
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with the Pyro Twins.)
Bill: As we just saw, all teams are gearing up to get a shot at the men I'm standing with, the MECCA Tag Team Champions, Jay Crowe and Dusty Schneble. Gentlemen, this Saturday you have one of the toughest battles of your reign as you're faced with the brother tandem of Ronin Fox and Cynric, two bona fide main eventers here in MECCA, but two men that have yet to win gold.
Jay: That's exactly right. As good as they are, they don't get the job done. There is no team in MECCA that can match us in the ring, Bill.
Dusty: And for that matter, there is no team that can match us in head games outside the ring either. Fox and Cynric think they're taking the titles, but the thing is, they lack the patience that it takes to be a champion. We chased these titles for a year, Bill, and we're not letting go...
(Suddenly, Cynric and Fox attack from behind. The Pyro Twins try to fight back, but Fox rams Jay into some crates as Cynric takes down Dusty with some martial arts kicks. Cynric gets out of the way, and Fox kicks Dusty below the belt. Cynric then grabs a chair and cracks Jay over the head with it.)
Fox: Get over here, Bicknell!
(A terrified Bill Bicknell comes back with the microphone.)
Fox: No one is good with the head games like the Pyro Twins. Well, when you don't have any heads to play games with, don't say we didn't warn you.
Cynric: Those belts are ours, and there's not a force on earth that can stop us!
Fox: You said it, brother. The fact of the matter is, you Pyro Twins don't have a chance against us. I know that back in RCW, you were usually able to get the one up on us, but that was then and this is now. You know it and we know it. Summertime Showdown crowns new tag team champs.
(Fox and Cynric walk away.)
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Pajamarama" hits and Huh makes his way to the ring.)
David: We're back on Go Time, and the Pyro Twins were just attacked before the break by the team they'll be defending against at Summertime Showdown, Ronin Fox and Cynric!
Dick: Fox and Cynric want to get into the Pyro Twins' heads, though I don't know how good an idea that really is.
David: If nothing else, they could have seriously injured Dusty or Jay before their big match this Saturday. But right now, Huh is making his way to the ring, looking a little lost without his partner.
("I'm a Soldier" hits and Trent Acid makes his way to the ring.)
David: As we saw last week, a Pipe on a Pole Match has been made for Summertime Showdown, as this feud between Nykk and Acid has to end. But we still don't know Nykk's status as owner of MECCA, thanks to Acid's interruption last week.
Dick: Nykk hasn't been talking, saying that he'll speak when he's good and ready. It may be we find out sometime tonight.
(FINISH: Huh gives Acid a back body drop, and then whips him into the corner. He hits a charging avalanche, followed by a bulldog. He covers and gets a two count. Cheesecake makes his way to ringside, and starts taunting Huh. Huh starts jawing with Cheesecake, and then whips Acid into the ropes. He puts his head down, and Acid kicks him in the face and then gives him a roaring forearm. He goes to the top rope for a double axehandle, but Huh gives him a right to the midsection, followed by a DDT. Acid distracts the ref, saying that Huh pulled his hair as Huh goes up for a moonsault. Cheesecake gets on the apron and crotches Huh on the top turnbuckle. Huh somersaults backwards to his feet, and Acid gives him the Shovel Driver. He covers and gets the three count.)
Winner: Trent Acid
David: Acid wins with the Shovel Driver, or Howling Moon II as we've always known it, and I guess it's not enough for Cheesecake to turn on his longtime partner, he has to come out here and rub it in and cost him matches as well.
Dick: I don't think Huh was in any danger of winning to begin with, but I guess Cheesecake wanted to make sure.
David: When we come back, the men who will challenge for the tag titles this Saturday, Ronin Fox and Cynric, will take on Nykk and Joey Sprinklers!
(Backstage, LuFisto is walking down the hallway. She encounters Gail Kim.)
Gail: So... I Quit Match this Saturday? I'm not sure how you look yourself in the mirror, walking around with my belt on your shoulder, but I can't wait to teach you a lesson in pain in front of the world.
LuFisto: Gail, I'm tired of you saying that I'm somehow not a true champion because I beat you in a Hardcore Match. Just because you couldn't cut it with my style does not make you the uncrowned champion. But this Saturday, we can win either way, by submission or just beating each other senseless. You know what I'm planning to do. But what I'm not planning to do, and will never do, is say I quit!
(She tries to walk away, but Kim takes her down with a Fujiwara armbar. She segues into a Rings of Saturn and holds her down, stretching her.)
Gail: Yes, you will! You're saying it right now! Say "I quit!"
LuFisto: No!
(Gail rears back harder on the hold, causing LuFisto to scream in pain.)
Gail: Say it!
LuFisto: Never!
(Gail rears back even harder, and LuFisto screams in pain. Some officials arrive, but by the time they manage to pull Gail off, LuFisto has passed out.)
Gail: You may not say it, but you'll still lose. I'm walking away the Ladies' Champion, even if I have to end your career!
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Did My Time" hits and Ronin Fox and Cynric make their way to the ring.)
David: We're back on Go Time, and don't Fox and Cynric look so proud of themselves after attacking the Pyro Twins earlier.
Dick: They're feeling confident about their tag title match this Saturday, so much so that they decided to take this match tonight.
("Destroy" hits and Nykk and Joey Sprinklers make their way to the ring.)
David: Of course, we all know Nykk's story up to this point. He wanted this match after Fox provoked him into a fight last week over his whole situation with Lisa Letty.
Dick: And of course, Joey Sprinklers, ever the hanger-on, is out here with him. I really don't think the Nykk/Fox rivalry will ever end.
(FINISH: Shortly into the match, the Pyro Twins make their way to ringside. Later, Nykk goes for Howling Moon II on Cynric, but Fox pushes his brother back to his feet and hits Nykk. They whip Nykk into the ropes, but Nykk ducks a double clothesline, allowing Joey to springboard in with a double clothesline of his own. He goes for Da Hit on Fox, but Cynric saves his brother and bounces off the ropes. With the ref tied up with Nykk and Fox, Jay and Dusty trip Cynric and drag him to the outside. They ram him headfirst into the guardrail as Fox gives Nykk a jawbreaker and gives Joey a spinning heel kick. He sees what's going on, and jaws with the Pyro Twins. He ducks a clothesline from Joey and whips him into the ropes. Joey reverses, and Fox goes for a flying headscissors takeover. However, Nykk catches him halfway through, and throws him into the air, somersaulting him into a powerbomb/slam combo. Nykk covers and gets the three count.)
Winners: Nykk and Joey Sprinklers
David: I guess the Pyro Twins weren't as hurt as we thought, because they just managed to cost Fox and Cynric this match going into Summertime Showdown!
Dick: Jay and Dusty may have gotten the last laugh tonight, after all.
(Fox rolls out of the ring and he and Cynric start fighting with Jay and Dusty. They brawl to the back, as Nykk tells Joey something. Joey nods and leaves the ring as Nykk gets a mic.)
Nykk: Now... we all know that over the past week, I haven't been talking. I said I owed it to everyone to give my decision in the ring, and that's exactly what I'm going to do. So Lisa Letty, I'm asking you to please come down here.
(Lisa Letty emerges from the back and walks to the ring. Nykk holds open the ropes for her.)
Nykk: Lisa, last week I was interrupted just as I was about to say this. For the past few years, I've been living out a lifelong dream. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I founded MECCA and it got that much better. And I feel that I owe it to all the fans and the workers in this fine organization to do my best at all times... but as good as it's all been, when you and I got together, my joy of life ascended to the next level, and I was never happier in my entire life. So what I'm...
(Lisa puts one finger over Nykk's mouth to quiet him, and asks for the microphone. Nykk gives it to her.)
Lisa: Nykk, I feel the same way, I really do. But I've seen firsthand how much you love being co-owner of this company. Wrestling is your life. It's what fuels you, brings you joy, and always will be, long after you've retired from the ring. I know how much MECCA means to you, and I... I don't think I can live up to that. And since I can't live up to it, I won't stand in the way of it. I'm sorry, Nykk, but this decision isn't yours anymore. I'm breaking it off... I'm... I'm sorry...
(Lisa drops the microphone and leaves the ring, crying. She flees up the aisle as Nykk stares after her sadly.)
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Filthy/Gorgeous" hits and Cheesecake makes his way to the ring.)
David: Welcome back, and I can't believe what we just witnessed. It looked like Nykk was about to choose Lisa Letty, but she interrupted him, said she couldn't stand in the way of what he loved, and ended the relationship herself!
Dick: Lisa definitely made the whole thing a moot point, and now there's nothing left keeping Nykk from continuing on as owner...
(As Cheesecake enters the ring, Huh comes in from the crowd. He slides in the ring, and Cheesecake takes one look at him and hightails it out of the ring and up the aisle. Huh grabs a mic.)
David: Well, Cheesecake was supposed to have a match, but Huh's out here now, and Cheesecake wanted absolutely no part of him.
Dick: Cheesecake has fled, but it looks like Huh has something to say.
Huh: I know I don't get a lot of mic time around here, but Cheesecake, a few weeks ago you trampled on almost four years of hard work. You trampled on two different tag team championships, and you trampled on our friendship. And now you want to come out here and cost me matches? Obviously you have no respect for me, and maybe never did. But if you want to turn your back on me and the Eccentric Alliance, you'd better be ready to fight... and we will fight this Saturday at Summertime Showdown! Oh, and just for the record, I've known you were gay all along! Really!
(Huh exits the ring and heads back out through the crowd.)
David: We have another match for Summertime Showdown, as Huh will take on Cheesecake, but someone should tell Huh that he doesn't have to exit through the crowd now that he's made his surprise appearance.
Dick: Maybe he's on his way to the concession stand.
("TKO" hits and Zoe Alexander makes her way to the ring.)
David: Well, I guess we're just going to move on to the next match in our lineup, as it's time for the ladies of MECCA to show what they've got.
Dick: Zoe Alexander is jockeying for a shot at the Ladies' Title, and she's definitely on her way for just that.
("Sensi" hits and Daizee Haze makes her way to the ring.)
David: Of course, the one blemish on her record was a loss to that woman, Daizee Haze, on Rundown a couple of weeks back.
Dick: Daizee is proving that size doesn't matter when it comes to skill in the wrestling ring, and if she could get another win over Zoe here, and perhaps a win over someone else close to contention, she could be getting a title shot herself.
(FINISH: Zoe goes for a double knee gutbuster, but Daizee lands on her feet and rolls Zoe back to hers. She whips her into the corner, and hits a charging clothesline. She goes for the Mind Trip, but Zoe counters with a trip of her own, and then hooks Daizee's arms and turns her over into a roll up. She bridges back and grabs the ropes, getting the three count.)
Winner: Zoe Alexander
David: Zoe escapes with the win by the skin of her teeth, having to grab the ropes for extra leverage. I'm not sure this proves she's better than Daizee, but a win is a win.
Dick: You take it any way you can, and Zoe just shamelessly did that.
(Zoe backs up the aisle, taunting Daizee while she tries to let the ref know what happened.)
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Trent Acid.)
Bill: I'm here with Trent Acid, and Trent, we're a few days away from Summertime Showdown. A Pipe on a Pole Match between you and Nykk, and we just found out a few minutes ago that Lisa Letty has elected to end her relationship with Nykk, which means he's still the boss.
Acid: You know, I could make some tasteless comment about how I'm going to go after Lisa, but the truth is, I never found her that attractive. But I knew Nykk did, and by getting under his skin and causing all this inner turmoil, I'm now in place to win this feud with the Alpha Wolf of MECCA. So thank you, Nykk, for being such a good sport and taking your focus away from me, because you haven't been able to beat me yet! And this Saturday, I finish the job that I started and I elevate myself up the card at your expense. Nykk, this Saturday I'll show you why I am the man here in MECCA, and when it's all over, I'll be the man to beat and you can go sulk over what could have been. I'll see you at Summertime Showdown.
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, Alan Mayse is walking down a hallway when he comes across Kevin Stone.)
Stone: Well... Alan Mayse, it's nice to see you. You couldn't be bothered to say anything to me last week, but maybe this week you'll actually act like a man.
Alan: What are you talking about? I accepted your challenge for Summertime Showdown.
Stone: But you wouldn't do it to my face. You told Katie Piehl about it, and she made the match, that's true, and I don't blame you. You've been running from me since I gave you that scare back when I beat you at Bloody Valentine. But count on me taking that title in three days, because I'm the toughest son of a bitch in MECCA. And you just don't have any guts at all.
Alan: I don't have any guts?
(Alan slaps Stone across the face.)
Alan: How's that for guts, MECCA Monster? I'll see you on Saturday.
(Alan walks away as Stone holds his face and glares at Alan.)
(In the arena, "The Final Countdown" hits and Bryan Danielson makes his way to the ring.)
David: It's going to be brutal in our Toughman Title Match in three days, but on Saturday, this man right here says he will fulfill his destiny, as Bryan Danielson will be in the main event taking on Eddie Crowe for the MECCA World Championship.
Dick: Danielson holds that victory over Eddie in the dream partner tag back at Liberty or Death, but tonight he steps in the ring with Eddie's brother.
("Burning Times" hits and Jay Crowe makes his way to the ring.)
David: Danielson did get the victory over Dusty Schneble a few weeks ago, and a victory tonight could earn him a potential shot at the tag titles in addition to his title shot at Summertime Showdown.
Dick: He had some cocky words for Eddie the last time he was here on Go Time, and we've yet to see Eddie respond to that.
(FINISH: Jay goes for the Overhaul, but Danielson rakes the eyes and drops to his feet, applying the Cattle Mutilation on Jay. Eddie Crowe makes his way to ringside, and makes like he's going to get in the ring. Danielson kicks at him to keep him away, but that allows Jay to get a foot on the ropes. Danielson goes to the outside to argue with Eddie, and the ref starts counting. Eddie backs away, and Danielson tells him that he's not going to be counted out like he wants. He goes to get back in the ring, but Eddie manages to slip under the ring from the other side and crawl over to Danielson, grabbing his ankle. Danielson struggles, but ends up getting counted out.)
Winner: Jay Crowe
David: Jay Crowe wins by count-out and gets on the Contender Star, and this must be Eddie's way of paying back Danielson for a few weeks ago as well as getting in his challenger's head.
Dick: I don't know, but things are set to explode right now.
David: We'll see you at Summertime Showdown, fans!
(Danielson argues with the ref, and ends up decking him with a forearm. Eddie shoves Danielson, and Danielson ends up getting into it with Eddie and Jay as officials come out to separate them.)
