Rundown Results:
Killer Kanines b. Eccentrics
Kelly Schweickart b. Misery
Jack Fletcher b. The Human Tornado
Alan Mayse b. Andy Nathans
("Neocon" opening.)
David: We're here in Columbus, Ohio, as MECCA presents Go Time, and tonight Eddie Crowe defends the MECCA World Title against Trent Acid in the main event!
Dick: Plus we'll see Heather Star once again attempt revenge on Zoe Alexander in a rematch from Midsummer Night Slam.
David: And for some reason Cheesecake has challenged his fellow Eccentric the Human Tornado to a match tonight, and it will happen later. Maybe we'll find out what Cheesecake's motives are.
("Hit That" hits and Joey Sprinklers and Delirious make their way to the ring.)
David: Joey and Delirious are teaming once again this week, as Matt Sydal is out with a knee injury.
Dick: These two didn't exactly distinguish themselves last week, but Delirious can always be talked into these menial tasks such as keeping Joey employed.
("Still More Fighting" hits and Stage One make their way to the ring, along with David Caldwell.)
David: Jamie Chan and Ryan Saito will be challenging for the tag titles against the Pyro Twins at Liberty or Death, and Caldwell said earlier that he wants to get them ready.
Dick: We could be looking at the team that will dethrone Dusty Schneble and Jay Crowe. How great would it be for Caldwell to add the MECCA Tag Team Championship to his managerial resume?
(FINISH: Delirious goes for Shadows Over Hell, but Saito moves and Chan pushes Joey in the way. Joey takes the move, and Delirious takes Stage Completed. Saito covers and gets the three count.)
Winners: Stage One
David: Stage One take the victory, and go on to July 29 in Dayton for their shot at the titles.
Dick: And Joey Sprinklers goes back to the drawing board after his umpteenth failure.
(Backstage, Nykk is filling up a water bottle from a drinking fountain when Trent Acid gets in his face.)
Nykk: What do you want?
Acid: So I heard you talked to Lisa on the phone last week.
Nykk: Actually, I've been talking to her in some form every night since last week.
Acid: So what were you talking about?
Nykk: Wouldn't you like to know.
Acid: Well, I just thought you should know that after I win the MECCA Championship tonight, I'm taking Lisa out to the finest restaurant in town. I will not stop until she's mine, Nykk, no matter how you feel about it.
Nykk: Is that true?
Acid: I'm no liar.
Nykk: Yes, you are. Because if you weren't you would have known that Lisa is in fact not here this week. She's away training for a very special task.
Acid: She didn't mention anything about it in bed...
Nykk: Save it. You can enjoy all this attention while it lasts, because should you happen to win the title tonight, I'll be more than happy to take it from you in Dayton. Because in addition to going for the Ladies' Title at Liberty or Death, in our match... Lisa will be the special guest referee.
Acid: What... how...
Nykk: Hey, I might not be able to book, but don't forget that I'm still co-owner of MECCA. I have other ways that I can use to my advantage at times. One of those things is hiring referees. And we just happened to have a position open for one night only. So I'll see you in Dayton, Trent.
(Nykk exits and Acid kicks the drinking fountain.)
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Dance Commander" hits and Heather Star makes her way to the ring.)
David: We're ready for action from the ladies' division of MECCA, and here comes Heavenly Heather Star!
Dick: Heather had her biggest profile match yet here in MECCA at Midsummer Night Slam, but unfortunately came up short. Tonight's her night to prove that she deserves to be in the upper echelon.
("TKO" hits and Zoe Alexander makes her way to the ring.)
David: Zoe Alexander had an attitude change last month, but unfortunately it happened right after she lost a tag match, and she took out her frustrations on Star.
Dick: Zoe is serious about competing for the Ladies' Title, and is well on her way with this new attitude of hers.
(FINISH: Star misses the Falling Star Press, and Zoe lifts her into a firewoman's carry and hits a double knee gutbuster. She bounces off the ropes for a clothesline, but Heather counters into a backslide for a two count. Zoe recovers quickly and floors Heather with a clothesline. She picks her up and hits a TKO, covering for the three count.)
Winner: Zoe Alexander
David: Zoe continues her climb in the women's rankings, and she could be looking to challenge the winner of the LuFisto/Lisa Letty match at Liberty or Death.
Dick: What great potential matches those would be.
David: We understand that cameras have caught up with Ronin Fox and Cynric, who are headed toward Katie Piehl's office. Let's go see what's up with them.
(Backstage, Ronin Fox and Cynric are standing in front of Katie Piehl's office. Fox is pounding on the door.)
Fox: Katie!
(Katie enters from down the hall.)
Katie: What?
Fox: We've been looking all over for you! You saw what happened to us last week, right? We want those CDT guys in another match. Beating them once proves nothing. This time we end it for good.
Katie: You want another match with them, huh?
Cynric: And after we beat them to a bloody pulp, we want our rematch for the tag titles.
Katie: You mean the title shot that you blew by cheating back at Midsummer Night Slam?
Fox: That's beside the point. We know we can beat the Pyro Twins, and we just need one more opportunity.
Katie: All right. I'll make this match for Liberty or Death, and if you two manage to win, you'll get your rematch for the tag titles. Happy?
(Katie walks away, muttering about pushy employees.)
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Cool" hits and the Human Tornado makes his way to the ring.)
David: We're back on Go Time, and we're set for a bit of competitive rivalry from the Eccentric Alliance as the Human Tornado makes his way out here.
Dick: The Tornado has a big challenge in front of him, so let's see if he can rise to the occasion.
("It's Raining Men" hits and Cheesecake makes his way to the ring.)
David: Speaking of rising to the occasion, Cheesecake seems out to prove lately that he can hang with anyone here in MECCA, and came very close to receiving a World Title shot a couple of weeks ago.
Dick: He's been frustrated lately, which seems to have distanced him from his own teammates, hence this match.
(FINISH: Tornado goes for the Tornado DDT, but Cheesecake counters into a northern lights suplex for a two count. Cheesecake rolls through and attempts the Long Kiss Goodnight, but Tornado escapes and hits Cheesecake with a dropkick. He goes for a back suplex, but Cheesecake escapes and lands behind Tornado, hitting him with the Screw-Driver. He covers and gets the three count.)
Winner: Cheesecake
David: Cheesecake picks up a victory, and an impressive one at that, putting away his own friend the Human Tornado.
(Cheesecake gets a mic.)
Cheesecake: Tornado, you gave me a hell of a conte'th't, and I'll give you credit for that. But now I'm onto bigger and better things! Alan May'th, you've got that Toughman Title, and now you have a title defense with my name on it. I challenge you for that belt at Liberty or Death. Be there if you have the gut'th!
("Seven Nation Army" hits and Alan Mayse makes his way to the ring.)
David: Alan Mayse heard the challenge from the back, and he's not going to let it go unanswered. Our fighting Toughman Champion is on his way to the ring.
Dick: You better believe if you call out Mayse he'll have something to say about it.
(Mayse takes the mic.)
Mayse: Cheesecake, I've known you for a long time. It's taken you a long time to get here, but I do believe you're ready for a serious singles run. This Toughman Title may be challenged for by anyone, and since a challenge was issued, I must accept it. But just because I have to does not mean I don't want to. At Liberty or Death, I gladly step into the ring with you. And when that happens, I will show the world that though you're ready... there is no amount of preparation that will get you ready to... face me...
(Alan is interrupted as Cheesecake's cell phone rings. He answers it and exits the ring, talking happily to whoever is on the other end.)
David: Alan was cut off by Cheesecake's phone. It must be someone really important, because this is the second time this has happened.
Dick: The important thing, however, is that we have a Toughman Title match for Liberty or Death, live on FSN, as Alan defends against Cheesecake.
David: When we come back, we'll see the MECCA Monster himself, Kevin Stone in action. Stay with us.
(Commercial Break)
(In the office, Katie Piehl is standing in front of her desk.)
Katie: Good evening, fans, I just wanted to take this quick opportunity to invite you all to join us in ten days at Liberty or Death, as we will be emanating from the Homefront, the Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio, live on FSN. As you all know, a dream partner tag match will be the main event, as the MECCA Champion Eddie Crowe and Low Ki, regardless of whether he wills it or not, will face Bryan Danielson and Kevin Stone. Two more matches were made tonight, including a rematch between Ronin Fox and Cynric and the Concession Dream Team, as well as a Toughman Title match between Alan Mayse and Cheesecake. This joins a full card as LuFisto puts her Ladies' Title on the line against her former student Lisa Letty, and...
(Gail Kim barges in.)
Gail: What the hell is going on around here? Little Lisa, the First Lady of MECCA, gets first crack at LuFisto? I'm the former champ, and I want my rematch.
Katie: Not to upset you, but after you behaved as Ladies' Champion, you're lucky you're even still in the title picture, Gail. Yes, you did carry that title for seven months, and you'll get your chance. But Lisa will get the first shot at the belt. But as I was about to say, I've booked a Triangle Match to take place at Liberty or Death. You will take on Zoe Alexander and Kelly Schweickart, and the winner of that match will be the number one contender to the Ladies' Title.
Gail: So all I've got to do is stretch those two and I've got my shot?
Katie: That's right.
Gail: Then that's how it will have to be. And this time there will be none of that hardcore crap to prevent me from taking my title back.
(Gail storms out of the office.)
(In the arena, "At the End of the Rainbow" hits and Kevin Stone makes his way to the ring.)
David: Another match made for Liberty or Death, as Gail Kim, Kelly Schweickart and Zoe Alexander will compete for a shot at the Ladies' Title. But right now, the MECCA Monster is ready to make an impact here on Go Time.
Dick: Stone was hand picked by the American Dragon Bryan Danielson as his partner for the main event of Liberty or Death, but Low Ki, Eddie's partner, still hasn't shown up here on Go Time to show his support. There could still be some bad feelings from back in May.
("The Immigrant Song" hits and Concession Boy makes his way to the ring, selling hot dogs out of a tray.)
David: One half of the Concession Dream Team, and a member of the Eccentric Alliance, Concession Boy, will have a tall task in front of him. But if he wins, he takes Stone's Contender Star spot, and moves up the ranks.
Dick: Concession Boy and Dreamo are marked men as far as Fox and Cynric are concerned. But right now he'll be lucky if he makes it to Liberty or Death.
(FINISH: CB counters the Stone Crusher into a hurricanrana. He whips Stone into the corner, but gets reversed. Stone charges, but CB gets his feet up. He goes to the second rope and jumps off into a swinging DDT on Stone. He covers and gets a two count. He goes to the top rope and attempts the Xander Construction Crash, but Stone gets a boot up into his face. He gives CB the Monster Bomb and covers for the pin.)
Winner: Kevin Stone
David: Kevin Stone dispatches his opponent and shows why Danielson picked him as his partner.
Dick: Keep in mind that Stone has been unable to beat Eddie thus far here in MECCA, but he is perfectly capable of hurting him, and that may be why he was chosen.
David: Speaking of the MECCA World Champion, Bill Bicknell has him in the back right now.
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Eddie Crowe.)
Bill: Eddie, up next you defend your MECCA Championship against Trent Acid, and then at Liberty or Death, you have the dream partner tag match against Bryan Danielson and the man we just saw in action, Kevin Stone. You chose Low Ki as your partner, but when you called him out last week, he didn't show and you got beat down by your opponents for it. Have you had any contact with Low Ki since then?
Eddie: I was given the chance to choose anybody in MECCA to be my partner, and I chose the man who gave me the toughest battle of my career back at Punked Out. Low Ki, I respect the hell out of you for that, but I hope you don't hold a grudge because you came out on the losing end. You shook my hand like a man, but last week you didn't show up. You'll be in my corner at Liberty or Death, because it's your job to be there, but mark my words... if we're not on the same page, we will lose. Do you want that on your win/loss record that you lost a match to Danielson and Stone? I sure don't. So if you truly want to kick some ass on July 29, please, get in touch with me. And Acid, don't think I've overlooked you. I've been preparing for this since you won your title match two weeks ago. Up next, your recent success comes to a crashing halt. Just like everyone I've faced, you will be looking up at the lights when this is all over, and those very lights will dry the tears of your sorrow.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "I'm a Soldier" hits and Trent Acid makes his way to the ring.)
David: It's time for the main event, a match that will be for the MECCA Championship. Trent Acid won this opportunity two weeks ago by surviving a random partner tag match, and then won a Four Corners Match later in the evening. He also got a win over Nykk a few weeks ago, and will be facing him for the MECCA Title at Liberty or Death if he should win it here.
Dick: And as we found out earlier, Lisa Letty will be the special guest referee in that match, as Nykk posted a job opening for one night only, and hired Lisa for the job.
("Noots" hits and Eddie Crowe makes his way to the ring.)
David: Eddie Crowe has been a dominant MECCA Champion since he won it at the MECCA Challenge II, and has even made the belt into a World Title.
Dick: He has a tough schedule coming up, though, and it begins with this match.
David: Let's send it up to Jared Schrunk for the introductions.
Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, this is the main event of Go Time! It is scheduled for one fall, and is for the MECCA World Championship! Introducing first, the challenger... from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania... weighing in at 195 lbs... Treeeent Aciiiiid! And his opponent... from Bellbrook, Ohio... weighing in at 215 lbs... he is the MECCA World Heavyweight Champion... Eddiiiiie Croooooowe!
(FINISH: Acid goes for the Yakuza Kick, but Eddie ducks and rolls him up for a two count. He whips Acid into the corner, but gets reversed. Acid charges, but Eddie catches him in a headscissors and gives him a hurricanrana into the second turnbuckle. He sends Acid down with a back elbow and goes for the Eddie Dive. Acid rolls out of the way and Eddie lands on his feet. Acid kicks him and goes for the Shovel Driver, but Eddie escapes and gains his footing on the second turnbuckle. He gives Acid a swinging flatliner and then locks in the Crowe's Nest. Acid tries to roll over into a pinning predicament, but Eddie rolls with him and keeps the hold applied. Acid finally taps out.)
Winner: Eddie Crowe
David: Acid gave it all he had, but on this night Eddie Crowe would not be denied as he retains the MECCA World Title!
Dick: What a great defense that was, and Eddie now has to worry about the American Dragon.
(As Eddie is posing with the belt, Bryan Danielson and Kevin Stone run down and attack him from behind. Stone gives Eddie a big boot, and Danielson locks in Cattle Mutilation. As Stone kicks away, "Fighter's Passion" hits and Danielson releases Eddie. He and Stone look to the entrance ramp for Low Ki, but he doesn't show up. They go back to pummeling Eddie, but Low Ki suddenly comes in from the crowd. He chops Danielson in the back of the neck, but Stone starts hitting him with forearms and whips him into the ropes. Ki hits them both with the Tidal Wave, and Danielson rolls out of the ring. Ki goes up top and hits a double stomp onto Stone. Danielson pulls him out of the ring as Low Ki poses for the crowd.)
David: Low Ki has come to the aid of his partner at Liberty or Death, and it looks like Eddie and Ki might be on the same page after all!
(Eddie gets up, and Low Ki extends his hand. Eddie shakes it as Stone tries to get back in the ring, but is held back by Danielson.)
David: Stone is not pleased at all at how Low Ki just embarrassed him, but these four will have to wait until Liberty or Death. Until next week, thank you for joining us on Go Time, fans!
