Quick Rundown Results:
Kelly Schweickart b. Misery
UK Wrecking Crew b. Eccentrics
Cynric b. Joey Sprinklers
Jay and Eddie Crowe b. Ballard Brothers
("Neocon" opening.)
David: We are coming to you once again from Columbus, Ohio! Welcome to Go Time, fans. I'm David Mills, he's Dick Broccoli, and we have a big tag team main event for you tonight.
Dick: Alan Mayse and Cynric will team to face the tandem of Ronin Fox and the new MECCA Champion Kevin Stone later on. Also, the MECCA Tag Team Champions the UK Wrecking Crew will be here, taking on the Eccentrics in a non-title match.
David: And Eddie Crowe returns to singles action tonight against Shannon Ballard. Plus, we'll hear from Nykk about his loss of the MECCA Championship last week. All that and much more coming at you now!
("Hit That" hits and Joey Sprinklers skateboards his way to the ring.) David: Joey Sprinklers is excited to be here tonight, and he's definitely excited to have been granted his match against Charlie Haas at New Year's Knockout on December 30.
Dick: Haas immediately made an impact here in MECCA by getting onto the Contender Star in his very first match. And should Joey Sprinklers beat him, he'll be back on the Contender Star and perhaps get that title match that eluded him during his first stint.
("Kobrakai" hits and the Wild Wolf makes his way to the ring, accompanied by Anubis.)
David: We saw this team of the Killer Kanines debut last week, but tonight the Wild Wolf will be competing in singles action. And what's the big man Anubis doing out here?
Dick: They're partners, David. He's out here for support.
David: For backup, you mean. Joey better watch his back with the 6'7'' 300 lbs. Anubis stalking ringside.
(FINISH: Joey hits the Wild Wolf with Da Sprinkalantor, but Anubis gets on the apron to distract the ref. Joey hits him with a running forearm to knock him to the floor, but that allows the Wild Wolf to hit him with a flapjack. Wolf sets Joey up on the top turnbuckle and goes up for a hurricanrana. Joey counters into a powerbomb and somersaults into a bridge for a three count.)
Winner: Joey Sprinklers
David: Joey Sprinklers wins! The Killer Kanines had a successful tag team debut last week, but Wild Wolf's singles debut didn't turn out so well.
Dick: His feud with Low Ki gave Joey a newfound confidence, and it's showing now that he's gotten a few more wins under his belt.
(Joey celebrates, but Anubis attacks from behind with a clothesline. He beats up Joey as the Wild Wolf recovers. Wolf tells Anubis to set Joey up on the top rope. He does so, and Wolf gets behind him as Anubis ascends an adjacent corner. Wolf gives Joey a reverse suplex from the top and Anubis comes down on Joey's back with the Sphinx Splash. "Kobrakai" hits as the Killer Kanines exit the ring.)
David: The Killer Kanines have gotten the last laugh tonight, but Joey walked away with the all important victory. We understand that Bill Bicknell is standing by with Joey's opponent for New Year's Knockout, Charlie Haas.
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing with Charlie Haas, who is laughing at what just happened.)
Bill: Charlie Haas, we just witnessed Joey Sprinklers getting pummeled by Anubis and the Wild Wolf, but at New Year's Knockout you will be facing him in your MECCA PPV debut. What are your thoughts about that?
Haas: How typical of Joey Sprinklers. Even when he wins, he loses. On December 30, Joey, Indianapolis becomes your Haas of Pain. I'm here to achieve major things in MECCA, and really, who would expect any less from me? Joey, it starts with you in just a couple of weeks. As I proved last week, I can be very influential when I set my mind to it. Because of me, there is a new MECCA Champion. And I promise you, this is only the beginning. Charlie Haas is here to prove a point, and I'll prove it even if it means running through this entire organization.
Bill: There you have it, fans, Charlie Haas is very confident about his match at New Year's Knockout. When we come back here on Go Time, Zoe Alexander will take on LuFisto.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Sold Me" hits and LuFisto makes her way to the ring.)
David: We're back with action from the ladies' division, and here comes LuFisto, the First Lady of Hardcore.
Dick: She's been having her problems in the past month, dropping a fall to the new girl on the block, Heather Star, but she did avenge that loss recently on our Internet show Rundown.
("TKO" by Le Tigre hits and Zoe Alexander makes her way to the ring.)
David: Zoe Alexander is a part of the ladies' division that stands in opposition to the Dangerous Liaison, and you know she would love to be the one to take the title from the new Ladies' Champion Gail Kim.
Dick: She may have her chance if she can pull off a win here tonight.
(FINISH: Zoe whips LuFisto into a corner and charges, but LuFisto elbows her in the face. She grabs Zoe's head and stands on the second turnbuckle, grabbing a double underhook and attempting to roll through into LuFisto's Law. However, Zoe manages to stand up and lifts LuFisto over her back. She hooks her and plants her with the Zoetrope, covering for the three count.)
Winner: Zoe Alexander
David: Zoe wins with the devastating Zoetrope, and beating a competitor like LuFisto will certainly put you in high consideration for a title match.
Dick: Gail Kim can't be happy about LuFisto losing to Zoe, but she has to be ready to face all challengers to her belt and live up to her title.
David: We'll now send it backstage to MECCA co-owner Katie Piehl. She has some big news on the upcoming Toughman Tournament.
(Backstage, Katie Piehl is standing in her office.)
Katie: Good evening, fans. As you heard last week, MECCA is instituting a Toughman Championship, with the tournament to be taking place over the winter and spring, with the finals being held at the MECCA Challenge on April 29, 2006. This will truly be a unique tournament, which will be grueling enough to live up to the title of 'toughman.' Twenty four male competitors will compete in this tournament, and there will be twelve singles matches that constitute the first round. The winners of these matches will then be paired into four Triangle Matches in the quarter-finals. The four winners will meet in a special Four Way Dance in the semi-finals, where only the first two eliminations count. The men who avoid elimination will then meet in one final singles match with a stipulation to be announced, for the Toughman Championship. The first round matches are random, and earlier today, we drew names to see what matchups would shape this tournament. As part of the tournament, these matches will not affect any wrestler's standing on the Contender Star.
(A graphic is shown of the brackets and twelve first round matches: Joey Sprinklers vs. Andy Nathans, Alan Mayse vs. Shannon Ballard, Low Ki vs. Anubis, Cheesecake vs. Trent Acid, Nykk vs. Delirious, Jay Crowe vs. Charlie Haas, Huh vs. Ronin Fox, Eddie Crowe vs. Cynric, Dreamo vs. Concession Boy, the Wild Wolf vs. Jack Fletcher, Matt Sydal vs. Cody Hawk and Dusty Schneble vs. Shane Ballard.)
Katie: As you can see, there are some very interesting matches in the first round, not the least of which is the prospects Matt Sydal and Cody Hawk not only fighting for their spot in this tournament, but for a permanent spot on our roster. Plus, there are some interesting possibilities for the quarter-finals. Will a Pyro Twin finally meet a member of the UKWC? Will brothers Ronin Fox and Cynric be forced to face each other? The man who makes it through this tournament will truly deserve the honor of being Toughman Champion. That's all from me. Up next, Eddie Crowe returns to singles action against Shannon Ballard.
(Commercial Break)
(In the locker room, Cynric is unpacking his bag when Ronin Fox wanders in.)
Fox: Hey, bro.
Cynric: Brother.
Fox: Listen, I know what you're thinking about me right now, but I have to tell you, wrestling without the weight of thousands on your back is an invigorating feeling and...
Cynric: Save it. I've worked way too long and owe the fans way too much to turn on them now by siding with you. And by siding with you, that's exactly what I'd be doing. You and I could have had a good thing going, but I guess we'll never know now. Alan and I have been doing great as a team, and if not for those Grenadiers, we would have won the tag titles last week. But there's still a possibility that due to the UK Wrecking Crew's shenanigans, we'll be getting one more shot. Consider our match tonight a tune up match. I don't want to face you, but I will if I have to.
Fox: When are you going to wake up, Cynric? Alan Mayse will just disappoint you, just like he disappointed me when we went after the tag titles. Alan may be a good singles wrestler, but he doesn't know anything about working as a team. He only knows how to look out for himself. We could have had a good thing going... we still can. Team with me, and who better to be tag champs than two brothers?
Cynric: I'm going to say this once more... if you get in my way tonight, I will remove you.
(Cynric walks away.)
(In the arena, "The Goon's Theme Remix" is playing, and Shannon Ballard is in the ring.)
David: There are still hard feelings between the brothers Ronin Fox and Cynric over Fox's new philosophy, and they very well could end up facing each other later tonight. And what about this Toughman Tournament? We just found out the brackets before the break, and this man, Shannon Ballard, will be facing Alan Mayse in the first round right here next week.
Dick: Shannon's got a couple of rough weeks in store for him, but a victory tonight would not only get him some momentum, but also put him on the Contender Star.
("Noots" by Sum 41 hits and Eddie Crowe makes his way to the ring.)
David: Eddie Crowe returns to action tonight, and he'll be facing Cynric in the first round of the Toughman Tournament. However, Eddie's real goal at the moment is to disfigure Trent Acid. And he'll get his chance, because at New Year's Knockout they will meet one on one.
Dick: Eddie's returning to singles action, but he's also coming off a successful tag team victory as he teamed with his brother Jay this week on Rundown to defeat the Ballards. Can Shannon avenge that loss?
(FINISH: Shannon hits a brainbuster, but Eddie gets a foot on the ropes at two. He picks Eddie up and goes for a powerbomb, but Eddie escapes behind Shannon and hooks his arms, taking him over in a Backslide Bomb. He applies the Crowe's Nest on the mat, and Shannon taps out.)
Winner: Eddie Crowe
David: Eddie defeats Shannon Ballard, and will now go on to face Trent Acid on December 30 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and then it's on to the Toughman Tournament.
Dick: Eddie's been through a lot this year, but 2006 is coming, and it could be his year.
David: Still to come, Cynric and Alan Mayse face Ronin Fox and MECCA Champion Kevin Stone. And I'm being told that the big news isn't over tonight. Apparently Nykk has an announcement as well, and we'll hear it in just a bit.
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, David Caldwell is standing by with Eddie Crowe.)
Caldwell: Eddie, just over a month ago you were kicked out of the leadership role in your own group, which then dissolved before our very eyes. And just when we thought you had no friends left in the world, you come back at the side of your brother Jay and your friend Dusty. Now you have a match with Trent Acid at New Year's Knockout. If you lose that match to him, does that mean we won't have to see your face for another month?
Eddie: Rest assured, I'm here to stay. Acid, you are a coward and a scumbag. I thought you were my friend, and you left me for dead when I needed you. But I have to tell you, that may have been the biggest favor you ever did me. It opened my eyes, and I was able to see my mistakes. I rediscovered the love of my brother and Dusty. And now my focus is where it's supposed to be in this business, and that's on making it to the top. But Trent Acid, while the aftereffects of what you did have been good, that does not excuse the act itself. On December 30, I unleash all my rage at you, the UK Wrecking Crew, C.M. Punk, and even myself. So far all you've done is run from me like a little bitch, but your day of reckoning will come. And after I'm through with you... well, Grenadiers or no Grenadiers, Andy Nathans and Jack Fletcher... you also have something to answer for.
(In the office, Katie Piehl is sitting at her desk when Zoe Alexander enters.)
Zoe: Ms. Piehl, you wanted to see me?
Katie: Zoe, how are you? Listen, I wanted to talk to you about our upcoming pay-per-view, New Year's Knockout. You see, I need to book Gail Kim's first challenger for her belt, and after your impressive victory tonight, I'm heavily leaning towards giving you that shot.
Zoe: That would be great! If you pick me, I promise not to let you down. I'll give you a match to remember, and walk out as the fourth Ladies' Champion.
Katie: That's just what I like to hear. I think I will make the match right now: Gail Kim vs. Zoe Alexander for the Ladies' Championship at...
(Shadow barges in.)
Shadow: You have to be kidding me! Why does she get a title shot? I'm a former Ladies' Champion, and I do not deserve to be given the shaft like this.
Katie: Why Shadow, what's the matter? Is your former follower not giving her friends all the title shots like a good little pet? Here's an idea... if you want to get a shot at Gail Kim, maybe you could start with actually winning a match.
Shadow: Don't even go there. Mark my words, you will rue the day that you pissed me off.
(Shadow stomps from the room.)
Katie: Anyway, Zoe, what do you say?
Zoe: I say that in just over two weeks, the Ladies' Title will come back to the right side.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Ironman" hits and the UK Wrecking Crew make their way to the ring, along with the Grenadiers.)
David: We're back on Go Time with a non-title tag team match. The MECCA Tag Team Champions are on their way to the ring, with their Grenadiers "keeping watch."
Dick: Why say it like that? They're out here to do nothing more than keep the Pyro Twins away from the ring.
David: Yeah, and two weeks ago they were responsible for Nathans and Fletcher scoring the victory over Cynric and Alan Mayse.
("Pajamarama" hits and the Eccentrics make their way to the ring.)
David: The Eccentrics would much like to have another shot at the titles, as they were the team that ended the UKWC's undefeated streak, and we're receiving word that if the Eccentrics beat the UKWC right now, they will get the title shot for New Year's Knockout, but only if Alan Mayse and Cynric lose their match tonight.
Dick: That's a big if. Huh and Cheesecake already lost their rematch for the belts.
(FINISH: Huh hits the moonsault on Fletcher, but Nathans gets on the apron with a chair. Cheesecake sees him coming and also gets on the apron, hitting Nathans with right hands and making him drop the chair. Huh comes over, and Cheesecake holds Nathans for Huh. Huh headbutts him, but does it the wrong way and hurts his own head. He falls to his ass as Nathans back elbows Cheesecake off the apron. Fletcher gives Huh the Union Jack and gets the pin.)
Winners: The UK Wrecking Crew
David: No title shot for the Eccentrics, as they have lost this non-title opportunity.
Dick: Huh is an idiot. If he's not accidentally winning, he's losing due to his stupidity.
David: This means if Alan Mayse and Cynric win tonight, they will face the UK Wrecking Crew for the titles at New Year's Knockout, and it's completely justified thanks to the dastardly way they lost their first shot at the belts. We understand that Nykk is standing by with some comments, so let's go to him.
(In the locker room, Nykk is sitting on a bench.)
Nykk: Last week, I lost everything that built myself up to being. My reward for my hard work and dedication that I put in to MECCA and into changing my own ways, is now in the hands of someone else. And Kevin, you got one over on me. You beat me cleanly. But you're fooling yourself if you think that my altercation with Charlie Haas earlier had nothing to do with that. There's no excuse for my loss, but it does mean that I deserve a rematch. And I've just come from Katie Piehl, and I've got that rematch. Saturday, December 30, at New Year's Knockout, your main event will be Nykk vs. Kevin Stone for the MECCA Championship. This time, Kevin, I'm not just coming to reclaim my title. I'm coming to chop down a metal tree. And when it's all said and done, I will be on top of MECCA once again, the way it was meant to be. And you will look into your reflection in your post-match beer and weep, for you were nothing more than a flash in the pan.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "At the End of the Rainbow" hits and Kevin Stone and Ronin Fox make their way to the ring.)
David: The new MECCA Champion Kevin Stone's first title defense has been set. At New Year's Knockout, Nykk will get his return match and take on Kevin Stone for the MECCA Championship.
Dick: Meanwhile, he has to deal with this uneasy partnership. Ronin Fox still feels that the MECCA Championship should have been his.
David: Fox tried to talk his brother into teaming with him again earlier tonight, but Cynric was having none of it.
("Soul Creation" hits and Cynric and Alan Mayse make their way to the ring.)
David: Here comes a team that has been making waves recently, and they probably would have won the tag titles if not for the UK Wrecking Crew's Grenadiers two weeks ago.
Dick: Maybe doesn't get results, David. But if they win tonight, they will get their rematch against Nathans and Fletcher at New Year's Knockout.
David: Everyone has something to prove in our main event. Fox wants to prove that Alan will let Cynric down, just like he claims Alan did to him this past summer. Mayse and Cynric want to prove they deserve to be tag team champs, and Stone wants to get his title reign off to the right start.
(FINISH: Fox makes a point of avoiding Cynric during the match, saying that he loves his brother and won't fight him when he should be teaming with him. Cynric, however, wants to test his brother's mettle. At the end, Fox hits the Fox Fire on Alan, taking out referee Keith Young by accident, and covers as Stone gets on the apron. Cynric dropkicks Stone in the ankle to send him to the floor. Cynric goes for a pescado, but Stone catches him and rams him into the post. However, Stone turns around as Nykk comes out of the crowd with a steel chair. He cracks Stone over the head with it and shouts at him as Fox comes over to jaw with Nykk. Nykk takes a swing at Fox, who backs up right into a knee to the back from Alan. Alan turns Fox around and gives him the Tiger Bomb. Young wakes up and makes the three count.)
Winners: Alan Mayse and Cynric
David: Cynric and Alan Mayse get their title shot for New Year's Knockout, and it looks like Nykk just knocked out Kevin Stone with that chair!
Dick: Nykk is incensed that he is no longer the MECCA Champion, and he just let Stone know it with that hard shot.
(Stone and Fox stagger to the dressing room as Nykk gets a mic.)
Nykk: Stone, you may be the MECCA Champion, but on December 30, the Alpha Wolf takes up the hunt once again, with all my keen senses focused on that belt. I will see you across the ring... I will smell your fear... I will hear your screams of anguish... I will feel your muscles tearing beneath my grip... and yes, I will taste gold once again. Until then, the winds of winter are upon us. Be sure to keep that belt warm for me.
("Destroy" plays as Nykk, Cynric and Alan Mayse stand together in the ring.)
David: We found out lots of news about New Year's Knockout's card this week. What will next week hold? Until then, good night!
