Snowed In: 1/13/07

Dayton, OH

Dark Match: The Surgeons vs. Ronin Fox and Cynric
Referee: Matt Hitchcock

(FINISH: Walters hits the Hurricane DDT on Cynric, but Fox breaks up the pin attempt. Stryker gives Fox a backbreaker and then lifts him for the Human Error. However, with the ref paying attention to that exchange, Cynric manages a low blow on Stryker. Fox shakes himself loose and catches Walters on the way down to the mat with the Tail End. He puts Cynric on top of Walters, and he gets the three count.)

Winners: Ronin Fox and Cynric

("Neocon" opening.)

David: We are live in Dayton, Ohio, at the Homefront, the Hara Arena! I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and we have a great show lined up for tonight, as Anubis finally cashes in his title shot that he won back at Scared Stiff, and he'll take on Eddie Crowe for the World Title!

Dick: Also, perhaps MECCA's truest representative, Nykk, will go head to head with sports entertainment personified, as he takes on Kishi Fatu of the David Caldwell Project.

David: Also, the first round of the Women's World Cup continues as the American Angel Sara Del Rey takes on the Grecian Blue Nikita, and Canada's own Gail Kim goes up against the Japanese legend Mariko Yoshida, plus much more tonight at Snowed In!

("Burning Times" hits and the Pyro Twins make their way to the ring.)

David: The Pyro Twins were very upset with what went down a few weeks ago at New Year's Knockout when the CDT sneaked away with the victory in that Four Corners Match, and with seeing how terrified Caldwell was of Dusty and Jay, Katie Piehl was quick to book this match.

Dick: Dusty and Jay have their own issue with the Backseat Boyz, but you know they would always love the opportunity to regain the MECCA Tag Team Titles, and a win here would certainly move them into the top tier of challengers.

("Sweet Dream" hits and the CDT make their way to the ring, along with David Caldwell. On the stage, Caldwell shakes his head and goes to the back. He shoves Medea Knight out through the curtain, but doesn't come back himself.)

David: Caldwell wants nothing to do with the Pyro Twins, so of course he throws Medea Knight to the wolves.

Dick: The CDT are coming off a loss to the MECCA Tag Team Champions, and they're going to need this victory if they're going to stay in contention.

The Pyro Twins vs. The CDT
Referee: Keith Young

(FINISH: The Pyro Twins hit Final Darkness on Dreamo, and Dusty covers, but Medea gets on the apron and distracts the ref. The Backseat Boyz suddenly run in through the crowd, and Acid attacks Dusty from behind as Kashmere gets a chair. Acid slides out of the ring as Jay goes for him, and Kashmere cracks him across the skull with the chair when he sticks his head through the ropes. The Backseats get back in the ring and give Dusty the T-Gimmick. They exit as Dreamo rolls over on Dusty and gets the three count.)

Winners: The CDT

David: The CDT steal another one, thanks to blatant interference from Acid and Kashmere!

Dick: What an upset, as the CDT beat the former champs, and this is just going to make Jay and Dusty feel more anger toward the Backseat Boyz, and considering what happened in their last feud, I wouldn't call that a good thing.

David: When we come back, the Toughman Title will be on the line as Alan Mayse takes on the Wild Wolf!

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Kobrakai" hits and the Wild Wolf makes his way to the ring.)

David: We're back here at Snowed In, and the first of our two title matches is up, and this match was supposed to happen a few weeks ago, but got bumped by David Caldwell.

Dick: The Wild Wolf figured this was good a time as any to take his Toughman Title match, with his partner challenging for the World Title later on. We could have two more double champions at the end of the night.

("Seven Nation Army" hits and Alan Mayse makes his way to the ring.)

David: Alan Mayse is about to be tested by one of the men he and Eddie Crowe lost the tag titles to back at No Regrets. He carries that Toughman Title proudly, and will not let go of it without a fight.

Dick: That's an understatement, as no one has really come close to beating him for the Toughman Title, another belt that Mayse has made mean something in this business.

MECCA Toughman Championship: Alan Mayse vs. The Wild Wolf
Referee: David Bowers

(FINISH: Alan gives Wolf an exploder suplex and then goes for the Tiger Bomb. Wolf drops to one knee and then lifts Alan into a fireman's carry, hitting a Samoan Drop. He goes for the Kanine Kruncher, but Alan kicks him back into the corner and catches him with a drop toehold as he comes out. He tries to apply the Maysochist, but Wolf reaches the ropes and slides out underneath the ring. He gets on the apron and gives Alan a shoulder thrust, and then propels himself back into the ring. He bounces off the ropes, but Alan meets him with a flying kick, and then goes for the knockout blow with his knee. Wolf blocks it and hits the Twig Snap. He covers, but Alan barely manages to kick out. Wolf goes to the second rope and goes for a Tornado DDT, but Alan throws him off and hits him with a running dropkick. He gives him a Tiger Bomb and gets the three count.)

Winner: Alan Mayse

David: Alan Mayse with another successful title defense to start out the new year, and now it's up to Anubis later on to bring singles glory to the Killer Kanines.

Dick: Alan is just about a month away from realizing his goal of holding the Toughman Title longer than he held the RCW Title, and he's looking sharper than ever.

David: We'll be right back with some six-man tag action!

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Problems" hits and the UK Wrecking Crew make their way to the ring.)

David: We're back, and it's time for a six-man tag match. This came about as a result of Tristan Lee joining the UK Wrecking Crew this week on Go Time when he helped put the boots to Tornado and Delirious after a tag match with Nathans and Fletcher.

Dick: The UK Wrecking Crew became a trio, and this could be the edge that Nathans and Fletcher need to reestablish themselves.

("Clavicle" hits and Matt Sydal, the Human Tornado and Delirious make their way to the ring.)

David: Sydal was upset on Go Time after Joey Sprinklers dissolved their team, and he accepted this invitation when Tornado and Delirious requested that he be their partner for this match.

Dick: This is definitely a ragtag team, though they're not to be taken lightly, especially with an accomplished wrestler like Sydal on their side.

Matt Sydal, the Human Tornado and Delirious vs. The UK Wrecking Crew
Referee: Matt Hitchcock

(FINISH: Sydal gets the hot tag and takes down Fletcher with a spinning heel kick. He whips Tristan into the corner and hits a flying knee. Nathans goes to the top rope as Fletcher gets to all fours and Sydal spingboards off his back to take Nathans over with a hurricanrana. Tristan forearms him from behind, and Tornado and Delirious come in as Joey Sprinklers makes his way out to the aisle to watch. Delirious takes out Fletcher on the floor with a tope while Tornado hits a somersault plancha onto Nathans. Sydal goes for a quebrada into a twisting senton and nails Tristan. He covers, but Tristan kicks out. Sydal goes for the Here It Is Driver, but then notices Joey. He goes over to confront him, but Tristan attacks Sydal from behind. He whips him into the ropes, but Sydal slides between his legs and hits the Here It Is Driver. He covers, but Nathans breaks it up. Fletcher sends Tornado into the guardrail and then gets in the ring as Delirious hits Nathans from behind. He goes for the Chemical Imbalance #2, but Fletcher attacks him and they give Delirious a double flapjack. Sydal goes for the Cyclorama on Tristan, but Nathans powerbombs him back into the ring. Fletcher sets up Sydal, and Nathans gives him the Wrecking Ball with an added dropkick from Tristan at the same time. He covers and gets the three count.)

Winners: The UK Wrecking Crew

David: The new trio of Nathans, Fletcher and Lee win it, and this kid Tristan Lee shows a lot of potential, adapting well to the chaos that is a six-man environment.

Dick: But why was Joey Sprinklers out here? The presence of his former partner caused Sydal to lose his head for a moment during a critical part of the match. If Joey ended the team, why is he lingering and why is Sydal the one who appears to be moving on?

David: That question will have to be answered later, but up next the Women's World Cup continues as Mariko Yoshida takes on Gail Kim!

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Brackish" hits and Gail Kim makes her way to the ring.)

David: We have first round action in the Women's World Cup here at Snowed In, and Toronto's own Gail Kim has been looking forward to this tournament for a long time.

Dick: Gail's career has stalled a bit since she lost the Ladies' Title, a title she held longer than anyone else, and she's looking at this as a great way to get noticed again.

("Butterfly Magic" hits and Mariko Yoshida makes her way to the ring.)

David: Mariko Yoshida is a veteran of the ring from Japan, and a future legend in this business. She started for AJW back in 1988, and has since traveled the world, not only being an AJW World and Tag Team Champion and Queen of ARSION and Twin Star of ARSION in Japan, but the CMLL Women's World Champion in Mexico.

Dick: She has also delved into competition here in the States, winning two Chickfight tournaments in recent years. Gail Kim has a tough task ahead of her tonight.

Women's World Cup First Round: Mariko Yoshida vs. Gail Kim
Referee: Nikki Alvarado

(FINISH: Kim goes for the Christo, but Yoshida counters into the Spider Twist. Gail struggles and almost taps out, but just barely manages to get a foot across the bottom rope. Yoshida goes for the Air Raid Crash, but Kim escapes and rolls her up for a close two count. However, Yoshida catches her and takes her over with an exploder suplex. She hits a double underhook facebuster, but Gail barely kicks out at two. Showing frustration, Yoshida whips her into the corner and charges in with a big boot, but Kim catches her foot and sweeps the leg. She goes for the Stretch Muffler, but Yoshida rolls out of it and kicks Kim hard in the head. She picks Kim up over the shoulder and hits the Air Raid Crash, covering for the three count.)

Winner: Mariko Yoshida

David: Yoshida picks up the victory in a hard fought contest, and now Gail Kim will go to the lower brackets for one last chance at victory.

Dick: Definitely an impressive debut in MECCA for the Japanese veteran, and if the photographers at ringside are any impression, this is going to make headline news in Japan.

David: Up next our big grudge match of the night, as Nykk will be here to battle Kishi Fatu of the David Caldwell Project!

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Afternoon Delight" hits and Kishi Fatu makes his way to the ring, along with David Caldwell.)

David: It's time for our grudge match of the evening, and David Caldwell himself made this match after what Nykk and Lisa Letty did during the finals of the Bikini Quest.

Dick: Nykk has been upset that Caldwell lied to him about his intentions when buying out his share of the company, and that has caused Caldwell to sic his bouncer on him.

("Destroy" hits and Nykk makes his way to the ring.)

David: Normally Nykk would have Lisa in his corner, as she is more than a match for David Caldwell, but due to the injury she suffered wrestling Rebecca Knox on Go Time, she is not here tonight.

Dick: Our former co-owner pretty much personifies what MECCA is all about, and he's not about to let Caldwell ruin what he had so much of a hand in building.

Nykk vs. Kishi Fatu
Referee: Keith Young

(FINISH: Kishi goes for the Kishi Driver, but Nykk escapes and pushes Kishi into the corner. He hits a running European uppercut, but Kishi doesn't go down. He kicks Kishi's legs out from under him and then bounces off the ropes, hitting Kishi with a running knee to the face. He pulls him out and goes for the Cedarleaf, but Kishi kicks him shoulder first into the corner. Nykk gets upright, but Kishi hits a reverse avalanche. Nykk goes down, and Kishi bounces off the ropes and slams his ass into Nykk's face at full speed. He pulls him out a bit and goes up for the Rumpshaker. However, Nykk gets his knees up and blocks the move. Caldwell complains of a low blow, but the ref tells him the blow hit the hamstrings. In response, Caldwell throws a chair into the ring and slips another to Kishi as the ref gets the first one out. Nykk blocks the chair shot and dropkicks Kishi's knee, causing him to drop the chair. Kishi doubles over, and Nykk goes for a sunset flip, landing on the chair. Kishi doesn't budge and tries to sit on Nykk's chest, but Nykk moves and Kishi sits on the chair. Nykk rolls him up with a jackknife pin and gets the three count.)

Winner: Nykk

David: Nykk just got the pin on Kishi, and Caldwell is not happy after his attempted chair interference backfired.

Dick: I guess in Kishi's case, if you live by the booty, you die by the booty. What a victory for Nykk.

(Caldwell attacks Nykk from behind, but it barely phases him. Nykk grabs Caldwell, but Kishi attacks him and they exchange rights. Bryan Danielson suddenly runs out and throws Caldwell from the ring. Nykk grabs Kishi by the hair and holds him in place, but Kishi shoves him at Danielson, who gives Nykk a European uppercut.)

David: Wait a minute... what the hell?

Dick: Did Bryan Danielson just help Kishi?

(Caldwell instructs Kishi and Danielson to go to work, and Nykk lunges at him, but Kishi and Danielson start stomping on him. Danielson gets the chair and cracks Nykk across the head with it. Danielson starts laying into Nykk's skull with elbows, and when the ref tries to stop him, Kishi throws him from the ring. When he's unconscious, Danielson places his upper body between the two chairs and Kishi sits on Nykk's chest.)

David: They are absolutely destroying Nykk, and what a setup this was. I wonder how long Danielson has been in Caldwell's pocket.

(Caldwell then instructs them to place Nykk in the corner and they do so, allowing Kishi to give Nykk a Stinkface.)

Dick: And there's the ultimate humiliation, as Nykk has just been the victim of a product of sports entertainment right there.

(Kishi shakes hands with Danielson, and Caldwell hugs him as "Afternoon Delight" plays.)

David: Fans, I've never gotten sick during a broadcast before, but I think I'm about to hurl. We'll be right back.

(Commercial Break)

(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Tristan Lee.)

Bill: I'm here with the newest addition to the UK Wrecking Crew, Tristan Lee. Tristan, what made you decide to take Nathans and Fletcher up on their offer this past week on Go Time?

Tristan: I have worked my arse off to get here to MECCA, Bill. I've finally broken out from the pack and made it to the main roster, but in order to not be forgotten, I have to make an immediate impact. And what better way than joining up with my two good friends, two men I've known since we were boys in London, and also former MECCA Tag Team Champions? Andy Nathans and Jack Fletcher are like brothers to me, and we are going to turn MECCA upside down in our quest for glory. So all you wankers who are against us, cross our paths at your own risk, because the UK Wrecking Crew will demolish you!

(In the arena, "Gucci Forema" by Giorgos Mazonakis hits and Blue Nikita makes her way to the ring.)

David: Once again, it's time for first round action in the Women's World Cup. We've seen Blue Nikita previously on Go Time, and she hails from the country of Greece. She has definitely been impressive in her European bouts against the likes of Wesna and Jazzy Bi.

Dick: This is the opportunity of a lifetime for Nikita to make an impact outside of Europe and possibly make her way to MECCA.

("Alcoholocaust" hits and Sara Del Rey makes her way to the ring.)

David: Sara Del Rey, the American Angel, has also given the fans a bit of a preview of her skills in the past month on Go Time, even beating wrestling veteran Nora Greenwald.

Dick: Of the four US wrestlers in this tournament, Del Rey is the only one who has next to no experience here in MECCA. That says something that she was able to impress Katie Piehl that quickly.

Women's World Cup First Round: Sara Del Rey vs. Blue Nikita
Referee: Rya Zeh

(FINISH: Nikita hits a northern lights suplex and bridges for a two count. She whips Del Rey into the corner and charges, but gets a foot in the face. She ducks a clothesline from Sara and tries a hurricanrana, but gets powerbombed by Del Rey. Del Rey picks her up and applies a standing butterfly lock. When Nikita doesn't submit, Del Rey takes her over with the suplex, and covers for the pin.)

Winner: Sara Del Rey

David: Another win for an American competitor and that means three out of four of them have moved on to the next round.

Dick: Congratulations to Sara Del Rey, and I think we'll see her go a long way in this tournament.

David: When we come back, it will be the main event of the evening. Eddie Crowe puts the World Title on the line against Anubis!

(Commercial Break)

(In the arena, "Kobrakai" hits and Anubis makes his way to the ring.)

David: We are back with our main event here at Snowed In, and here comes the challenger for the World Title!

Dick: Anubis won this opportunity as part of the Wild Card Battle Royale back at Scared Stiff, and as a result was granted a title shot at any date he wished. There was speculation that he was going to use it to get a tag title shot, but he and his partner won the belts before he had to decide. But a couple of weeks ago, he announced that he wanted a World Title shot here in Dayton.

("Noots" hits and Eddie Crowe makes his way to the ring.)

David: Eddie Crowe has been champion going on eight months now, and he has faced every challenger thrown in his path and beaten them, but no one the size of Anubis.

Dick: That could very well be the advantage for Anubis, as Eddie is used to wrestling guys around his own size. Anubis is a whole new ballgame for the champ.

Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us on this night for Snowed In! This is your main event, and it is for the MECCA World Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first, the challenger... from Cairo, Egypt, by way of Detroit, Michigan, and weighing in at 316 lbs... he is one half of the current MECCA Tag Team Champions... Anuuuuubis! And his opponent... from Bellbrook, Ohio... weighing in at 195 lbs... he is the current reigning and defending MECCA World Heavyweight Champion... Eddieeee Croooooowe!

MECCA World Championship: Eddie Crowe vs. Anubis
Referee: David Bowers

(FINISH: Eddie rocks Anubis with a dropkick that sends him into the corner. Eddie this a charging dropkick, but Anubis still doesn't go down. Eddie goes to the second rope and hits a missile dropkick that finally knocks Anubis off his feet. Eddie goes for the Eddie Dive, but Anubis is up quickly and catches Eddie with a powerslam. He covers and gets a two count. He gives Eddie a spinebuster and then goes up for the Sphinx Splash. However, Eddie rolls out of the way, and staggers to his feet. He kicks Anubis in the head and goes for the running brainbuster. He manages to get Anubis up, but he escapes and backs up, going for the Ankh Smash. Eddie ducks it and goes for a standing enzugiri. Anubis ducks and gets under Eddie, lifting him for an ocean cyclone suplex. Eddie kicks at his torso and frees his hands, taking Anubis over with a victory roll and getting a quick three count.)

Winner: Eddie Crowe

David: Eddie Crowe got past the big man, and looks to have escaped by the skin of his teeth.

Dick: Anubis was about one big move away from finishing him off, but Eddie being champion for so long is because of his resourcefulness.

(Anubis kicks at the ropes in anger, and Eddie offers his hand. Anubis stares at him for a moment and then takes it.)

David: Who knew Anubis was a sportsman? He recognized the better man on this night. That's all from Snowed In, fans. Be sure to join us this Wednesday for Go Time, as well as in three weeks at Bloody Valentine, when MECCA debuts in California!
