Countdown Match: Joey Sprinklers vs. Jamie Chan
Referee: Matt Hitchcock
(FINISH: Joey goes for Da Sprinklanator, but Chan knees him in the head. He gives Joey a brainbuster and then locks in the Chan Lock. After a few moments, Joey taps out.)
Winner: Jamie Chan
("DOGFIGHT" by M.O.V.E. opening.)
David: The Modern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts is once again live on pay-per-view, and we're emanating from Indianapolis, Indiana, for the final event of 2006! I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and in the main event tonight, Bryan Danielson will challenge Eddie Crowe for the MECCA World Championship in a rematch from August 26 at Summertime Showdown.
Dick: It's been a long road to this title shot for the American Dragon, but he looks poised to finally prove that he is indeed the best wrestler in the world.
David: And in a huge tag team grudge match, Nykk and Kevin Stone team up against Ronin Fox and Cynric. In more title action, Alan Mayse puts the Toughman Title on the line against the David Caldwell Project's "bouncer" Kishi Fatu!
Dick: And two more titles will be on the line, as Heather Star challenges Shadow for the Ladies' Title, and our tag title match is right now!
("Body Bomb" hits and the Surgeons make their way to the ring.)
David: Matt Stryker and John Walters have had a phenomenal first few months here in MECCA and are coming into this match as the clear number one contenders.
Dick: They've beaten the CDT, broken up Stage One and beaten the former tag team champs Fox and Cynric all since their debut in September.
("Kobrakai" hits and the Killer Kanines make their way to the ring.)
David: Anubis and the Wild Wolf had a year long journey to those tag titles, and they realized their potential last month at No Regrets when they took them from the tandem of the World Champion Eddie Crowe and the Toughman Champion Alan Mayse. This will be their first title defense.
Dick: It's been a month long party for the Killer Kanines, but now the work starts. As Crowe and Mayse proved, it's not going to be unheard of for the champs to lose in their first title defense.
MECCA Tag Team Championship: The Surgeons vs. The Killer Kanines
Referee: Keith Young
(FINISH: The Surgeons go for the Human Error on the Wild Wolf, but as they do it, Anubis counters with a neckbreaker on Walters. He and Stryker get up, and Anubis charges him, nailing the Ankh Smash. He covers, but Walters makes the save. Walters hits Anubis with rights and whips him into the ropes, but gets reversed. He slides between Anubis's legs and forearms him across the back. Stryker gets up, and they go for a double back suplex. However, Wolf pulls Anubis down to his feet and tries a clothesline on Walters, who ducks. Walters charges Wolf, but gets a hurricanrana over the top rope. Stryker goes for a German suplex on Anubis, but he doesn't even leave his feet. He runs to the ropes, and Stryker rolls off backwards to his feet. Anubis levels Stryker with a shoulder tackle and then gives him an ocean cyclone suplex, bridging for the three count.)
Winners: The Killer Kanines
David: The Killer Kanines retain their titles, though the Surgeons gave it a good effort. There's no shame in that.
Dick: Now the Killer Kanines will face whoever wins the Four Corners tag match later on in the near future.
David: Up next is the Ladies' Title Match, and though Heather Star has been on a streak in the last month, her opponent Shadow seems to feel that she has nothing on her. This prompted Shadow to accept a title match with Star, but I think she's going to be surprised by the underdog.
Dick: Heather Star's a great wrestler, but unproven. If she can hang with Shadow, she'll have truly arrived in the MECCA ladies' division.
("Dance Commander" hits and Heather Star makes her way to the ring.)
David: Heather Star and Shadow are no strangers to each other, as Heather was a part of the team that took down the Dangerous Liaison back at the MECCA Challenge II, a group that Shadow was a part of and once led.
Dick: Her agility may surprise the smaller but thicker Shadow, who would be wise to keep Star as grounded as possible. Two big moves to watch out for are her spinning heel kick from the top and the Falling Star Press.
("Gangsta Bitch" hits and Shadow makes her way to the ring.)
David: It was a long time between title reigns for Shadow, and now that she has the belt again, she's looking to not let go of it anytime soon. She took this match because with all the other ladies in MECCA concentrating on getting their spots in the upcoming Women's World Cup, she doesn't perceive Star as much of a threat.
Dick: That could be a case of Shadow underestimating this competitor, but I'm sure Shadow has a game plan.
MECCA Ladies' Championship: Heather Star vs. Shadow
Referee: Nikki Alvarado
(FINISH: Shadow goes for the Interceptor, but Star blocks it and hits a step up enzugiri. She goes to the top rope, but Shadow meets her with forearms. She goes up for a superplex, but Heather pushes her down to the mat. Shadow gets up and receives a spinning heel kick from the top. Star covers and gets a two count. She goes to the top rope again, signaling for the Falling Star Press, but Shadow falls into the ropes and crotches her on the top turnbuckle. She grabs Star and positions herself to slam her to the mat, but instead tosses her over and locks in the Dragon Sleeper. Shadow drops down with the body scissors, and Star taps out.)
Winner: Shadow
David: A great effort by Heather Star, but tonight was not her night. The more experienced Shadow was able to fight her off and make her succumb to the Dragon Sleeper, just as so many before have.
Dick: Good, clean win by Shadow, who is out to prove that the title she holds means that she's the best women's wrestler in the world, not any of the Women's World Cup participants.
David: Up next is a big tag team grudge match, as Nykk continues his feud with Ronin Fox. Fox, of course, has his brother Cynric as his partner, but a month ago on Go Time, he signed for a tag match against them without choosing a partner, and he was aided by an unlikely ally.
(Clips from the 11/29 Nykk and Stone vs. Fox and Cynric match are shown.)
(In the arena, "Soul Creation" hits and Ronin Fox and Cynric make their way to the ring.)
David: The former tag team champs are ready for action, and are probably now just as angry at Nykk and Stone as Nykk is at them, after being cost the number one contender spot for the titles they lost over a month ago.
Dick: A dangerous combination if there ever was one, and they claim to be the greatest brother tandem of all time.
("Destroy" hits and Nykk and Kevin Stone make their way to the ring.)
David: Stone admitted that he did not join Nykk out of friendship, but after fighting for his life against Low Ki back at No Regrets and seeing and remembering the effect the fans had for a competitor, he decided it was time to ask for the fans' forgiveness and one way to do that was help out Nykk, an old nemesis.
Dick: They showed that they make a pretty good team, which hasn't been seen since the early days of FPPVW when they were part of the original incarnation of the Heel Stable. And you can bet that Stone and Cynric have no love lost for each other either.
Nykk and Kevin Stone vs. Ronin Fox and Cynric
Referee: David Bowers
(FINISH: Fox and Cynric go for the Tail End on Nykk, but Nykk rolls Cynric up with a victory roll and Fox comes down into a big boot from Stone. Nykk gets a two count. Fox rolls out of the ring after Fox, but Fox rakes the eyes. He dukes it out with Stone as Nykk whips Cynric into the ropes. He backdrops him out of the ring, but Cynric lands on the apron. Nykk gives him a shoulder thrust and then goes for a sunset powerbomb to the floor. Cynric hits Nykk with rights, and tries a hurricanrana, but Nykk pulls him back up and powerbombs him on the guardrail. On the other side of the ring, Stone kicks Fox and gives him the Monster Bomb, draping him across the guardrail. He rolls the limp Fox back in the ring, and Nykk gets him in a wheelbarrow position. They hit the assisted Stone Cutter, and Nykk applies the Drill Cedarleaf. Fox taps out.)
Winners: Nykk and Kevin Stone
David: Nykk makes Fox tap out, and gets some measure of revenge for everything that's gone down between them in the last few months. If Stone and Nykk can keep this up, we could have new contenders for the tag team belts pretty soon.
Dick: Definitely impressive from these four individuals, but up next the Toughman Title is on the line. David Caldwell made this match as punishment for Alan Mayse interfering with the Bikini Quest a couple of weeks ago, and now Mayse will defend against the David Caldwell Project's new bouncer, Kishi Fatu.
David: Caldwell claims he hired Kishi because of his ability to entertain, but at over 400 lbs., he's also a formidable competitor. It will be interesting to see if it's he who is going to end Mayse's title reign.
(In the arena, "Afternoon Delight" hits and Kishi Fatu makes his way to the ring, accompanied by David Caldwell.)
David: Of course, Kishi is famous from his time in WWE, where he "perfected" a universally loathed move from a section of wrestling fans, most specifically the type that enjoy MECCA, called the Stinkface, which is nothing damaging, just humiliation for his opponent. But believe it or not, that's the main reason Caldwell hired him, besides providing bodyguard service for the Bikini Quest.
Dick: Only the truly tough excel here in MECCA, and this sports entertainment stuff will only get you so far. Kishi definitely has a test in front of him.
("Seven Nation Army" hits and Alan Mayse makes his way to the ring.)
David: Alan is the first Toughman Champion, and has held that belt since the MECCA Challenge II after surviving a brutal tournament that culminated in a Ladder Match. If Kishi is able to get the title off of Alan, will he be able to hold it under the Toughman rules?
Dick: That means that interference and foreign objects can cause a DQ, but things like closed fists are allowed. There are no rope breaks, and the only other ways to win are by pin, submission or knockout.
MECCA Toughman Championship: Alan Mayse vs. Kishi Fatu
Referee: Matt Hitchcock
(FINISH: Alan tries to get Kishi up for an exploder, but Kishi pounds on his back. He whips Alan into the corner and hits a reverse avalanche. Alan falls to a sitting position, and Kishi goes for a Stinkface, much to the delight of Caldwell. Alan plants his feet on Kishi's rear end and shoves him away. He gets up and gives Kishi a dropkick, staggering him. Alan whips him into the corner and hits a jumping forearm. Kishi staggers out, and Alan gives him an exploder. He goes to the outside and hits a springboard dropkick, and signals for the Tiger Bomb. He gets Kishi in position, but Caldwell comes in with a chair and cracks Alan across the back, and Hitchcock calls for the bell.)
Winner: Alan Mayse
David: Alan almost had Kishi, but David Caldwell ended the match before Alan could deliver the final blow. What a crock.
Dick: And they're not done with Alan yet.
(Alan goes after Caldwell, but Kishi attacks from behind. He forearms Alan to the mat and then Caldwell calls for the Stinkface. Kishi sets Alan up in the corner and gives him one. Caldwell starts jumping up and down with glee.)
David: Caldwell thinks this is the greatest thing in the world, but what humiliation for our Toughman Champion. This got old about six years ago, Kishi!
(Caldwell wants Kishi to dance, but as he starts to raise the roof, Alan lunges at Caldwell. Kishi gives him a superkick and then drags him to the corner. He goes up and delivers the Rumpshaker.)
David: And that will stop Alan in his tracks. 400 lbs. down across the chest of our Toughman Champion.
Dick: Caldwell may have blown Kishi's shot at being Toughman Champion, but they got the last laugh.
(Caldwell gets a mic as some officials help Alan out of the ring and to the back.)
Caldwell: And now the moment you've all been waiting for, the finals of the Bikini Quest! It's been a long and hard road to get to this point, and each and every one of our participants were true MECCA starlets throughout this whole endeavor. It has been two weeks since we narrowed the field down to our two finalists, and I'd like them to come out here now. First up, the voluptuous vixen from Vienna, Sandi!
(The Bikini Quest theme plays as Sandi makes her way to the ring, waving to fans.)
David: What this young lady must be thinking to get involved with this debacle is beyond me.
Dick: I guess some girls are just desperate for money.
Caldwell: And of course, the newest member of the David Caldwell Project and your future Ladies' Champion... the Initial Starlet Zoe Alexander!
("TKO" hits and Zoe Alexander makes her way to the ring.)
David: Zoe used to be all for the philosophy of taking women seriously as athletes, but that all changed when she joined up with David Caldwell. Just because she hasn't been good enough to win the title on her own, now she's taking shortcuts.
Dick: She's always been a little goofy, David, but before this Bikini Quest started, I had no idea she was on this level.
Caldwell: All right, ladies, it's down to the two of you. The winner will get the $10,000 grand prize while the loser gets squat! The envelope, please.
(Caldwell takes the envelope out of his jacket pocket.)
David: Did he just ask himself for the envelope he already had?
Caldwell: The winner of the 2006 David Caldwell Sports Entertainment Bikini Quest is... Zoe Alexander!
(Zoe jumps up and down as confetti falls into the ring, as Sandi looks dejected. Caldwell tells her to leave the ring, and he shoves her through the ropes when she's not quick enough, causing her to fall on her ass.)
Caldwell: Don't worry, my dear, you can still work for me here in MECCA if you play your cards right, and I think you know what I mean.
David: Caldwell has apparently not learned the art of subtlety. But whatever that woman may be, Caldwell has no right to treat her that way. How indignant.
Dick: And real big surprise that Zoe won. She's been "winning" every contest for the past few weeks.
Caldwell: Zoe, congratulations on winning the inaugural Bikini Quest, and I'd ask you to give you a victory speech, but honestly, the fans didn't buy their tickets to see you talk.
(He retrieves an oversized check from someone at ringside.)
Caldwell: It is my privilege to present to you this check for...
(Suddenly, Nykk runs out and slides into the ring. He ducks under a clothesline from Kishi and they start trading rights. Kishi gets the better of the exchange, and Nykk backs up. Kishi goes for another superkick, but Nykk ducks under it and clips the knee. Kishi goes down, and rolls out of the ring. Caldwell charges at Nykk with the oversized check, but Nykk takes it away from him and breaks it in half over Caldwell's head. As he goes down, Zoe jumps on Nykk's back and Lisa Letty comes in through the crowd and gets in the ring. Nykk flips Zoe back to her feet, and Lisa tackles her to the mat. They trade right hands as Nykk goes out and gets some more of Kishi. Caldwell gets a mic.)
Caldwell: Nobody gets away with crashing my crowning moment! Get a referee out here, because we have a match and it's starting right now! Lisa, Zoe is going to rip you in half just like she did a couple of weeks ago!
(Rya Zeh slides into the ring and calls for the bell.)
David: We have an impromptu ladies' match on our hands, and I guess Zoe is going to have to wrestle in that bikini!
Dick: Nykk and Lisa Letty have ruined the finals of the Bikini Quest, and Caldwell was none too pleased!
Lisa Letty vs. Zoe Alexander
Referee: Rya Zeh
(FINISH: Zoe goes for the Zoetrope, but Lisa rolls though with a sunset flip. Zoe rolls backwards and goes for a dropkick again, but Lisa kicks her legs way and Zoe crashes to the mat. Lisa goes for a butterfly suplex, but Zoe sprawls out and takes Lisa over with a backdrop, holding on for a two count. Zoe lifts Lisa into a firewoman's carry for a Death Valley Driver, but Lisa escapes and gets a pumphandle. Instead of going for a slam, she drops Zoe right on her head and covers for the three count.)
Winner: Lisa Letty
David: The First Lady of MECCA is triumphant, and has gotten revenge for Zoe beating her a few weeks ago!
Dick: She just showed the David Caldwell Project what it is to be a wrestler here in MECCA, not some starlet.
(Nykk comes out from the back and hugs Lisa as she walks up the aisle, as Caldwell has a temper tantrum in the ring.)
David: David Caldwell's Bikini Quest has come to its ruinous conclusion, with wrestling stealing the show. What a performance by these ladies. However, up next is a Four Corners tag match, and the winner will get a shot at the Killer Kanines' MECCA Tag Team Championship.
("The Chase" hits and the Backseat Boyz make their way to the ring.)
David: It was the Backseat Boyz who originally demanded this match after being cost a victory against the Human Tornado and Delirious by the Pyro Twins. They definitely want their revenge, but a new dimension was added by Katie Piehl, making this for a tag title shot.
Dick: Acid and Kashmere have proven what a great team they are by a victory over the Pyro Twins last month at No Regrets, and you can be sure the Pyro Twins haven't forgotten that either.
("Cool" hits and the Human Tornado and Delirious make their way to the ring.)
David: Here comes a pair of odd, mismatched individuals who would love nothing more than to make their mark here tonight.
Dick: It's a great opportunity for these two, who surprise, surprise, have been floundering since they began teaming up.
("Sweet Dreams" hits and the CDT make their way to the ring, along with Medea Knight.)
David: Caldwell's already stormed out of here, but here comes his team, the CDT, led by Medea Knight. It was Caldwell who interjected his team into this match when he realized it was going to be for the tag titles.
Dick: I guess being in the David Caldwell Project does get you some perks, but these guys had to turn their backs on their fans and two of their friends, Tornado and Delirious, who are in this match.
("Burning Times" hits and the Pyro Twins make their way to the ring.)
David: Jay and Dusty would love to regain the tag titles, but I have the feeling this is more about paying back the Backseats than anything.
Dick: The Pyro Twins don't like to lose, and all I can say to the Backseats is remember what happened to the UK Wrecking Crew when they dodged the Pyro Twins for too long.
Four Corners Tag Team Match: The Pyro Twins vs. The CDT vs. The Human Tornado and Delirious vs. The Backseat Boyz
Referee: Keith Young
(FINISH: Tornado goes for a pescado onto the Pyro Twins, but they catch him. However, Delirious runs over and hits a somersault plancha, taking out the whole pile. In the ring, Kashmere goes to the top rope, but Concession Boy shoves him to the floor. Acid hits him with the Yakuza Kick and covers, but Dreamo breaks it up. Delirious makes his way back in and goes for the Chemical Imbalance #2 on Dreamo, but CB gets a schoolboy roll up and gets the three count as Dreamo clotheslines Acid.)
Winners: The CDT
David: The CDT have just stolen this one with a flash pin, and they now have a guaranteed shot at the Killer Kanines.
Dick: I feel sorry for those guys, because we know that the Killer Kanines have been wanting to get their hands on some of Caldwell's boys for a while now.
David: Up next is our main event. It's been a long road for Bryan Danielson since he couldn't win the title back at Summertime Showdown, but he says that tonight he's the most prepared he's ever been.
(Clips are shown of Danielson's climb back to a title shot.)
(In the arena, "The Final Countdown" hits and Bryan Danielson makes his way to the ring.)
David: This was a Match of the Year Candidate back in August, and tonight should be no less. Danielson says the only difference is tonight he takes the title from Eddie Crowe.
Dick: If anyone can do it, it's the American Dragon. He claims to be the Best Wrestler in the World, and if you've seen this man in action, that's no outlandish claim. He just may be.
("Noots" hits and Eddie Crowe makes his way to the ring.)
David: Eddie Crowe has held the title for eight months now, and doesn't appear to be slowing down at all. He made the MECCA Championship a World Title, and has defended it against all contenders.
Dick: Danielson came as close as anyone to taking that belt, and gave Eddie quite a scare back in August. He's going to have to pull out something new tonight, as I'm sure Danielson has studied his every move.
Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us here live in Jacksonville for New Year's Knockout! It has been a great 2006 for MECCA, and we thank each and every one of you for your support! This is your main event, and it is for the MECCA World Championship! To my left, the challenger... from Aberdeen, Washington, and weighing in at 190 lbs... the American Dragon Bryaaaan Danielsooooon! And his opponent... from Bellbrook, Ohio... weighing in at 195 lbs... he is the current reigning and defending MECCA World Heavyweight Champion... Eddieeeee Crooooowe!
MECCA World Championship: Eddie Crowe vs. Bryan Danielson
Referee: David Bowers
(FINISH: Eddie goes for the Eddie Dive, but Danielson gets his knees up. He hits Eddie with a European uppercut and goes for the Cattle Mutilation. Eddie won't go down, and kicks off the turnbuckles, putting Danielson's shoulders to the mat for a close two count. Danielson releases him and gets up. He goes for a roaring forearm, but Eddie blocks it and hits the Backslide Bomb. Danielson rolls back into the corner and Eddie rocks him with a charging dropkick. He picks Danielson up for the running brainbuster, but Danielson escapes and applies the Crossface Chickenwing. Eddie escapes and counters into a cobra clutch, taking Danielson down with a Russian legsweep and rolling over into the Crowe's Nest. Danielson almost taps, but manages to get a foot on the bottom rope. As Bowers sees it, Danielson taps, causing Eddie to release the hold, thinking he's won. He raises his arms, but Bowers tells him that the match is going to continue. In the confusion, Danielson schoolboys Eddie for a close two count. Eddie kicks out, but Danielson spins out on Eddie, and starts nailing him with elbows to the head. Eddie shoves Danielson off and gets up, but Danielson meets him with a headbutt. Eddie backs up and then nails Danielson with an elbow strike. Danielson hits Eddie with another headbutt, and Eddie bounces off the ropes, hitting Danielson with another elbow. He goes for a spinning clothesline, but Danielson catches him with another headbutt to turn him around, then charges and hits a European uppercut, turning Eddie inside out. Danielson climbs the turnbuckles for the flying headbutt, but he takes too long, and Eddie runs over and leaps to the top rope. He goes for the super brainbuster, but Danielson counters into a cross body, getting another close two count. He hits Eddie with more of his elbows, and Bowers almost calls for the bell, but Eddie grabs him by the shirt and won't let him. He powers to his knees and takes Danielson down with a single leg takedown and rolls over on top of him, but Danielson kicks out at two. Eddie knees Danielson in the head and then takes him down with a flatliner, locking the Crowe's Nest back in. Danielson struggles to get his foot on the bottom rope again, but Eddie reaches around and uses his legs to grapevine Danielson's foot, keeping it in place. Finally, Danielson taps out.)
Winner: Eddie Crowe
David: What another brutal and vicious contest between Crowe and Danielson, but once again the MECCA World Champion has come out on top after so many close calls by the American Dragon!
Dick: Another MECCA classic for the World Title, as both of these men gave it their all, but the tenacity of Eddie Crowe would not be denied, and not even Danielson's deadly elbows could keep Eddie down.
(Eddie poses with the belt as Danielson allows himself to be helped from the ring by Bowers and other officials.)
David: Danielson has nothing to be ashamed of, even in defeat. He has come closer than anyone to taking that belt from Eddie twice now. Thank you for joining us here at New Year's Knockout, fans, and be sure to join us this Wednesday on Go Time for MECCA's second anniversary show. See you next year!
