Go Time: 1/25/05

Columbus, OH

("Neocon" opening.)

David: Welcome to another edition of MECCA Go Time, ladies and gentlemen! I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and tonight is a big night that will determine the future of MECCA.

Dick: That's right. Tonight, Katie Piehl will announce the five men on the contenders' ballot for the Round Robin that will determine the first MECCA Champion.

David: But that's not all, because in the main event, Nykk will take on Ace Steel!

Dick: Ace Steel is a friend of C.M. Punk, who Nykk has been having a rivalry with for dominance of MECCA. Nykk could be trying to get at Punk by beating his friend and mentor.

David: All that and much more, right here tonight!

("Hit That" hits and Joey Sprinklers skateboards his way to the ring.)

David: Joey Sprinklers is geared up for his match tonight.

Dick: Of course. Joey Sprinklers is a very geared up guy.

David: He's also wound tighter than a grandfather clock. We're told that our cameras were filming earlier today, and we have some footage of Low Ki encountering Katie Piehl backstage. Let's show that now.

(Backstage, Low Ki is walking down the hall. He comes across Katie Piehl.)

Low Ki: Ms. Piehl!

Katie: Low Ki. What can I do for you?

Low Ki: I know you're announcing the five men on the contenders' ballot tonight. I want in.

Katie: Well, you do have a very good reputation, Low Ki, but what have you proven here in MECCA? You've made a few attacks, but that's it. What basis do I have to justify putting you on the contenders' ballot?

Low Ki: Just give me an opportunity. Let me have a match tonight. I'll take on anyone.

Katie: Well, since you do come highly recommended, I'm going to book a match for you tonight, against another man who wants on the contenders' ballot. Tonight it will be you, Low Ki, taking on Cynric. Just between you and me and the camera... I've already picked four of my five contenders. Whoever wins this match will influence my decision heavily on the fifth man for the contenders' ballot.

(Low Ki nods.)

Low Ki: Don't worry. Tonight, I'm going to show you why I came so highly recommended.

(He walks away.)

(Back in the arena, Joey is waiting in the ring. "Can't Stop" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers hits and Spanky makes his way to the ring.)

David: I don't believe it! Spanky is here in Columbus, Ohio!

Dick: Anyone who knows anything about the independent scene knows Spanky. Here's a guy who had the guts to resign from WWE because he wasn't happy there. Now he's debuting in MECCA.

(FINISH: Joey goes for Da Sprinklanator, but Spanky escapes and waistlocks him, rolling him up for a two count. Joey gets up and knocks Spanky down with a spinning heel kick. He goes to the top rope for a double axehandle, but Spanky catches him with a dropkick on the way down. Spanky hooks Joey and hits Sliced Bread #2. He covers and gets the three count.)

Winner: Spanky

David: And Spanky is victorious over Joey Sprinklers. Spanky is an incredible performer, and I wouldn't be too surprised to see him on the contenders' ballot.

Dick: He may have arrived too late for consideration, but it's always possible.

David: Up next, we're going to see Low Ki in the match he asked for, against Cynric.

(In the locker room, the Pyro Twins are lacing up their boots.)

Jay: I can't believe we blew our shot at the contenders' ballot by losing to those two luchadores two weeks ago, man.

Dusty: Don't sweat it. We're sure to be top contenders in the International Invitational Tag Tournament, anyway. How often do we get a chance to represent our country?

Jay: True.

(The door opens and C.M. Punk walks in.)

Punk: Hey, it's the Pyro Twins.

(The Pyro Twins stand up.)

Dusty: What do you want, Punk?

Punk: Hey, guys, I didn't come here to start trouble. I just wanted to make sure that you're not going to get involved in the Nykk vs. Steel match tonight. I would hate for such a good contest to be ruined by outside interference.

Jay: No problem there.

Punk: Oh... and feel free to come out after the match. I'm sure that would make for very... interesting television.

(Punk leaves, and the Pyro Twins stare after him.)

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Soul Creation" hits and Cynric makes his way to the ring.)

David: We're back here on Go Time, and it's definitely go time for Cynric and Low Ki. Both of these guys have to get a win to prove that they're worthy of being in the Round Robin.

Dick: Both of these men are well versed in the martial arts. This should be very hard-hitting.

("Fighters Passion" by the Immortals hits and Low Ki makes his way to the ring.)

David: Low Ki debuted two weeks ago, really kicking the crap out of both C.M. Punk and Nykk. He definitely made an impact, but he needs a big win to make any advancements here in MECCA.

Dick: The stakes are high for this match, definitely.

(The bell rings and both men circle each other. Low Ki somersaults across the mat and tries to grab one of Cynric's legs, but Cynric dodges him. They lock up, and Cynric applies an armwringer. Low Ki rolls through and reverses the armwringer. He tries to kick Cynric in the face, but Cynric manages to dodge by leaning backward. Cynric pulls Low Ki in with his arm, and lands a back heel kick. Cynric hits Low Ki with some chops and right hands. He whips Low Ki into the ropes, but gets reversed. Low Ki tries a handspring into a spinning heel kick, but Cynric ducks and hits a moonsault kick that sends Low Ki down. Cynric covers and gets a one count. Low Ki rolls to the ropes and gets to his feet. They circle each other again and meet in the center of the ring with a Greco-Roman knuckle lock. They jockey for position, and Low Ki bats Cynric's left hand away with a quick kick. He lands several kicks to Cynric's ribs, but Cynric blocks another kick by grabbing Low Ki's foot. He tries lifting Low Ki and dropping him, but Low Ki uses Cynric's momentum and pulls him over using his hooked leg. They both get to their feet and Low Ki charges Cynric. Cynric drops to one knee and elbows him in the midsection. Cynric follows up with a leg sweep and a knee drop, covering for a two count. Cynric goes for the Lift Off early, but Low Ki rolls back to the ropes. They lock up again, and jockey for position. Low Ki manages to pull Cynric in deep, and starts kneeing him in the face while still tied up with him. Cynric falls to the mat, and Low Ki kicks at his leg and ribs as he gets up. Cynric backs into the corner, and Low Ki whips him to the opposite side, charging and nailing him with a front wheel kick. Cynric staggers, and Low Ki bounces off the ropes. He goes for a Yakuza Kick, but Cynric catches his foot and drapes Low Ki's leg across the top rope. Cynric hits a rolling koppo kick to the leg, and Low Ki falls to the mat in pain, holding his leg. He gets to his feet and Cynric hits a swinging neckbreaker. He covers for a two count. Low Ki kicks back with his good leg and nails Cynric in the head. He gets to his feet and goes for the Tidal Wave, but Cynric ducks. Low Ki lands on his knee, and Cynric wastes no time in applying the sharpshooter. Low Ki struggles to get to the ropes, and manages to do so. Cynric kicks Low Ki in the head a few times and whips him into the ropes, hitting a spinning heel kick. He covers for a two count. Cynric signals for the Shock Cannon, but Low Ki sprawls his legs and Cynric can't lift him. Low Ki counters with some knees to the midsection and pushes Cynric away. Cynric moves back in, but Low Ki sweeps the legs and grabs Cynric's hair, kicking him in the head rapidly. After about the fifteenth kick, Cynric finally manages to get to his feet and push Low Ki's arm away, spinning him around. Cynric hits a hangman's neckbreaker. He goes to the top rope, but Low Ki gets back to his feet and dropkicks Cynric as he reaches the top rope, crotching him. Low Ki goes to the top rope and applies the Hanging Dragon. He breaks the hold at the four count, and pulls Cynrid down. He leaps to the top rope and comes down with a twisting 450 splash onto Cynric. He covers and gets a close two count.)

David: Low Ki has taken control of this encounter, but we have to take a commercial break. We'll be right back!

(Back in the ring, Cynric is on his knees and Low Ki is giving him some Mongolian chops. He whips Cynric into the ropes, but Cynric reverses. Low Ki springboard moonsaults off the top rope right into a dragon sleeper on Cynric. Instead of falling back with him, Low Ki segues into the Dragon Clutch. Cynric is close to the ropes but can't seem to reach them. He starts to fade, and eventually goes limp. The ref drops his arm twice, but on the third time, Cynric manages to keep alive. He edges closer to the ropes, and finally manages to get about half his hand across them. The ref says it's good enough, and orders Low Ki to break the hold. Low Ki waits until the very last second, but does so. Low Ki starts kicking Cynric in the head again, but this time Cynric grabs his leg and takes him over with a dragon screw legwhip. They both stagger to their feet, and Low Ki tries a roundhouse kick. Cynrid ducks and chops Low Ki in the throat. He hits a combination of rights and lefts and follows up with a spinning heel kick. Low Ki staggers back against the ropes and Cynric whips him to the opposite side. Low Ki reverses and puts his head down, allowing Cynric to execute a fisherman's buster. He covers for a two count. Cynric scoop slams Low Ki and goes to the top rope. He hits an elbow smash, and signals for the Lift Off. He charges, but Low Ki suddenly falls back and sweeps the legs of Cynric. He lifts Cynric and hits the Ki Krusher. He covers and gets a two count as Cynric's foot falls across the bottom rope. Low Ki gets up and does his fighting pose. He goes for a shining wizard kick, but Cynric ducks. Low Ki falls onto his bad knee and holds it in pain. Cynric backs up and hits the Lift Off, but Low Ki rolls out of the ring. Cynric comes over as Low Ki gets to his feet and drags him up to the apron. Low Ki shoulder blocks him in the midsection and somersaults back into the ring over Cynric's body. He lands on his bad leg, and tweaks it, allowing Cynric to hit a spinning roundhouse kick. He goes to the top rope and goes for a front kick, but Low Ki knocks him out of midair with a rolling koppo kick to the midsection. He pulls Cynric up and hits another Ki Krusher, covering for a three count.)

Winner: Low Ki

David: Low Ki just won a hard fought contest, but it took two Ki Krushers to put away Cynric. In my opinion, Cynric proved his worth just as much as Low Ki did.

Dick: Both of these men are accomplished martial artists, but tonight it was Low Ki who came out on top and possibly just earned a spot on the contenders' ballot.

(In the locker room, the Pyro Twins are pacing back and forth as Nykk walks in.)

Nykk: Hey, guys.

Dusty: Hey, Nykk.

Nykk: Listen, I got a match with Ace Steel tonight, but I think that Punk may try and pull something. You two have my back, right? What am I saying? Of course you do. Listen, don't come out unless Punk tries something. I want to win clean if possible.

(The Pyro Twins nod.)

Jay: Dont worry, we won't be out there unless Punk shows up first.

Nykk: Thanks, guys. See you later.

(He leaves.)

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Edge of Seventeen" hits and Lisa Letty makes her way to the ring, with the Ladies' Championship.)

David: The MECCA Ladies' Champion is on her way to the ring. Lisa has been having problems recently with her old trainer, LuFisto, who feels that she deserved to be the first Ladies' Champion. But last week, she took it a bit too far when she had Lisa attacked by a... hitwoman, for lack of a better term, who she called La Felina.

Dick: It seems like we should know this Felina, but she didn't really do a whole lot to give herself away. Nonetheless, Letty has to be feeling that her days as champ just got numbered.

(Lisa gets a mic.)

Lisa: In the world of wrestling, there are certain things that disappoint me, no matter how much precedent there was before. Maybe I should have seen LuFisto's betrayal coming, but I was just blind to it. No one wants to believe the worst of their friends. Lu, if you wanted a title match, all you had to do was ask. You don't need to hire someone to attack me. But if thats the way you want to play, then I guess you've forced me to play your game. I may have qualms about fighting my old mentor, but Felina... I have no qualms about beating the hell out of you, once I get the chance. But LuFisto, if you want a title match with me, why don't you come down here and tell me face to face?

("Fell in Love with a Girl" hits and LuFisto makes her way to the ring.)

David: LuFisto has accepted the invitation of Lisa Letty. She has refused to let Lisa have her moment of glory when she won the Ladies' Title, and last week attacked her with the help of La Felina.

Dick: LuFisto knows what she's doing. She isn't just attacking Lisa to be a bitch, you know. She has a goal in mind.

LuFisto: Lisa, Lisa... you certainly were a great pupil. It took you a little while to blossom, but look at you now. The MECCA Ladies' Champion! Very well, since you insisted I be up front with you... I want a title shot. What you need to realize is this... I stopped being your teacher a long time ago. To you, I'm now the First Lady of Hardcore, who will do whatever it takes to get the gold. That includes jumping you, or having someone else do it for me.

(La Felina comes in through the crowd and sneaks into the ring. Lisa pays heed to the fans' warnings and turns around, blasting Felina with a clothesline. She lays into La Felina, and LuFisto moves in. Lisa kicks back at her, and continues to pummel Felina.)

David: Lisa Letty is holding her own against two women, but she's not going to last long being outnumbered like this!

(LuFisto charges again, but Lisa gives her a flapjack onto the top turnbuckle. Lisa whips Felina into the ropes, but Felina goes for a flying headscissors, stopping in midair to apply an armbar.)

David: Wait a minute...

Dick: Felina has a Christo locked in on Lisa Letty... is... is that who I think it is?

(Lisa starts to fade, and eventually collapses. As Felina continues to apply the Christo, LuFisto walks over and takes Felina's mask off, revealing Gail Kim.)

David: It was Gail Kim under the mask!

Dick: Gail Kim was released by WWE back in November, and now she's teaming up with LuFisto?

LuFisto: Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce La Felina... or as you all know her, Gail Kim!

(Kim releases the hold and stands up.)

LuFisto: What we have right here is the leading one-two punch of the Ladies' Division here in MECCA. The best of the brawlers... and the submission expert. Ladies, and especially you, champ, you've just been put on notice. The Dangerous Liaison is here to dominate!

("Fell in Love with a Girl" plays, and LuFisto and Kim leave as Lisa starts to regain consciousness in the ring.)

David: What a surprise that former WWE diva Gail Kim is now in MECCA. This does not bode well for the future of Lisa Letty's title reign.

Dick: I think the presence of Kim has just changed the complexion of the entire Ladies' Division here in MECCA.

David: Up next, Katie Piehl will be here to reveal the contenders' ballot of the Round Robin.

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "I've Got the Power" hits and Katie Piehl makes her way to the ring.)

David: Finally, we're going to find out who's on the contenders' ballot for the Round Robin. As we understand it, five men will be on the ballot, and will all face each other, leading up to the MECCA Challenge, where the MECCA Championship will be awarded to the man who has the best record.

Dick: It's exciting, because we get to see five of the top wrestlers in the world all go at it in what are sure to be ten great matches.

(As Katie gets a mic, the locker room empties out and Nykk, Ronin Fox, Cynric, C.M. Punk, Ace Steel, Spanky, Low Ki, Bryan Danielson, Joey Sprinklers, Huh, Cheesecake, Jay Crowe and Dusty Schneble all come out into the aisle to watch.)

Katie: Ladies and gentlemen, on April 30 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds Coliseum in Dayton, Ohio, we will crown the first MECCA Champion. Over the past three weeks, you have been shown the talents of the men that are standing out there in that aisle. The name of the game has been to impress me enough to get on the contenders' ballot for the five-man Round Robin. And without any further adieu, the first man on the contenders' ballot... C.M. Punk!

("Miseria Cantare" plays and C.M. Punk high fives Ace Steel. He walks down into the ring and slides in, posing for the crowd.)

David: C.M. Punk is of course a prime candidate for a title contender. The guy is simply amazing, and after having a classic match with Nykk two weeks ago and scoring a victory over Ace Steel last week, Punk is certainly a favorite in many people's minds.

Katie: The second man... "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson!

("Self Esteem" plays and Bryan Danielson walks down to the ring and rolls in.)

David: Bryan Danielson scored a big victory in a triangle match last week, beating both Nykk and Cynric at once. Any man who can do that definitely deserves to be a champion.

Katie: The next contender... Ronin Fox!

("Wherever I May Roam" plays and Fox hugs Cynric, and Nykk glares at him. Fox walks down to the ring and enters it.)

David: Ronin Fox is very accomplished in RCW, and is their current Television Champion. He also scored a victory over Trent Acid two weeks ago.

Katie: And of course, the man who started MECCA, beat C.M. Punk two weeks ago, and made an impressive showing in the triangle match last week... Nykk!

("Destroy" plays and Nykk smirks before high-fiving the Pyro Twins. He walks down to the ring and enters.)

Katie: And the last contender, the man who earlier tonight showed us what he had, and scored an impressive and hard-earned victory... Low Ki!

("Fighters Passion" hits and Low Ki goes down to the ring and rolls in.)

David: I guess Low Ki's victory over Cynric earlier in the show convinced Katie to put him on the contenders' ballot, and with Nykk, Punk, Fox and Danielson also on there, this is going to be one hell of a Round Robin.

Katie: Now, the first round of matches will take place in two and a half weeks on February 12, at MECCA's first big event, Bloody Valentine, live on pay-per-view. There will be three matches in the first round, and unfortunately, that means somebody will have to wrestle twice in one evening. When I decided the contenders earlier, a coin toss was held, and the loser was Bryan Danielson. So, Mr. Danielson, you will have to figure out a way to pace yourself, because you will be at a disadvantage. So at Bloody Valentine, the opening match will be Bryan Danielson vs. C.M. Punk! Then, in the middle of the card, we will see the match up that built RCW, Ronin Fox vs. Nykk! And in the main event, Bryan Danielson, you will take to the ring once again, to face your old nemesis Low Ki!

David: Wow! Those are three quality matches right there!

Dick: No doubt about it. This first round is going to be very important in setting the tone for the rest of the Round Robin. It will determine who has the advantage in the next round, and who has an uphill battle to fight.

Katie: I look forward to this Round Robin, gentlemen, and I can't wait to crown a champion at the MECCA Challenge.

(Katie exits the ring as Danielson and Punk meet in the center of the ring, along with Nykk and Ronin Fox. They jaw back and forth, and Fox goes to leave. Nykk shoves him from behind, and Fox tackles Nykk. Punk and Danielson start hitting each other with right hands, until Low Ki kicks the back of Danielson's leg to bring him down. Suddenly, the ring fills as the Pyro Twins hold Nykk back, Huh, Cheesecake and Cynric hold Fox back, and Steel, Joey and Spanky separate Low Ki, Danielson and Punk.)

David: It's broken loose already, and we haven't even started the Round Robin yet.

Dick: All these men are so talented that it's hard to think that we're actually going to find out who's more talented. But that's exactly what's going to happen over the next few weeks.

David: Well, if we can get the ring cleared by the time we get back, we'll have our main event. Nykk will take on Ace Steel. Stay with us!

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, the ring has been cleared of everyone except for Nykk and Ace Steel, and the ring announcer is making the introductions.)

David: We're back, and we're set for our main event. We just found out the contenders on the ballot for the Round Robin before the break, and one of them is that man right there, Nykk.

Dick: Ace Steel, a great athlete and wrestler, has to be a little despondent that he was not included in the Round Robin, but he really hasn't shown a whole lot in the way of big victories the past few weeks.

(FINISH: Midway through the match, C.M. Punk comes out to watch the match. Steel goes for the Steel Spike on Nykk, but Nykk counters with a northern lights suplex for a two count. He whips Steel into the ropes and hits him with a running back elbow. He goes for the Trinity, but Steel blocks the German suplex and reverses the waistlock. Nykk escapes and lifts Steel in a crucifix powerbomb, dropping him to the mat. Nykk quickly locks in the Bellbrookville Cedarleaf, and Steel taps out.)

Winner: Nykk

David: Nykk comes out victorious, and now has some momentum going into the Round Robin. He'll need all he can get against Ronin Fox at Bloody Valentine.

(C.M. Punk runs down the ring and rolls in, hitting Nykk from behind with a forearm. Nykk goes down and Punk and Steel stomp on Nykk.)

David: Katie Piehl may have inadvertently reminded Punk of his loss to Nykk two weeks ago, and Punk has not let that match go. He and Ace Steel have jumped Nykk!

(The Pyro Twins run out and pull Steel and Punk off of Nykk, shoving them away. They stand guard over Nykk.)

David: Nykk's friends the Pyro Twins are out here, and now that it's three-on-two, I guess Punk and Steel are...

(The Pyro Twins pull Nykk roughly to his feet and hold him in place for Punk. Punk moves back in and starts hitting Nykk and kicking him in the midsection.)

David: Wait a minute, what the hell is going on here!?

Dick: The Pyro Twins have turned on Nykk!

(The Pyro Twins shove Nykk back into the ropes, and Nykk staggers off, so shocked that he can't even fight back. As he gawks at the Pyro Twins, they give him Final Darkness. Punk leans over Nykk and points to his own waist, motioning that he will be the one to take the title in the Round Robin, not Nykk.)

David: Nykk has been laid out by his longtime friends, Dusty Schneble and Jay Crowe! What the hell would cause them to do such a thing!? Money? Punk's an independent wrestler. He has no money! Power? Punk has no power here in MECCA! Why, Pyro Twins?

Dick: Obviously, the Pyro Twins have traded in an old friendship for a new one! Well, please join us again next week. Until next time, I'm Dick Broccoli... and that man is confused!
