Scared Stiff: 10/27/07

Nashville, TN

Countdown Match: Tristan Lee vs. The Human Tornado
Referee: David Bowers

(FINISH: Lee catches Tornado's foot and throws it away, but ducks the spinning enzugiri. He whips Tornado into the corner, but Tornado jumps to the second turnbuckle and vaults backward, right into a gutbuster from Lee. He gives Tornado the Degenerate Driver and covers for the three count.)

Winner: Tristan Lee

(Opening.)

David: Welcome to Nashville, Tennessee, fans, as MECCA comes to you live on pay-per-view with the third annual Scared Stiff! I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and tonight the American Dragon Bryan Danielson defends his World Title against Eddie Crowe in a match that's sure to blow the roof off this place.

Dick: But the question remains, has one of these men joined the House of Lords? They insist that it's true, but both men deny it.

David: Also tonight, the Pyro Twins take on the Briscoes in the first ever two-on-two meeting between these teams. And the tag titles will be on the line as Matt Sydal and Delirious defend against the Surgeons.

Dick: Plus we'll see the traditional Stiff Strike Challenge as Kevin Stone, Nykk, Austin Lee and Jamie Chan attempt to take home the win.

("Gangsta Bitch" hits and Shadow makes her way to the ring.)

David: We're kicking things off with the Ladies' Title on the line. Shadow will attempt to regain that belt for the House of Lords after Lisa Letty failed in her rematch against one Shelirious a couple of weeks ago.

Dick: Shadow actually won her second Ladies' Championship a year ago when she beat LuFisto, so maybe this is the lucky event for the former champ.

("Sacrament of Wilderness" hits and Shelirious makes her way to the ring.)

David: Shelirious won the title one month ago as a result of being Delirious's partner at At Your Own Risk. Because her team won, they got to choose any title match they wanted, whenever they wanted. Shelirious chose right then and there, pinning Lisa Letty to win the belt.

Dick: But due to circumstances beyond her control, Shelirious failed to show up for that tag team match that saw Daizee Haze get beaten down pretty good by Shadow and Lisa Letty just three days ago on Go Time. Call me crazy, but that could seriously affect Shelirious's performance here tonight.

MECCA Ladies' Championship: Shelirious vs. Shadow
Referee: Nikki Alvarado

(FINISH: Shadow goes for the Interceptor, but Shelirious blocks it and drives Shadow's head into her knee. She gives Shadow a Yakuza Kick, but Shadow staggers back into the ropes and comes off with the Interceptor, knocking both ladies down. They're up at the seven count, and trade forearms. Shadow gets the better of it and whips Shelirious into the ropes. She tries a tilt-a-whirl slam, but Shelirious falls on top of her for a two count. Shelirious goes up top for Shadows Over Hell, but Shadow falls to her back and gets the knees up. She turns Shelirious's mask sideways so that she can't see, and then locks in the Dragon Sleeper. She falls back with the body scissors, and Shelirious has no choice but to tap since she can't breathe with a mouthful of mask.)

Winner: Shadow

David: We have a new Ladies' Champion, as the mask was the undoing of Shelirious, and Shadow is now a three-time MECCA Ladies' Champ.

Dick: The House of Lords gained one of their lost titles back, but you have to wonder how this is going to sit with the First Lady of MECCA Lisa Letty.

(Shadow leaves with the belt as Shelirious gets up. She takes off the mask to reveal her true face of Daizee Haze, and thanks the fans for their support.)

David: I guess the Shelirious experiment is at an end for Daizee Haze, as she is no longer the Ladies' Champion. Up next, the Stiff Strike Challenge is happening. Will Kevin Stone three-peat as winner, or will Nykk, Austin Lee or Jamie Chan step up to take that crown away from him? Let's take it up to Jared Schrunk for the rules.

Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for the Stiff Strike Challenge! In this contest, there is a fifteen minute time limit. There are no count-outs, disqualifications, knockouts or submissions. The match may be ended at any time by a pinfall, but if it is not, the winner is determined by the most connected strikes within the time period.

("On the Speedway" hits and Jamie Chan makes his way to the ring.)

David: On the surface, it might appear that Chan is the underdog here, but he's been stepping it up recently, and could very well walk away with the honors tonight.

Dick: You have to watch out for those feet and knees of Chan, as he loves to utilize them, and those will aid him well in a striking contest.

("The Way I Am" hits and Austin Lee makes his way to the ring.)

David: Austin Lee isn't particularly known for his striking ability, though he certainly is competent in that area, but this is a chance for him to get his hands on his longtime nemesis Nykk, and he couldn't pass it up.

Dick: And when you factor in the fact that this match is a point of pride for a lot of MECCA competitors to participate in, he could do something very positive for his career if he were to come out victorious.

("Destroy" hits and Nykk makes his way to the ring.)

David: The leader of the House of Lords is a very underrated striker. He usually uses that area of offense in order to wear opponents down for his submissions or suplexes, but he's been known to knock people out, especially with that running leg lariat of his.

Dick: I get the feeling Nykk is going to shine in a completely new way in this type of environment.

("At the End of the Rainbow" hits and Kevin Stone makes his way to the ring.)

David: The man who has participated in all the Stiff Strike Challenges and has won the past two years, Kevin Stone is not ready to let go of that achievement and fully plans to three-peat this year.

Dick: In 2005, he beat out Low Ki, Joey Sprinklers and Dusty Schneble, and last year he beat Low Ki, Jamie Chan and Cynric. He has gone up against some tough, tough strikers and come out the winner each time, and he has to be the heavy favorite this year as well.

Stiff Strike Challenge: Kevin Stone vs. Nykk vs. Austin Lee vs. Jamie Chan
Referee: Matt Hitchcock

(FINISH: With about three minutes left, each competitor is about even on strikes with Stone in a slight lead. Nykk and Chan have Austin and Stone in opposite corners, and are laying in chops. They signal to each other and try to whip Stone and Austin into each other. They reverse, and Chan leapfrogs Nykk to avoid contact but both still get dumped over the top rope with backdrops. Stone and Austin meet in the center of the ring and lay into each other with heavy forearms. Austin rocks Stone and whips him into the ropes. Stone blocks a clothesline and pulls Austin in for a back elbow. He spins around and clotheslines Austin from behind and then bounces off the ropes, taking both of them off their feet. Austin rolls out of the ring and Stone gets up to receive a top rope leg lariat from Nykk. However, Nykk gets up and walks right into a spinning heel kick from Chan that knocks him for a loop. Chan sees Stone down and goes to the top rope, coming down with both knees right across the torso of Stone. He covers and gets the three count with less than a minute remaining.)

Winner: Jamie Chan

David: Stone has been dethroned from the Stiff Strike Challenge, and it was Jamie Chan who did it! What a move to earn him the pinfall victory.

Dick: He calls that the Falling Dragon, and two knees down across the abdomen like that will knock the wind out of you. Stone could also have a cracked rib.

David: Up next we have quite a grudge match, as it was Ronin Fox who cost Anubis the victory against his brother Cynric a few weeks back, and now the big Egyptian wants some payback.

("Did My Time" hits and Ronin Fox makes his way to the ring.)

David: The former World Champion Ronin Fox is certainly at a size disadvantage in this one, though he does have a huge experience advantage.

Dick: Champion or not, he's still at the forefront of the House of Lords, who claim to have either Bryan Danielson or Eddie Crowe, the two participants of our main event, in their pocket.

("Kobrakai" hits and Anubis makes his way to the ring.)

David: Anubis was very upset that he did not win the Toughman Championship... and he's not going to wait!

(Anubis charges the ring and dukes it out with Fox as the ref calls for the bell.)

Anubis vs. Ronin Fox
Referee: Keith Young

(FINISH: Fox hits the Tail End, but Anubis barely manages to kick out. Frustrated, Fox undoes one of the turnbuckle pads, but the ref picks it up and admonishes Fox, immediately putting it back on. However, this allows Fox to go to the opposite corner and untie that turnbuckle pad, and he throws it into the crowd. He tries to whip Anubis into the exposed corner, but Anubis reverses. Fox puts on the brakes, but elbows a charging Anubis. He goes for the Tail End again, but Anubis counters into a sitout spinebuster, covering for a two count. Anubis gets ready for the Ankh Smash, but Fox rolls to avoid it and climbs the exposed corner, going for Fox Fire. Anubis catches him in a powerslam position, but instead rams him back first into the exposed turnbuckle. He then walks out a few steps and plants Fox with a sitout tombstone. He covers and gets the three count.)

Winner: Anubis

David: Fox's cheating backfired on him as he may have just gotten his spine compressed by Anubis. He may not get up from that combination at all.

Dick: Huge, huge victory for Anubis over a former World Champion, but look out here comes Cynric!

(Cynric slides into the ring with his bo and uses it to sweep Anubis's legs, sending him face first to the mat. Alan Mayse soon joins him and they put the boots to Anubis. Mayse holds him while Cynric lays in roundhouse kicks. Young calls for some help as he helps Fox out of the ring and to the back. They whip Anubis into the ropes and try a double clothesline with the bo, but Anubis runs right through it, breaking it in half and hits a double clothesline of his own. He backs Mayse into a corner and pounds away with forearms, but Cynric comes back with a shard of the bo and slams it into Anubis's back. He digs the broken end into Anubis's forehead and Mayse kicks away at him until the Wild Wolf runs down and slides in. He sends Cynric down with a dropkick, and clotheslines Mayse. He gives Cynric a flapjack and then picks up Mayse, signaling to Anubis. He lifts him into the air, and the Kanines give him the brainbuster/big boot combo. Mayse rolls out of the ring and Anubis follows him as Wolf tells Cynric to get up. Referee David Bowers rolls into the ring and calls for the bell.)

David: I guess we're going to have our Toughman Title Match right here and now, as it will be the Wild Wolf against Cynric for the belt!

MECCA Toughman Championship: The Wild Wolf vs. Cynric
Referee: David Bowers

(FINISH: Cynric gives Wolf a gourdbuster, and then sets up for his roundhouse kick combo. He gets two of the kicks in, but Wolf manages to roll to avoid the third and hits Cynric with a standing enzugiri. He gives Cynric the Twig Snap, and segues into a triangle hold. Cynric scrambles to the ropes, but the ref reminds him there are no rope breaks. Cynric gets over Wolf and stands up. He powers Wolf into the air, but he counters with a hurricanrana, and Cynric goes face first into the top turnbuckle, which is still exposed. Cynric falls to his knees and Wolf bounces off the ropes, hitting a spinning wheel kick to the back of the head. Cynric is out cold, and the ref calls for the bell.)

Winner: The Wild Wolf

David: The House of Lords may have regained the Ladies' Title, but we have new Toughman Champion, and it is the Wild Wolf!

Dick: Fox's tactics earlier had a farther ranging effect than he intended, and not to his own brother's benefit.

David: It has not been a good night for the brothers Ronin Fox and Cynric, but up next we have tag title action coming at you. Of course, it was on October 3 that new champs were crowned when Delirious and Matt Sydal dethroned the Pyro Twins, but the Surgeons wasted no time in stepping up and making this challenge, having been on quite the roll as of late.

("Lava" hits and the Surgeons make their way to the ring, along with Medea Knight.)

David: Matt Stryker and John Walters have been waiting for a year for ripe opportunity like this to come along. As talented as the tag champs are, they are inexperienced as a team when compared to the likes of the other tag teams here in MECCA.

Dick: Stryker and Walters are quite the duo, and now that they have Medea, who has managed two championship teams, this may be their night indeed.

("Clavicle" hits and Matt Sydal and Delirious make their way to the ring.)

David: Delirious and Sydal are proud that they've won their first titles here in MECCA after years of hard work. But you know that every team in MECCA is gunning for them now, and especially the former champs the Pyro Twins are going to be watching this match very closely.

Dick: It's not unheard of for a team to lose the tag titles in their first couple of defenses, as that's exactly what happened almost a year ago to Eddie Crowe and Alan Mayse, and for the same reason, and that's lack of experience as a team. But do Sydal and Delirious have that magic X factor that will allow them to retain the titles?

MECCA Tag Team Championship: Matt Sydal and Delirious vs. The Surgeons
Referee: Matt Hitchcock

(FINISH: The Surgeons hit Bad Medicine on Sydal, and then Stryker lifts him onto his shoulders for the Human Error. However, before Walters can hit the lungblower, Delirious intercepts him with a dropkick. Sydal spins around on Stryker and gives him a hurricanrana into the corner. Delirious hits a running shoulder thrust and stays put, allowing Sydal to step off his back into a flying knee strike. Stryker falls out of the ring, but Walters takes Delirious and Sydal down with a double clothesline. He tries to suplex Sydal, but he slips behind Walters and gets a waistlock. He tries a back suplex, but Walters flips to escape and rolls Sydal up. At two, Delirious hits him with the Panic Attack, allowing Sydal to reverse the roll up and get the three count.)

Winners: Delirious and Matt Sydal

David: Delirious and Sydal score a huge victory, and this definitely bodes well for their championship reign!

Dick: Another established team has fallen to the combination of Sydal and Delirious, and they've definitely proven that they're the real deal as MECCA Tag Team Champions.

David: Speaking of tag teams, up next a huge grudge match as the Briscoes and the Pyro Twins finally go at it two on two. The Briscoes originally targeted the Pyro Twins in an effort to win the tag titles, but now it's about pride as this dream match will unfold right before our eyes.

("Burning Times" hits and the Pyro Twins make their way to the ring.)

David: Jay Crowe and Dusty Schneble have built their reputation here in MECCA as the best team in the world. Victories in feuds with the UK Wrecking Crew and the Backseat Boyz would attest to that.

Dick: And you know that if they can win this match, they have their sights set on a rematch with Delirious and Sydal in the future.

("Gimme Back My Bullets" hits and the Briscoes make their way to the ring.)

David: The Briscoes entered MECCA with a bang, and immediately laid out the Pyro Twins, something that is very difficult to do and still maintain good health.

Dick: Both teams have been wanting this encounter, and some speculate that the Pyro Twins were hesitant to do this as long as the tag titles would have been on the line, but now there are no excuses.

The Briscoes vs. The Pyro Twins
Referee: Keith Young

(FINISH: Jay Briscoe rolls through a Final Darkness attempt, and Mark springboards into the ring with a double twisting clothesline on the Pyro Twins. Mark lifts Dusty in a reverse fireman's carry as Jay Briscoe lifts Jay Crowe for a death valley driver. Crowe escapes and lifts Briscoe into a reverse fireman's carry, and Mark and Jay hit a simultaneous Cutthroat Driver/Overhaul. They make a double cover, but Dusty and Jay Briscoe get their feet across the bottom rope at the same time. Jay Crowe and Mark duke it out in the middle of the ring, and Mark ducks a spinning backfist and drives Jay Crowe into the corner. He throws him out right into his brother, who lifts Crowe for the Jay Driller. Mark springboards to the apron and then springboards back in for the Spike Jay Driller. Mark covers, but Dusty rolls under a clothesline from Jay Briscoe and barely manages to make the save. He grabs Jay Briscoe's tights and pitches him to the floor, but eats a dropkick from Mark. Mark goes up top and tries a shooting star press, but Dusty moves. He and Crowe give Mark Final Darkness, knocking him out cold. Crowe covers, but Jay Briscoe barely dives through the ropes and manages to make the save. He fights off both Pyro Twins with right hands, and whips Crowe into one corner and Dusty into another. He hits a charging clothesline on Dusty and charges Crowe, but gets backdropped to the floor. The Pyro Twins pick Mark back up and give him another Final Darkness. Crowe covers, and Jay tries to get back in the ring but gets kicked straight in the face by Dusty, and the Pyro Twins get the three count.)

Winners: The Pyro Twins

David: What a classic tag team encounter we've just witnessed, as the Pyro Twins come out with a victory over the Briscoes!

Dick: Mark was done after that first Final Darkness, but I guess the Pyro Twins felt they'd better make sure that he stays down, even though no one has ever kicked out of that move.

David: Not only is this serious bragging rights for the Pyro Twins, but they have to be considered the top contenders for the tag titles now.

(The Pyro Twins get a funny look in their eyes outside as they watch Jay tend to Mark. Jay Crowe goes under the ring and gets a can of ether, as Dusty pulls out a Zippo. Jay Briscoe sees what they're doing and goes outside the ring, fighting them both with right hands. The Pyro Twins double team him as they brawl their way over by one of the corners. Mark finally gets up and sees what's going on. He goes to the top rope and dives onto the pile with a somersault plancha. The two teams duke it out as officials come out to separate them.)

David: This is not over by any means. The Briscoes are not going to take this loss lying down, especially if the Pyro Twins decide they want to bring fire into this. Up next, our main event. Bryan Danielson takes on Eddie Crowe with the World Title at stake!

(In the locker room, the House of Lords has gathered. Fox is sitting on a bench with an icepack on his neck, while Cynric is slumped over in the corner. Lisa Letty and Shadow are standing by, while Joey and Huh are trying to shove each other out of the way in order to be next to Nykk, who is pacing back and forth.)

Nykk: Okay, MECCA, so my soldiers have been down tonight. Thankfully, I managed to come out of the Stiff Strike Challenge unscathed, and Shadow, congratulations on becoming the new Ladies' Champion, but two of my trusted associates, Fox and Cynric are down and out. You guys gave a valiant effort, and Cynric, if the Wild Wolf hadn't jumped you, you'd still be the Toughman Champion. Be that as it may, I'm issuing one final warning for this title match. We've acquired the services of one of the participants; Eddie and Danielson may not want to believe us, but with that belt on the line, they have no choice. No matter who comes out on top, the House of Lords will regain the symbol of power that is rightfully ours, and rule over MECCA for all time. Come on, you guys. We've got to watch this very closely.

(He pulls Joey and Huh out of the locker room with him.)

(In the arena, "Noots" hits and Eddie Crowe makes his way to the ring.)

David: The House of Lords still claims to have someone in their pocket, and in Danielson's eyes, it's Eddie Crowe after the miscommunication they had on Go Time this past week.

Dick: This is Eddie Crowe's first title match since losing the belt back in May, and the first time around he held the title for thirteen months. He says he plans on picking up where he left off and that he doesn't need the House of Lords to do it.

("The Final Countdown" hits and Bryan Danielson makes his way to the ring.)

David: The American Dragon is also under suspicion from Eddie, as he thinks it's too obvious that Nykk would just announce the House of Lords' plans like this.

Dick: I have a hard time believing it after Danielson worked so hard to take that belt from Ronin Fox, but it all comes back to Alan Mayse's betrayal. We would have never thought that possible, yet it happened, which means we have to question everyone's integrity.

Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Scared Stiff main event! This contest is schedule for one fall and is for the MECCA World Championship! Introducing first, the challenger... from Bellbrook, Ohio, and weighing in at 195 lbs... he is a former MECCA Tag Team and World Champion... Eddieeeee Croooooowe! And his opponent... from Aberdeen, Washington, and weighing in at 190 lbs... he is the current reigning and defending MECCA World Heavyweight Chamipon... the American Dragon Bryaaaan Danielsoooooon!

MECCA World Championship: Bryan Danielson vs. Eddie Crowe
Referee: David Bowers

(FINISH: Eddie goes for the 450 back senton, but Danielson gets his knees up into Eddie's back. He hooks him and immediately goes for his elbow combination, but Eddie rolls backwards and escapes. Danielson gets to his feet and meets him with a roaring forearm, followed by a snap butterfly suplex. He goes to the top rope, but Eddie gets to his feet and leaps up with him, hitting a super brainbuster. He covers, but Danielson barely gets a foot over the bottom rope at two. Eddie can't believe it, and drags Danielson to the center of the ring. He goes for the Crowe's Nest, but Danielson counters into a small package for a close two count. They get to their feet and Danielson ducks a clothesline and hits a tiger suplex, but can't bridge for the pin. They both get to their feet at the seven count, and Danielson headbutts Eddie. Eddie responds with a left jab and Dragon headbutts him again. They go back and forth until Eddie tries a right hook and Danielson ducks and counters with a standing enzugiri. He goes for a crucifix, but Eddie doesn't fall. Danielson starts laying in the elbows in that position, and Eddie falls to the mat. However, he powers up to his feet before the ref can stop the match. Danielson slips behind him and goes for Cattle Mutilation. Eddie runs to the ropes and uses the corner to propel himself up and over Danielson. Dragon drops down and takes Eddie over in a victory roll, but instead of hooking him for the pin, allows him to sit up and applies the Crossface Chickenwing. Eddie reaches for the ropes, but Danielson scoots back to the middle of the ring and locks in the body scissors. Eddie starts to fade, but eventually taps out before he can lose consciousness.)

Winner: Bryan Danielson

David: Bryan Danielson has finally done it! He has taken down his toughest rival in MECCA, Eddie Crowe! And what a match we just witnessed.

Dick: What a great way to cap off the evening, but will there be respect shown after everything they've gone through?

(Eddie gets back to his feet and they stare at each other for a moment before Nykk comes down to the ring. He applauds, and offers his hand to Danielson. Danielson brushes him off, and Nykk then offers his hand to Eddie, who gives him the finger. Nykk makes a signal and Huh and Joey Sprinklers run in through the crowd and attack Eddie and Danielson from behind.)

David: The House of Lords is attacking, and it looks as if Nykk was lying all along! There is no new member!

(Nykk joins Joey in attacking Eddie, and they whip him into the ropes. Eddie hits a double clothesline just as Danielson sends Huh down with his roaring forearm. Nykk gets up in the corner and Eddie hits a charging dropkick, and whips him right into a European uppercut from Danielson. Eddie gives Joey the Gutwrench Driver, and Danielson goes to the top rope and hits Huh with a missile dropkick. The House of Lords flee the ring as Eddie and Danielson meet in the center and shake hands.)

David: This plot may have backfired on Nykk, because now two substantial allies have been forged tonight, and Eddie and Danielson have a common enemy.

Dick: Respect has been shown between these two, but Bryan Danielson remains MECCA World Champion.

David: We'll see you on Go Time, fans. Thank you for joining us!
