Go Time: 8/16/06

Louisville, KY

Quick Rundown Results:
Killer Kanines b. UK Wrecking Crew
Heather Star b. Misery
LuFisto b. Daizee Haze, Shadow
Fox/Cynric b. CDT

("Neocon" opening.)

David: We are here in Louisville, Kentucky, fans, and this is Go Time, presented by MECCA! I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and tonight may be the hardest of Nykk's career. Will he choose his relationship with Lisa Letty and give up his ownership of MECCA, or will he end his relationship and remain owner? We'll find out on the David Caldwell Project.

Dick: Also, last week Alan Mayse was upset that Eddie Crowe interfered in his match against Bryan Danielson, so he requested a one on one match. However, since Kevin Stone still believes that Alan is ducking him, so a special non-title Triangle Match was signed, as it will be Eddie Crowe vs. Alan Mayse vs. Kevin Stone!

David: Plus a big ladies' tag match and much more tonight on Go Time!

("Edge of Seventeen" hits and Lisa Letty makes her way to the ring, with none of her usual enthusiasm. She looks like her mind is in another place.)

David: Right now, Lisa Letty is making her way out here, and she just looks distracted. I don't even know why she took this match with what's going on tonight.

Dick: Lisa is a competitor first and foremost, and she knows if she wants to be Ladies' Champion again, she needs to start winning some matches. Her wins have been few and far between this year, and I believe it's because her head hasn't been in the game, and we all know why that is.

("TKO" hits and Zoe Alexander makes her way to the ring.)

David: Zoe Alexander is also looking to challenge for the Ladies' Title, and has even gone as far as to openly declare in the back that she'll be coming after the winner of Gail Kim vs. LuFisto at Summertime Showdown.

Dick: Her new attitude has served her well, but it will be interesting to see how she does against the woman who was the forerunner of the ladies' division in MECCA.

(FINISH: Lisa manages to Pedigree Zoe, and tries to lock in the Letty Stretch, but one of Zoe's arms slips out of her grasp, and Zoe manages to grab the ropes. Lisa stomps on Zoe and gives her a scoop slam. She goes to the top rope and tries the Letty Press, but she's off by a mile and Zoe drops to one knee, letting Lisa land on it. She gives her a Saito suplex, and then picks her up, giving her the Zoetrope for the three count.)

Winner: Zoe Alexander

David: Zoe picks up a huge win, and Lisa just looked like her heart wasn't in it tonight.

Dick: Zoe capitalized on that, and becomes a much more serious contender than she was beforehand. Lisa needs to get her head on straight, as she's here for a reason, and that reason is not Nykk!

(Backstage, Nykk is walking down the hallway, also looking distracted. He crosses paths with Ronin Fox, who smirks at him.)

Nykk: Yes?

Fox: I just wanted to look at your face before you went out there and gave up half of yourself. Because that's exactly what you're doing one way or the other. You're giving up half of who you are. You see, I knew this all along. One of the reasons I was reluctant to sign with MECCA back when it started was because I knew you were part owner, and not to be trusted. But you outsmarted yourself, didn't you? I knew it was only a matter of time before you showed your true colors, and the corruption came out. It vindicates me, because it means I was right for turning on you, I was right to turn on the fans for cheering you. How does it feel, Nykk? You've become exactly what you hate about professional wrestling.

Nykk: You know what?

Fox: What?

(Nykk socks Fox in the face, and Fox tackles him. They wrestle around on the floor throwing punches, until some officials, including Katie Piehl, arrive to separate them.)

Katie: What's going on here?

Fox: Ask him. He's supposed to be our fair and impartial owner, and he attacked me!

Nykk: Don't you ever question my integrity. Not you!

Katie: Enough! Fox, get out of here. And Nykk... you'd better get your act together. You have more important things to worry about tonight.

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Cool" hits and the Human Tornado makes his way to the ring.)

David: We're back, and Nykk is clearly upset that he has to make this decision tonight, based on what happened before the break.

Dick: Fox has always gotten under Nykk's skin, and that provocation was just too much.

David: The Human Tornado, a member of the Eccentric Alliance, seems ready for this special challenge match.

("Hit That" hits and Joey Sprinklers skateboards his way to the ring.)

David: With his partner out for the time being, Joey Sprinklers seems to want to up his singles game here in MECCA.

Dick: We know that Joey is tough, but can he win consistently? I guess we'll find out after a few weeks.

(FINISH: Tornado goes for the Tornado DDT, but Joey throws him off and hits a dropkick. He goes for Da Hit, but Tornado counters into an inside cradle for two. He gives Joey a spinning heel kick and goes for the Backdrop Driver. However, Joey counters into a victory roll and gets the three count.)

Winner: Joey Sprinklers

David: How about that? Joey Sprinklers gets the flash pin on Tornado and walks away with the win.

Dick: Joey did good out there, but I'm sure he still wants to pursue the tag titles when Matt Sydal returns.

David: When we come back, more members of the Eccentric Alliance will be here, as the CDT take on Stage One!

(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Lisa Letty.)

Bill: I'm here with Lisa Letty, and Lisa, it looked like you just weren't into it out there with Zoe Alexander, and there's no question why. Later tonight, Nykk has to make a choice. Has he given any indication of what that choice will be? Anything I can use to scoop that idiot Caldwell?

Lisa: I'm sorry, Bill, and I'm sorry to all my fans for my performance tonight. I thought I could handle it, but... Nykk and I haven't talked for a week, Bill. I realized after last week that I need to give him time to come to a decision on his own. I know it's hard for him... I think he loves me. I truly think that. He's never said it, but I see it in his eyes. And I do love him... but wrestling was his first love. It's his pride, his passion, everything he is, and is also responsible for us being together. But the truth is, I don't know what Nykk's decision will be. All I can do now is hope that everything works out for the best.

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Still More Fighting" hits and Stage One make their way to the ring, along with David Caldwell.)

David: We're back here on Go Time with an important tag match, as all the teams in MECCA are looking to make an impact in the hopes of challenging the winner of the Fox and Cynric/Pyro Twins match at Summertime Showdown.

Dick: Stage One had their opportunity at Liberty or Death and were unable to get the job done, but now is the chance for them to redeem themselves.

("Sweet Dreams" hits and the Concession Dream Team make their way to the ring, along with Medea Knight.)

David: With all the turmoil going on between Cheesecake and the Eccentric Alliance, that group's status seems to be up in the air, but the CDT would love to become MECCA Tag Team Champions.

Dick: Let's face it, with the Eccentrics out of the picture, that leaves things wide open for the CDT to be the main team of that group.

(FINISH: The Killer Kanines make their way to ringside shortly into the match to survey the two teams. As they're conversing, Dreamo throws Saito over the top rope. He lands on the apron, but Concession Boy dropkicks him into the Kanines. They don't budge much, but when Saito gets to his feet, he shoves the Wild Wolf. Wolf tries to get at him, but Anubis holds him back. In the ring, Caldwell gets on the ring apron, allowing Chan to low blow Dreamo. He holds him for Saito, but Anubis comes into the ring and clotheslines Saito. Dreamo escapes and tries a crucifix on Chan, with CB giving him a dropkick to take him over. Dreamo gets the three count.)

Winners: The Concession Dream Team

David: Dreamo and Concession Boy pick up the victory thanks in part to Anubis, who was incensed that Saito dare shove his partner.

Dick: Things are heating up in MECCA's tag division, and it looks about ready to explode.

(Chan attacks Anubis from behind, prompting the Wild Wolf into the ring to fight with him. Anubis gets into a fistfight with the CDT, and then Delirious and the Human Tornado run down to ringside. Delirious hits Wolf with BAM! as the Tornado gives Saito a dropkick. The CDT hit the Nocturnal Emission on Chan, and then Delirious ducks a big boot from Anubis and tries a German suplex. Anubis doesn't budge, so Tornado waistlocks Delirious. They both can't even get him over, so the CDT bounce off the ropes and give Anubis a double dropkick, finally allowing Delirious and the Human Tornado to take him over with the German.)

David: The Eccentric Alliance stands tall, but nothing has really been settled. The CDT should certainly be considered contenders now, but what will the Killer Kanines have to say about that?

(Katie Piehl comes out onto the stage with a microphone.)

Dick: Wait a minute, Katie Piehl is out here now. What's she up to?

Katie: Hold on, all of you. Look, I realize that this kind of anarchy is to be expected, but we need to settle this some way. And I think I know how. At Summertime Showdown, I'm making a Tag Team Gauntlet Invitational! That means that two teams start off, and the winners face off with another team until only one is left standing. And any team in MECCA can enter!

David: There we have it, a solution to the problem, a Tag Team Gauntlet Invitational on August 26! We'll be right back with a ladies' tag match as Gail Kim and Shadow take on Kelly Schweickart and the Ladies' Champion LuFisto!

(Commercial Break)

(Backstage, Huh is waiting outside the men's restroom. After a few moments, Cheesecake exits. Huh blocks his path.)

Huh: Why, Cheesecake? After all we've been through, after all the success, why did you do it? I know I'm not that bright, but even I know betrayal when I see it. What do you think you're doing?

Cheesecake: You want an ans'th'er? You'll get your an'th'er, you big idiot. But not right now.

(Cheesecake takes off in the opposite direction.)

(In the arena, "Brackish" hits and Gail Kim and Shadow make their way to the ring.)

David: Huh finally caught up with Cheesecake, but didn't get a response out of him. What could make him throw away all those years of friendship?

Dick: Money and titles come to mind, and speaking of titles, Gail Kim is going to be facing the Ladies' Champion LuFisto at Summertime Showdown, but we're not sure of the stipulation yet. LuFisto wants a hardcore match, and Gail Kim a submission match, but Katie Piehl has not made her decision yet.

("Sold Me" hits and LuFisto and Kelly Schweickart make their way to the ring.)

David: LuFisto will be in the ring with women who want her title, including her partner. But if anyone can handle the odds, it's the First Lady of Hardcore.

Dick: Kim wants to make a statement by beating LuFisto in this match, but Kelly and Shadow want to make equal statements to show that they could be waiting in the wings to face whoever comes out the winner at Summertime Showdown.

(FINISH: LuFisto gives Shadow a butterfly suplex and then tags in Kelly. LuFisto bounces off the ropes, but Kim trips her from the outside and pulls her to the floor. She hits her with forearms, but LuFisto fights back and ends up dumping Kim over the guardrail. Kim retreats into the crowd, and LuFisto brawls out of sight with her. In the ring, Kelly goes up for the Kelly Cyclone, but Shadow crotches her on the top turnbuckle. She goes up to the second turnbuckle and gives Kelly the Skullbuster from the second rope. Kelly staggers, and Shadow bounces off the ropes, hitting her with the Interceptor from behind. Kelly goes down, and Shadow covers for the three count.)

Winners: Shadow and Gail Kim

David: Gail Kim and Shadow pick up the victory, with Shadow earning the decisive fall. She wants that Ladies' Title back, and she doesn't care if she has to go through LuFisto, Gail Kim, or both of them. When we come back, our non-title three way, as the MECCA Champion Eddie Crowe takes on the Toughman Champion Alan Mayse and the MECCA Monster Kevin Stone!

(Commercial Break)

(Backstage, officials are holding LuFisto and Gail Kim apart. The two are still trying to get at each other when Katie Piehl enters.)

Katie: Enough of this already! First Nykk and Fox blow up at each other again, and now you two. You might be interested to know that I've decided on the stipulation for your match on August 26. Now, each of you have your own preferred style, and normally LuFisto, I would grant the champion discretion, but since you already beat Gail to win the title in your type of match, I've decided to make the rematch one that combines both hardcore and submission elements. So at Summertime Showdown, it will be LuFisto vs. Gail Kim... in an I Quit Match! So, Gail, if you so desire you can stretch LuFisto until she can't take it anymore and says that she quits, and LuFisto, if you so desire you can bludgeon Gail half to death until she says those magic words. Is this acceptable?

LuFisto: More than acceptable, Ms. Piehl. Thank you.

Gail: I'll see you at Summertime Showdown, champ. Make sure to bring the belt, because I want you looking right at it when I have you in the mat, hands and feet locked up and nowhere to go and you have to yell "I quit!" for the world to hear.

LuFisto: Bring it, Gail.

(In the arena, "Seven Nation Army" hits and Alan Mayse makes his way to the ring.)

David: Well, an I Quit Match now signed for Summertime Showdown, and it will be for the Ladies' Title! But right now, it's time for our main event, with Nykk's decision still to come. Alan was quite upset last week when Eddie cost him the chance to get back on the Contender Star.

Dick: After all the noise Alan has been making in the back about possibly being the better champion in MECCA, that definitely didn't sit too well with him.

("At the End of the Rainbow" hits and Kevin Stone makes his way to the ring.)

David: No titles on the line in this one, nothing but pride, but a win over Eddie could make the booking committee think about giving Stone another shot at the World Title.

Dick: Alan Mayse vs. Kevin Stone for the Toughman Title has been signed for Summertime Showdown, and a win here could also be a way for Kevin to send a message to his opponent.

("Noots" hits and Eddie Crowe makes his way to the ring.)

David: Eddie Crowe has his big title defense against Bryan Danielson coming up at Summertime Showdown, though he could have another potential challenger in either of these two men. Of course, Eddie won the belt from Stone, but Alan and Eddie have not met here in MECCA as of yet.

Dick: It might be a moot point, considering the fact that most people consider the American Dragon the favorite in their match, and expect him to walk away with the title.

(FINISH: Alan gives Stone a drop toehold near the turnbuckles and applies a Muta Lock. Eddie sees his opportunity and jumps over the two, vaulting onto the second turnbuckle and coming off with the Eddie Dive onto both men. He covers Alan, but Stone manages to lunge and shove Eddie off at two. Eddie kicks Stone and whips him into the ropes. Stone reverses and tries a big boot, but Eddie hangs onto the top rope. He charges Kevin and hits a high knee, sending him into the ropes. Eddie bounces off the ropes and gives Kevin a dropkick to send him to the outside, and as he lands on his back, Alan rolls over with a Byer Bridge and gets the surprise three count.)

Winner: Alan Mayse

David: Alan Mayse, taking any opportunity for a win, just got one over on our MECCA World Champion! The Toughman Champion has won the main event on Go Time!

Dick: It can happen as quick as that. Eddie was concentrating on Kevin, but the third man in the ring wasn't as hurt as he first appeared and scored the pinfall.

David: One can only imagine what would happen if the Toughman Champion were to face off with the World Champion, but that could conceivably happen now. We'll be right back with the David Caldwell Project, where we'll finally get an answer from Nykk about his current predicament!

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Afternoon Delight" is playing, and David Caldwell has his set in the ring and a microphone.)

Caldwell: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the David Caldwell Project! This week, the highest rated segment on Go Time is proud to bring to you the man who first conceived this idea of the Midwestern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts. He's been faced with a bit of a dilemma in the last few weeks, and tonight in a David Caldwell exclusive, that's a DC Exclusive, not a fat, buttinski Bill Bicknell exclusive, I have the privilege of introducing the man who got me my start in this business, one of the co-owners of MECCA... for now... he is known as the Alpha Wolf and the King of the Cloverleaves and is a former MECCA and RCW/FPPVW Champion... Nykk!

("Destroy" hits and Nykk makes his way to the ring, accompanied by Lisa Letty, who is holding his hand all the way to the ring.)

David: Nykk is coming out here with Lisa Letty, and is hand in hand with his girlfriend... is this an indication of what he's decided?

Dick: I don't know, but this has certainly been weighing on Lisa's mind all night, and she's out here to hear what's up first hand.

Caldwell: Nykk... buddy... I was under the impression that this was a special one on one interview... so what's with the broad?

Nykk: Well, Caldwell, the reason that Lisa is out here right now is because what I'm about to say will affect her life as well as mine, and I want her to hear it from my own lips. She deserves that. (takes the mic) Now, I feel that I need to start this whole thing by addressing you great MECCA fans. If it wasn't for you, none of us would be here today after RCW went kaput, and I thank each and every one of you. It's true that you all made a much kinder, gentler Nykk, who was still rough around the edges, but has always had this promotion's best interests at heart. But in case you don't know what the fuss is all about, I'll provide a little recap. When I started MECCA, Katie Piehl and myself signed documents that would prevent the types of conflict of interest that you see in other promotions out there. One of the clauses was to state that as long as we were owners of MECCA, we could not pursue romantic relationships with the people below us, including the competitors of MECCA. Well, I'm sure you all remember MECCA's first show, where I was stripped of most of my booking power in the very first segment. I was still able to run things outside of the arena, but while I was in the arena, I was a competitor and nothing more, except for a short period of time when Katie was unable to fulfill her duties. Over time, I started thinking of myself more and more as a competitor and less as the boss, and I became more open with my fellow combatants. One of which was you, Lisa. You and I became friends, and I'm glad we did. You have had such a positive impact on my life, more than you even know. After a while... okay, so I was dense... after a long period of time, I was finally able to admit my romantic feelings for you, and it was such a relief to have someone there for me all the time. I can't begin to tell you how much I care for you, and always will. But then that ugly little clause reared its head a few weeks back, and I was faced with a decision. As owner of MECCA, I am not allowed to pursue a relationship with you, Lisa. If I do, I will be dismissed as co-owner, and my share of the company sold off. But I can still end our relationship and continue on with my dream, being able to run my own wrestling promotion. I've been wrestling these past few weeks, not in the ring, but in my own mind. What is for the best? What will lead to the satisfaction of all? What will make you happy? What will make me happy? What will make the board happy? What will make the fans happy? I believe that I've come to realize what is best... and Lisa, I wanted to share my decision with you in front of all these fans and all our co-workers because it's something that will affect everybody... what I've decided... I...

(Suddenly, "I'm a Soldier" hits and Trent Acid comes to the ring, smirking.)

David: Oh, what the hell is this? We're about to find out what Nykk's decision and he's interrupted by Trent Acid of all people? Doesn't this guy ever give up?

Dick: It's no secret that Acid has been after Lisa Letty for the past couple of months, though his pursuing of her was what allowed Nykk to realize his feelings to begin with... I don't think he's the person that Nykk or Lisa want to see right now.

(Nykk stares a hole through Acid as he gets in the ring.)

Caldwell: Why, Trent Acid, ladies and gentlemen! I don't know why you're out here, Trent, but what do you have to add to these proceedings?

Acid: Caldwell, I'm out here on behalf of the MECCA talent and crew to make sure that you, Nykk, make the right decision. Now, you've led MECCA to the forefront of the wrestling industry, and no one, including me, denies your worth as our boss. Nykk, when you started this company, you took on a responsibility. A responsibility to the company and its workers, and a responsibility for every athlete that comes through that curtain. It's not just about you anymore, because we're all in this together. But as soon as some rat, or I'm sorry, "lady wrestler" comes along, you forget your responsibilities to everyone around you and go off chasing skirts. We, the locker room, feel that it is your duty to live up to your responsibility. Therefore, we urge you to set aside this so-called relationship and resume your role in this company, and lead us all to our destiny. But don't worry, Lisa, while he can't have you, you'll still have me. My door is open to you anytime, baby. My locker room door... my bedroom door... my barn door...

(Acid goes to unzip his pants, but Nykk tackles him and starts hitting him with right hands. Lisa cheers him on as Caldwell flees. A horde of officials come down to separate the two, and Acid rolls out of the ring. Nykk gets to his feet and gets a mic.)

Nykk: Trent Acid... don't think I've forgotten about you through this entire thing. You've been so quick and eager to try and break my bones with that steel pipe that you always get a hold of, so before I came out here, I requested one more match between us from Katie Piehl. And it will happen at Summertime Showdown... that damn pipe will be suspended on a pole from that ring post. Our objective is to climb that pole and retrieve that pipe so it will be in play. And I promise you, on August 26, I will pay you back for all the sneak attacks, all the emotional damage to both myself and Lisa, and will leave you broken and useless.

David: Wow, a Pipe on a Pole Match added to an already stacked card for Summertime Showdown, but we're out of time this week and we still haven't found out Nykk's answer! Will he reveal the rest of what he was going to say next week?

Dick: I don't know, but he doesn't look to quick to reveal anything just now. His eyes haven't left Acid since he came out here.

(Nykk tries to get at Acid again, but he runs away as Lisa tries to hold Nykk back.)

David: We'll see you next week, fans!
