Go Time: 4/19/05

Columbus, OH

("Neocon" opening.)

David: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to MECCA Go Time! We're emanating from the Drake Performance and Event Center in Columbus, Ohio. We have about a week and a half left until the MECCA Challenge, April 30 from the Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio, and live on pay-per-view, but we still have quite a show planned for tonight.

Dick: That's right. We'll see how much SELF really has affected the career of Trent Acid, as he's been ordered by Punk to take on Nykk in tonight's main event.

David: Plus, the Dangerous Liaison of LuFisto and Gail Kim will take on Shadow and Kelly Schweickart. We're also told that Low Ki has a big announcement to make, and we'll hear from him tonight. All that, and much more starting with the International Invitational!

("Burning Times" hits and the Pyro Twins make their way to the ring.)

David: It's the finals of the lower brackets of the International Invitational, and it's getting down to the nitty gritty. Either the Pyro Twins or Reckless Abandon will go to the MECCA Challenge to take on the UK Wrecking Crew for the World Cup and the MECCA Tag Team Titles.

Dick: And both these teams in the finals are American, so we'll definitely be seeing the US vs. the UK, but which team will it be?

David: Jay and Dusty would certainly love to get their hands on the UK Wrecking Crew again, but the team of Spanky and Delirious have been on a roll as of late.

("Can't Stop" hits and Reckless Abandon make their way to the ring.)

Dick: Well, I'm going with the pick I've had all along in this tournament, and that's the Pyro Twins.

David: It's a safe bet. They're a dangerous tandem, and they already beat Reckless Abandon once in this tournament.

(FINISH: Spanky and Delirious hit Get Well Soon on Dusty, and Spanky covers, but Jay comes in and attacks him. He clotheslines Delirious hard, and whips Spanky into the ropes. He lifts him in a fireman's carry, but Spanky fights him and lands oh his feet. He goes for Sliced Bread #2, but Jay throws him off and catches him in midair, taking him over with the Overhaul. Meanwhile, the UK Wrecking Crew make their way down the aisle, and Jay turns his attention to them. He gets out of the ring to confront them, and Dusty staggers to his feet. Spanky crouches down behind him and Delirious springboards to the top rope, dropkicking Dusty over Spanky's body. Spanky catches Dusty in a roll up as he falls and gets the three count.)

Winners: Reckless Abandon

David: Spanky and Delirious are going to the MECCA Challenge! They've beaten the Pyro Twins!

Dick: It looks like Jack Fletcher and Andy Nathans are continuing their mind games with the Pyro Twins.

(Jay comes back in, too late to make the save, and the UK Wrecking Crew laughs at him. They leave, as Reckless Abandon celebrates. Jay and Dusty exit the ring and march after the UK Wrecking Crew.)

David: The Pyro Twins are not happy, and I don't blame them. Jay was on a roll before they came out and distracted him. Right now, Bill Bicknell is backstage with Nykk!

(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Nykk.)

Bill: Nykk, you're just two and a half weeks away from the MECCA Challenge, and the match you've been working toward since the beginning of MECCA, against C.M. Punk for the MECCA Championship. But tonight, a roadblock is in your path in the form of a member of SELF, Trent Acid.

Nykk: Trent Acid, I can see why you're with Punk. Before him, you were going nowhere. Your career had no direction, you were slovenly, and it seemed like you just didn't care. Now you have the fire within back, and you're wrestling like your life depended on it. I can see why you think that you owe Punk. What you don't realize is that the fire within was there all along, and it is yourself you have to thank for pulling out of your funk. So don't take it personally when I beat you so bad that you once again think twice about wrestling as a career. When Punk said that...

(Suddenly, C.M. Punk attacks Nykk from behind with a forearm. Nykk goes down and Punk kicks him in the ribs. He picks him up and slams him into the wall. He holds Nykk's head in place and motions for someone. Trent Acid steps in front of the camera and gives Nykk a Yakuza Kick, sandwiching his head in between his foot and the wall. Nykk falls to the ground, semi-conscious. Punk and Acid start to laugh.)

Punk: You see, Acid, tonight is the night you elevate your career here in MECCA. I've given you a gift, and I intend to watch you use it. Let's go.

(They walk away as officials arrive to tend to Nykk.)

(In a hallway, Jay and Eddie Crowe are walking when they come across Cynric.)

Jay: I'm warning you, Cynric. I'm not in the mood.

Cynric: What's the matter, Jay? Lose your little match out there? I guess now you and Dusty shouldn't have a problem accepting my challenge for April 30.

Jay: You know what? We may not be able get our hands on the UK Wrecking Crew until after then, but we definitely intend to take part in the MECCA Challenge, and bust somebody's head while doing it. So it might as well be yours. Myself, Dusty and Eddie against you, Stone and Red? You're on.

Cynric: That's what I want to hear. I'm so sorry that you have to accept this as a consolation prize after losing to Spanky and Delirious, but I guess since you and Dusty have gotten soft since allying with Punk, it's to be expected.

Jay: Soft, huh? I'll tell you what. I'll show you how soft one half of the Pyro Twins has become. Let's do this tonight, Cynric. Dusty's already left, but I've got my brother here. You bring one of your partners, and we'll have ourselves a little preview of the MECCA Challenge.

Cynric: Sounds good to me. See you out there.

(Cynric walks away.)

Eddie: Are you sure Punk will approve of this?

Jay: Approve or not, it's going to happen. I'm so mad right now I could spit... but I think I'd rather teach Cynric what happens when you challenge a Pyro Twin. Let's go prepare.

(They walk away.)

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "The Leaving Song Part II" hits and Jay and Eddie Crowe make their way to the ring.)

David: What a surprise we got before the break. Jay, who's already wrestled once tonight, challenged Cynric to bring one of his partners to go up against himself and his brother Eddie.

Dick: This is the first time we've seen Jay and Eddie teaming up together. I can't wait to see what they can do.

David: And also, we've gotten word from Katie Piehl that another match has been added to the MECCA Challenge. In a rematch from the first round of the International Invitational, the Eccentrics will take on KDX.

Dick: David Caldwell has to be thrilled that his boys are getting another shot at putting Cheesecake and Huh out for good.

("Soul Creation" hits and Cynric and Kevin Stone make their way to the ring.)

David: It looks like Cynric's brought his frequent tag team partner with him, the big man Kevin Stone.

Dick: I wonder how wise this was now on Jay's part. He already had a grueling match against Reckless Abandon, and has to be frustrated at that loss. One mistake by Jay could mean this one is over in a hurry.

(FINISH: Eddie runs from Cynric the entire match, and they never really get the chance to hook it up in the ring. As a brawl erupts, Kevin chases Eddie around the ring as Jay gives Cynric a belly to belly suplex. Jay rolls out and hides behind the stairs. As Kevin rounds the stairs, Jay hits him with a hard clothesline. He rolls back into the ring, but Cynric is up and lifts him right into the Shock Cannon. Before he can cover, he sees Eddie coming in for the save and charges him, but Eddie kicks him and lifts him in a gutwrench, dropping him on his head instead of suplexing him. He rolls Jay on top of Cynric and referee Keith Young makes the three count just before Kevin can make the save.)

Winners: Jay and Eddie Crowe

David: The Crowe Brothers steal the victory, thanks to that vicious move by Eddie. What's that one called?

Dick: I don't know, but it was kind of a Gutwrench Driver. Cynric's still out.

(Jay and Eddie back up the ramp and share a hug as Kevin tends to Cynric.)

David: This was a preview of the six-man tag that will take place at the MECCA Challenge, where Dusty Schneble and the Amazing Red will join the mix. Right now, SELF seems to have the upper hand.

(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Low Ki.)

Bill: Low Ki, you requested this time so that you could inform us of a big announcement concerning the MECCA Challenge. Would you care to explain?

Low Ki: This is just too good, Bill. You know Ronin Fox, the guy that attacked me for no reason last week and said that he accepted my challenge for April 30? You all thought he was pretty brave to want to step into the ring one on one with a killer like me, didn't you? Well, it was all bull and here's why. This past weekend, Ronin Fox suffered a "broken leg" at another wrestling show. So much for the bad, brave Fox. What this boils down to is that Fox will not be facing me at the MECCA Challenge.

Bill: Wait a minute. Are you insinuating that Fox is lying about his injury just so he doesn't have to step in the ring with you?

Low Ki: It's pretty convenient, isn't it? He comes out smelling like a rose, with no actual work to be done. What he's also done is screw me out of a match at MECCA's big show in eleven days. So what I'm here to do is DEMAND that Katie Piehl give me a replacement for the MECCA Challenge! I don't care if it's the original Concession Boy, and I don't care if it's the Rock himself! Find me someone's ass to beat, so that I can elevate myself into position to get the first shot at Nykk or Punk. If I don't wrestle on this card, there will be dire consequences. And that is not a threat... that's just the way it is.

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Fell in Love with a Girl" hits and the Dangerous Liaison make their way to the ring.)

David: We're back here on Go Time, and we just got some bad news before the break. Apparently, Ronin Fox h as suffered a broken leg and will not be able to compete against Low Ki at the MECCA Challenge!

Dick: He says he suffered a broken leg, but you heard Low Ki. It's just a little too convenient.

David: Well, Low Ki has demanded a replacement, and I'm sure we'll get a decision on that from Katie Piehl sometime in the next week. In the meantime, the ladies of MECCA are set to grace the ring.

Dick: LuFisto is gearing up for her hardcore Ladies' Title match against Lisa Letty at the MECCA Challenge, and the always dangerous Gail Kim is here to compete alongside her.

("Take It Off" hits and Kelly Schweickart makes her way to the ring.)

David: Here comes the rookie Kelly Schweickart. What she lacks in experience, she makes up in enthusiasm.

Dick: She'll need more than that to avail her against the Dangerous Liaison, though.

("Faint" hits and Shadow makes her way to the ring.)

David: She may have that in Shadow. I can't think of anyone that would make a better mentor than Shadow, after all she's seen in the past two years.

Dick: Please. This one goes to the Dangerous Liaison, easy.

(FINISH: Kim sends Kelly down with a back elbow as Shadow takes out LuFisto on the outside with a pescado. She gets back on the apron, and Kim tries to suplex her back in, but Shadow escapes and rolls up Kim for a two count. She whips her into the ropes, but Kim reverses. Shadow ducks a clothesline and nails the Interceptor. She tags Kelly, who goes to the top rope. As referee Rya Zay tries to get Shadow out of the ring, Misery runs down and pushes Kelly off the top rope. Kelly strikes her knee on the mat, and holds it in pain. Kim wastes no time in applying a Tequila Sunrise, and Kelly taps out.)

Winners: The Dangerous Liaison

David: The Dangerous Liaison steals it, thanks to Misery. What's with this girl? Last week, she attacked everyone in sight, but this week she's siding with Gail Kim and LuFisto.

Dick: Who knows, but this doesn't look good for Shadow and Kelly.

(Shadow attacks Misery, but Kim and LuFisto pull her off and shove her to the mat. They lift her upside down by the ankles, and Misery hits a running dropkick to Shadow's face. LuFisto stomps on Kelly while Gail applies a camel clutch to Shadow. However, Lisa Letty suddenly runs out and scales to the top rope. Misery and Gail don't see her coming in time and take a double Letty Press. LuFisto charges Lisa, but gets thrown into the turnbuckles. She quickly ducks out of the ring as Kim takes a double dropkick from Kelly and Shadow that sends her out. Misery charges Shadow, but gets backdropped over the top rope. She lands on the apron, but Shadow hits her with the Interceptor, knocking her off and into the Dangerous Liaison. "Edge of Seventeen" plays as the faces tell the heels to bring it.)

David: Lisa Letty came to the aid of Shadow and Kelly Schweickart and it's a good thing she did. They're now standing tall over their opposition.

Dick: This is quite a war developing between the ladies of MECCA, David.

David: Lisa has shown that she's more than a match for her former mentor LuFisto, but she has to be a little uneasy about stepping into the ring with her at the MECCA Challenge under hardcore rules. When we come back, it's main event time as Nykk takes on Trent Acid from the Straight Edge Lifestyle Foundation.

(Commercial Break)

(Backstage, Cheesecake walks into his dressing room and sees David Caldwell hunched over his bag, looking like he's about to take a crap in it.)

Cheesecake: Hey!

Caldwell: Oh, s%&#!

(Cheesecake lunges at him, but Caldwell ducks under him and sprints out into the hallway, with Cheesecake in hot pursuit. They run out into the parking lot, and Caldwell trips and falls. He begs off as Cheesecake comes closer.)

Cheesecake: Come here, little David! I never th'aid you couldn't take your pant'th off!

(Just before he reaches Caldwell, Dick Togo and Kaz Hayashi attack from behind. They ram Cheesecake into the side of the building and then stomp on him. They ram him into a spare guardrail while Caldwell cheers them on. Kaz drapes Cheesecake's arm over the guardrail as Togo lifts another one. He throws it down on top of Cheesecake's arm. They take off while Cheesecake writhes in pain.)

Caldwell: See you at the MECCA Challenge, Cheesecake! I'd lend you a hand, but you seem to be short an arm!

(He laughs stupidly and smacks Cheesecake upside the head before running away.)

(In the arena, "Closer" hits and Trent Acid makes his way to the ring.)

David: Did you just see what transpired out there in the parking lot? David Caldwell's so scared of the Eccentrics that he's had to resort to ambushing Cheesecake.

Dick: No, that's smart. He's making sure that Cheesecake doesn't go into the MECCA Challenge at one hundred percent.

David: Speaking of ambushes, Trent Acid really did a number on Nykk at the top of the show, along with C.M. Punk.

Dick: Nykk has to contend with Punk in just eleven days. He'd be stupid to even take this match right now.

("Destroy" hits and Nykk makes his way to the ring, holding his head.)

David: Nykk does not look happy.

Dick: No, I've seen that look in his eyes before. Acid... run.

(Nykk charges the ring and takes down Acid as the bell rings.)

David: Nykk's through with waiting. He wants Acid right now!

(FINISH: Nykk is pissed, and Acid is only able to get in minimal offense as Nykk dominates most of the match. When Nykk props Acid on the top turnbuckle and goes for the Nykkochet, Acid blocks it and hits a gourdbuster from the top. Acid signals for the Yakuza Kick and bounces off the ropes, but Nykk catches his foot and sweeps his other leg, applying the Bellbrook Cedarleaf. He knees Acid in the ribs until he taps out.)

Winner: Nykk

David: Nykk just made a statement with Trent Acid here tonight. He doesn't care how hurt he is, he's going to find a way to win against C.M. Punk on April 30.

Dick: I think he's dreaming but he did dispatch Trent Acid, an always solid competitor, with minimal resistance.

David: The Cedarleaf is quickly becoming one of the most feared holds in the locker room. Lately, it seems like Nykk can apply it out of anywhere, and has developed several different variations of it, all of them torture. Do you think Punk will be able to withstand it if Nykk locks it in?

Dick: With no rope breaks? I'll say it right now. If Nykk locks it in on Punk, we've got our MECCA Champion.

(Nykk poses for the crowd in the corner.)

David: That's all the time we have for you tonight, fans. Tune in next week for the final Go Time before the MECCA Challenge!
