("Neocon" opening.)
David: Welcome to MECCA Go Time, ladies and gentlemen! We're here at the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, Illinois. I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and we're counting down the days until the MECCA Challenge, live on pay per view! We've got just over a month left, and it's time to kick it up a notch.
Dick: No doubt. The International Invitational continues with Mexico vs. Japan, as Fugitivos Locos take on Katsushi Takemura and Keiji Sakota. We'll also see Ladies' Champion Lisa Letty in action, as well as hear from the men who won through to the finals of the International Invitational after upsetting the Pyro Twins last week, the UK Wrecking Crew!
("Voices" hits and Fugitivos Locos make their way to the ring, carrying Mexican flags.)
David: We're kicking things off with the lower brackets of the International Invitational. The winner of this match will meet the winner of Reckless Abandon vs. KDX, which will take place next week, and then the winner of that match will take on the Pyro Twins to see who goes on to the MECCA Challenge.
Dick: Super Crazy and Psychosis look ready, but they're still trying to get their momentum back after that disastrous first round loss to the UK Wrecking Crew.
("Blue Blast - Winning the Rainbow" hits and Katsushi Takemura and Keiji Sakota make their way to the ring.)
David: Takemura and Sakota have kind of been the dark horses in this tournament. They beat Canada's Ballard Brothers in the first round, but came up short against the UK Wrecking Crew, which dropped them to the lower brackets. They still have the talent to win it all and get that rematch with the UK Wrecking Crew at the MECCA Challenge.
(FINISH: Psychosis sets Sakota on the top rope and executes a hurricanrana. Sakota is launched into the arms of Super Crazy, who plants him with a sitout powerbomb. He gets a two count as Takemura breaks it up. Takemura hits an Ocean Cyclone Suplex on Crazy, but gets kicked in the stomach by Psychosis. Psychosis applies a headlock, but Takemura pushes him off right into the Roaring Elbow from Sakota, who covers and gets the three count.)
Winners: Katsushi Takemura and Keiji Sakota
David: Takemura and Sakota keep their country alive in this tournament by gaining a major victory over Psychosis and Super Crazy!
Dick: Fugitivos Locos are now out of the International Invitational, and they look like they may be rethinking their decision to come to MECCA. After a hot debut, they just have not lived up to their reputations in this tournament, dropping victories to the UK and Japan. With their demise, it's now down to the US, Japan and the UK in the International Invitational.
David: When we come back, Ladies' Champion Lisa Letty takes on Misery in a non-title match!
(Eddie Crowe is walking down a hallway backstage when Cynric comes up to him and slams him up against the wall. Eddie throws up the X pose as if that will protect him.)
Cynric: Finally caught you alone! I missed you last week, Eddie. What, did you think I'd forget what you did two weeks ago? MECCA is my chance to show the world that I can realize my potential, and I can't do that if I have someone undermining all my efforts and costing me pinfalls, can I?
Eddie: You can do whatever you want to my body, but you can never take away the purity of thought that I now have. What I have learned from C.M. Punk is that an incredible life awaits all of us who follow the strict rules of straight edge.
(C.M. Punk walks up.)
Punk: That's right. Eddie, did he hurt you?
(Eddie shakes his head.)
Punk: Go find Dusty and your brother.
(Eddie leaves.)
Cynric: What's the matter, Punk? You don't think your little pawn has it in him to stand up and take responsibility to his own actions?
Punk: You should know me better than that, Cynric. The reason I won't let you get your hands on Eddie is because you want to get your hands on Eddie. And since you seem to want a fight so bad tonight, I'll give you the fight you're looking for. You and me, in the main event. If you want to realize your potential, then beat someone that people will notice.
Cynric: You are definitely on, Punk. But I'm warning you... if that little rat comes down and interferes, those skinny legs of his won't be the only parts of his body covered in black and blue.
(Cynric walks away.)
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with the UK Wrecking Crew.)
Bill: Andy Nathans, Jack Fletcher, last week you pulled off the biggest upset in MECCA's short history when you beat the Pyro Twins to advance to the finals of the International Invitational. What are your thoughts on the remaining teams in the lower brackets?
Fletcher: Let me ask you a question, Bill. When we beat Fugitivos Locos, everyone called it an upset. Then last week, we killed the Pyro Twins dead in the center of the ring, and it was called an upset. When is it going to stop being an upset? When we're sitting on top of this sport like kings, with the MECCA Tag Team Titles around our waists? There is going to be no upset, whether we're facing the Pyro Twins or Takemura and Sakota, who we've already beat, or Reckless Abandon or KDX. It's just going to be another win for the London-bred, the wrestling-fed, UK Wrecking Crew. The wreckage begins at the MECCA Challenge, and it doesn't stop until we say so.
Nathans: Yes, we've beaten the infamous Pyro Twins. A team notorious for inflicting harm, abuse and punishment with no regard to their opponents. We took this great, raging bonfire and stamped it out in front of the wrestling world. Pyro Twins, you can continue to hang out with your funboys in SELF, and when you're done lighting their fires and ready to get serious about your craft again, then you can step into the ring with us. I must say, we're disappointed. Last week, we thought we were going up against a couple of pitbulls, but we found ourselves face to face with two poodles. Of course, we all know of one other poodle in the wrestling business, and she has something in common with Jay and Dusty... they're all a bunch of bitches! Saturday, April 30. The MECCA Challenge. The UK Wrecking Crew will be there... and we'll take the Wrecking Ball to whoever else decides to show up.
(In the arena, "My Friend of Misery" hits and Misery makes her way to the ring.)
David: I think the UK Wrecking Crew are getting a little cocky after beating the Pyro Twins last week. They've just effectively declared war on Dusty Schneble and Jay Crowe.
Dick: I think everyone in this building, including the fans, shared an uneasy look while that promo was going on. When the Pyro Twins catch wind of this, they are going to flip out.
David: In the meantime, we've got the ladies' division representing out here. We haven't seen Misery since our very first show.
Dick: Well, now's the perfect time for her to step up and earn a full time position on the roster.
("Edge of Seventeen" hits and Lisa Letty makes her way to the ring.)
David: Our Ladies' Champion is here, and on her way to the MECCA Challenge to face LuFisto under hardcore rules.
Dick: I'm not sure this was the best idea for Lisa to go up against someone as well versed in the hardcore style as LuFisto. We've seen virtually nothing from Lisa in the way of brawling. She's much more technical, with a dash of high flying mixed in.
(Lisa and Misery circle, getting ready for the bell to ring, but Misery says to wait and asks for a mic.)
David: What's going on here?
Misery: Lisa, I just want you to know that I respect your work in the ring, and the way you've carried that Ladies' title belt over the past couple of months is an inspiration to any female wrestler. Before we have our match, I'd just like to do the honorable thing and shake your hand.
(Lisa looks a little puzzled, but shrugs and shakes Misery's hand.)
David: Some sportswomanship from Misery. That was unexpected.
Dick: Who knows what to expect from her? This is only her second match with the promotion.
(FINISH: Lisa hits the Letty Press, which gets a two count on Misery. She pulls Misery up and whips her into the ropes. Misery reverses and puts her head down. Lisa somersaults over her back and puts her in a reverse front facelock, driving her down for a neckbreaker over the knee. She then stands up and gives her a reverse DDT. She signals for the Letty Stretch, but Misery breaks her double underhook and rakes her eyes. Lisa staggers back into the corner and Misery moves in, but Lisa comes out of the corner with a couple of stiff lefts and rights, connecting with Misery's face. She gives Misery a roundhouse kick to the midsection and hits her with another left-right combo and spins, elbowing Misery in the face and nearly knocking her out. Referee Rya Zay warns Lisa about the closed fists, but Lisa goes outside and brings in a chair. As Misery staggers to her feet, Lisa cracks her over the head with it and Rya calls for the bell.)
Winner: Misery
David: What the heck just got into Lisa Letty there?
Dick: A rake to the eyes is an infraction of the rules, but only a minor infraction. Lisa just went ballistic. I've never seen this side of her.
(Lisa sets up the chair and drapes Misery's head across the seat and out the other side. She goes to the outside and retrieves a kendo stick from under the ring. She goes to the top rope and brings the kendo stick down across the back of Misery's head. "Edge of Seventeen" hits as Lisa holds the chair up so that everyone can see "LUFISTO" painted across the seat.)
David: I get it now. This was a message to LuFisto. Lisa Letty may not be known for hardcore, but she's going to bring it at the MECCA Challenge.
Dick: This attitude just might be what saves her from going down in defeat to the First Lady of Hardcore.
David: We've got more action to come after the break. Stay with us!
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, the Pyro Twins are walking toward Katie Piehl's office.)
Dusty: If the UK Wrecking Crew think they're getting away with that, they've got another thing coming. They did not just go there!
Jay: They went there, and all we got was a lousy t-shirt. But I'll tell you what... they're going to go someplace else soon... the hospital.
(They find Katie's office door open so they go right in. Katie is at her desk, signing some documents.)
Katie: Jay, Dusty... what can I do for you?
Dusty: Did you see what those limey sacks-of-$%&@ said earlier? Nobody says that about us and gets away with it, Katie.
Jay: We want a rematch, next week on Go Time. The Pyro Twins vs. The UK Wrecking Crew. We'll show everyone how it should have gone down the first time around.
Katie: Listen, guys, I know you want revenge on Nathans and Fletcher, but we have this little thing called the International Invitational. If you win the finals of the lower brackets, then you'll get your shot at the UK Wrecking Crew. But until this tournament is over, I'm not going to jeopardize a potential money match by giving it away too soon. The answer is no.
Dusty: Katie, we don't care what you say. We'll get the UK Wrecking Crew. They're not even going to make it to the MECCA Challenge. Trust us.
(They storm out of the office.)
("The Goon's Theme Remix" hits and the Ballard Brothers make their way to the ring.)
David: That was footage from earlier on, just after the UK Wrecking Crew's promo aired. We almost had a disaster in the back, we understand. Jay and Dusty were looking for Nathans and Fletcher, but apparently they've already left the building. When the Pyro Twins figured that out, the lighters and blowtorches came out. Thankfully, they were then locked outside so that they couldn't jeopardize the show.
Dick: The UK Wrecking Crew is definitely getting into the heads of the Pyro Twins. I haven't seen Jay and Dusty that pissed since they came to MECCA.
("Pajamarama" hits and the Eccentrics make their way to the ring.)
David: Here come the Eccentrics, who are anxiously awaiting for KDX to get back from the Orient.
Dick: After what happened two weeks ago, I hear that David Caldwell is refusing to come to work without his team by his side.
David: Good. We could all stand to see a little less of David Caldwell.
(FINISH: Huh counters the Penalty Box into a back suplex and tags Cheesecake. They whip Shane into the ropes and hit a double looper. Cheesecake covers, but Shannon makes the save. The Ballards back the Eccentrics into opposite corners with right hands, and whip them into each other. Huh and Cheesecake do a dosey-do, spinning around numerous times. Confused, the Ballards move in, but the Eccentrics stick their arms out, clotheslining the Ballards. Huh and Cheesecake finally let up and are dizzy. Shannon lunges at Huh, but he falls over and Shannon goes through the ropes. They lift up Shane and place him on the top turnbuckle. Huh goes up and they hit the Eccentric Chair. Cheesecake covers and gets the pin.)
Winners: The Eccentrics
David: The Eccentrics pick up the victory, and look to be back on track after being shut out of the International Invitational.
Dick: They're also trying to get together some kind of Eccentric Alliance with Spanky and Delirious, who are taking on KDX next week. This could be very interesting.
David: Up next is the main event. The challenge was made earlier, and it will be C.M. Punk taking on Cynric. We'll be right back with that match.
(Commercial Break)
(Bill Bicknell is standing by with C.M. Punk.)
Bill: Punk, in moments you will be taking on Cynric in the main event. But you have a tough charge ahead of you at the MECCA Challenge when you'll be facing Nykk, and it seems as if you took this match just to distract Cynric from getting at your protégé Eddie Crowe.
Punk: That's where you're wrong, Bill. You see, the Straight Edge Lifestyle Foundation has a plan, and that plan doesn't involve Cynric. He can bitch and gripe about Eddie costing him the pin in that six-man all he wants, but the fact remains that Eddie is not ready to face a challenge like Cynric. Yeah, you heard me right. I admit it. And until that time, Cynric will not be facing Eddie Crowe, and I know that as much as he loves a fight, that has to be eating away at him. This is straight edge, Cynric. It can't be stopped. Tonight, you'll just be another example of the coming light that will shine over this depraved business.
(In the arena, "Soul Creation" hits and Cynric makes his way to the ring.)
David: Punk is busy spouting off in the back, but he better get ready, because Cynric looks like he's just itching to kick some ass.
Dick: I guess since he figures he's not getting Eddie, he might as well take out his frustrations on Punk.
("Miseria Cantare" hits and C.M. Punk makes his way to the ring.)
David: No matter what Punk says, this is dangerous for him. He's got a month until one of the biggest matches of his career, and Cynric's the kind of guy that can really hurt you.
Dick: Punk knows what he's doing. He's proven it elsewhere, and he'll prove it here. He always manages to come out on top.
(FINISH: Cynric escapes from a back suplex and gives Punk a spinning roundhouse kick to the back of the head. Punk staggers forward and bowls over referee David Bower. Punk falls to one knee, and Cynric hits the Lift Off. He covers Punk for the three count, but the ref is out. He stirs Bower and picks Punk up, going for the Shock Cannon. Punk slips out and low blows Cynric. Punk goes for the Pepsi Twist, but Cynric ducks under it and nails a rolling koppo kick. He goes up top for an elbow smash, but Eddie Crowe runs down to ringside. He gets on the apron, but Cynric kicks him off. However, Punk backs into the ropes, crotching Cynric. Punk goes up top and hits the Pepsi Plunge. He covers Cynric, and the ref wakes up and makes the three count.)
Winner: C.M. Punk
David: Cynric came so close to getting a victory over Punk, and would have if the ref hadn't been knocked out.
Dick: Them's the breaks. He might have still won if he didn't allow Eddie Crowe to distract him.
(Punk talks trash to Cynric, and then tells Eddie to come into the ring. Eddie rolls in and applies the Crowe's Nest. Punk tells Cynric to tap, and after a long time, Cynric is finally forced to tap out. Eddie lets up, and Punk raises his arm as "The Leaving Song Part II" plays.)
David: How callous is that? Punk is raising Eddie's hand like he just beat Cynric.
Dick: Well, he did make Cynric tap to the Crowe's Nest.
David: Eddie Crowe is playing with fire, and he's no Pyro Twin. Sooner or later, he's going to get burned by Cynric. We're out of time this week, fans. Thank you for joining us, and we'll see you next week!
