("Neocon" opening.)
David: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Agora Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio. This is Go Time, presented by MECCA as we count down to Snowed In, which will air live on FSN in just ten days.
Dick: We know that Cynric will challenge Kevin Stone for the MECCA Championship, but for tonight, we've got six-man tag action. Nykk, Alan Mayse and Cynric will take on Kevin Stone, Charlie Haas and Low Ki!
David: Plus, the Toughman Tournament continues with three first round matches. And the match set up last week has been approved by Katie Piehl. Kelly Schweickart will take on Shadow, with the winner facing Gail Kim for the title at Snowed In.
("The Immigrant Song" hits and Concession Boy makes his way to the ring, selling drinks to fans.)
David: The Toughman Tournament goes on, as this week and next week will be the second half of our first round matches. Opponents were drawn at random for this unique tournament, and the Concession Dream Team is going to be forced to wrestle each other.
Dick: I don't know that I'd trust this guy enough to buy a drink from him. He probably spits on the bottles.
("Sweet Dreams" hits and Dreamo stumbles down the aisle, being pushed by Medea Knight.)
David: The narcoleptic Dreamo is on his way to the ring, and as always, he looks like he'd rather be taking a nap.
Dick: You think he's been awake long enough to even take in that he's wrestling his partner?
(FINISH: Dreamo hits a second rope legdrop on CB, but promptly passes out. Referee Keith Young starts the count, and CB is up by seven. He sees Dreamo asleep and covers him. However, Medea sets off the alarm clock and Dreamo springs to life. He kicks out and then starts dashing around the ring, doing an Ultimate Warrior imitation. He clotheslines CB multiple times and then lifts him into a gorilla press. He slams CB to the mat and then bounces off the ropes, going for a big splash. He hits it, but CB rolls him over into an inside cradle for the three count.)
Winner: Concession Boy
David: Concession Boy picks up the victory, and will represent the Eccentric Alliance in the quarter-finals. If Huh doesn't win tonight, he may be the only Eccentric Alliance member to move on.
Dick: Yeah, the only way these idiots could advance is in a situation like this, where one of them had to.
David: Right now, Katie Piehl is standing by with some news about the February 1 Go Time.
(In her office, Katie Piehl is standing in front of her desk.)
Katie: Hello, fans, and welcome to another edition of Go Time. One thing that MECCA has striven for in its short history is to take heed of its workers' successes, or lack thereof. This is what led to the formation of the Contender Star, but for the past year, we have also been keeping tabs on everyone's win/loss record. And if you go to the MECCA website in a week, you can take a look at the win/loss record for 2005, which has been divided into three divisions, for the men, the ladies and the tag teams. In keeping with rewarding our competitors who win, on February 1, Go Time will be having a Night of Champions, as it were, where all the titles in MECCA will be on the line. And the highest ranked workers in the divisions, who don't already hold a title or have left the promotion, will be given a title shot on that night. This is our way of rewarding our wrestlers for all their hard work in 2005, and rewarding you, our fans, for your support. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of the show.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Gangsta Bitch" hits and Shadow makes her way to the ring.)
David: We heard it just before the break, on February 1, MECCA's biggest winners of 2005 will be rewarded with title shots. It should be great.
Dick: And the winner of this match will be rewarded with a title shot as well. Shadow thought she was going to get the match against her friend Gail Kim, but Gail had an idea for this match after Kelly Schweickart interjected herself.
("Take It Off" hits and Kelly Schweickart makes her way to the ring.)
David: Kelly took some initiative last week, and we'll see if it pays off right here.
Dick: Kelly definitely has what it takes to be a champion, and with almost a year in MECCA under her belt, she has proven to be as tough a competitor as anyone.
(FINISH: Shadow gives Kelly the Skullbuster, and then locks in a dragon sleeper, but Kelly fights the bodyscissors. She manages to turn over and rams Shadow into a corner. She backs up and charges, and just ducks as Shadow tries the Interceptor. She gives Shadow a Samoan drop and then goes to the top rope, hitting the Kelly Cyclone. She covers and gets the pin.)
Winner: Kelly Schweickart
David: Kelly gets a pinfall victory over Shadow, and she will now go on to face Gail Kim for the belt at Snowed In on January 21!
Dick: That should be quite a match, and interesting that both ladies made their MECCA debut against each other almost one year ago. Now they've come full circle, wrestling for the Ladies' Title.
(Kelly sprints around ringside, high fiving fans as she goes.)
David: It's celebration time for Kelly, but the work has just begun.
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Nykk.)
Bill: Nykk, congratulations on winning your Toughman Tournament match last week, even though you came up short in the Supernova Spectacle. But I understand you have something different in mind for Snowed In now, something that doesn't concern titles.
Nykk: Yes, Bill. You see, if it wasn't for Charlie Haas, I would be defending a title at Snowed In. But since he saw fit to get involved in my match at New Year's Knockout, I found it only fitting to repay him in kind and dash his hopes of getting a title shot last week. So now that neither of us have anything going on at Snowed In, Haas, I've requested a match for the two of us on January 21, live from Chicago Ridge. And guess what? I've been granted that match. You want to prove you're tough, Haas? Face the former champ. Face the Alpha Wolf, the King of the Cloverleaf... face me if you've got what it takes. As for you, Mrs. Jackie, I have a special announcement for you, because if you decide to get involved, you will be stretched. Not by me, of course, as I would never stoop so low as to attack a woman, though I have had the Pyro Twins do it for me before. No, if you get involved, Jackie, you will be stretched... the Letty Way.
(The camera pulls back to reveal Lisa Letty standing beside Nykk.)
Lisa: That's right, Jackie, my good friend Nykk has asked me, the two-time former Ladies' Champion, to be in his corner. So if you even think about doing anything to affect the outcome of the match, the one who is supposedly "tough enough" will find herself on the wrong end of the Letty Stretch.
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, David Caldwell is standing by with Joey Sprinklers.)
Caldwell: Joey, despite you coming up a big fat loser in 2005, somehow you managed to move ahead in the Toughman Tournament. However, in two weeks, it could very well come to a crashing halt when you face Alan Mayse and your rival Low Ki in a Triangle Match.
Joey: Ya think I'm worried about that? I know that it seems like I'm outmatched here in MECCA, but in two weeks, Mayse and Low Ki are going to find out just how well this underdog has learned his lessons. Boys, you haven't seen half of what Joey Sprinklers is capable of, and if I didn't prove my toughness at No Regrets, I'll prove it now when I become the first MECCA Toughman Champion. Biatch.
(In the locker room, Shadow is sitting on a bench with an icepack on her neck. Gail Kim is standing over her.)
Gail: Well, it's a good thing you had that match out there, huh? I've said all along I want the best competition for this Ladies' Title, and as it turns out, my own teammate isn't up to the challenge.
Shadow: Leave me alone.
Gail: I guess that at Snowed In, I'll just have to...
(Misery enters.)
Misery: Gail, we need to talk.
Gail: What's up?
Misery: I haven't wrestled on Go Time in months, and it's starting to make me MISERABLE! And when I get miserable, someone gets hurt. I want to move up the ladder as much as anyone, yet I never seem to get a fair chance...
Gail: Whoa, girl, I'll tell you what. Why don't you go ask Katie Piehl for a match with Kelly Schweickart next week? Get her ready for her match with me on January 21, if you know what I mean.
Misery: Yeah... I think I'll do that.
Gail: Who knows, if you make a good job of it, you could be the next challenger for the Ladies' Title.
(Misery nods and leaves the locker room. Gail rolls her eyes.)
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Wherever I May Roam" hits and Ronin Fox makes his way to the ring.)
David: Ronin Fox is set to compete in the Toughman Tournament, but unfortunately for him, it's against another Eccentric Alliance member.
Dick: Fox has had a string of bad luck with that group, starting when he lost his spot on the Contender Star to Delirious, and it continued at New Year's Knockout when he was pinned by Cheesecake.
("Pajamarama" hits and Huh makes his way to the ring.)
David: Huh would love to win some singles gold, and if he can continue this trend of the Eccentric Alliance vs. Ronin Fox, he may very well advance.
Dick: Normally I'd say no way, but it could be a possibility. Fox needs to do something to turn the tide here.
(FINISH: Fox goes for the Tail End, but Huh throws him off and hits a bulldog. He goes to the top rope and tries a moonsault, but Fox gets his knees up. He gives Huh a standing enzugiri and then goes to the top, hitting the Fox Fire. He covers and gets the three count.)
Winner: Ronin Fox
David: And Ronin Fox breaks his losing streak, pinning Huh in the middle of the ring!
Dick: It's not much, but it's a start.
David: Unfortunately for him, Fox has more Eccenric Alliance members to contend with. In the next round, he'll face Concession Boy, and also his brother if he wins his match against Eddie Crowe later on. We'll have that match when we come back.
(Backstage, the Pyro Twins are in Katie Piehl's office.) J
ay: Ms. Piehl, we just want to say that we know we had a rocky year in 2005, with all the turmoil going on in our lives. But we're ready to make a fresh start of it in 2006, and we plan on shooting straight to the top of the tag team division and finally getting our hands on the UK Wrecking Crew.
Dusty: So whoever you want us to beat, lay them out before us. We're ready to tear apart whoever we have to and make it to the top.
Katie: Believe me, you two, I want to see the Pyro Twins vs. The UK Wrecking Crew as much as you do, and I definitely think it can happen. I know you two are one of the most talented teams in the world, so I plan on giving you this opportunity to prove yourselves. I'm bringing in Takemura and Sakota for a match at Snowed In. If you can win, you'll definitely be on your way to earning a title shot. What do you say?
Jay: I say that on January 21, there will be no Snowed In. Because we'll melt that snow until Takemura and Sakota are trapped in a ring of fire.
Dusty: And when we get our chance at Nathans and Fletcher, there are no amount of Grenadiers that will stop us. MECCA will have new tag team champs, and we will lord over the title picture for a long, long time.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Noots" hits and Eddie Crowe makes his way to the ring.)
David: Eddie Crowe is out to compete in the Toughman Tournament after coming up short in the Supernova Spectacle last week.
Dick: Eddie vowed that after New Year's Knockout he'd be coming after the UK Wrecking Crew, but he's got his hands full in the Toughman Tournament right now.
("Soul Creation" hits, but Cynric doesn't make his way to the ring.)
David: Where's Cynric at?
(An official comes out and confers with Jared Schrunk.)
Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, according to Cynric himself, he apologizes for not coming out here, but he has withdrawn from the Toughman Tournament in order to concentrate on his MECCA Championship opportunity at Snowed In. However, he has provided us with a replacement.
("Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus hits and Nate Webb makes his way to the ring.)
David: Well, I'm told that this man is called Nate Webb, and he's a wrestler fairly well known in the Midwest independent scene.
Dick: The fans were expecting Cynric, but I guess that he realizes that with this MECCA Championship match against Kevin Stone coming up, he can't have his head in two places.
(FINISH: Eddie easily finishes Webb with the Backslide Bomb, followed by the Gutwrench Driver and the Crowe's Nest. Webb taps out.)
Winner: Eddie Crowe
David: Eddie Crowe advances, and preparing for Cynric only to get another competitor didn't seem to throw him off at all.
Dick: It's Cynric's loss, but Eddie's gain, as he moves one step closer to the Toughman Title. He'll meet Concession Boy and Ronin Fox in the next round.
David: Coming up is the six-man main event. Cynric teams with Nykk and Alan Mayse to take on Kevin Stone, Charlie Haas and Low Ki.
(Backstage, Cynric greets Nate Webb as he comes through the curtain and tells him that it was a nice try. Ronin Fox walks up to him as Webb leaves.)
Fox: Bro... what the hell was that? I'm all prepared to face you in the next round, and you flaked out on me! What's going on?
Cynric: Look, this match against Stone on January 21 is the best opportunity I've got right now. I can't risk any more wear and tear by wrestling more than once in a night. If I have to sacrifice my chance at being Toughman Champion to be MECCA Champion, then so be it.
Fox: You're right, Cynric. You have a big title match against Stone at Snowed In. But you won't win. You know why? You're still playing to those fans. You did something right tonight. You walked away on your own terms, not giving a damn about what the fans who expected to see you in the tournament thought. That's what you've got to do. Because if you don't, someone will screw you out of what's rightfully yours. You remember your last one on one title shot, don't you? Last June, Midsummer Night Slam, you vs. C.M. Punk. What happened? That referee screwed you out of the title after you had Punk's shoulders pinned for a three count. That title was yours, but you allowed yourself to be screwed over by David Bowers. A referee. Mark my words, it's going to happen again at Snowed In. Even if you win, you won't get the title. You just watch.
(Fox leaves, and Cynric stares after him.)
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "At the End of the Rainbow" hits and Kevin Stone, Charlie Haas and Low Ki make their way to the ring.)
David: It's time for our six-man main event, as our MECCA Champion leads his contingent to the ring. Charlie Haas has certainly gotten under Nykk's skin lately, and we found out earlier that Nykk vs. Haas will be added to Snowed In.
Dick: And also, for those of you who didn't see Rundown this week, Charlie Haas defeated Jay Crowe to advance in the Toughman Tournament, and he will face Nykk and Trent Acid in the next round, so they could very well meet up again after Snowed In.
("Soul Creation" hits and Cynric, Nykk and Alan Mayse make their way to the ring.)
David: Ronin Fox was seen before the break still trying to get Cynric to come over to his way of thinking so that they can team again, but Cynric isn't having it.
Dick: He's so focused on becoming MECCA Champion that he pulled himself out of a huge opportunity tonight in the Toughman Tournament. Now he'll have to wait until after the first champion is crowned for an opportunity at the belt.
David: Yes, we learned that it will be Concession Boy vs. Ronin Fox vs. Eddie Crowe in the quarter-finals, as Eddie defeated a replacement that Cynric brought so as to not cheat the fans out of a match.
(FINISH: As a brawl erupts between the combatants, Charlie Haas applies the Haas of Pain on Nykk. Cynric comes off the top with an elbow smash to break it up, but gets kicked down to the mat by Low Ki, who then does a double stomp. However, Alan springboards in with a dropkick to the back of the head and Low Ki falls right into Cynric's raised knees. On the other side of the ring, Nykk takes out Haas and Stone with a pescado. Alan and Cynric give Low Ki the Tiger Bomb/Shock Cannon combo, and Cynric covers for the three count.)
Winners: Cynric, Nykk and Alan Mayse
David: Team Cynric wins the match, and Cynric's confidence is boosted going into his title match with Kevin Stone in just ten days.
Dick: But Cynric didn't pin Stone himself. He still has yet to do that in any fashion here in MECCA.
David: Join us next week for the final Go Time before Snowed In. Good night, fans!
(Cynric motions to Stone that he wants that belt around his waist.)
