Dark Match: Delirious vs. The Wild Wolf
Referee: Keith Young
(FINISH: The Wild Wolf goes for the Twig Snap, but Delirious counters into a sitout powerbomb for two. He picks Wolf up, but gets a thumb to the eye. He whips Delirious into the corner, but Delirious reverses and charges. Wolf tries a backdrop, but Delirious comes back down into a standing headscissors on Wolf. He executes the Invitro Fertilization and covers for the three count.)
Winner: Delirious
("Neocon" opening.)
David: Welcome to the Homefront, the Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio, fans! Tonight, the Midwestern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts presents Liberty or Death, live on FSN! I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli, and we have quite a tag match for your main event as Eddie Crowe and Low Ki will take on Bryan Danielson and Kevin Stone!
Dick: And Nykk takes on Trent Acid, with Lisa Letty as the special guest referee. What's going to happen in that one?
David: Plus three titles will all be on the line, beginning with the Toughman Championship!
("It's Raining Men" hits and Cheesecake makes his way to the ring, talking on his cell. Huh is seconding him, but Cheesecake appears to be ignoring him.)
David: Cheesecake will challenge for the Toughman Title, and we've seen a change for the worse come over him in the last month, and the fans are letting him hear it.
Dick: He's become, if possible, even more vain, but has also developed a bit of a killer instinct.
("Seven Nation Army" hits and Alan Mayse makes his way to the ring.)
David: Alan has been a fighting Toughman Champion since he won it, and has even been giving the Internet fans some title defenses on Rundown, our web show. Recently, he successfully defended against Andy Nathans. In fact, lately there's been a competitive sentiment brewing between him and our MECCA Champion Eddie Crowe. Both won their titles on the same night, and both want to outlast the other has champion.
Dick: Alan's not one to back down from a challenge, but we saw Cheesecake getting into his head this past week on Go Time, and we'll see if that's enough to dethrone Mayse.
MECCA Toughman Championship: Alan Mayse vs. Cheesecake
Referee: David Bowers
(FINISH: Cheesecake goes for the Long Kiss Goodnight, but Alan counters into a wristlock and pulls Cheesecake in. He goes for the Tiger Bomb, but Cheesecake manages a backdrop. Cheesecake tries a clothesline, but Alan manages to counter into a swinging neckbreaker. He goes to the outside and prepares for the springboard dropkick. Cheesecake ducks, but Alan lands on his feet and hits the Tiger Bomb for the three count.)
Winner: Alan Mayse
David: Alan Mayse faked out Cheesecake and went right for the Tiger Bomb without any setup to score the pin! But let's see how Cheesecake's going to take this loss.
Dick: Mayse shows his seasoning as a competitor, and it paid off with at least one more night as Toughman Champion.
(Cheesecake is pissed that he lost, but he grudgingly gets up. Alan offers his hand, and Cheesecake shakes it. Huh then gets in the ring and offers his hand as well. Alan shakes it, but that allows Cheesecake to get behind Alan and hit a low blow. Alan falls to the mat as Cheesecake exits the ring.)
David: What the hell was that!? Cheesecake just shook the man's hand and then hit him below the belt!
Dick: I don't know what's up with Cheesecake, but he's sore at losing this title opportunity, that I can understand.
(Huh gets out of the ring, asking Cheesecake why he would do a thing like that. Cheesecake brushes him off and storms up the aisle.)
David: It looks as if Huh was innocent of that ploy, because he can't believe what happened either. When we come back, we'll have a number one contender's Triangle Match for the Ladies' Title. Stay with us!
(Huh helps Alan up and apologizes to him.)
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "TKO" hits and Zoe Alexander makes her way to the ring.)
David: We're back here at the second annual Liberty or Death, and we've got an important match in the Ladies' division here as Zoe Alexander looks to capitalize on her recent success by earning a title shot.
Dick: Zoe has utilized a number of moves out of the fireman's carry position that has allowed her to take her opponents off guard recently, because they don't know what's coming. It will be interesting to see how she fares here.
("Take It Off" hits and Kelly Schweickart makes her way to the ring.)
David: The peppy former cheerleader Kelly Schweickart is also set to make her mark. She's been here since almost the beginning of MECCA, but that Ladies' Title has eluded her.
Dick: She was fairly inexperienced when she started, so that's understandable, but now Kelly's good enough that she should be making her mark real soon.
("Brackish" hits and Gail Kim makes her way to the ring.)
David: Gail Kim was the longest reigning Ladies' Champion in MECCA history, though her reign was extended through several shady tactics. She's looking to earn her rematch against LuFisto here.
Dick: Gail made a mistake last month and tried to play into LuFisto's hardcore game. There's a reason why she's called the Sensation of Submission, as that is her greatest strength and she should utilize that to be successful.
Triangle Match: Gail Kim vs. Kelly Schweickart vs. Zoe Alexander
Referee: Rya Zeh
(FINISH: Gail applies the Christo on Zoe, but Kelly bounces off the ropes and gives Zoe a dropkick, forcing her to drop Gail in a modified Samoan drop. She gives Zoe a hardway suplex and then goes to the top rope. She tries the Kelly Cyclone, but Gail pulls Zoe out of the way. Kelly crashes to the mat, and Gail whips Zoe into the ropes. Zoe reverses, but Gail gets a flying headcissors into a swinging DDT. Zoe rolls out of the ring, and Gail applies a stretch muffler on Kelly. Kelly inches toward the ropes, but just before she gets there, Zoe manages to get back in the ring and stumble into Zeh. As Zeh untangles herself, Kelly grabs the bottom rope, but Gail pulls her arm off with her foot and holds it away. Finally, Kelly has to tap out and Zeh sees it and calls for the bell.)
Winner: Gail Kim
David: What a bad break for Kelly, as she had the bottom rope, but Zoe stumbled into the ref while trying to regain her bearings, and Kim was able to hook her arm. She had no choice but to tap after that.
Dick: Now Gail Kim gets a guaranteed Ladies' Title shot, and she's definitely pleased at being able to face LuFisto once again.
David: More action here at Liberty or Death, but first we have to take a quick commercial break.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Did My Time" hits and Ronin Fox and Cynric make their way to the ring.)
David: It's time for some tag team action, as Cynric and Fox continue their quest to get a rematch for the tag titles.
Dick: Whether that's the Pyro Twins or Stage One after tonight, Fox and Cynric get their shot as long as they win this match.
("The Immigrant Song" hits and the Concession Dream Team make their way to the ring, along with Medea Knight.)
David: This past week on Go Time saw the upset of the year, as Dreamo managed to pin Ronin Fox in the middle of the ring. Fox was not too happy about that, even though it was thanks to Cynric's botched interference.
Dick: The brothers have vowed to destroy the CDT here tonight, and their anger could help or hurt them.
The Concession Dream Team vs. Ronin Fox and Cynric
Referee: Matt Hitchcock
(FINISH: The CDT go for the Nocturnal Emission on Cynric, but Fox pulls Cynric down and gives Dreamo a spinning heel kick. He elbows CB in the back of the head, and he drops to one knee to take the Lift Off from Cynric. Cynric then distracts Hitchcock as Fox gives Concession Boy a curb stomp right into Dreamo's groin. Dreamo writhes in pain, and Cynric puts him on his shoulders. Fox goes to the top rope and hits the Dead End, covering Dreamo for the three count.)
Winners: Ronin Fox and Cynric
David: Fox and Cynric get the win with authority, and maybe now they can finally put this issue to rest and concentrate on their career goal at the moment, the MECCA Tag Team Titles.
Dick: I can't think of a team more likely to be tag champs by the end of the year.
David: When we come back, we'll have a title match of a different kind, as LuFisto makes her first Ladies' Title defense against Lisa Letty!
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Edge of Seventeen" hits and Lisa Letty makes her way to the ring.)
David: Lisa Letty was the one female above all others who really built the ladies' division here in MECCA, and she has not held the title since November of last year. She's been distracted in recent months, but she's now looking to reclaim her status as top female.
Dick: That's the reason she was called the First Lady of MECCA, as she really did build the ladies' division, but the competition is stronger than it's ever been right now.
("Sold Me" hits and LuFisto makes her way to the ring.)
David: LuFisto was Lisa Letty's trainer when she was breaking into the business, back at the FPPVW training camp, and they had quite a rivalry when MECCA started, but recently LuFisto was able to apologize for her actions, and granted Lisa the first shot at her newly won title.
Dick: What's interesting about that is that LuFisto has never been able to beat Lisa, her own student, here in MECCA. This is a great opportunity to exorcise those ghosts, and a great opportunity for Lisa to become the first three-time champion not just in the ladies' division, but in MECCA.
MECCA Ladies' Championship: LuFisto vs. Lisa Letty
Referee: Nikki Alvarado
(FINISH: Lisa whips LuFisto into the ropes, but LuFisto reverses and gives Lisa a hard lariat. She lifts her into a firewoman's carry and goes for the LuFisto Launcher, but Lisa counters into an ace crusher. She goes to the top rope and hits the Letty Press, but LuFisto kicks out at two. Lisa tries to apply the Letty Stretch, but LuFisto won't let her arms get hooked. She works her way to her feet, and Lisa finally manages to hook her arms. LuFisto takes her over in a modified northern lights suplex, getting a two count. She bounces off the ropes and nails Lisa with a flying kick, and then hits a Michinoku Driver. She covers and gets the three count.)
Winner: LuFisto
David: LuFisto has finally beaten her student here in MECCA, and she will continue on as Ladies' Champion!
Dick: She has fallen to the Letty Stretch in the past, and came up with the perfect counter to it. We have a dominant champion in LuFisto, but she now has Gail Kim waiting in the wings for her rematch.
(Lisa and LuFisto shake hands and embrace, but as LuFisto exits the ring, Trent Acid enters from the crowd. He accosts Lisa, but she rebuffs him once again, and tries to smack him. Trent grabs her hand and smirks, but Nykk runs down to the ring and slides in. He tackles Acid, hitting him with rights. Lisa calls for the bell to start their match.)
Nykk vs. Trent Acid
Referee: Lisa Letty
David: It looks like Lisa isn't going to waste any time in starting this match, as Nykk is pounding Acid into the mat. We'll be right back!
(Commercial Break)
(FINISH: Nykk goes for Howling Moon II, but Acid escapes and pushes Nykk into Lisa, bowling her over. Nykk checks on Lisa, but gets a low blow from Acid, followed by the Yakuza Kick. Acid covers, but Lisa is still trying to regain her bearings. Acid goes outside the ring and pulls a steel pipe from under the ring. He tries to take Nykk out with it, but Nykk ducks a shot and kicks Acid, forcing him to drop the pipe. Nykk hits a tiger slam, and tries to lock in the Cedarleaf, but Acid manages to kick him back into the corner. Acid gets up, but Lisa is also up, and she has the pipe in her hand. She asks Acid what the hell this is all about, and Acid argues his case. They exchange words as Nykk comes over to stand behind Acid. Finally, Acid grabs Lisa's face and kisses her on the mouth. Nykk lunges for him at the same time that Lisa pulls away and swings the pipe. Acid ducks, and she nails Nykk right in the head. She drops the pipe in dismay, but Acid laughs and crawls over to cover. He tells Lisa to count, and she grudgingly makes the three count.)
Winner: Trent Acid
David: Once again, Acid has gotten one over on Nykk thanks to that damn pipe!
Dick: But it was Lisa Letty who was swinging it this time.
David: Lisa didn't mean to hit Nykk, she was aiming for Acid, but she lost her cool for a moment, and you can't let that happen when you're the referee.
(Officials come down to check on Nykk as he slowly regains consciousness. Acid leaves the ring, strutting up the aisle, and Lisa hugs Nykk close, telling him she's sorry.)
David: Lisa is heartbroken about this, and I can't blame her. Hopefully Nykk will be okay, but we have to take a commercial break. The MECCA Tag Team Championship will be on the line when we return.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "Still More Fighting" hits and Stage One make their way to the ring, along with David Caldwell.)
David: We've got a tag title match on our hands here, on a night where Alan Mayse has retained the Toughman Title, and LuFisto retained her Ladies' Title. Will we see Ryan Saito and Jamie Chan take the tag belts?
Dick: They have been impressive since debuting here in MECCA, and David Caldwell has been instrumental in their success, as well as getting them this title shot.
("Burning Times" hits and the Pyro Twins make their way to the ring.)
David: Jay Crowe and Dusty Schneble have been dominant tag team champions, turning back every challenge that's come their way, with the exception of an unclean DQ win over Ronin Fox and Cynric. But if they can get past Stage One tonight, they will be more than glad to correct that in the future.
Dick: The Pyro Twins have also been having great matches all year long. It's as if the belts have given them that extra confidence, and they've been damn near unbeatable.
MECCA Tag Team Championship: The Pyro Twins vs. Stage One
Referee: Keith Young
(FINISH: Stage One goes for Stage Completed on Jay, but Jay manages to turn it into a double STO of his own. He picks up Saito and goes for the Overhaul, but gets met with a spinning heel kick from Chan. Dusty jumps off the second rope for a double axehandle, but he gets the spinning heel kick as well. Saito lifts Jay into a fireman's carry for Go to Sleep, just as Dusty manages to give Chan the Rope Burn I. Saito throws Jay up into the air, but Dusty sweeps the legs as Jay shifts and comes down with a back heel kick for Final Darkness. Jay covers and gets the three count.)
Winners: The Pyro Twins
David: The Pyro Twins have proven time and time again that they can hit that devastating Final Darkness out of just about any position in the ring, and tonight Stage One has learned that lesson the hard way.
Dick: Even more success for the Pyro Twins, and now they will go on to face Fox and Cynric sometime in the future.
(Caldwell throws a tantrum at ringside, taking off his leather jacket and throwing it to the ground, then getting mad because his coat's dirty. The Pyro Twins taunt him with the belts as he leaves with Stage One.)
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Eddie Crowe and Low Ki.)
Bill: What a night we've had here at Liberty or Death, but the main event is yet to come. Eddie, Low Ki, tonight you take on the MECCA Monster Kevin Stone and the American Dragon Bryan Danielson, who will be coming after your title, Eddie, in just one month. But at first it seemed as if you two were not on the same page, but Low Ki, a couple of weeks ago you came to Eddie's aid. Is all the water under the bridge as far as you two go?
Low Ki: Bill, I came here to be Eddie's partner for one reason and one reason only. Respect. It's something that you showed me, Eddie, when we clashed at Punked Out. And I realized the one piece that was missing from the puzzle of Low Ki's MECCA career was in fact the fans. Eddie is their hero, and I could not disappoint them by turning my back on him, regardless of my personal feelings. And when we win this dream partner match, then I can pursue my rematch and meet this man on equal footing.
Eddie: That's right, Ki, I showed you respect, and you showed it right back to me by coming to my aid and willingly being my partner. I chose you because you're the toughest man I've ever had to face, and that includes the so-called MECCA Monster. Stone, I know you like to style yourself as the biggest bad ass in MECCA, but I've got news for you... the biggest bad ass in MECCA is standing right next to me. And Danielson, we will meet on pay-per-view at Summertime Showdown, but even if you beat us tonight, this is the closest you'll ever get to my title. While I may respect you as a wrestler, I don't respect you for the way you treat people, including our great fans. At Summertime Showdown, I'll prove to be the better wrestler, but for tonight, I'm going to teach you some humility.
(Commercial Break)
(In the arena, "The Final Countdown" hits and Bryan Danielson and Kevin Stone make their way to the ring.)
David: It's time for our main event, a dream partner tag match, and it was a few weeks ago that Bryan Danielson chose the MECCA Monster as his partner for this one.
Dick: They've proven to be an effective combination since then, and Danielson's star is definitely rising as he won the Six Man Apocalypse, and earned his shot at the MECCA World Championship next month.
("Noots" hits and Eddie Crowe and Low Ki make their way to the ring.)
David: Eddie Crowe and Low Ki had one of the hardest fought matches I've ever seen back at Punked Out, and both men did shake hands at the end of that one. But when Eddie chose Low Ki as his partner, Low Ki didn't want it at first. But in the end, he realized he really did respect Eddie.
Dick: He also seems to enjoy this new found adulation from the fans, for some reason. But I have to admit, perhaps the only guy that could rival Kevin Stone in toughness is Low Ki.
Dream Partner Tag Match: Eddie Crowe and Low Ki vs. Bryan Danielson and Kevin Stone
Referee: David Bowers
(FINISH: Eddie hits the Eddie Dive on Danielson and covers, but Stone breaks it up. He throws Eddie out of the ring, and Ki comes in. Stone takes off his belt and offers the other end to Low Ki. Ki wraps it around his hand, and tells Stone to strike the first blow. Stone hits Ki with a hard right. Ki answers with another right. Stone retaliates with a headbutt. Ki responds to that with a chop. This goes on for about ten more shots, and finally Low Ki gives Stone a kick to the face and Stone lets go of the belt, backing up against the ropes. Ki clotheslines him to the floor, but Danielson comes in from behind with a forearm to Ki. However, Eddie gets in the ring behind him and lifts him for a back suplex, dropping him across the knee for a backbreaker. He holds Danielson in place as Ki goes up top. He hits the double stomp on Danielson, and Eddie covers. However, Stone reaches into the ring and pulls Eddie off by the ears. He drags him outside and throws him hard into the guardrail. He gets on the apron, but Low Ki hits him with a charging rolling koppo kick, and Stone sails backwards into the guardrail. Danielson grabs Ki's arms from behind and forces him down into Cattle Mutilation, but Bowers tells him that Ki's not legal. Danielson lets go, and Eddie springboards in. Danielson catches him with a dropkick, and then Stone gets back in the ring. They give Eddie the Regalplex/clothesline combo, and then Danielson applies Cattle Mutilation. Low Ki tries to break it up, but Stone catches him around the waist and drives him into the corner. Ki hammers on Stone, but he doesn't let go. Finally, Eddie taps out.)
Winners: Bryan Danielson and Kevin Stone
David: The American Dragon just made the MECCA World Champion tap out! You know what this means? This means Bryan Danielson has just become a threat to the champ's reign!
Dick: What a match that was, as Ki matched Stone toughness for toughness, strike for strike, but in the end Bryan Danielson gets a big psychological advantage, as he's shown that he can beat Eddie Crowe.
David: We'll see you all on Go Time this Wednesday, ladies and gentlemen. And we urge you to join us on pay-per-view on August 26 for Summertime Showdown!
(Eddie and Ki limp to the back as Danielson holds up a finger, proclaiming himself number one. He then proclaims all the fans number one by holding up his middle finger.)
