Quick Rundown Results:
LuFisto b. Zoe Alexander
Killer Kanines b. Delirious and Cheesecake
Andy Nathans b. Joey Sprinklers
Pyro Twins b. Ballard Brothers
("Neocon" opening.)
David: MECCA is making its debut here in Toledo, Ohio, at Savage Hall, for Go Time! I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and tonight the last of the first round matches of the Toughman Tournament will take place!
Dick: But in the main event, brothers will collide as Ronin Fox takes on Cynric!
David: I don't know that either wants this match to happen, but it's going to right here on Go Time. We'll also hear from Eddie Crowe, and he says that our tag team champs, the UK Wrecking Crew, should listen in.
("Breathe" by the Desired Response Theory hits and Cody Hawk makes his way to the ring.)
David: Someone the Ohio wrestling fans will be familiar with, Cody Hawk, is set for his tryout here in MECCA.
Dick: This match is also going to be part of the Toughman Tournament, so not only will the winner earn a spot here in MECCA, but they'll advance to the next round.
("My 7th Rib" by the Shins hits and Matt Sydal makes his way to the ring.)
David: Here comes one of the hottest young prospects in wrestling today, Matt Sydal.
Dick: This kid has a very crisp high-flying style, and though that doesn't scream tough, it gets the job done against his opponents.
(FINISH: Hawk goes for the Muscle Buster, but Sydal fights his way out of it and gives him a standing enzugiri. He bounces off the ropes, but gets turned inside out with a clothesline. Hawk covers and gets a two count. He goes to the top rope, but he takes too much time and Sydal gives him a dropkick. He goes up with him and hits the Cyclorama. Sydal covers and gets the three count.)
Winner: Matt Sydal
David: Sydal hits the belly-to-belly moonsault, the Cyclorama, and gets the pin over Cody Hawk. Say hello to the newest member of the MECCA locker room!
Dick: He's the first in his bracket to make it to the quarter-finals, but later on we'll see if those other two spots are filled by Jack Fletcher, the Wild Wolf, Dusty Schneble or Shane Ballard.
David: Right now, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Eddie Crowe.
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is with Eddie Crowe.)
Bill: Eddie, congratulations on advancing in the Toughman Tournament last week, but you've got a little ways to go before your next match, and I understand you have something to say to the UK Wrecking Crew.
Eddie: That's right. Andy Nathans, Jack Fletcher, I told you that after I got my revenge on Acid, I'd be coming for you two. Guess what? Your time has come. I've just come from Katie Piehl, and I've been granted a match with one of you this Saturday at Snowed In. Now who's it going to be? I had such a tough time deciding, Bill, that I'm just going to flip a coin.
(He takes a quarter out of his pocket.)
Eddie: If it's heads, I take Nathans's head and stick it up his own ass, and if it's tails, I'll beat up Fletcher so bad that he won't have any choice but to turn tail and run out of the arena.
(He flips the coin and it comes up heads.)
Eddie: Oh, Nathans, sorry about your luck. This Saturday, I'm coming to end this. You may keep slipping out of the grasp of Dusty and my brother, but I can and will get to you. If there's one thing that C.M. Punk taught me, it was not only to destroy the body, but to destroy the soul. I promise you, Andy Nathans, after Snowed In you will never be the same.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Kobrakai" hits and the Wild Wolf makes his way to the ring.)
David: The Toughman Tournament continues, as one half of the Killer Kanines makes his way to the ring. We'll see if the Wild Wolf fares better than his partner, who went toe to toe with Low Ki a few weeks ago, but ended up getting disqualified.
Dick: I don't know how accomplished the Wild Wolf is in singles competition, but he's going to face another primarily tag team wrestler. This should be interesting.
("Ironman" hits and Jack Fletcher makes his way to the ring, accompanied by Andy Nathans and the Grenadiers.)
David: Both of our tag team champions, along with the Grenadiers, are on their way to ringside, and I guess it wasn't in the cards that Fletcher is going to fight fair.
Dick: Fletcher "lost" a coin toss before the break held by Eddie Crowe, to see which member of the UK Wrecking Crew he would be facing this Saturday on FSN, but it's been confirmed that it will be Andy Nathans in the ring with Eddie.
(FINISH: Wolf hits Fletcher with the Twig Snap and covers, but Nathans puts Fletcher's foot on the bottom rope. The Wild Wolf goes after him, and Fletcher attempts to attack from behind. Wolf catches him with a double leg takedown and goes for the Kanine Kruncher. Fletcher makes it to the ropes, as Nathans helpfully pushes the rope closer to him. Wolf picks Fletcher up, but gets his eyes raked. Fletcher goes for a suplex, but Wolf escapes and rides him to the ropes, coming back with a roll up. He bridges, but Fletcher takes his shoulders off the mat and hooks Wolf's shoulders, pinning them to the mat instead.)
Winner: Jack Fletcher
David: Fletcher was successful after repeated cheating and interference, and I guess this is how he's going to prove his toughness.
Dick: Something I just thought of... if Dusty Schneble wins his match later on, he'll be in that Triangle Match with Fletcher, and there's nothing he can do about it. One Pyro Twin and one of the UK Wrecking Crew will have to hook it up.
(Nathans and Fletcher start to beat down the Wolf, but Anubis runs out, bowling through Grenadiers, and slides into the ring. The UKWC make a run for it.)
David: The UKWC didn't want any part of Anubis, and he didn't let ten supposed Royal Guards stop him from getting to his partner.
Dick: The Killer Kanines are out of the Toughman Tournament. They'll just have to get the next opportunity that comes along.
David: When we come back, Kelly Schweickart will take on Misery. Stay with us!
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "My Friend of Misery" hits and Misery makes her way to the ring.)
David: At Snowed In, Gail Kim will defend her Ladies' Championship against Kelly Schweickart, and this match was made last week when Misery complained about not getting any exposure on Go Time recently.
Dick: Misery is a great athlete, but seems stuck on the low end of the Dangerous Liaison. A win here could definitely boost her future prospects.
("Take It Off" hits and Kelly Schweickart makes her way to the ring.)
David: Kelly Schweickart has been going up against the Dangerous Liaison for about a year now, and at Snowed In she will... oh no!
(Gail attacks Kelly from behind with a chair. She hits her with the blunt end and then whacks her across the back. Misery comes out and helps beat down Kelly. They throw her into the ring, and Misery applies the Friendship Bracelet as Gail stomps away on Kelly. She gets the Ladies' belt and comes off the second turnbuckle with it, nailing Kelly in the head. They kick Kelly to the outside as some refs come out to take her to the back.)
David: What a dastardly attack by the Dangerous Liaison. You have to believe this was the plan all along.
Dick: Gail Kim wanted Kelly softened up for Snowed In, but... wait a minute...
(Lisa Letty charges down to the ring, and Kim bails. She slugs it out with Misery and ends up dropkicking her through the ropes. Lisa gets a mic.)
Lisa: Okay, this crap is going to stop right now. You two obviously came prepared for a fight, but let's see how you do when your opponent's back isn't turned? I'll take you on right now.
(Gail gets another mic.)
Gail: You want a match, Lisa? You've got one. But this is going to be a handicap match, and guess which side you're on.
(She and Misery get in the ring as Nikki Alvarado comes in and calls for the bell. Lisa holds her own, but the numbers game gets to her. Kelly notices what's going on as she's being helped to the back and fights free of the refs. She slides in and starts hitting Misery with rights, and puts her down to the mat as Lisa gives Gail a butterfly suplex. The Dangerous Liaison rolls out of the ring.)
David: Kelly wasn't just going to stand by and let Lisa get beat down for her sake. She's evened the odds and this is a tag team match now.
Dick: This isn't a good idea for Kelly. She may have a concussion after that belt shot, and she's got a big title match coming up.
(FINISH: Lisa gets the hot tag and takes down Gail with a flying clothesline. She knocks Misery off the apron with a running back elbow and then gives Gail a back body drop. She gets a waistlock, but Gail elbows her and whips her into the corner. She charges, but Lisa gets her feet up and gives Gail a bulldog from the second rope. She covers, but Misery breaks up the count. She tries to leave the ring, but Lisa dropkicks her through the ropes. She tags Kelly, and they give Gail a double flapjack. Kelly lifts her for a back suplex, but instead slams her face first into the mat. She goes up top, but Misery intercepts her and throws her off the top rope. She and Gail whip Kelly into the ropes and put their heads down, but Kelly kicks Gail and Lisa gives Misery a swinging neckbreaker. Kelly lifts Gail into a fireman's carry and then drops the back of her neck across her own knee. She climbs to the top and gives her the Kelly Cyclone as Lisa baseball slides into Misery. Kelly covers and gets the three count.)
Winners: Lisa Letty and Kelly Schweickart
David: Kelly Schweickart just pinned the Ladies' Champion heading into Snowed In!
Dick: Well, keep in mind that Kelly's first victory here in MECCA was over Gail Kim, but this should give her a huge boost of confidence when she competes for the Ladies' Title.
(As Kelly and Lisa celebrate, Gail pulls Kelly out of the ring and they fight up the aisle, with Misery limping after them. Before Lisa can leave the ring to help, Charlie Haas and Mrs. Jackie run in through the crowd. Jackie distracts Lisa as Haas gives her a stiff clothesline to the back of the head. They stomp on Lisa and Haas pulls her up by the hair, holding her so that Jackie can get in some kicks and slaps to the face. He throws her back down, and Jackie puts Lisa in the Haas of Pain. Officials come out to break it up, and Haas and Jackie leave her lying.)
David: I can't believe it. What an uncalled for attack by Charlie Haas and that wife of his.
Dick: Lisa started this whole thing. She decided to stick her nose in other people's business.
David: She was asked by Nykk to be in his corner to counteract Jackie at Snowed In. She didn't ask to be attacked from behind. Hopefully, Lisa is okay. We'll be back after a short break.
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, Lisa Letty is having her knee looked at by a paramedic when Nykk walks up.)
Nykk: Lisa, are you okay?
Lisa: Yeah, just a little banged up.
Nykk: I'm so sorry. By the time I saw what was happening, Haas and Jackie had already left. I came straight here from Katie's office.
Lisa: It's okay, Nykk.
Nykk: Well, I'm glad you're all right.
Lisa: Really?
Nykk: Yeah, now I won't have to worry about Jackie's interference at Snowed In. I promise, Haas is going to pay for what he did tonight.
Lisa: (disappointed) Oh... you're right, though. You won't have to worry about Jackie, because after what she did, I'm not going to wait for her to start something. I'm going to make sure that she doesn't get involved.
Nykk: I have some things to take care of. You're sure you're all right?
Lisa: I'm fine. No need to worry.
(Nykk pats her reassuringly on the shoulder and leaves.)
Lisa: (sighs) Men.
(Elsewhere, David Caldwell is standing by with Kevin Stone.)
Caldwell: Kevin, in just a few days at Snowed In you put your title on the line against your former tag team partner Cynric. Considering how you dominated him last summer, are you looking at this as an easy night?
Stone: Don't get me wrong, Caldwell, I've never had an easy night when I've been up against Cynric. I do give you that much, Cynric. You are a tough competitor. But you've never been able to break out and hold a major title like I have. I didn't need a thousand opportunities to get this belt, because I won it at my first one on one opportunity. And I've gotten just that much better since the last time we faced each other. Cynric, the beatings that I gave you back at Liberty or Death and Summer Showdown are nothing compared to what I have in store for you this Saturday. You can stand in my path all you like, because I'll just keep knocking you out of the way. Just don't annoy me too greatly, or the next time it happens I could just knock you off permanently.
Caldwell: The MECCA Monster is coming for his next victim at Snowed In, live on FSN this Saturday. Cynric, I get the feeling that you're in for a world of hurt, and I can't wait.
(In her office, Katie Piehl is pulling some papers off of a pile of them when someone knocks.)
Katie: Come in.
(Alan Mayse enters.)
Katie: Alan, hello.
Alan: You wanted to see me, Ms. Piehl?
Katie: Yes. As you know, on February 1, it will be Go Time's Night of Champions, where all of MECCA's titles will be defended. The challengers are being based off of their 2005 win/loss record, and in the tag team division, none other than the UK Wrecking Crew were ranked number one in 2005 with a record of 19-1-1.
Alan: What does that have to do with me?
Katie: Well, since they're already the tag team champs, that means they'll be defending the belts. And the next highest ranked team that is none other than Cynric and yourself with a record of 4-2. Therefore, I'm pleased to announce that you and Cynric will be receiving a tag title shot on that night.
Alan: Really?
Katie: The contract's right here. If you and Cynric could sign it and give it back to me, I'll book the match straight away.
(She hands him the contract.)
Alan: All right... yeah, I'll go see if I can find him.
(Alan leaves.)
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "The Goon's Theme" is playing and Shane Ballard is making his way to the ring.)
David: It looks like we have our first match for the Night of Champions, as Alan Mayse and Cynric have been granted a tag title shot due to their record in 2005. But right now, the last match of the first round in the Toughman Tournament is going to happen.
Dick: Two more members of tag teams will fight it out right here. Shane Ballard hopes to fare better than his brother, who was beaten by Alan Mayse.
("Burning Times" hits and Dusty Schneble makes his way to the ring.)
David: Dusty is one half of the Pyro Twins, but his partner Jay Crowe was already eliminated in this tournament, with a loss to Charlie Haas.
Dick: Dusty would love to move onto the next round, not only because it puts him one step closer to the Toughman Title, but because Jack Fletcher has made it there, along with Matt Sydal, and Dusty would love to finally get the chance to be in the same ring as a member of the UKWC.
(FINISH: Shane goes for a brainbuster, but Dusty fights his way out of it and hits a Death Valley Driver. He covers and gets a two count. He whips Shane into the ropes and goes for the Rope Burn, but Shane rakes the eyes. He goes for the brainbuster again, but Dusty refuses to be lifted and lifts Shane to dump him across the top rope. He gives him the Rope Burn II and covers for the three count.)
Winner: Dusty Schneble
David: Dusty moves on to the next round, where he will face Jack Fletcher and Matt Sydal!
Dick: Dusty looks extremely pleased with himself about that.
David: And the other quarter-final matches will be Joey Sprinklers vs. Low Ki vs. Alan Mayse, Trent Acid vs. Nykk vs. Charlie Haas and Ronin Fox vs. Concession Boy vs. Eddie Crowe.
Dick: It gets tougher from here on in, as the next round's matches will eliminate not one, but two men.
David: And up next is the main event. Brother vs. brother, Ronin Fox vs. Cynric when we return!
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, the Eccentric Alliance is having a meeting in the locker room.)
Cheesecake: Okay... a'th we all know, Th'nowed In is coming up in just a few days, and I've been told by Katie Piehl that one of u'th is going to be facing Ronin Fox, but she's leaving it up to u'th as to which it's going to be. I figured the fairest way to decide this would be to draw straws, but th'ince I don't have any...
Concession Boy: I have straws.
(He hands Cheesecake five soda straws.)
Cheesecake: Well, that solves that. Now whoever draws the shortest straw get'th the match.
(They all draw straws, with Medea drawing for Dreamo, and they hold them up only to realize that they're all the same size.)
Delirious: Bah?
Cheesecake: Yes, I th'ee your point. Okay, let's try this. A th'ilence game! The next person to th'peak ha'th to wrestle Fox.
Huh: Huh?
Cheesecake: Okay, that th'ettles it. Let'th get out of here.
(They all leave the locker room except for Huh.)
Huh: So who's got the match?
(In the arena, "Wherever I May Roam" hits and Ronin Fox makes his way to the ring.)
David: That was an interesting way to decide who gets the match against this man, Ronin Fox, at Snowed In. Apparently we'll see a rematch from the first round of the Toughman Tournament, as Ronin Fox goes one on one with Huh.
Dick: But tonight he has to worry about his brother. I guess it was only a matter of time until these two had to face off.
David: Keep in mind that if Fox were to win tonight, he would be on the Contender Star, but since Cynric's match with Kevin Stone is already signed, he would still get his title shot.
("Soul Creation" hits and Cynric makes his way to the ring.)
David: Fox has been trying to convince Cynric that management will screw him over every time he has a title shot, but Cynric plans on silencing him by winning the belt this Saturday.
Dick: He has to be frustrated. He's trying to prove that he's not merely a contender for life.
(FINISH: Fox goes for the Tail End, but Cynric manages to throw him off. Fox falls to one knee, allowing Cynric to hit the Lift Off. He covers, and referee David Bowers makes the count, but Fox's foot falls under the bottom rope. Cynric confronts Bowers, but Fox dropkicks him into the ref. Bowers falls to his face, and Fox clotheslines Cynric. He goes outside and gets a chair. He takes a swing at his brother, but Cynric ducks and kicks Fox. He lifts him for the Shock Cannon even though Fox is still holding the chair. Fox hits Cynric in the head with it, but takes the impact of the Shock Cannon as Cynric falls. They both lay on the mat, but Cynric gets up first. He has trouble standing and uses the chair for balance. Bowers gets back up and sees Cynric with the chair and an unconscious Fox. He tells Cynric he's going to disqualify him, but Cynric argues with him. Finally, Bowers pulls the chair away. As he gets rid of it, Fox hits Cynric with a low blow and rolls him up with an inside cradle, getting the three count.)
Winner: Ronin Fox
David: Fox picks up the victory, but what dastardly means! I can't believe he just screwed over his own brother.
Dick: And now Cynric has no momentum going into Snowed In. If he loses that match, he'll have to work his way back onto the Contender Star.
David: Thanks for watching, fans, and we will see you this Saturday in Chicago Ridge!
(Fox retreats up the aisle as Cynric stares a hole through Bowers.)
