Liberty or Death: 7/21/07

Charlotte, NC

Countdown Match: Delirious vs. Dreamo
Referee: Keith Young

(FINISH: Delirious hits Shadows Over Hell and covers for a two count. He whips Dreamo into the ropes, but he reverses and hits a hurricanrana. He goes for a suplex, but Delirious escapes and hits the Chemical Imbalance #2 for the three count.)

Winner: Delirious

("Public Enemy #1" by the Genitorturers opening.)

David: We are live from Charlotte, North Carolina, as MECCA presents Liberty or Death, live on pay-per-view! Thank you for joining us, fans. As always, I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and tonight Ronin Fox perhaps has his toughest challenge to date as he takes on Low Ki with the World Title on the line.

Dick: Not only that, but a best of three tag team series will take place to determine just which group gets to book Summertime Showdown next month. In one of those matches, the tag titles will be on the line as the Pyro Twins defend against Eddie Crowe and Alan Mayse!

David: Plus the Lisa Letty Invitational Battle Royale in order to determine the number one contender for the Ladies' Title, and the winner of that match will get a shot at Summertime Showdown.

("Pajamarama" hits and Huh and Joey Sprinklers make their way to the ring, arguing all the way there.)

David: And here come the two lackeys of the House of Lords, and if anyone has taken a backwards step in their careers lately by joining up with Nykk, it's these two.

Dick: They were doing so well at the beginning of the year, but they're so busy sucking up to Nykk that they've been sucking in the ring.

("The Final Countdown" hits and Bryan Danielson and Kevin Stone make their way to the ring.)

David: Danielson and Stone were tired of getting pushed around by the House of Lords, and formed this alliance to repel their efforts to dominate MECCA. And with Katie Piehl back and Austin Lee recently debuting, that alliance could be getting stronger.

Dick: This is the first match in the tag team series, which will pit Katie's representatives against the House of Lords.

Bryan Danielson and Kevin Stone vs. Huh and Joey Sprinklers
Referee: Keith Young

(FINISH: Stone breaks through a double clothesline attempt and tries one of his own, but Huh and Joey give him a double drop toehold. They bounce off the ropes and hit a simultaneous senton and legdrop. Joey covers, but gets launched off by Stone. Danielson comes in and nails Huh with a European uppercut. He ducks a clothesline from Joey and gives him a Regalplex for a two count. Danielson segues into his knockout elbows, but just before the ref calls for the bell, Huh makes the save. Huh bounces off the ropes, but Danielson headbutts him and stops him in his tracks. Stone gives Huh a big boot and then picks him up. Danielson sets Joey up behind Huh, and Stone lifts them both and straddles their legs on Danielson's shoulders. Stone then turns and drives them both down with a double Stone Cutter. He covers Joey and Danielson covers Huh for the double three count.)

Winners: Bryan Danielson and Kevin Stone

David: That's one for the executor of MECCA, and if Alan Mayse and Eddie Crowe win the tag titles later on, that will decide the series and Nykk and Cynric vs. the UKWC will be moot.

Dick: The opposition to the House of Lords has the chance to really embarrass them tonight by going 3-0 in the tag team series, and they're off to a hell of a start.

(Backstage, Jamie Chan is packing his bag in the locker room when Nykk walks in.)

Nykk: I wouldn't be packing just yet.

Chan: Nykk... what are you up to?

Nykk: Listen, about that whole Caldwell thing, I know we don't exactly see eye to eye but I can appreciate how you were trying to move up the ladder and further your career. And now that the Project gravy train has moved on, you look to be in need of an opportunity. With that being said, I have a little task for you tonight.

Chan: Why should I do anything for you?

Nykk: Hey, it doesn't hurt to be in good standing with the boss, and I've got a few guys here that might persuade you. Let me introduce you to Ben Franklin... and his clones.

(Nykk pulls a thousand dollars out of his pocket and hands it to Chan.)

Nykk: That's a thousand bucks, one hell of a bonus if you're up for what I have in mind.

(Chan takes the money.)

Chan: What is it?

Nykk: I know that Katie Piehl is going to throw Austin Lee at me when I least expect it, because I've seen him in the building tonight. All of my guys are busy, so I need you to take him out if he sticks his nose in our business. I've seen you in action, and I saw you dismantle Delirious on Go Time. I know you can do it. What do you think?

Chan: I think Lee is a dead man if he shows up out in that arena.

Nykk: Good man.

(Nykk pats him on the chest and leaves.)

(In the arena, Jared Schrunk is announcing the Lisa Letty Invitational Battle Royale when Lisa and Shadow walk out onto the stage with a mic.)

Lisa: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Jared, you may be the ring announcer, but this is the Lisa Letty Invitational, which means this battle royale is in my honor, and I can do whatever I want. So tonight, I'm going to introduce ten potential challengers to my belt, and one lucky lady will meet me at Summertime Showdown in one month. So without further adieu, let's get this thing underway, and since this is my battle royale, make sure to hit MY music!

("Serve the Shame" hits and Nikki Chandler makes her way to the ring.)

Lisa: Second best for life, she's a member of the UK Wrecking Crew, and we're still not sure what she adds to the group. She's what would be known as a lame duck challenger... Nikki Chandler, ladies and gentlemen!

(Magenta and Coquette make their way to the ring.)

Lisa: Proof that Australian-French relations are in fact possible, and rumor has it they enjoy relations of another kind, Coquette and Magenta may be good friends, but only one can challenge me at Summertime Showdown, and these two aren't even close to ready.

(Daizee Haze makes her way to the ring.)

Lisa: Here's a girl who doesn't believe in bathing, and who we had to pry away from the tree she was hugging to be here tonight... she carries a flower with her wherever she goes so that the cops don't get suspicious of the smell and raid her stash, her outfits are the biggest eyesore in wrestling, Daizee Haze!

(Wesna makes her way to the ring.)

Lisa: From the third world of Croatia, she's traveled a long way to be here, ladies and gentlemen. Underdeveloped countries bring you underdeveloped wrestlers, and just what is a Wesna anyway? Is it a name, a thing? I don't know!

(Mercedes Martinez makes her way to the ring.)

Lisa: Speaking of coming a long way, our next participant had to jump four fences and crawl through a tunnel to get here...

David: We apologize, fans.

Lisa: She came here to make a better life for herself, but will just end up being relegated to serve the bottom of the barrel... Mercedes Martinez!

David: She's from Connecticut, Lisa.

Dick: It still applies.

(Zoe Alexander makes her way to the ring.)

Lisa: Here comes a woman whose entire career has been a mistake. A starlet no longer, she'll never amount to anything in MECCA if I have anything to say about it, Zoe Alexander!

(Heather Star makes her way to the ring.)

Lisa: Legend has it that Ric Flair could carry a broomstick to a three-star match, and though Flair has never been in MECCA, tonight we have the broomstick! I present to you "Heavenly" Heather Storm!

David: That's Heather Star, genius.

(Sara Del Rey makes her way to the ring.)

Lisa: It's time to introduce California's ugliest female, she was trained by an overrated poseur, she likes to wear that butt-ruffle to hide her ginormous ass, you can't call her a Death Rey because she's nothing more than a laser pointer, Sara Del Rey!

(Kelly Schweickart makes her way to the ring.)

Lisa: And finally, a girl with a last name no one can spell, a girl I embarrassed and took this title from, and a girl who hasn't been relevant since that night, Kelly Schweickart. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, and now while you ladies fight to determine who's going to lose at Summertime Showdown, Shadow and I are going to the back because there is no way that any of you could take this belt from the House of Lords.

David: What an insincere introduction by our Ladies' Champion, and the participants in this match certainly didn't appreciate that.

Dick: They'll have to put up with it, though, if they want a title shot next month.

The Lisa Letty Invitational Battle Royale
Referees: Rya Zeh and Nikki Alvarado

(FINISH: Coquette is the first thrown out, eliminated by Daizee. Mercedes eliminates Zoe, Star and Schweickart eliminate Chandler, Del Rey is tossed out by Coquette, Star and Schweickart are dumped out by Mercedes, and Daizee eliminates Coquette and Wesna, who are grappling on the ropes. Mercedes and Daizee slug it out, and Mercedes whips Daizee into the ropes. Daizee ducks a clothesline and take her over with a flying headscissors. She dumps Mercedes over the top and onto the apron, but can't get her off. She bounces off the ropes, but Mercedes counters with a backdrop. Daizee lands on the apron and they slug it out again. Mercedes lifts Daizee into a firewoman's carry, but Daizee slips out and lands back in the ring. She gives Mercedes the heart punch, and she sails to the floor.)

Winner: Daizee Haze

David: Daizee Haze will go on to receive a title shot at Summertime Showdown, and what a hard fought victory.

Dick: The Haze is certainly a fierce competitor, and if anyone can get the belt away from Lisa, she could.

David: Up next is a special singles challenge. A couple weeks back, the Surgeons attacked the Killer Kanines after losing a match to them, injuring the Wild Wolf in the process. However, the Kanines came back this past week on Go Time and laid down a challenge for either of the Surgeons to take on Anubis right here tonight.

("Lava" by Ministry hits and John Walters makes his way to the ring, along with Matt Stryker.)

David: I guess it will be John Walters taking up the challenge of Anubis, and this new attitude of the Surgeons has certainly changed the fans' perception of them.

Dick: This could be a necessary step to move their careers forward, but I do think one of the last teams you want to take cheap shots at is the Killer Kanines.

("Kobrakai" hits and Anubis makes his way to the ring, along with the Wild Wolf and Medea Knight.)

David: Anubis is an absolute beast, and Walters certainly has his work cut out for him.

Dick: This should be an interesting precursor to when these two teams surely meet again.

Anubis vs. John Walters
Referee: Matt Hitchcock

(FINISH: Anubis hits a corner clotheslines and then beels Walters to the middle of the ring. He goes for the Ankh Smash, but Walters ducks. He hits a step up enzugiri and tries to lift Anubis for the Hurricane DDT, but Anubis elbows him in the head. He goes for a back suplex, but Walters flips out of it and counters with a lung blower. He covers and gets a close two count. Stryker gets on the apron and enters the ring, but the Wild Wolf comes in and tackles him. As the ref separates the two, Medea gets on the apron. Walters brings her into the ring and threatens to hit her, but Anubis shoves Walters out of the way and stands in front of Medea. She suddenly springs up and gives Anubis a low blow. Walters rolls him up and gets the three count.)

Winner: John Walters

David: Medea Knight has just turned against the Killer Kanines, and it looks as if she has joined up with the Surgeons! How ungrateful can you be? The Wild Wolf and Anubis are the ones who rescued her from the David Caldwell Project!

Dick: What chicanery on Knight's part, but let's wait and hear her out.

(Stryker throws Wolf into the barricade on the floor, and lets Medea put the boots to his injured arm. They go back into the ring and Stryker lifts Anubis on his shoulders and they give him the Human Error. Medea brings a chair in, and they work over Anubis's back, as Medea requests a mic.)

Medea: Listen, I've already led one tag team to gold here in MECCA. What, you think David Caldwell knew anything about managing? And Killer Kanines, I led you to tag team gold as well, but you know what? You're no longer the champs! You blew it last month, but I've never been one to rest on my laurels. I have a new hungry team ready for me to work my magic and make them champions! As the old saying goes: it's nothing personal, just business!

(She kicks Anubis one last time as "Lava" plays and she and the Surgeons leave the ring.)

David: The Killer Kanines have been laid out once again, and this feud has just escalated with the defection of Medea Knight.

Dick: The Surgeons are determined to make their name at the expense of the Killer Kanines, but time will tell if Medea can mold them into tag team champs.

David: Up next is the second match in the tag team series to determine who books the Summertime Showdown card. Katie Piehl is up 1-0 over the House of Lords as a result of Stone and Danielson's earlier victory over Huh and Joey, but up next the tag team titles are on the line. The Pyro Twins defend against Alan Mayse and their former best friend, Eddie Crowe.

("Noots" hits and Eddie Crowe and Alan Mayse make their way to the ring.)

David: Alan and Eddie have been very successful against the House of Lords as of late, and let's not forget that they briefly held the MECCA Tag Team Championship last fall when Eddie was World Champion and Alan was Toughman Champion.

Dick: We had a tie for first double champion in MECCA history, but they couldn't hold all that gold for long. Now that they no longer have their singles titles, maybe focus on the tag team division is just what they need.

David: Let'ts not forget that Alan also has a World Title shot coming up at Summertime Showdown, as a result of winning the Eight-Man Throwdown at Punked Out.

("Burning Times" hits and the Pyro Twins make their way to the ring.)

David: Eddie was certainly upset to find out that his brother and best friend joined up with Nykk, and thanks to the House of Lords, they are the MECCA Tag Team Champions once again.

Dick: Eddie has shown in the past that he's more than willing to take it to Dusty and his brother Jay. Now he has the chance to take away something that the House of Lords holds very dear, and that's gold.

MECCA Tag Team Championship: Eddie Crowe and Alan Mayse vs. The Pyro Twins
Referee: David Bowers

(FINISH: The Pyro Twins go for Final Darkness on Eddie, but he somersaults out of it and ducks down as Alan springboards to the top rope and takes the Pyro Twins down with a double dropkick. He puts Jay in a bow-and-arrow, and Eddie goes for the Eddie Dive. However, Dusty is back up and pulls Eddie off the ropes, causing him to hit his head on the turnbuckle. Alan lets go of Jay and hits Dusty with forearms as Jay rolls to the apron. He whips Dusty into the ropes, but Dusty hangs on. Alan charges, but Dusty moves out of the way and Jay kicks Alan in the face as he sticks his head through the ropes. Dusty gives him a running knee to the ass to send him tumbling to the floor, but Eddie hits a charging dropkick on Dusty and slingshots Jay back into the ring. He goes for the Gutwrench Driver, but Dusty clips the knee. When Eddie gets back to his feet, the Pyro Twins give him Final Darkness and Jay covers for the three count.)

Winners: The Pyro Twins

David: The Pyro Twins retain the MECCA Tag Team Championship, with Jay pinning his own brother for the win.

Dick: What a match that was, and the fans are showing their appreciation.

David: The Pyro Twins did do it by themselves, so you have to give them credit, despite the company they keep. The House of Lords' strangehold on MECCA is nearly flawless with the people it has positioned as champions. The score is tied at 1-1 in the Tag Team Series, and up next the deciding match as the UK Wrecking Crew takes on Nykk and Cynric.

("Destroy" hits and Nykk and Cynric make their way to the ring, along with Lisa Letty.)

David: Nykk and Cynric are not your usual House of Lords combination, but that makes them an unknown variable in this series.

Dick: Usually it's Cynric and Fox, or Nykk and Fox, but the World Champion has his hands full tonight, so his leader and his brother are in position to gain the House of Lords control of booking Summertime Showdown on August 25.

("Problems" hits and the UK Wrecking Crew make their way to the ring.)

David: The UKWC's grudge started when the House of Lords formed, as they claimed they were the top faction in MECCA. This caused them to be targets of Nykk and company, and the fans have sided with Nathans and Fletcher, who have had a couple of victories over House of Lords members.

Dick: But they haven't stepped into the ring with Nykk yet, so they're still somewhat unproven.

The UK Wrecking Crew vs. Nykk and Cynric
Referee: Keith Young

(FINISH: Nathans bounces off the ropes, but Lisa trips him from the outside. Nykk slams Fletcher and goes to the top rope for the Swan Splash. Nathans intercepts him, and he and Fletcher go up for a double superplex. Cynric gets under them and gives them a double powerbomb as they take Nykk over. As the ref attempts to get Nykk out of the ring, Austin Lee comes to ringside. When Cynric lifts Fletcher for the Shock Cannon, Lee gets in the ring and clips Cynric's knee. The UK Wrecking Crew then give him the Wrecking Ball, and Fletcher covers for the three count.)

Winners: The UK Wrecking Crew

David: MECCA has won the Tag Team Series, thanks to Austin Lee!

Dick: He came out to counter the interference of Lisa Letty, who was doing everything in her power to aid her boyfriend Nykk and get this series won.

(Lee raises Nathans and Fletcher's arms and then they leave the ring and Austin grabs a mic.)

Austin: House of Lords, do you take me seriously now? I've never been one to follow the rules, Nykk, as you well remember, and tonight is the beginning of the end of your dominance. The UK Wrecking Crew will take its place as the top faction in MECCA, and we will show you that...

(Jamie Chan runs in from the crowd and attacks Austin from behind, giving him several roundhouse kicks to the midsection and a right hand that staggers him. Nykk drags a ref to the curtain and tells him to go to the ring. The ref slides in and rings the bell.)

David: It looks like we have an impromptu match as it was Nykk who hired Chan for the night to take out Austin Lee, and it looks like that's what he's doing!

Austin Lee vs. Jamie Chan
Referee: Matt Hitchcock

(FINISH: Austin goes for the Degenerate Driver, but Chan gives him a backdrop. Austin hangs on for the sunset flip, but Chan rolls through and dropkicks Austin in the face. He whips Austin into the corner and gives him a Saitama Kick. However, Austin blocks the superkick and pulls Chan in, lifting him and throwing him across the ring with a modified powerbomb. He pulls Chan to his feet and gives him the Degenerate Driver, covering for the three count.)

Winner: Austin Lee

David: Austin Lee is successful in his first match here in MECCA, and I guess Chan shouldn't be looking into membership in the House of Lords anytime soon.

Dick: What a night for Austin Lee, who ensured that the UK Wrecking Crew won the Tag Team Series, and even got his first match and victory as a bonus.

David: Up next is our main event, as Low Ki challenges Ronin Fox for the World Title. Fox has been avoiding Low Ki for the past month, but he'll have nowhere to go tonight. Can it be Low Ki who takes the belt off of Ronin Fox tonight, after Kevin Stone failed to do so at Punked Out?

("Fighter's Passion" hits and Low Ki makes his way to the ring.)

David: Low Ki is the Toughman Champion, but that title will not be on the line tonight. He wants to add to the gold around his waist and become a double champion.

Dick: I can only imagine what that title defense schedule would be like, but if anyone can do it, it's Low Ki.

("Did My Time" hits and Ronin Fox makes his way to the ring.)

David: Fox is looking a little nervous, and rightfully so. He's been running from this...

(Fox motions to the back, and the entire House of Lords comes out to follow him to ringside.)

Dick: Well, he won't be nervous now.

David: Get the rest of those jokers out of here. This is the main event of a MECCA pay-per-view, and they have no business at ringside.

(Fox gets in the ring, but Katie Piehl comes out with several officials and gets in front of the rest of the House of Lords. She tells them to go to the back, but they don't listen. She finally confers with ring announcer Jared Schrunk.)

Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, I've just been informed by Katie Piehl that the House of Lords has been barred from ringside! Furthermore, if they do not leave, Ms. Piehl has been given full authority to strip the title from Ronin Fox and suspend him indefinitely!

(The House of Lords is outraged, but now Fox is telling them to go to the back. Finally, the officials escort the House of Lords away.)

David: Thank goodness for the intervention of the executor of MECCA. Now this contest will be as fair as it can possibly be with Fox still in there.

Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Liberty or Death main event! The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the MECCA World Championship! Introducing first, the challenger... from Brooklyn, New York, and weighing in at 170 lbs... he is the current MECCA Toughman Champion... Looooow Kiiii! And his opponent... from Westminster, Colorado, and weighing in at 175 lbs... he is the current reigning and defending MECCA World Heavyweight Champion... Roniiiiiin Foooooox!

MECCA World Championship: Low Ki vs. Ronin Fox
Referee: David Bowers

(FINISH: Ki hits the Krush Rush on Fox and tries to go for the Ki Krusher, but Fox escapes and hits a neckbreaker. He signals for the Tail End, but Ki throws him off. Fox ducks a roundhouse kick and jumps to the second turnbuckle, vaulting off backwards for the Tail End, but Ki just drops him to the mat and grabs him by the hair, laying into Fox with Kawada Kicks. Fox gets to his knees and Ki sets up for a roundhouse kick. Fox blocks his face, so Ki changes direction and kicks him in the back of the head. He gives Fox the Ki Krusher and covers, but Fox manages to get a foot over the bottom rope. Ki puts Fox on the top turnbuckle and ties him up in the tree of woe. He goes to the top rope and slaps Fox in the midsection to get him to sit up. Ki goes for the Ghetto Stomp, but Fox quickly drops back down. Ki stomps the mat, but Fox hooks him by the head and hits a modified shirunai. He goes up for the guillotine legdrop, but Ki manages to get to his feet and hit the Tidal Crush. Fox miraculously stays on the top rope, and Ki goes up with him. He goes for a top rope Ki Krusher, but Fox manages to block and gives Ki a piledriver onto the top turnbuckle. Ki staggers back to the center of the ring and Fox flies at him from the second turnbuckle, hitting the Tail End. He covers and gets the three count.)

Winner: Ronin Fox

David: What a hard fought match, but in the end, Fox managed to pull out the victory against Low Ki.

Dick: How disappointing for Ki, who almost had Fox a number of times, but I think with all the dirty tactics and House of Lords interference, sometimes we forget that Fox is also a great competitor. He's proven that he's worthy to hold the MECCA Championship.

David: Thank you for joining us tonight for Liberty or Death, fans, and we'll see you this Wednesday on Go Time!
