("Neocon" opening.)
David: Hello fans, once again MECCA presents Go Time and we are live from right here in Indianapolis, Indiana! Tonight, we will see a unique Wild Card opportunity as eight men compete for a title shot in just two weeks. There will be two random tag matches, followed by the winners facing off in a Four Way Elimination match at the end of the show.
Dick: Also, we'll see Lisa Letty take on Shadow later on in the show.
David: Plus Katie Piehl has news on the main event for Liberty or Death, and the Pyro Twins will be guests on the David Caldwell Project!
("I'm a Soldier" hits and Trent Acid and Delirious make their way to the ring.)
David: Here's our first team of the night, comprising the odd duo of Trent Acid and Delirious.
Dick: Acid has to be flying high after pinning Nykk last week, and even more jubilant that he doesn't have to face Nykk quite yet tonight.
("Did My Time" hits and Ronin Fox and Joey Sprinklers make their way to the ring.)
David: Ronin Fox looks like he'd rather be anywhere else than at the side of Joey Sprinklers.
Dick: He's used to having his brother back him up, but tonight he's going to have to compensate for Joey's inadequacies.
(FINISH: Joey gives Acid Da Sprinklanator and is about to cover when Fox tags himself in. He tells Joey to beat it. He and Joey argue, but Joey finally leaves the ring. Fox covers Acid for a two count, but Delirious breaks it up. Fox throws Delirious through the ropes, and Joey rams him into the guardrail. Fox whips Acid into the ropes, but gets reversed. Joey trips Fox while keeping an eye on Delirious, thinking that he tripped Acid. Fox gets up and yells at Joey and then walks into a Yakuza Kick from Acid. Acid covers and gets the three count.)
Winners: Trent Acid and Delirious
David: Acid and Delirious advance and will now be opponents at the end of the night. I think Fox was a little bit of a glory hog there, and he cost his team the match.
Dick: What are you talking about? Joey's the one who tripped the wrong guy!
David: We'll be back in a few minutes with our next tag match.
(Backstage, Huh is desperately trying to hold onto an elevated metal bar, but he's dangling and his feet are flailing. Cheesecake runs over and pulls him down.)
Cheesecake: Were you trying to do a pull up?
Huh: No, I was falling!
Cheesecake: What were you doing up there in the first... never mind. I'll see you in the ring.
Huh: Yeah, let's go.
Cheesecake: No, you don't under'th'tand. Do you even know how this tournament works?
Huh: Uh... if we beat our opponents, we move onto the finals, and then...
Cheesecake: No, it'th random. And we drew again'th't each other. We're opponents. Only one of us goe'th to the next round. Th'o we can't go to the ring together.
Huh: Oh, uh... well, this is awkward.
Cheesecake: Not for me. My path i'th becoming clearer.
(Cheesecake walks away.)
Huh: Huh?
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "It's Raining Men" hits and Cheesecake and Matt Sydal make their way to the ring.)
David: We're ready for our second random tag match, as Matt Sydal and Cheesecake look to move one step closer to a shot at Eddie Crowe on July 19.
Dick: We're seeing combinations that have never teamed before tonight, and it's interesting to see how these teams are going to work together.
("Destroy" hits and Nykk makes his way to the ring, followed by Huh who is desperately trying to dance to the unfamiliar music.)
David: Big opportunity for Nykk here, as he was recently knocked off the Contender Star by Cynric, and not only has a chance for a title shot, but a chance to get his hands on Acid in the finals.
Dick: He has to stay focused on business right now, as difficult as it is with Huh as your partner.
(FINISH: Nykk hits the Trinity on Sydal, but Trent Acid comes to ringside and pulls Nykk's leg, allowing Sydal to kick out. Nykk goes after Acid, and Huh tags him on the way out. Acid leads Nykk on a chase through the crowd as Huh clotheslines Sydal. He bounces off the ropes, but Cheesecake smacks him in the back of the head, allowing Sydal to hit a spinning heel kick. Sydal hits a standing moonsault and gets a two count. He goes for the Here It Is Driver, but Huh escapes and bulldogs Sydal. He lunges for the corner and tags Cheesecake out of instinct. Cheesecake gets in the ring as Sydal moves in, but the ref backs him off as Huh is in the ropes. Cheesecake kicks Huh below the belt and then gives him a northern lights throw to the center of the ring. Sydal hits a springboard twisting moonsault on Huh, covering for the three count just before Nykk gets back in the ring to break it up.)
Winners: Cheesecake and Matt Sydal
David: We have our finalists later tonight, as it will be Cheesecake vs. Matt Sydal vs. Delirious vs. Trent Acid for a shot at Eddie Crowe! But what was with Cheesecake giving the low blow to his longtime tag team partner?
Dick: Maybe he's as sick of Huh as the rest of us are.
David: At any rate, they were able to double team Huh for the win, though I don't think Sydal saw the low blow, and Nykk could not concentrate on the match, as the chance to get his hands on Acid right now was just too much for him. Right now, we're sending it to Katie Piehl for news on the Liberty or Death main event.
(In the office, Katie Piehl is standing in front of her desk.)
Katie: Good evening, fans, and let me first say congratulations to Cheesecake, Matt Sydal, Delirious and Trent Acid for making it to the finals tonight. One of these men will get a shot at Eddie Crowe on July 19, and I can't wait for that. However, another man with a guaranteed title shot is the American Dragon Bryan Danielson. Provided that Eddie Crowe retains, that will be the main event for Summertime Showdown on August 26. But on July 29, MECCA returns to its hometown of Dayton, Ohio, for Liberty or Death, live on FSN. Since there will be no World Title match on the show, I've decided that Eddie Crowe and Bryan Danielson will be featured in the main event, but in tag team action. I'm making a dream partner tag team match, where Eddie and Bryan can choose anyone on the MECCA roster to be their partner for the main event. I'm giving them a week, and expect their decisions next week. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the show, ladies and gentlemen, after this short commercial break.
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, Nykk is unlacing his boots when Lisa Letty comes up to him. Nykk looks up at her.)
Nykk: It didn't go too well.
Lisa: I know, I was watching. Look, if you were going after Acid for me, I really think you should concentrate on your own career and not worry...
Nykk: But you are the reason I want to pound that little bastard into the ground. Do you know what feuding with Trent Acid gets me? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. He's not on the Contender Star so I can't take his spot, he doesn't have a title... but Lisa, I've really gotten to know you over the past seven or eight months, and it's made me realize... that I would do... anything...
Lisa: Yes?
Nykk: To... block all distractions and help you achieve your goals. Are you going to accept LuFisto's challenge?
Lisa: I told LuFisto that I would accept her challenge when I did something to earn it. I haven't really done that lately thanks to other... well, welcome distractions. But that's why I requested this match with Shadow tonight. I know that if I can beat her, I'll truly be ready for another run with the belt.
(Nykk stands up.)
Nykk: Hug for luck.
(He embraces her as "Edge of Seventeen" starts over the PA.)
Lisa: Thanks. Gotta go.
(She pats him on the cheek and exits.)
(In the arena, Lisa's music continues to play, and she makes her way to the ring.)
David: Lisa Letty, the first ever MECCA Ladies' Champion, is ready to pursue another run at the belt as it's her former trainer LuFisto who offered her the first shot at Liberty or Death. Now Lisa attempts to prove to herself that she's really ready.
Dick: The First Lady of MECCA is primed, and I think this whole thing with Nykk and Acid has really lit a fire under her.
("Gangsta Bitch" hits and Shadow makes her way to the ring.)
David: Shadow is perhaps Lisa's greatest rival here in MECCA as it was Shadow who betrayed Lisa to win the Ladies' Title from her, and took over leadership of the Dangerous Liaison that made that group a force for almost a year in the ladies' division.
Dick: Shadow wants to pursue the championship herself, and this would be a huge win for her if she can just get it.
(FINISH: Lisa goes for the Letty Driver, but Shadow blocks it. She lifts Lisa into a firewoman's carry, but Lisa counters into a sunset flip for two. Shadow rolls through, but Lisa hooks her arms and goes for the Letty Stretch. Shadow makes it to the ropes, and Lisa backs off. However, as she moves back in, Shadow pulls her into the second turnbuckle. Shadow gives her the Interceptor to the back of the head, but instead of covering, signals for the double stomp to the back. She goes to the top rope, but Lisa manages to crotch her on the top turnbuckle. She goes up with Shadow and gives her a butterfly suplex from the top, turning her over and applying the Letty Stretch. After a few moments, Shadow taps out.)
Winner: Lisa Letty
David: Lisa Letty beats her old rival, and that means that we have a match set for the Ladies' Title on July 29 as LuFisto defends against Lisa Letty!
Dick: What a great match we just saw, and Lisa has not lost a step at all.
David: When we come back, we'll have the David Caldwell Project with guests Jay Crowe and Dusty Schneble, the Pyro Twins.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band hits and David Caldwell makes his way to the ring.)
David: We're back, and my God, what is that awful music?
Dick: Apparently it's the new theme for David Caldwell as we're set for the David Caldwell Project!
David: Don't tell me he actually thinks that the fans want to hear this? Good God!
(Caldwell gets a mic.)
Caldwell: Ladies and gentlemen, it's now time for the David Caldwell Project! You know, every time this segment appears it's always the highest rated part of Go Time...
David: Maybe if he says that enough times, people will actually start to believe him.
Caldwell: And it's all thanks to yours truly, David Caldwell! But I digress. My guests this week are the MECCA Tag Team Champions, if you can believe that, two guys who I used to admire and respect, but really turned out to be a couple of cowards... Jay Crowe and Dusty Schneble, the Pyro Twins!
("Burning Times" hits and the Pyro Twins make their way to the ring. They go after Caldwell but he exits the ring.)
Caldwell: Hey, wait a minute, you two. I just want to have an intelligent conversation with you.
(Jay and Dusty calm down as Caldwell gets back in the ring.)
Caldwell: Now, you two have been tag champs for quite some time, but lately it appears that you've been losing some steam. After all, you didn't win cleanly at Midsummer Night Slam but got a DQ win over Ronin Fox and Cynric, who looked like they were about to take those belts from you. But you have yet to grant them a rematch for those titles to determine a clear victor.
Jay: Let me set the record straight, Caldwell. We're the Pyro Twins. That means if anybody wants a fight, they've got one. The only problem is, as champions there are too many battles to fight, so we need to schedule our beatings so as to give the fans the best possible showings. If Fox and Cynric wanted a rematch, they would have asked for one.
Caldwell: All right, but what about other teams who have earned title shots? Teams like, say...
Dusty: You're going to say those Stage One punks, right? I know that's why you wanted us out here, Caldwell. You think you can goad us into accepting a challenge from Stage One. Well, let's make that real easy. We accept, but we know that you won't let it be. When we step into the ring with them, you will do everything in your power to interfere and cost us our titles. So our purpose tonight was not to give you what you want, but to ensure that there are no outside distractions when that match happens.
(Dusty swats the mic out of Caldwell's hand, and Jay grabs him by the collar. However, Stage One emerges from under the covered table of the David Caldwell Project set and attack Dusty and Jay. They hit Stage Completed on Dusty, and then Chan whips Jay into the ropes. He lifts him into the air and Saito gives him Go to Sleep on his way down. Caldwell smirks and grabs the mic.)
Caldwell: You heard them, ladies and gentlemen. The Pyro Twins' next challengers will be Jamie Chan and Ryan Saito, Stage One! Soon to be your new MECCA Tag Team Champions!
("Still More Fighting" hits and Stage One holds up the tag belts.)
David: What an ass Caldwell is. Jay and Dusty accepted his challenge, and he had them attacked anyway.
Dick: They were going after him. That's why Stage One was formed, to protect David Caldwell from unruly guests.
David: When we come back, Bryan Danielson will be in action, but first Bill Bicknell is with Toughman Champion Alan Mayse.
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Alan Mayse.)
Bill: Alan Mayse, on the last pay-per-view Midsummer Night Slam, you didn't have a Toughman Title defense scheduled, as you were a part of the Six Man Apocalypse match, but we have Liberty or Death coming up on July 29, and everyone wants to know if you're going to have an opponent.
Alan: Actually, Bill, I have several challenges for that date, and trust me, I'll pick the most deserving one to get a shot at this title. When I won this belt, people questioned how I would hold up in these special Toughman title matches. But I think I've acquitted myself well, and like I said, I plan on breaking my personal record that I started with the RCW Title. Anyone who wants a piece of me, come get it, but I'm telling you right now, no one and I do mean no one is taking the Toughman Title from me.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "The Immigrant Song" is playing, and Concession Boy is in the ring.)
David: We're back, and Concession Boy from the Eccentric Alliance is getting ready for action.
Dick: His partner Dreamo got beaten down by Fox and Cynric last week, and I've been hearing that CB and Dreamo are looking to challenge them as soon as Dreamo is healed and ready to go.
("The Final Countdown" hits and Bryan Danielson makes his way to the ring.)
David: The American Dragon is going to the main event of Summertime Showdown, but who will be his partner in the dream partner tag match that will main event Liberty or Death?
Dick: He's got a week to decide, and if it's Bryan Danielson, you know he'll pick a good one.
(FINISH: CB goes to the top rope, but Danielson crotches him. He goes up for a superplex, but CB fights him with right hands. Danielson counters with a shinbreaker onto the second turnbuckle and then locks in a bridging figure-four. After a few moments, CB taps out.)
Winner: Bryan Danielson
David: Danielson picks up the win, and it's safe to say he will not be choosing Concession Boy as his partner.
Dick: I'm sure whoever his partner is will be whoever can do the most damage to Eddie Crowe.
(Danielson gets a mic.)
Danielson: What you've just seen is an example of why I'm the best wrestler in the world today. Eddie Crowe, what you are is a flash in the pan, and I mean to prove it come Summertime Showdown. Even if you aren't MECCA Champion by then, when I win the title I will give you a title shot at my belt just to prove what I've been saying. But since that match was barely even enough to warm me up, I say you get your ass out here right now and I'll show you what's in store for you!
(Eddie Crowe comes out of the dressing room and marches toward the ring, followed by a swarm of officials. He gets on the apron, and Danielson comes over and slaps him. Eddie gets in the ring, but officials hold him and Danielson apart.)
David: We've got chaos in the ring right now as Danielson feels that he's the best in the world, but Eddie's not about to let anyone think that, not while he holds the belt! We'll be back with our main event!
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Hybrid Stigmata is playing, and Delirious is running around the ring.)
David: It's time for the finals of this Wild Card opportunity. The winner of this Four-Way match will receive a title shot against Eddie Crowe in two weeks.
Dick: It's interesting that a guy like Delirious makes it to the finals because he had a competent partner, while guys like Ronin Fox and Nykk were eliminated.
("It's Raining Men" hits and Cheesecake makes his way to the ring.)
David: Cheesecake is serious tonight. He wants to face Eddie Crowe for the MECCA Championship.
Dick: We've been wondering if he was going to break out, and tonight may be do or die for him.
("I'm a Soldier" hits and Trent Acid makes his way to the ring.)
David: Acid is so proud of himself for costing Nykk an opportunity to be in this match. Of course, if Acid wins the title, there's a good chance he'll be facing Nykk in the near future.
Dick: Acid has arguably been the breakout star of the summer so far, and we'll see if he can keep riding that momentum.
("My 7th Rib" hits and Matt Sydal makes his way to the ring.)
David: Matt Sydal is a young up and comer, and this is a big chance for him tonight.
Dick: We'll see if he's ready to be in the top tier and be a player here in MECCA.
(FINISH: Nykk comes out as Acid is bouncing off the ropes for the Yakuza Kick on Delirious, and pulls his foot. Acid trips, and then turns around to yell at Nykk. Delirious rolls him up, but it gets broken up at two by Cheesecake. He gets hit with a spinning heel kick from Sydal, and then Sydal goes to the top rope. Acid pushes him off, and Sydal sails into the guardrail. Delirious charges Acid, but Acid throws him to the outside, right into Nykk. He then gives Cheesecake the Shovel Driver and covers for the three count.)
Winner: Trent Acid
David: Acid just won the match with Howling Moon II! Just another slap in the face to Nykk.
Dick: Whatever works. Acid's used that move before too. Nykk doesn't have a copyright on it.
David: He's never used that here in MECCA before, though. Nykk is going to be enraged once again when he gets up. We'll see you next week, fans, and be sure to join us two weeks from now as we'll see Crowe vs. Acid for the World Title!
