(An opening montage plays, set to "Neocon" by the Offspring.)
David: Welcome to Columbus, Ohio, for another week of MECCA Go Time. We're here at the Drake Performance and Event Center in Columbus, Ohio, and this is where the action is, folks.
Dick: Word got out about MECCA among wrestling fans all over the Midwest, and we're starting our tour among the home state!
David: This week will see the debut of "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson as he takes on Nykk in the main event.
Dick: Also, the Ladies' Champion Lisa Letty will be taking on the woman she beat for the belt, LuFisto, in a non-title match!
("Destroy" hits and Nykk makes his way to the ring.)
David: As we start off the program, it looks like Nykk has something to say.
Dick: No doubt about it. The Alpha Wolf not only scored a victory over C.M. Punk last week, but both men were attacked out of nowhere by Low Ki.
(Nykk gets a mic.)
Nykk: Columbus, Ohio, you are definitely in for a treat tonight. Because as you may have heard by now, Bryan Danielson is in the building. And he will be taking on me in the main event, right here on Go Time. But first, I have to explain a little something to a little someone. Last week, I had the match of my career against C.M. Punk, and beat him with the Nykkochet. Punk, I know you don't respect the way I handle myself in the wrestling business, and since I don't drink or smoke, I know that's all you could dredge up on such short notice. It's funny, because I look at you and you're no "saint" yourself. It would have given me great joy to make you tap out in this ring, but I recognized that getting the victory was more important right now. And then, after I had the fight of my life, Low Ki comes in and lays us out, and makes you tap out to the Dragon Clutch. Well done, Low Ki. You took a guy who just wrestled for twenty minutes against one of the best technicians in the business, and finished what I started. Good for you. But I get your message. You wanted to impress the boss on your first day, didn't you? But in case someone didn't tell you, I am not the boss during the show. The boss is some chick on a power trip who doesn't know anything about wrestling except what the Board of Directors tells her. So if you want to impress her, maybe you should go kick her in the face, or drop her on her head. Yeah, I've been watching Low Ki, the stiffest kicker in the wrestling business, and that's why I signed him. I mean, what a perfect fit for MECCA! What a perfect candidate to meet the MECCA Challenge! But if all you can do is attack from behind after a twenty minute match, maybe I misjudged you. I know what you're trying to do, and you won't stop me. I will be the first MECCA Champion, no matter who else is on the contenders' ballot. I will be in the main event at the MECCA Challenge, and I will either knock my opponent out, or make him submit...
(An instrumental version of "Self Esteem" by the Offspring hits and Bryan Danielson makes his way to the ring.)
David: Bryan Danielson couldn't just sit there in the back and let Nykk talk about what he will do. I'm sure the American Dragon has a very different idea about where the MECCA Championship is going.
Danielson: Nykk, I have to say that you definitely talk a good game. Hell, you wrestle an even better game. But I want to know something. You seem to be afraid to come out of the state of Ohio to wrestle. Now, don't get me wrong. Most guys wouldn't go to work for an upstart company like RCW and make it their number one priority, but you've done that and you were instrumental in their success. You rode that wave, and that was smart. But all last year, as you were getting more and more exposure, I kept calling you, saying, "Hey, Nykk, when are we going to hook it up?" And then, you took a break and went to Japan. And again, I called you, figuring maybe if you didn't want to do it in the US, you'd be more willing to wrestle me overseas. "Nykk, when are we going to hook it up?" All those times, I got no answer. But tonight, me and you are in the main event of Go Time, in your own promotion of the Midwestern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts. So I just came out to make sure... you'll show up, right?
Nykk: Look, "American Dragon," if you're going to use language like, "when are we gonna hook it up," then you're lucky I don't call the cops on you. You sick pervert! Second of all, RCW was my number one priority, and if you thought I was going to accept your challenge just so you could use me as a stepping stone to greater fame just by being associated with me, you've got another thing coming. But this is MECCA, my home turf, and tonight I will face you in the middle of the ring. And I promise you, if you make it on the conteders' ballot, you will be no different than any of the others. I will beat you, and use you as a stepping stone on my way to the MECCA Championship.
Danielson: Why wait? Let's do this right now.
(They throw down their mics, but "Fighters Passion" by the Immortals hits and Low Ki makes his way to the ring.)
David: Now Low Ki is on his way out here.
Dick: This is heating up now. All these guys want in on the Round Robin.
Low Ki: I came here for one reason and one reason only. I heard that MECCA would only favor the toughest, and that's exactly what my reputation is. So if you girls are finished talking crap to each other, why don't I show you how I earned that reputation?
(Low Ki drops the mic and gets in a fighting stance. The three seem to be about to go at it when "Wherever I May Roam" his and Ronin Fox makes his way to the ring.)
David: Now it's Ronin Fox who interrupts!
(Nykk picks up a mic.)
Nykk: This is supposed to be my promo time! What the hell are you all even doing out here!? I...
(He's cut off as he's tackled by Fox and pummeled with right hands. Danielson and Low Ki go at it, and officials come out to break it up.)
David: The fight has been broken up, and tonight Danielson has to prove himself worthy of being on the contenders' ballot. Nykk already proved himself against Punk last week.
Dick: But nothing is guaranteed. The decision rests with Katie Piehl.
(C.M. Punk and Ace Steel are walking down a hallway.)
Punk: I can't believe that. All of them out there fighting like a bunch of dogs over a piece of meat.
Steel: Yeah, it's pathetic.
Punk: I'm better than all of them.
Steel: No argument there.
Punk: I mean, if anybody deserves to be on the contenders' ballot, it's obviously me.
Steel: Well... you did lose to Nykk last week, though.
(Punk stops walking.)
Punk: What's that supposed to mean?
Steel: It's just... this is a new promotion, you know. Your first few matches are important. What you've done elsewhere isn't going to factor in.
Punk: So you're saying after all I've accomplished, I haven't proven myself?
Steel: That's not what I'm saying...
Punk: Let me make something clear to you, o revered teacher. My name is C.M. Punk, and I'm the one who formed the Second City Saints. I can beat anyone in this promotion, whether it's Nykk, Ronin Fox, American Dragon... or you.
Steel: Oh, you think so? I could be on the contenders' ballot too, you know. Nothing's a sure shot for you.
Punk: Nothing's a sure shot, but I know I could beat your ass. In fact, let's have a match right here tonight. I'll prove myself at your expense!
Steel: You think you can beat me, the guy who taught you everything you know? Bring it on, Punk. I'll see you in the ring.
(Steel leaves.)
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with LuFisto.)
Bill: I'm here with the First Lady of Hardcore, LuFisto. LuFisto, two weeks ago on the very first Go Time, you lost the deciding match to determine the first MECCA Ladies' Champion. Not only that, but you jumped her after the match in her moment of glory. But tonight you have an opportunity to take on Lisa Letty again in a non-title match. What is on your mind going into this thing?
LuFisto: Bill, you may not know this, but the reason I left RCW was that I was not getting my due. I'm the First Lady of Hardcore, and have worked hard to gain the fans' respect for women wrestling. But I got stuck with some little girl from Dayton named Lisa Letty, someone who admittedly never even watched wrestling until she was actually training to do it. And when I saw her hold that belt over her head, I just couldn't take it anymore. I saw exactly what pissed me off in RCW... the Ladies' Championship in someone else's hands. You pinned me once, Lisa, but tonight allow me to return the favor. By beating you, I secure my shot at the Ladies' Title, but is that good enough? I'm not so sure, so tonight I've provided a little surprise for you.
(She walks away.)
(In the arena, "I'll Cast a Shadow" by Pantera hits, and Ace Steel makes his way to the ring.)
David: That ladies' match is happening later tonight, and did I just hear the 5'3'' LuFisto call Lisa Letty "little?" At any rate, Ace Steel is on his way out here. Steel was the one who actually trained C.M. Punk, but he's sort of fallen into a secondary role in the Second City Saints of late.
Dick: Punk obviously feels that he is now the superior of the two. All I can say is that Punk needs this victory after what happened last week.
("Miseria Cantare" hits and C.M. Punk makes his way to the ring.)
David: C.M. Punk is the one who made this challenge, looking to win some favor from Katie Piehl and be placed in the contenders' ballot.
Dick: It should be interesting to see if the student has surpassed the teacher.
(FINISH: Steel goes for the Steel Spike, but Punk counters into a northern lights suplex for a two count. He sets Steel up for a tornado DDT, but Steel won't go over and places Punk back on the turnbuckles. He chops Punk a few times and goes up for a superplex. However, Punk hits him with right hands and gets to the top rope, trapping Steel's head under his legs. Punk hits the Pepsi Plunge and covers Steel for the three count.)
Winner: C.M. Punk
David: Punk picks up the victory over his mentor and stablemate, Ace Steel!
Dick: That's a big win for C.M. Punk, because Ace Steel is no slouch. He's a very respected wrestler on the independent circuit and as a gaijin over in Japan.
(Steel gets up after about a minute, and extends his hand. Punk shakes it and they briefly embrace.)
David: It looks like there's no hard feelings between teacher and student. Steel and Punk remain friendly after having a good contest. We'll be right back with the Ladies' Champion Lisa Letty vs. LuFisto!
(Commercial Break)
(Backstage, Cynric is walking. Ronin Fox suddenly sees him.)
Fox: Bro! What are you doing here?
Cynric: In case you forgot, I'm a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. And I hear all this talk about MECCA being tough, and I want in too. Now, do you know where I can find Katie Piehl?
Fox: Sure, right down the hall.
Cynric: Thanks.
(He walks down the hall to Katie's office and knocks, then goes in. Katie looks up from her laptop and shakes Cynric's hand.)
Katie: Cynric! It's nice to finally meet you.
Cynric: Thank you. Likewise.
Katie: Fox has told me all about you. So you want to try your hand in MECCA?
Cynric: I certainly do.
Katie: You know, we have this Round Robin coming up for the MECCA Championship, and you're a pretty consistent title contender over in RCW.
Cynric: Ms. Piehl, I will do whatever it takes to prove myself and make it on the contenders' ballot.
Katie: That's what I have in mind. Because tonight, it's Nykk vs. Bryan Danielson in the main event. But I may have had a change of heart. With the obvious bad blood between Nykk and Danielson, it might be more interesting to throw a third person into the mix. Are you up for it?
Cynric: Me, against Nykk and Bryan Danielson? I like the sound of that.
Katie: Good. I've already informed referee David Bower. You better go get ready.
Cynric: Right. Thank you.
(He leaves the office.)
(In the arena, "Fell in Love with a Girl" hits and LuFisto makes her way to the ring.)
David: Now Cynric has shown up in MECCA! And Katie Piehl has just made the main even tonight a triangle match. Nykk vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Cynric!
Dick: It should be a phenomenal match. But right now, it's the ladies' turn.
David: LuFisto said earlier that the reason she attacked Lisa after their match two weeks ago was that she feels she still isn't getting her due in the wrestling business. I'll tell you what, if you want to get your due, you have to win matches, and LuFisto didn't do that two weeks ago.
Dick: But there is something to what she's saying. LuFisto's worked harder than just about anyone, and she deserves to be a champion.
("Edge of Seventeen" hits and Lisa Letty makes her way to the ring.)
David: Here comes the MECCA Ladies' Champion, and she doesn't look too happy with LuFisto.
Dick: Not a lot of people know this, but back in the first stages of RCW, it was actually LuFisto who helped train Lisa Letty, and I know Lisa counted her as one of her friends. But I guess when a title's at stake, friendship is out the window.
David: And we have to wonder what the surprise is that LuFisto promised Lisa.
(FINISH: LuFisto goes for the LuFisto Launcher, but Lisa lands on her feet and sends LuFisto down with a European uppercut. She hits LuFisto with a brainbuster and waits for her to get to her feet. She then jumps to the top rope and hits the Letty Press. However, at the two count, a masked female comes into the ring and legdrops Lisa in the back of the head. The ref calls for the DQ.)
Winner: Lisa Letty
David: Referee Rya Zay calls for the bell as someone in a mask is attacking Lisa!
(LuFisto rolls out of the ring and gets a mic as the masked lady stomps on Lisa. She puts her in a front facelock and knees her in the face.)
LuFisto: Felina! That's enough, Felina! For those of you who don't know, this is my associate, La Felina. Lisa, you got one over on me two weeks ago, but never again. Because now, we will make sure that you lose that Ladies' Title, and we will accomplish that goal however we have to.
(La Felina holds Lisa while LuFisto hits her with right hands. She then lifts Lisa in a fireman's carry and hits the LuFisto Launcher. "Fell in Love with a Girl" plays as LuFisto and Felina exit the ring.)
David: A dastardly setup by LuFisto, acquiring the services of La Felina. Who is she, anyway?
Dick: I have a pretty good suspicion, and if Im correct, Lisa is in big trouble.
David: Hopefully, Lisa can get it together and walk out of here on her feet. Up next is our main event. A triangle match, Danielson vs. Cynric vs. Nykk. Stay tuned!
(Commercial Break)
(In her office, Katie Piehl looks up at the camera from writing out something on her desk.)
Katie: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. As you know, we've tried to get the ball rolling quickly here in MECCA, and our tag team division will be no exception. Starting at our first big event, Bloody Valentine, we will have an International Invitational Tournament, to crown the first tag team champions at the MECCA Challenge. What this means is it will be an eight-team double elimination tournament, not only for the titles but for the pride of their country. So I invite teams from all over the world to throw their hats in, and make this a tournament to remember. And in two weeks, the brackets for the tournament will be announced. Thank you, and enjoy the main event of Go Time.
(In the arena, "Soul Creation" hits and Cynric makes his way to the ring.)
David: How about that? An international double elimination tournament for the tag team titles.
Dick: This should be interesting, and I can't wait to see what the rest of the world has.
David: And how about Cynric? He just got here, and he's already been put into the main event.
Dick: Everybody's looking to turn some heads so that they get on the contenders' ballot for the Round Robin, and a win for Cynric here would catapult his status.
("Destroy" hits and Nykk makes his way to the ring.)
David: I'm not sure if what Danielson said earlier is true or not, but both these guys have to have been thrown off by the presence of Cynric.
Dick: Absolutely. They now have to account for a third person, and that can be damaging to a game plan.
("Self Esteem" hits and Bryan Danielson makes his way to the ring.)
David: For those of you who have never seen Bryan Danielson before, you're in for a treat. This guy was a graduate of Shawn Michaels's Texas Wrestling Academy, and a lot of good ones came from that school, such as Spanky, Paul London and Michael Shane.
Dick: And he's new here, so he's going to be that much more determined to give it his all and prove himself.
(The bell rings, and the three competitors circle. They look like they're about to go for a three way knuckle lock, but Danielson and Nykk suddenly send Cynric down with a simultaneous right hand. They lock up, and Cynric gets back up and charges. Nykk and Danielson send him back with a simultaneous kick, and continue to jockey for position. Cynric charges again and this time dropkicks both guys with each foot, sending Nykk and Danielson into the ropes. Cynric sends Nykk down with a rolling koppo kick, and hits Danielson with some right hands, backing him into the corner. He whips Danielson to the opposite side, but Danielson reverses. Nykk intercepts Danielson before he can charge, and Cynric instinctively tips up. As Cynric turns around, Nykk whips Danielson into him. Nykk goes for the Trinity on Danielson, and hits the back suplex. He also hits the German, but Danielson drops down to his back to avoid the dragon suplex. Nykk picks Danielson up wheelbarrow style, and suplexes him back at the same time that Cynric hits Danielson with a reverse jump kick. Nykk covers Danielson, but Cynric breaks up the pin. He hits Nykk with some forearms and backs him up against the ropes. He hits a few chops, and then whips Nykk into the ropes. Danielson gets up and stands behind Cynric as Nykk slides under both men's legs. Danielson rolls Cynric up in a backslide, and gets a one count as it's broken up by Nykk. Cynric picks Danielson up in a front facelock, but Nykk bounces off the ropes and hits Cynric with a running leg lariat, causing Cynric to fall back and DDT Danielson. Cynric rolls on top for a one count and Nykk breaks it up again. He whips Cynric into the ropes, but Cynric reverses and hits a back body drop. He sets Nykk up for the Lift Off, but Nykk manages to grab Cynric's leg and roll backward, rolling back to his feet and going for the Cedarleaf. Danielson comes over and hooks Nykk's arms, going for Cattle Mutilation, but Nykk won't be forced down to his back. Danielson gives up and grabs Nykk, ramming him shoulder first into the ring post. He goes for a clothesline on Cynric, but Cynric grabs his arm and spins, hitting a reverse crescent kick to the back of Danielson's head. Cynric bounces off the ropes and hits a swinging neckbreaker, covering for a two count. He picks Danielson up and headbutts him. He bounces off the ropes and goes for a superkick, but Danielson blocks it with his arms. Cynric palm strikes Danielson in the face and lays in some kicks to the ribs, finishing with a spin kick to the midsection that doubles Danielson over. Cynric bounces off the ropes again, but Nykk pulls the top rope down, dumping Cynric on the outside. Nykk charges Danielson, but gets a hard chop to the chest. Danielson follow up with another one and then kicks Nykk, following with a snap underhook DDT. He covers Nykk and gets a two count. Danielson applies a cross armbreaker. Cynric comes back in and legdrops Danielson to break the hold. Danielson stands up, and Cynric waistlocks him, but Danielson elbows his way out of it and goes for a vertical suplex. Cynric blocks and gets a vertical suplex of his own, dropping Danielson over the top rope and to the floor. Cynric goes for a tiger bomb on Nykk, but Nykk counters with a hurricanrana that sends Cynric barreling into the corner. Nykk picks him up in a fireman's carry as he staggers out and hits a rolling Samoan drop. He goes to the top rope and waits for Cynric to get up. He goes for a double axehandle, but Cynric counters with a fist to the midsection. He gives Nykk a kneelift and then goes to the top rope himself. Nykk staggers to his feet and goes up top to meet Cynric. They battle back and forth with right hands until Nykk manages to shake the ropes and crotch Cynric. Before Nykk can do anything else, Danielson comes back in and ascends the corner, giving Nykk a backdrop superplex. He turns Nykk over and applies Cattle Mutilation. Nykk almost taps out, but Cynric stands up with the last of his strength and comes off the top rope with a savage elbow on Danielson, breaking up the hold and squashing Nykk. All three lay in the ring.)
David: That was an unbelievable elbow by Cynric, and now all three competitors are down. We have to take a quick commercial break. We'll be right back!
(Commercial Break)
(In the ring, Cynric has Nykk in a sharpshooter. Bryan Danielson tries to break it up, but Cynric backdrops him over the top rope. Danielson lands on his feet on the apron as Nykk breaks the hold. Danielson slingshots onto the top rope and hits Cynric with a springboard clothesline. He covers and gets a two count. He picks Cynric up, but Cynric throws Danielson's arms off him and hits him with some right hands. Nykk tries to move in, but gets hit with a simultaneous savate kick, causing him to back into the turnbuckles and collapse. Cynric kicks Danielson and tries a powerbomb, but Danielson counters with a swinging DDT. He picks Cynric up and hits a dragon sleeper, bridging for a two count. Nykk rushes over to break it up, but Cynric kicks out anyway. Nykk picks up Danielson and gives him a snap suplex. He goes to the second rope, but Cynric gets up and hits Nykk in the midsection. He climbs the turnbuckles, but Nykk knees him in the face and picks him up, giving him a backbreaker from the second rope. He applies the Cedarleaf on Cynric, but Danielson comes over and puts Nykk in a dragon sleeper while Nykk still has the hold applied, making him yank back on Cynric's lower body even more. Cynric is on the verge of tapping out when Nykk finally lets go of the hold, causing Danielson to stagger back into the ropes and release the sleeper. Danielson hooks Nykk's arms and goes for Cattle Mutilation again, but Nykk manages to shove Danielson into the ropes, knocking him down with a running back elbow. He turns around, but is doubled over by an elbow to the midsection from Cynric. Cynric rolls backwards and kicks his feet up, blasting Nykk in the face. Nykk falls through the second rope and to the outside. Cynric waits for Danielson to get to one knee, and then hits the Lift Off. As he gets up, however, Nykk comes off the top rope with a leg lariat. Cynric rolls out of the ring as Nykk goes for a back suplex on Danielson. Danielson flips out and hooks Nykk's arms, once again going for Cattle Mutilation. Nykk won't turn over, so Danielson tries to get him the other way. Nykk still won't go over, so Danielson turns it into a tiger suplex. Instead of bridging, Danielson rolls backwards until he's on top of Nykk and somersaults over, finally cinching in Cattle Mutilation. Just as Cynric rolls back into the ring, Nykk taps out.)
Winner: Bryan Danielson
David: Bryan Danielson has won his MECCA debut in one hell of a triangle match here on Go Time!
Dick: This is what you can always expect from MECCA; a good, fun, action-packed show with a main event that tops it off the same way.
David: These three gave it their all, but the American Dragon comes out on top, and you have to think he is now under consideration for the contenders' ballot. Well, that's all the time we have tonight. Tune in next week for another episode of MECCA Go Time!
