("Neocon" opening.)
David: MECCA presents Go Time, emanating from Columbus, Ohio! I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and as you saw last week, Kevin Stone lost it, going so far as to attack the authority of MECCA, Katie Piehl. We understand he has been suspended for that unprovoked attack.
Dick: But we understand that Cynric has something to say to his former partner a bit later on.
David: And in the main event tonight, C.M. Punk gets his rematch against Nykk, and it will be for the MECCA Championship.
Dick: Also, Lisa Letty makes her return to in-ring action tonight.
("Can't Stop" hits and Reckless Abandon make their way to the ring.)
David: We're kicking things off with Eccentric Alliance representatives Spanky and Delirious, otherwise known as Reckless Abandon.
Dick: And it looks like Spanky will be seeing action at our next pay-per-view event Summer Showdown when he takes on Eddie Crowe.
David: Yes, interim authority Nykk made that match just today. We understand we'll hear from him also tonight, in addition to his match against Punk.
("Burning Times" hits and the Pyro Twins make their way to the ring.)
David: The Pyro Twins are pissed beyond belief, as they were tricked into attacking the UK Wrecking Crew last week in the parking lot. Since they were not in the arena, the UKWC named it assault, and the Pyro Twins were arrested and slapped with a restraining order.
Dick: Yeah, they can't go within fifty feet of Fletcher or Nathans, and that means no title shot for them.
(FINISH: Reckless Abandon hit Get Well Soon on Jay, but Dusty drags Delirious from the ring and rams him into the post. Spanky brawls with Dusty, but Jay attacks him from behind and they grab Spanky by his arms and legs and ram him headfirst into the guardrail. Jay rolls into the ring with Delirious and gives him the Overhaul, covering for the pin.)
Winners: The Pyro Twins
David: The Pyro Twins continue to be victorious in the tag team ranks, but it doesn't mean anything until the restraining order is lifted against the tag team champs.
(Suddenly, C.M. Punk walks to the ring, followed by Eddie Crowe.)
David: What's this? The leader of SELF is on his way out here. I would think he would be preparing for his title match against Nykk later on.
Dick: He's still angry about losing his title, and I think he holds Jay and Dusty somehow responsible for that.
(Punk gets a mic.)
Punk: The reason I am calling this meeting of the Straight Edge Lifestyle Foundation is to address a travesty that happened at Liberty or Death. No, I'm not talking about my unfortunate loss to Nykk, but of our loss to the Eccentric Alliance. You three messed up bad, and in the process, made SELF look bad... Jay, Dusty, despite my best efforts to improve you, you insist on being the slovenly, drunken wretches that you've always been. But you have enforced my will, and I've let that slide. Eddie... you are my prize student, and I know you tried your best at Liberty or Death... but you still lost. And when I was in danger of losing my title, you did nothing to prevent that. Since my berating you in private has not seemed to take, I'm going to try public humiliation instead. Prepare to receive your punishment.
(He slaps Eddie across the face, and Eddie staggers back into the corner. Jay and Dusty watch, obviously wanting to help Eddie, but daring not.)
David: Punk's nothing but a bully, and poor Eddie's paying the price for his clean loss against Nykk.
(Punk continues yelling at Eddie and slapping him down, but when he balls up his fist and prepares to strike him, Jay grabs his arm. Punk turns around and punches Jay in the face. Jay gives him a deadly look and then wraps his hands around Punk's throat, driving him back to the corner. Dusty gets between them and pulls Jay off, telling him it's not worth it. Jay backs off and Punk grabs a mic.)
Punk: I knew you'd see reason. What I'm doing is right...
(Jay breaks free of Dusty and lays into Punk with right hands. He whips him into the ropes and gives him a running forearm. He hits Punk with more rights, but suddenly Eddie attacks Jay from behind.)
David: Jay's finally giving Punk what he deserves, but his own brother is laying into him now!
(Eddie DDTs Jay, and Punk shoves him aside and mounts Jay, hitting him with rights. Dusty pulls Punk off, and berates Eddie for hitting his own brother. Punk stomps on Jay a couple of times and then leaves the ringside area. He tells Eddie to follow him, and Eddie immediately obeys. Dusty looks torn, but turns to help up Jay. Jay tells him he's all right, and Dusty follows Eddie and Punk.)
David: What have we just seen here? Is SELF coming apart at the seams?
Dick: I don't know, but it looks as if Jay at least has had his membership revoked?
David: Maybe we'll have more about this when we come back from commercial. Stay with us, fans.
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing in front of SELF's locker room.)
Bill: Bill Bicknell here, in front of the SELF dressing room. I'm really not sure what's happening now, as Punk has barred me from entering. But I can say this for sure: during the break, Jay Crowe entered the locker room and there were raised voices heard from within. A few moments later, Jay exited the locker room without his partner Dusty, and said that he was done playing Punk's game, and it was time for Punk to start playing his game. He challenged Punk to a match at Summer Showdown, and then left the building. I'll have more later on hopefully, but for now, it looks as if Jay Crowe is out of SELF.
(In the arena, "My Friend of Misery" hits and Misery makes her way to the ring.)
David: We may be seeing the destruction of SELF, with Jay Crowe apparently leaving his brother to his fate with C.M. Punk. You can't really blame him; you can only watch someone you love go down the wrong path for so long without helping themselves.
Dick: But one of the most interesting things to come out of this could be a Crowe vs. Punk match at Summer Showdown. And whose side is Dusty going to take? Jay is his long time partner, but Eddie is also like a brother to him.
David: Right now, the ladies are set for action as Misery will be going against the former Ladies' Champion, who will get her rematch with Shadow at Summer Showdown.
("Edge of Seventeen" hits and Lisa Letty makes her way to the ring.)
David: Lisa lost the Ladies' Title back at Midsummer Night Slam after being betrayed by Shadow, and this is her first singles match back since that night.
Dick: Lisa has to prove that the loss she suffered will not let her be kept down. A win here could give her the confidence to get back on track.
(FINISH: Misery goes for a Tornado DDT, but Lisa blocks it and lifts her into the air, slamming her to the mat. She quickly hooks Misery and somersaults over her, applying the Letty Stretch. After a few moments, Misery taps out.)
Winner: Lisa Letty
David: Lisa wins it against Dangerous Liaison member Misery, and continues on her way toward Summer Showdown, and the Ladies' Championship possessed by Shadow.
Dick: Lisa is on a mission, and I can't wait to see her and Shadow tear it up again.
David: When we come back, the tag team titles will be on the line. The UK Wrecking Crew defends against Ronin Fox and Alan Mayse next!
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, Nykk is sitting in Katie's office shuffling through papers.)
Nykk: I never knew there was so much work in being an authority figure. Maybe it's a good thing that I have Katie after all.
(Shadow comes in.)
Nykk: Oh, Shadow. I hear you've got your rematch against Lisa Letty at Summer Showdown. Are you ready?
Shadow: I'm always ready. I beat Lisa before, and it'll be no problem to do it again.
Nykk: Is that so? You know, I've been looking at your title defenses since winning that title, and it's come to my attention that you've been disgracing the integrity of that belt by giving shots to people... who haven't really earned it.
Shadow: LuFisto and Gail are all perfectly capable of being Ladies Champion...
Nykk: I know, and since they did kind of give you a run for your money, I'm scheduling one more title defense between now and Summer Showdown, and it will take place next week.
Shadow: Fine. Who's it against, LuFisto or Gail?
Nykk: Both.
Shadow: What, a three way dance? That's... fine. I'll just...
Nykk: Nope. You see, I think that Kelly Schweickart deserves a rematch too, so it will be a Four Corners Match. You will defend against Gail Kim, LuFisto and Kelly Schweickart.
Shadow: What!? I don't even have to lose the fall to...
Nykk: You got it. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some business to attend to.
(He leaves the office, leaving Shadow flustered.)
(In the arena, "Wherever I May Roam" hits and Ronin Fox and Alan Mayse make their way to the ring.)
David: Ronin Fox is back in MECCA, and what a welcome back gift he received last week, being attacked by the tag team champions.
Dick: He did get a title shot out of it, though, as he was saved by his friend Alan Mayse. They're looking to take the titles and end the UWKC's undefeated streak.
("Ironman" hits and the UK Wrecking Crew makes its way to the ring.)
David: Andy Nathans and Jack Fletcher have been avoiding the rightful challengers, the Pyro Twins, for months now and last week delayed them even more by getting them arrested and slapped with a restraining order.
Dick: That has to frustrate Jay and Dusty, that they can't even touch the UKWC even though they're so close. Although, Jay and Dusty have problems besides Nathans and Fletcher now.
(FINISH: Fox gets the hot tag and clotheslines Nathans. He whips him into the corner and then hits Around the World in 18 Seconds. He calls for the Tail End, but Fletcher knees him in the back when he bounces off the ropes. Fox gives Fletcher an enzugiri, but Nathans forearms him from behind. Alan comes in and tackles Nathans, pummeling him, but referee David Bowers separates them. Nathans walks right into a Fox Fire, and Fox covers. Fletcher comes in with a chair, but Fox sees him coming and kicks him in the stomach. Fox gets the chair and blasts Fletcher with it just as the ref turns around. Fox drops the chair, but Bowers calls for the bell, disqualifying him.)
Winners: The UK Wrecking Crew
David: The UK Wrecking Crew were that close to losing the tag titles, but instead of bowing out gracefully, Fletcher interjected himself with a chair and got Fox disqualified!
Dick: Bottom line, though, is that the UKWC keeps their titles.
David: It doesn't look like it's over!
(The UKWC laugh at Fox and Alan, and they rush Nathans and Fletcher, brawling with them.)
David: I think Fox and Alan deserve another shot after that crock. We'll be back when we can get some order restored out here.
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Cynric.)
Bill: Cynric, last week you were brutalized by your former partner Kevin Stone, who then attacked MECCA authority Katie Piehl when she tried to put a stop to it.
Cynric: Bill, I never thought that Stone could sink so low. Katie should never have tried to stop him, but I'm sure she didn't anticipate what he would do either. Stone, you're pretty tough when you're beating up women that are half your size, but if you remember correctly, I had you at Liberty or Death until you decided to bring a weapon into it. So since we've got a pay-per-view coming up... Summer Showdown... I thought that maybe we could try to settle this one more time, and this time nobody will stop it. I'm challenging you to an Anything Goes match, so you bring your weapons if it makes you feel better, and come August 20... I'm finishing this.
(In the arena, "Miseria Cantare" hits and C.M. Punk makes his way to the ring.)
David: I hope that Stone accepts Cynric's challenge for Summer Showdown, because I would love to see Cynric get his hands on Kevin in a no-holds-barred environment. It's time for our main event, a rematch from the impromptu match at Liberty or Death where Nykk won the MECCA Championship.
Dick: Since Katie was hospitalized last week, you would think that Nykk is at a disadvantage here despite being the champ. He's had to run the show all night, but then again, Punk has had his own problems tonight as well.
("Destroy" hits and Nykk makes his way to the ring.)
David: These two met for the honor of being the first champion back at the MECCA Challenge, and Punk won the title in controversial fashion. Three months later to the night, Nykk finally redeemed that loss and now holds the top prize in the promotion he started, and actually earned it.
Dick: No doubt that Nykk has been through hell and back, dealing with the betrayal of his friends, and his series of matches against Low Ki.
David: Let's take it up to ring announcer Jared Schrunk!
Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, this is our Go Time main event, scheduled for one fall, and for the MECCA Championship! In the corner to my left is the challenger... from Chicago, Illinois, and weighing in at 220 lbs... he is the leader of SELF and a former MECCA Champion... C.M. Punk! And his opponent... from Bellbrook, Ohio, and weighing in at 225 lbs... he is the MECCA Champion... this is Nyyyyykk!
(FINISH: Punk and Nykk don't even bother going for pinfalls during the match, instead trying to make the other tap out. Punk finally locks in the Anaconda Vice, but Nykk makes it to the ropes. Punk doesn't break the hold and lifts Nykk to his feet, but Nykk pushes him into the ropes and hits him with a running European Uppercut. He covers, but Punk barely manages to kick out this time. Nykk tries to apply the Cedarleaf, but Punk fights it. He rolls up Nykk into an inside cradle for a two count. Nykk sends Punk down with a running back elbow and then goes to the top rope. Punk crotches him and goes for the Pepsi Plunge. Nykk slips out of it in midair and gets a double leg takedown. He applies the Cedarleaf, and Punk immediately goes for the ropes. Nykk anticipates this and moves to the center of the ring. Punk spends the next minute trying to get back to the ropes, but Nykk manages to maneuver himself so that Punk can never quite reach. Punk quits struggling, but still won't tap. Finally, Nykk wraps his legs around Punk in a bodyscissors and falls straight back (Cedarleaf, Limit Break Version). Punk screams in pain and finally taps out.)
Winner: Nykk
David: Punk just couldn't take the pain anymore, and had to tap. Nykk wins in his first title defense!
Dick: That was a brutal variation of the Cedarleaf, and it looks like Nykk finally found a way to make Punk give in.
(Suddenly, Low Ki comes out onto the stage with a microphone.)
Low Ki: Hey, Nykk!
David: What's Low Ki doing out here?
Low Ki: So, congratulations on winning the MECCA Championship at Liberty or Death. However, if you remember correctly, I'm the man who owned you for two months! I want my rightful title shot... and I want it at Summer Showdown!
(Nykk gets a mic.)
Nykk: They say a champion can never rest, that he has to constantly prove himself over and over... you've got it, Low Ki. You see, I already have a lucky number and it's the number two. I was the second FPPVW and RCW Champion... I was the second MECCA Champion... my victory over you came in our second big match together... but at Summer Showdown, it will be our third match, and I'm going to show you that as good as I am the second time around... I'm even better the third time.
Low Ki: Then how about we make it a little more interesting? Since you're so obsessed with making people tap, how about we make it my Dragon Ki Clutch vs. your Cedarleaf? You and me, one on one... in a Submission Match.
Nykk: You're on, Ki. On August 20, your head is going to meet up with your lower back, and I will leave you broken. Second verse, same as the first.
("Destroy" plays as Nykk and Low Ki stare at each other.)
David: We have a MECCA Championship match for Summer Showdown, and it's going to be a Submission Match! What will happen on August 20? We'll see you next week here on Go Time!
