(The fans are filing into the Hara Arena, as "Both Eyes Closed" by Soul Casket plays. Ring Announcer Jared Schrunk is standing in the ring.)
Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, at this time, allow me to introduce the voices of MECCA... David Mills and Dick Broccoli!
(David Mills and Dick Broccoli make their way to the ring, carrying microphones.)
David: Hello, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the Hara Arena! Welcome to the night where we will crown the first MECCA Champion... welcome to the MECCA Challenge! We have a great show tonight, brought to you by the Midwestern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts. Are you ready for the MECCA Challenge with Nykk vs. C.M. Punk for the MECCA Championship? We will not only crown the MECCA Heavyweight Champion, but also the MECCA Tag Team Champions!
Dick: Finally, the International Invitational comes to a close tonight. Representing the United States will be the rather odd tandem of Spanky and Delirious, members of the Eccentric Alliance, but also known as Reckless Abandon. And representing the UK, a team that has been unstoppable thus far here in MECCA. Their opponents are the UK Wrecking Crew, Andy Nathans and Jack Fletcher!
David: This is the culmination of a lot of hard work for these two teams. Let's show you their journey through the International Invitational.
(Video package of the International Invitational, which shows Reckless Abandon losing in the first round as the UK Wrecking Crew go straight through the upper brackets. It then focuses on Reckless Abandon's climb out of the lower brackets.)
(Back in the ring, David Mills and Dick Broccoli have are now standing in the middle.)
David: Not only will the winners of this match be the MECCA Tag Team Champions, but will also be presented with the International Invitational World Cup this Tuesday on Go Time.
Dick: But that's not the only title on the line tonight. If you recall, the very first title here in MECCA was awarded to Lisa Letty on the very first Go Time back on January 4. Ever since then, Lisa's former trainer and friend, LuFisto, has been after the Ladies' Title, going so far as to form a group called the Dangerous Liaison with Gail Kim.
David: And though she failed to take the title at Bloody Valentine, she's asked for a rematch, this time under hardcore rules. Right now, Bill Bicknell is standing by with the challenger.
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with LuFisto.)
Bill: LuFisto, tonight could be the night you accomplish your goal of winning the Ladies' Title. You've come close on a couple of occasions, but tonight the match will be under hardcore rules, which definitely favors you.
LuFisto: Bill, I never asked for much. Only to be the best. When I wasn't getting my due in RCW, I left, and once again I find myself being disappointed here in MECCA. But not after tonight. Lisa, you've showed me something by hanging onto that belt, not only by beating me, but by beating the "Sensation of Submission" Gail Kim last month at Melee. You are a tough competitor, and I underestimated you. I won't make that mistake again. Tonight, the First Lady of Hardcore will show you exactly why my former nickname was Bloody Lucy. That belt you carry will fall under the control of the Dangerous Liaison, and I will take this ladies' division and make something special out of it. And when you're lying in a bloody heap, Lisa Letty, just remember that the student never outmatches the teacher.
(In the arena, where David Mills and Dick Broccoli are in the broadcast booth.)
David: We're just a few minutes away from the MECCA Challenge, live on pay-per-view, and the challenger for the Ladies' Title seems ready.
Dick: LuFisto's always ready, and she looks like she has a different game plan this time.
David: But of course, that's not the only exciting match you'll see here tonight. In addition to that and the International Invitational finals, we'll see the Eccentrics try once again to get revenge on KDX and David Caldwell. Caldwell has been a thorn in the sides of Huh and Cheesecake since January 4, and then in the first round of the International Invitational, KDX beat the Eccentrics. Tonight, they try to return the favor.
Dick: It's also a different KDX, with Kaz Hayashi replacing an injured Men's Teioh, but the Eccentrics don't care one bit about that. Also, there will be a six-man tag tonight involving C.M. Punk's stable of SELF: the Straight Edge Lifestyle Foundation.
David: Yes, since Eddie Crowe would not take on Cynric one on one, Cynric invited him to bring the Pyro Twins and he'd bring two partners of his own. Those partners turned out to be his tag team partner from RCW, Kevin Stone, and high-flyer the Amazing Red. And as we found out this past Tuesday on Go Time, Ronin Fox's replacement for his match against Low Ki will be none other than Alan Mayse.
Dick: Alan Mayse stepped up to help MECCA despite his commitments to RCW, but if he beats Low Ki right here tonight, he could be in line for a title shot against Nykk or Punk.
("Brackish" hits and Gail Kim makes her way to the ring.)
David: Here we go with our warm-up match. It's Four Corner Chaos, with the winner getting a shot at the Ladies' Champion at our next event, Punked Out.
Dick: Gail Kim would certainly love another shot at the title, but if she and LuFisto were to both win tonight, that could put strain on the Dangerous Liaison.
("Take It Off" hits and Kelly Schweickart makes her way to the ring.)
David: Here comes the ultra-peppy former cheerleader, Kelly Schweickart. Still a rookie, she's been showing a lot of promise, and seems to have improved her game since hanging out with Shadow and Lisa Letty.
Dick: It's a nice contrast to see someone so revved up to be out here in the ladies' division. We've got the quiet dignity of the Ladies' Champion, the spitfire Shadow, and the bad asses in the Dangerous Liaison, but none of them are as enthused as Kelly.
("My Friend of Misery" hits and Misery makes her way to the ring.)
David: I still can't figure out this enigma. Misery seems she needs psychological treatment. She claims to be on the up-and-up, yet cheats during her matches. She tries to make friends with people, and then gets angry when they blow her off for being such an insufferable wench.
Dick: Well, she teamed up with the Dangerous Liaison this past Tuesday. Is she a member, or was it just a relationship of convenience?
("Faint" hits and Shadow makes her way to the ring.)
David: This young lady takes this business very seriously, and she's ready to try and take the top spot in MECCA's ladies' division.
Dick: Shadow would love to go to Punked Out and face the Ladies' Champion, whether it's Lisa Letty or LuFisto.
(FINISH: Misery tags Gail, and they whip Kelly into the ropes. They go for a double back body drop, but Kelly counters with a double DDT. Kelly goes up top and hits the Kelly Cyclone, covering Gail as Shadow tackles Misery. Referee Rya Zay tells her that the pin doesn't count since the double team move didn't go through. Kelly goes over to Shadow, who's hammering on Misery. She attempts to pull Shadow off, but Shadow spins and hits the Interceptor. Kim charges Shadow and gets a flying headscissors, segueing into the Christo. Misery gets up and pushes them both out through the ropes. She then goes over to Kelly, who is starting to get up and applies the Friendship Bracelet. Kelly taps out.)
Winner: Misery
David: Misery sneaked in the win there after Shadow accidentally nailed Kelly with the Interceptor.
Dick: How do you know it was an accident? There are no friends in Four Corner Chaos.
David: Misery is going to Punked Out, and certainly C.M. Punk would love to go into an event with that name as MECCA Champion. Tonight, in the main event, it's a culmination of the Round Robin. Both Nykk and Punk are tied at 2-1, and tonight we'll see the first MECCA Challenge.
(Video package of Nykk and Punk to end the countdown show.)
("Both Eyes Closed" hits and the MECCA Challenge logo comes up.)
(In the arena, a small pyro display goes off.)
David: Welcome to the Hara Arena, in Dayton, Ohio! It's a historic night here in MECCA as we crown our first heavyweight champion, plus our tag team champions. Over 3500 fans are in attendance here tonight, and we thank each and every one of them for their support, and each and every one of you for joining us on pay-per-view. I'm David Mills, along with Dick Broccoli.
Dick: So many potentially great matches here tonight. Nykk vs. Punk in a MECCA Challenge, Reckless Abandon vs. The UK Wrecking Crew, Mayse vs. Low Ki...
David: Don't forget Letty vs. LuFisto for the Ladies' Title. We're ready to kick things off here at the MECCA Challenge! Let's go to ring announcer Jared Schrunk.
Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our special musical guests here tonight. Performing the MECCA Challenge theme, "Both Eyes Closed," I'm proud to introduce... Soul Casket!
(Up on the stage, Soul Casket performs "Both Eyes Closed." They get an ovation from the crowd when they're finished.)
David: Soul Casket is an independent band from Cincinnati, Ohio, and we're certainly excited to have them here tonight. For more information, go to www.soulcasket.com.
("The Leaving Song Part II" hits and Eddie Crowe and the Pyro Twins make their way to the ring. Eddie makes a lunge at Soul Casket, faking them out. The band members seem as though they wouldn't mind retaliating, but security gets in between them.)
David: Look at Eddie Crowe. What a piece of work this guy is. He's bought into all that garbage C.M. Punk spews, alienating his former friends, and forcing his brother and best friend to follow along with him just to make sure he doesn't destroy himself.
Dick: Why did he go after Soul Casket?
David: Well, Soul Casket is responsible for Nykk's entrance theme. Perhaps they reminded him of Nykk.
("Soul Creation" hits and Cynric, Kevin Stone and the Amazing Red make their way to the ring.)
David: This should be an interesting match. You've got the brawlers, Kevin Stone and Dusty Schneble, the martial artist Cynric, the grappler Jay Crowe, the technician Eddie Crowe, and the high-flying Amazing Red.
Dick: A mix of styles, to be sure, but I have to give the edge to SELF for being an actual cohesive unit.
David: This all started between Cynric and Eddie Crowe, but Cynric kept getting jumped by the Pyro Twins. So Cynric just told Eddie to go ahead and bring them to the MECCA Challenge, and he'd bring his own team.
Cynric, Kevin Stone and the Amazing Red vs. SELF
Referee: Keith Young
(The bell rings, and Cynric starts off with Eddie. They circle and lock up, but Eddie shoves Cynric away and slaps him. Cynric goes after Eddie, who runs to his corner and the ropes. Referee Keith Young makes Cynric let go of Eddie, and Eddie tags out to Dusty. Dusty comes in and slaps Cynric across the other cheek. Cynric retaliates with a roundhouse kick to Dusty's head, sending him down. Cynric whips him into the ropes and hits a spinning back kick. Dusty doubles over and Cynric spins, sweeping the legs. He hits a somersault senton splash. He kicks Dusty as he gets to his knees and bounces off the ropes, hitting a rolling koppo kick. Jay comes in and also gets a rolling koppo kick. Cynric whips him into the corner, and then whips Dusty into him. They stagger out, and Kevin gets in the ring, crouching behind Dusty. Cynric dropkicks Jay from behind, who sails into Dusty, sending them both toppling over Kevin's back. Kevin gets out of the ring only to be tagged back in by Cynric. They whip Dusty into the ropes and Kevin catches him in his arms. He crouches down and Cynric bounces off the ropes, hitting a spinning heel kick version of the Hart Attack. Kevin covers and gets a two count. He throws Dusty into the corner and gives him several knees to the midsection, followed by some forearms. He whips Dusty to the opposite corner and hits a back body drop. Kevin whips Dusty into the ropes and Jay makes a blind tag. Kevin puts his head down, and Dusty kicks him. He and Jay give Kevin a double gourdbuster and then hit the Compactor. Jay covers Kevin, but only gets a one count. Jay gives Kevin some forearms and whips him into the ropes. Kevin reverses, but Jay stops himself and flips Kevin off. Kevin charges him, and Jay drops down. He tries a leapfrog on the rebound, but Kevin spears him out of midair. Kevin tags the Amazing Red and Red goes up top. He steps onto Kevin's shoulders and then comes off with a flying bodypress on Jay, getting a two count. He bounces off the ropes and gives Jay a flying headscissors, segueing into an armdrag. He goes for the Code Red, but Jay plants him with a Gory Bomb variation. He tags Eddie and whips Red into the ropes. He gives Red a back body drop, but Red catches Eddie with a hurricanrana on the way down. He tags Kevin, who mows Eddie down with a clothesline. He grabs Eddie and tags Cynric, but Eddie gets away and lunges for his own corner, tagging Jay back in. Jay charges Cynric and gets an armdrag. Cynric gives Jay a backbreaker and tags Red back in. Red goes up top and hits a missile dropkick on Jay and covers for a two count. He whips Jay into the ropes, but Jay reverses and Eddie clips Red from behind. Jay executes a belly-to-belly suplex and tags Eddie back in. Eddie stomps on Red's head and gives him a northern lights suplex for a two count. He applies an armwringer into fireman's carry, and then drops him into a backbreaker. He covers and gets another two count. )
(He tags Dusty, who stomps away on Red and chokes him on the ropes. He hits a uranage suplex and then runs his hands through his hair, flicking sweat at Cynric and Kevin. They try to come in, distracting the ref. Dusty picks Red up for a powerbomb, and Jay comes in, wrapping his arm around Red's neck. Eddie goes to the top rope and comes off with a double stomp to Red's midsection. Then Jay and Dusty drop to their knees, spiking Red's neck and back. They then stand up and Dusty spins Red off to the side, into a flatliner from Jay. Dusty hooks the leg and gets a close two count. He backs the ref into the corner and argues with him, allowing Eddie to come in and hit a running elbow drop. Dusty tags Jay and picks Red up in a fireman's carry. Jay kneels, and Dusty gives him a fireman's carry slam, with Red's head hitting Jay's knee. Jay applies the triangle choke, and Red starts to fade. However, he manages to get a foot on the ropes, and Young makes Jay break the hold. Jay whips Red into the ropes and lifts him, but Red counters with a dropkick. They crawl toward their corners, but Dusty and Eddie come in and clothesline Cynric and Stone off the apron. They throw Red back into their corner and exit the ring. Jay tags Eddie, who bounces off the ropes and hits Red with a stiff elbow to the face. He applies a Cobra Clutch into a Russian Legsweep, then tries to segue over into the Crowe's Nest. Red kicks him in the face and Eddie releases the hold. However, Eddie gets up and kicks Red in the back. He whips him into the ropes, going for the Gutwrench Driver, but Red flips to his feet and takes Eddie over in a hurricanrana. Both men crawl toward their corners, but suddenly Red somersaults over Eddie and gives Jay and Dusty a double dropkick, sending them off the apron. He slides under Eddie's legs and tags Cynric in. Eddie lunges for his corner but finds no one to tag. Cynric charges and smashes Eddie into the corner with a jumping spin kick. He hits Eddie with several martial arts strikes and kicks and whips him into the ropes. He gives him a Japanese Armdrag, and holds onto the arm, rolling them both to their feet and hitting a DDT. He sets up for the Lift Off, but Jay intercepts him with a clothesline. Kevin comes in and gives Jay a big boot. Dusty runs in, but Kevin catches him with a spinning chokeslam. He poses for the crowd and then whips Jay into the ropes. He lifts him in a military press, and drops him to his shoulders in preparation for a powerslam, but Dusty clips the knee. They drag Kevin outside the ring and fight with him. Eddie tries to clothesline Cynric, but Cynric ducks and grabs Eddie's head, propelling his knee upward into Eddie's face in a Lift Off variation as the Pyro Twins send Kevin into the ring post. Cynric tags Red, who goes to the top rope and hits the Infrared. He follows up with the Red Star Press for the cover, but Dusty drags the ref out of the ring. Cynric goes over and hits a pescado onto both Pyro Twins. In the ring, Red goes for the Code Red, but Eddie rolls through and grabs Red's foot, pulling him back to his feet and hitting the Gutwrench Driver. He drops on top of Red and gets the three count.)
Winners: SELF
David: I don't believe it. SELF just stole this match after Dusty dragged Keith Young outside after Eddie took both the Lift Off and the Infrared.
Dick: But Eddie showed how much endurance he has by coming back and planting Red on his head with that Gutwrench Driver and gaining the pinfall.
David: No matter what we say about Eddie, he is going to be a superstar here in MECCA. We also saw some glimpses of great triple team offense with him and the Pyro Twins. Punk chose well when he recruited these three.
(Cynric and Kevin check on Red as the Pyro Twins and Eddie help each other to the back.)
David: Well, up next we have the finals of the International Invitational.
(They show the brackets.)
Dick: As you can see, the UK Wrecking Crew won the upper brackets, and have not yet been defeated. Delirious and Spanky suffered a first round loss to the Pyro Twins, but came back and ended up beating them in the finals of the lower brackets to earn this match with Andy Nathans and Jack Fletcher.
("Ironman" hits and the UK Wrecking Crew make their way to the ring.)
David: The UK Wrecking Crew came out of nowhere to become one of the top tag teams in MECCA. They were born and raised in London, England, and plan to make it big here in the US.
Dick: Their goal is to be the top tag team in wrestling, and a good start would be becoming the first MECCA Tag Team Champions.
("Can't Stop" hits and Reckless Abandon make their way to the ring. Delirious is waving an American flag wildly and Spanky is wearing an American flag-style jacket.)
David: He's tweakin' out! Delirious and Spanky are members of the Eccentric Alliance, and want to bring the belts and the World Cup home to the US.
Dick: These two are so strange that they just might pull off a win here. The UK Wrecking Crew hasn't yet been exposed to the strangeness of an Eccentric.
David: Let's send it up to Jared Schrunk for the introductions.
Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, the following tag team contest, scheduled for one fall, is the finals of the International Invitational! Not only will the winners of this match be given the distinction of first MECCA Tag Team Champions, but also be presented with the International Invitational World Cup this Tuesday on Go Time! In the corner to my right... they represent the United Kingdom... they are the winners of the upper brackets, with victories over Fugitivos Locos, Katsushi Takemura and Keiji Sakota, and the Pyro Twins... at a combined weight of 430 lbs... Jack Fletcher and Andy Nathans, the UK Wrecking Crew!
(The UK Wrecking Crew poses.)
Jared: And in the corner to my left... they represent the United States of America... they are the winners of the lower brackets, after losing their first round match, with wins over the Eccentrics, Kaientai Deluxe, Katsushi Takemura and Keiji Sakota and the Pyro Twins... at a combined weight of 365 lbs... Spanky and Delirious, Reckless Abandon!
International Invitational Finals: Reckless Abandon vs. The UK Wrecking Crew
Referee: David Bowers
(The bell rings, and Spanky and Nathans start off. Nathans tries to get the fans to chant "UK!" Spanky retaliates by leading the crowd in a Hacksaw-esque "USA!" chant, followed by Duggan's trademark pre-match stomping ritual. He circles Nathans and then locks up with him. He gets an armwringer and lays in some forearms to the elbow. He backs Nathans into the ropes and whips him to the far side. Nathans reverses and tries a clothesline, but Spanky ducks and nails one of his own. He sends Nathans down with another one and gives the crowd a big "HOOOO!" and leads them in another "USA!" chant. Fletcher comes in and nails Spanky from behind with a forearm He gets out again, and Nathans makes the tag. They whip Spanky into the ropes, but he slides under them and nails them with a double leg lariat, staggering them. He dropkicks Nathans out of the ring and tags Delirious. Delirious slingshots in and rolls, coming up on all fours. Fletcher doesn't know what's happening and scurries to get out of the way, and Delirious chases him across the ring on all fours. Fletcher tries to go through the ropes, but Delirious bites him in the leg. Fletcher screams in pain, and referee David Bowers makes Delirious release him. Delirious stands up, and Fletcher gets back in the ring, shoving him. Delirious kicks him and then bounces off the ropes, executing a flying headscissors takeover. Delirious gives him a drop toehold and tags in Spanky. Spanky gives Fletcher a kneedrop to the back of the head, and applies an armbar. Fletcher backs him to the ropes and tags Nathans. They whip Spanky into the ropes, but he slides out of the ring. The UK Wrecking Crew goes for a double baseball slide, but Spanky dives back into the ring. However, Fletcher and Nathans grab him by the ankles and pull him back out, ramming him back first into the guardrail. They give each other a high five, but Delirious comes off the top rope with a plancha, taking them both down. Spanky throws Nathans back into the ring Delirious gets back on the apron, and Spanky tags him. Spanky gathers Nathans in his arms, and Delirious bounces off the ropes, and they deliver the Hart Attack. Delirious covers and gets a two count when Fletcher breaks it up. He tries to whip Spanky into the ropes, but Spanky counters with an armwringer and pulls him in, going for Sliced Bread #2. Fletcher throws Spanky off, but Spanky lands on his feet by Delirious. He grabs Delirious's head, and they give Fletcher a Bushwhacker Battering Ram. Fletcher and Nathans roll out of the ring, and Reckless Abandon does the Bushwhacker walk around the ring, complete with their ropes pose. Fletcher and Nathans fire each other up and then go back into the ring. Spanky and Delirious nail Nathans with a Rock 'n Roll Express double dropkick, but Fletcher whips Spanky into the corner and charges. Spanky moves and sweeps the legs of Fletcher as he crashes into the corner. Delirious gives him the Panic Attack, and Spanky gives Nathans a back suplex. Reckless Abandon goes to the top rope for a Rockers double fistdrop, but Fletcher shakes the ropes and crotches Delirious. Spanky goes for the fistdrop anyway, but Nathans gets a foot up. Nathans tags Fletcher and they give Delirious a Demolition Decapitation. Fletcher covers and gets a two count.)
David: Reckless Abandon were baffling the UK Wrecking Crew moments ago with their tribute to classic tag teams, but the Crew has turned it around with a tribute of their own!
Dick: Fletcher and Nathans seemed perplexed by the odd tandem in front of them, but now they've got control of the situation. Stay on them, guys, and don't let them confuse you again.
(Fletcher headbutts Delirious and whips him into the ropes, hitting a reverse elbow. He gives him a snap suplex and follows up with a falling headbutt. He covers and gets another two count. He tags Nathans, and raises Delirious by the arms, holding him horizontal. Nathans charges him and flips him out of the hold with a reverse swinging neckbreaker. He then picks Delirious up in a fireman's carry and slams him over Fletcher's knee. With Delirious draped over his knee, Nathans bounces off the ropes and leaps into the air, delivering a legdrop. He covers and gets a close two count. He gives Delirious a butterfly suplex and rolls through, applying a headscissors while keeping the arms trapped. Delirious starts to fade, but Spanky leads the fans in some rhythmic clapping, and Delirious comes back to consciousness. He slowly makes his way to his feet, but can't dislodge Nathans. Finally, he starts spinning around in a modified airplane spin, and eventually Nathans gets so dizzy that he lets go. Delirious slams him to the mat and falls back to the canvas. Delirious crawls to the corner and tags Spanky. Nathans gets up, but is still dizzy and can't find his corner. He takes a swing at Spanky, who easily avoids it and grabs a headlock. Nathans pushes him off into the ropes and Spanky hits him with a flying forearm. He hits Nathans with right hands and bounces off the ropes, dropkicking the knee. He then takes him over with an Oklahoma Roll, and gets a two count. He goes for Sliced Bread #2, but accidentally goes to the Crew's corner. Fletcher holds Spanky's feet and tags himself in. The UK Wrecking Crew then launches Spanky halfway across the ring. Delirious comes in and hits Nathans and Fletcher with rights. He bounces off the ropes, but Fletcher throws him over the top rope and to the floor. Spanky tries charging him, but Fletcher moves and Spanky clotheslines himself across the top rope. Fletcher and Nathans hit a German Suplex/neckbreaker combo on Spanky. Fletcher covers and gets a two count. He knees Spanky in the face a couple of times and then gives him a hangman's neckbreaker. He holds Spanky and tags in Nathans, who goes to the top rope and delivers a double axehandle to Spanky's back. He whips Spanky into the ropes and hits a spinebuster, covering for a two count. He applies a front facelock, and Spanky begins to fade. Bowers drops his arm twice, but on the third time Spanky comes back. He gets to his feet and starts hitting Nathans in the midsection. He pushes him toward his own corner, but Fletcher comes in and distracts the ref. Spanky tags Delirious, who starts hitting Nathans, but Bowers didn't see the tag and forces Delirious off. Delirious goes nuts as Fletcher lifts Spanky's legs out of the front facelock and into a spike DDT from Nathans. He covers, but Delirious comes over and wildly scratches Nathans's back like a cat would. Bowers tells Delirious to go, and Fletcher comes in for another double team. They whip Spanky into the ropes, and put their heads down. Spanky kicks Fletcher in the face and goes for a hurricanrana on Nathans, twisting in midair into a victory roll. He has Nathans pinned, but the ref is busy trying to get Fletcher out of the ring. He turns around finally, but only gets a one count before Nathans kicks out. They get to their feet and Nathans hits a flapjack. He tags Fletcher, who slingshots in with a somersault legdrop. He covers and gets a two count. Fletcher goes over and nails Delirious with a right hand, prompting him into the ring. The ref holds him back and Nathans comes in. They pick up Spanky for a double back suplex, but Spanky kicks his legs wildly so he doesn't go up all the way. He then springboards backwards off the top rope and takes them both down with a double Sliced Bread #2. Too weak to cover, he crawls over and tags Delirious, who comes in and flies off the handle in jubilation. He dropkicks Nathans from the ring and bounces off the ropes, giving Fletcher a spinning heel kick. Fletcher gets up and swings, but Delirious ducks and hits an inverted atomic drop. He bounces off the ropes and takes Fletcher down with a swinging neckbreaker. He goes for the Chemical Imbalance #2, but Fletcher elbows him in the face. He whips Delirious into a corner, but Delirious reverses. Spanky tags back in and whips Delirious at him, who in turn reverses and whips Spanky into Fletcher for a corner clothesline. They give the Road Warriors' thumbs up signal for the Doomsday Device, but Nathans comes back in and attacks from behind with a forearm on Spanky. Delirious charges him, but gets a Saito Suplex. Nathans and Fletcher are pissed, and Fletcher tells Nathans to put Spanky on his shoulders. The UK Wrecking Crew goes for the Doomsday Device, and Fletcher goes to the top rope as Nathans balances Spanky. However, Delirious gets up and slingshots onto the top rope, taking Fletcher over with a headscissors as Spanky plants Nathans with a reverse hurricanrana. They do a double cover, and get a close two count. Spanky picks up Nathans, who rakes his eyes and clotheslines him as Delirious goes to the top rope. Nathans runs up the turnbuckles and gives Delirious London Bridge is Falling Down all the way to the floor. The ref goes outside to check on Delirious as Spanky backs Fletcher into a corner. He goes to the second rope and gives him ten punches, until Fletcher pushes him off. Spanky backflips to his feet and Fletcher whips him into the ropes, dropping down. When Spanky hits the opposite side, Nathans hooks his feet with one of the British flags, tripping Spanky. Nathans rolls back in and they quickly execute the Wrecking Ball. Fletcher covers Spanky and gets the three count.)
Winners: The UK Wrecking Crew
David: I don't believe it! Reckless Abandon just got screwed over by the UK Wrecking Crew!
Dick: What? Andy Nathans obviously thought that the match was over, and was coming into the ring to celebrate and happened to trip Spanky up.
David: A flag was not meant to be used to trip people.
("God Save the King" plays as the UK Wrecking Crew are presented with the MECCA tag belts. They hug and celebrate as a British flag is lowered to hang above the ring.)
David: Well, the International Invitational has come to a close, and it was dominated by the UK Wrecking Crew, who went straight through without ever losing.
Dick: They're undefeated in tag team competition thus far, and now that they're the champs, I can see them staying that way for a long time.
David: Reckless Abandon put up one hell of a fight, and they almost had them with that double pin, but the Wrecking Crew was just too resilient. Despite everything, however, congratulations to Andy Nathans and Jack Fletcher for becoming the first MECCA Tag Team Champions. Coming up next is a match originally meant to be Ronin Fox vs. Low Ki. However, due to Fox's broken leg that was ultimately aggravated by Low Ki, he'll be out of action for about eight months. With one of tonight's big matches in jeopardy, Katie Piehl introduced us to Fox's replacement this past Tuesday on Go Time.
(Clips of Alan Mayse being introduced on the 4/26 Go Time are shown.)
(In the arena, "Fighter's Passion" hits and Low Ki makes his way to the ring.)
David: Low Ki looks as intense as ever tonight. He certainly is always looking for a fight.
Dick: He's also pissed that Ronin Fox couldn't be here tonight.
David: Well, Fox broke his leg at a non-MECCA event a couple of weeks ago, and Low Ki had the gall to claim that it was just an excuse for Fox to look good while accepting his challenge, and at the same time getting out of this match.
("Seven Nation Army" hits and Alan Mayse makes his way to the ring.)
David: Alan pretty much came to our rescue tonight, as we needed someone to take Fox's place in one of our biggest matches.
Dick: Alan Mayse is a former three-time RCW Champion, and his last reign was over nine months long. He's only here for a handful of appearances, but if he wins tonight, he may want to stick around, as surely he would be in line for a title shot if he could beat Low Ki.
Alan Mayse vs. Low Ki
Referee: Keith Young
(The bell rings, and Alan offers to shake hands in good sportsmanship. Low Ki looks a bit surprised and shakes Alan's hand, but Alan suddenly applies an armwringer right into a short arm clothesline. He hits Low Ki with a succession of right hands and then whips him into the ropes. Low Ki reverses and tries a forward crescent kick, but Alan ducks and monkey flips Low Ki. He whips Ki into the corner and charges, hitting a dropkick. Low Ki staggers out of the corner, and Alan staggers him again with a hard forearm. He tags Ki with another forearm, but Low Ki still doesn't go down. Alan tries a spinning clothesline, but Low Ki ducks and hits a moonsault kick. He covers Alan and gets a one count. He goes for the Kawada Kicks, but Alan grabs his foot and stands up, quickly hitting a dragon screw legwhip. Alan plants a foot on Low Ki's knee and grabs the ankle, falling backward to wrench the leg even more. He slams Low Ki's knee into the mat, and then kicks at the ankle. Ki gets to his feet and Alan whips him into the ropes. He puts his head down and Low Ki rolls across his back. He jumps onto Alan's shoulders, but Alan drops him into a shinbreaker, and then places Low Ki's foot across the top rope. He kicks the top rope to wrench at Low Ki's hamstring, and Low Ki goes down. Alan applies a stepover toehold, and then drops his knee across Low Ki''s leg. Low Ki kicks him off with his other leg, but when he tries to stand, he collapses.)
David: Somewhat surprisingly, Alan Mayse has taken control early on in this match.
Dick: I expected him to wrestle a more defensive style, but he's taken it to Low Ki right from the start with a flurry of offense aimed at taking away those dangerous kicks.
David: So far, Alan has worked not only the knee, but all parts of Low Ki's left leg, from the hamstring all the way down to the ankle.
(Alan applies a figure four leglock, and Low Ki yells in pain. After a few moments, Low Ki makes it to the ropes, and Alan releases the hold. Low Ki uses the ropes to get up and Alan sends him right back down with a kick to the back of the knee. He gives Low Ki a backbreaker, and then goes for an Indian Deathlock. Low Ki desperately kicks Alan in the head to avoid it, and Alan is forced to back off. Low Ki limps to his feet and lands a spinning back kick to Alan with his left leg, but it ends up hurting him worse. He tries another kick with his right leg, but his left leg collapses under his weight. Alan drags Low Ki to the ropes and lays his left leg over the bottom rope. Alan jumps down across the leg to further weaken it. He picks up Low Ki and whips him into the ropes, and Low Ki goes for the Tidal Wave on one leg. Alan easily avoids it, and Low Ki crashes to the mat. Alan quickly applies the Maysochist, and Low Ki desperately goes for the ropes. Alan tries to hold him in the center of the ring, but Low Ki keeps inching. Finally, the pain is too much and Low Ki goes to tap out, but his hand hits the ropes before it hits the mat and the ref makes Alan break the hold. Alan complains that Low Ki was going to give up, and that the ref shouldn't need visual confirmation. Alan goes back over to Low Ki and picks him up, but Low Ki bats away his arms and snapmares Alan over, giving him a knife edge chop to the back of the neck. He gives him another one as he tries to shake some feeling back into his leg. Alan sweeps his other leg and moves back in, but Low Ki grabs him behind the head and pulls him down into an upside down dragon sleeper. Though Alan is still on his feet, his head is grapevined, and he starts to lose consciousness. Ki uses Alan's body to pull himself up, and Alan shoves him into the corner. He charges, but Low Ki moves and then backs up, hitting the Tidal Crush. Alan falls to the mat, and Low Ki holds his leg again.)
Dick: What an amazing and versatile athlete Low Ki is. He saw that he wasn't going to be able to use his kicks while Alan was working the leg, so he used his upper body to gain the upper hand.
David: Alan's goal of keeping Low Ki off his feet seems a bit shortsighted now, but it may yet come back to pay off in the end. Low Ki, however, is now in control.
(Alan seems to be out, and Low Ki covers for a two count. He picks Alan up and shoves him into the corner, hitting some knife edge chops. He headbutts Alan a couple of times and then brings him down into a Fujiwara armbar. He brings Alan to his feet and segues into a hammerlock. He doubles him over and hooks his head, driving him down with a DDT. He pulls Alan up by the hair and applies a dragon sleeper, trying to turn him over into a Dragon Clutch, but Alan won't let him. Finally, Low Ki gives up and wraps his legs around Alan for the body scissors. Alan starts to fade, and he tries to get to the ropes. They're just out of reach, so Alan rolls himself over. Ki triumphantly applies the Dragon Clutch, but Alan reaches the ropes. Low Ki nearly gets disqualified because he won't let go, but he finally relinquishes the hold. He gives Alan a couple of kicks to the head, and signals that it's almost over. He aims a kick at Alan as he gets to his knees, but Alan ducks and gives Low Ki an exploder suplex. Both men lay on the mat as the ref counts, and at seven they're back up. Alan ducks a clothesline and hits a spinning heel kick. He gives Low Ki an overhead belly to belly suplex and then covers for a two count. Alan gives Low Ki some kicks of his own and Ki backs up against the ropes. Alan charges, but gets backdropped. He lands on his feet on the apron and blocks a right hand from Low Ki before ramming his head into the top turnbuckle. Alan hits a springboard dropkick, and signals for the Tiger Bomb. He gets Ki up, but Low Ki lands on his feet and whips Alan into the turnbuckles. Low Ki gives him a German suplex, and then rides Alan until he has him set up for the Ki Krusher. Alan manages to escape and shove Low Ki into the corner. He charges with a running dropkick, but Low Ki moves and Alan hangs himself upside down on the corner. Low Ki pushes him upright to the top turnbuckle and goes up. He goes for a Super Ki Krusher, but Alan hooks his foot on the top rope and hits Low Ki until he releases him. He goes for the Super Tiger Bomb, but Low Ki counters with a hurricanrana, and both men are down again. At the nine count, they're back up, but staggering. Alan backs into the corner to steady himself and Low Ki goes for another Tidal Crush. Alan moves, and Low Ki kicks the post. He limps to the center of the ring and Alan charges him, but gets an elbow to the face. Low Ki springboards off the second rope for the Tidal Wave, but Alan ducks and Low Ki lands on his bad leg. Alan rolls him up with a Byer Bridge and hooks Low Ki's good leg with both hands. Low Ki is unable to kick out with his weak leg, and Alan gets the three count.)
Winner: Alan Mayse
David: I don't believe it! Alan Mayse has just beaten that killer, Low Ki!
Dick: Low Ki would just not give up those kicks, and it came back to bite him. Alan is notorious for finding a way to win when he's seemingly outmatched.
(They show a replay of the hurricanrana from the top, and Alan's Byer Bridge on Low Ki.)
David: Alan may be on his way to our next event, Punked Out, which will be on May 21, from the Bingham Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky, to challenge for the MECCA Championship if he can keep these performances up. Up next, the culmination of the feud between Lisa Letty and LuFisto over the Ladies' Championship, which started back on our very first show. Earlier on, Bill Bicknell caught up with our Ladies' Champion.
(Backstage, Bill Bicknell is standing by with Lisa Letty.)
Bill: Lisa, you've got to be more excited than you've ever been in your short career. Not only are you competing on pay-per-view, in front of 3500 fans at the Hara Arena, but you're defending your Ladies' Championship, a title you've held from day one here in MECCA.
Lisa: You're right, Bill, I've got goosebumps up and down my arms. I wasn't even in the business three years ago, and look what I've accomplished. Winning this title was a great achievement, but let me tell you something... holding the title has been an even better experience. It's given me greater confidence, pride in my work and ability to improve. I heard LuFisto earlier saying that the student never outmatches the teacher. Well, LuFisto, you'll recall that we met one on one once before, and I outmatched you then. Tonight, you will see exactly what I've learned from you.
Bill: Last time you faced LuFisto, it was in a regular match. Tonight, you will be facing her in her specialty, hardcore-style.
Lisa: You can call it hardcore, you can call it no holds barred, anything goes, or any number of descriptions. There was once a time, LuFisto, when I would have been hesitant to step into the ring with you in this type of environment. However, as champion, that's a qualm I can no longer afford. I used to have great respect for you, as a trainer and a friend, but you've thrown it all away. After we've bludgeoned each other with chairs, tables, pipes, kendo sticks or whatever else you bring, and I lock in the Letty Stretch, and you feel like your arms are about to be torn from your shoulders, no longer will anyone see Lisa Letty: student. They will see Lisa Letty: the First Lady of MECCA.
("Fell in Love with a Girl" hits and LuFisto makes her way to the ring, along with Gail Kim.)
David: Lisa is fired up for this one. I've never seen such an intense look in her eyes. Here comes the challenger for the Ladies' Title, flanked by fellow Dangerous Liaison member Gail Kim.
Dick: LuFisto is confident that in her type of match, Lisa Letty won't stand a chance. Lisa has been champion since January 4, and LuFisto hasn't been able to take it from her yet, so I guess we'll see.
(Gail Kim brings in a garbage can full of weapons, but referee Nikki Alvarado tells her to go back to the locker room. Kim and LuFisto protest, but in the end, Gail is forced to leave.)
David: How about that? Nikki Alvarado is kicking the Sensation of Submission to the curb!
("Edge of Seventeen" hits and Lisa Letty makes her way to the ring.)
David: Here comes the Ladies' Champion now.
Dick: I remember back to when Lisa was training to wrestle, and the other trainees had nicknamed her "Little" Lisa. I think before tonight's over, she's never going to have to hear that name again.
Ladies' Championship: Lisa Letty vs. LuFisto - Hardcore Match
Referee: Nikki Alvarado
(Nikki shows LuFisto the belt, but LuFisto suddenly grabs it and takes a swing at Lisa. Lisa blocks the belt shot and kicks LuFisto, forcing her to drop the belt. The bell rings, and Lisa works over LuFisto with right hands. She whips her into the ropes and spears her down, hitting her with more right hands. LuFisto covers up, but Lisa starts kneeing her in the ribs. LuFisto covers her ribs, but Lisa just starts pummeling her head with rights again. Lisa pulls LuFisto to her feet and applies an armwringer. She cranks on the arm and segues into a hammerlock. LuFisto trips her with her free hand, but Lisa kicks her into the corner. Lisa clotheslines her down as she staggers out and covers for a one count. She snapmares LuFisto over and bounces off the ropes, hitting a rolling necksnap. She whips LuFisto into the ropes, but gets reversed. Lisa slides under her legs and tries a clothesline, but LuFisto ducks. LuFisto tries a clothesline, but Lisa ducks. They simultaneously hit each other with elbow strikes and stagger back. They come at each other again with simultaneous big boots, which staggers them both back into the ropes. They bounce off and meet in the center of the ring with a simultaneous clothesline, putting them both down on the mat. They get up and grapple with a knuckle lock. LuFisto forces Lisa's shoulders to the mat, but Lisa puts her feet up into LuFisto's midsection and swings her back to her feet. Lisa jumps up to perch on LuFisto's shoulders, but instead of going for a sunset flip, she turns the other way and gives her a hurricanrana. LuFisto reels and goes for the garbage can of weapons, but Lisa kicks it back into her face, sending weapons everywhere. Lisa takes a chair and places it in between the second and third turnbuckles. She whips LuFisto into the corner and then charges, but LuFisto counters with a drop toehold into the chair. LuFisto makes a quick cover and gets a one count. She gives Lisa a vertical suplex and then sets up two chairs facing each other near the corner. She places Lisa on the top turnbuckle and goes for a hurricanrana into the chairs. However, Lisa holds on and LuFisto just backflips to her feet. Lisa comes off the second turnbuckle with a missile dropkick, propelling LuFisto back onto the seats of the chairs. She then props one of the chairs up on the top turnbuckle and grabs LuFisto's legs. She gives her a slingshot into the chair, and LuFisto falls backwards and lands across Lisa's knees. Lisa turns her over and spins around, hooking the arms and going for the Letty Stretch, but LuFisto gets a foot on the ropes. Lisa kicks her as she gets up and gives her a belly to belly suplex. She goes over to the garbage can and takes out a kendo stick. She hits LuFisto across the back a few times and then whips her into the ropes. LuFisto ducks another kendo stick shot and gets behind Lisa, hitting a Russian Legsweep using the stick. She goes to the second turnbuckle and grabs Lisa by the hair and leaps off, smashing her face into the set up chair. LuFisto covers and gets a two count.)
David: Lisa seemed to be in control while they were wrestling, but now LuFisto takes the advantage.
Dick: It makes sense. LuFisto is much more used to matches with weapons than Lisa is.
(LuFisto retrieves a chain and whips Lisa across the back with it a couple of times. She then wraps it around Lisa's throat and sits on the top turnbuckle, lifting her off her feet and choking her. She then leaps down out of the ring, snapping Lisa across the top rope. LuFisto goes under the ring and brings out a table, sliding it into the ring. She sets it up in the corner and picks Lisa up, headbutting her. She whips Lisa into the table, but Lisa weighs so little that she merely bounces off the table and falls to the mat. LuFisto grabs her by the hair and drags her to her feet, asking her if that's the way she wants it. Lisa flips her off, so LuFisto slaps her across the face. She gets the garbage can and places it between the second and top turnbuckles in another corner. She whips Lisa into the corner, but Lisa tips up and catches LuFisto in a headscissors. She takes her over right into the garbage can. Lisa goes for the Letty Driver, but LuFisto escapes and executes a Michinoku Driver. She says that it's over and pulls the table out of the corner. She sets it up in the middle of the ring and then slides out of the ring. She manages to find a ladder and slide it into the ring as well. Lisa is getting to her feet, so LuFisto picks up a chair and blasts her in the face with it. She sets up the ladder and then lays Lisa across the table. She climbs the ladder, but Lisa rolls off the table and starts to climb the other side. LuFisto sees her coming and pounds on the top of her head with her palm. She grabs Lisa by the hair and drags her up near the top of the ladder, applying a front facelock. She goes for a superplex, but Lisa hooks her leg into the rungs of the ladder and hits LuFisto with rights. She rams LuFisto's head into the ladder, forcing LuFisto down a few rungs. Lisa slams her head into the ladder again, and LuFisto is reeling. Lisa suddenly vaults over the top of the ladder and into LuFisto's arms for a Letty Press all the way down and through the table. They both lie motionless in the ring.)
David: That was an unbelievable stunt by Lisa Letty, but it had to be out of desperation.
Dick: You see that Nikki Alvarado isn't giving them a ten count. There are no count outs in this environment. We'll just have to wait and see who gets up first.
(After about twenty seconds, Lisa starts to stir and she staggers to her feet. However, as the crowd cheers her on, Gail Kim suddenly runs in through the crowd and grabs the Ladies' belt from the timekeeper. She runs into the ring and blasts Lisa in the face with it, sending her down. Lisa is out, and Gail Kim gets a chair, but Shadow suddenly runs down and pulls Gail out of the ring. She hits her with elbow strikes and forearms, and Gail fights back. They brawl up the aisle as LuFisto starts to stir. She rolls over and drapes an arm across Lisa, but Lisa barely manages to kick out at two. They get to their feet and trade rights, but neither one has much left. Lisa gets the better of the exchange and whips LuFisto into the ropes, putting her head down. LuFisto hooks her arms and rolls her back right into LuFisto's Law. However, she can't get her fingers locked, and Lisa keeps fighting it. LuFisto gets her fingers locked briefly, but Lisa breaks her grip. She gets to her feet, taking LuFisto with her, and lifts her in a fireman's carry, giving her a LuFisto Launcher. She covers, but only gets a two count. Lisa sets up two chairs facing each other again, and whips LuFisto into the corner. She tries a drop toehold, but LuFisto refuses to go down and pokes Lisa in the eye. LuFisto tries a clothesline, but Lisa ducks and goes for another hurricanrana. However, LuFisto counters with a powerbomb across the chairs. She covers Lisa and gets another close two count. She shoves Lisa into the corner and hits her with knife edge chops. She backs up and charges, but Lisa gets her feet up. She hits a bulldog from the second rope onto one of the chairs and covers for a two count. Lisa decides to go up the ladder, and LuFisto rushes up the other side to meet her. They trade right hands and eventually tip the ladder. Lisa goes over the top and to the floor, but not before she grabs LuFisto's arm and snaps it across the top rope. LuFisto holds her arm in pain as Lisa recovers on the outside. She slides back in and goes for the Letty Stretch, but LuFisto won't go down to her stomach. Lisa takes her over with a butterfly suplex and then goes for the Letty Stretch, but LuFisto manages to get a foot on the ropes again. Nikki breaks the hold up, and Lisa grabs a chair. She plans to brain LuFisto with it, but she ducks and sends Lisa down with a back elbow. LuFisto sets up the chair near the corner where the garbage can is wedged and sits Lisa on the chair. She backs up and charges for a spear, but Lisa moves and LuFisto ends up diving through the chair and hitting her head on the garbage can. With LuFisto still trapped in between the chair, Lisa pulls it out from the corner a little bit and then hooks LuFisto's arms from the other side and somersaults over, applying the Letty Stretch while using the chair for extra pressure. LuFisto screams in pain, and finally taps out after about fifteen seconds.)
Winner: Lisa Letty
David: What a match between these two ladies! Lisa retains after a modified Letty Stretch.
Dick: Lisa definitely rose to the occasion tonight. No one gave her a chance in a hardcore match against LuFisto, but Lisa once again found a way to beat the odds.
(Lisa holds her title high in the air and rolls out of the ring, heading to the back.)
David: Lisa Letty has proven to the wrestling world tonight that she is a true champion. Up next, however, we've got the Eccentrics vs. KDX. This all started on our very first show on January 4, when David Caldwell returned to wrestling with the intent to destroy the Eccentrics after what they did to him in RCW. He brought Dick Togo and Men's Teioh to MECCA to exact revenge, and the two teams met in the first round of the International Invitational, with David Caldwell helping his team cheat to win. However, in the middle of the tournament, Men's Teioh was injured, and Kaz Hayashi replaced him in KDX. But the Eccentrics don't care. Tonight, they plan to shut David Caldwell up once and for all.
("Entre dos Tierras" hits and Kaientai Deluxe make their way to the ring, along with David Caldwell.)
David: KDX is on their way down, and this could be the culmination of David Caldwell's plan. For the past two weeks on Go Time, Dick Togo and Kaz Hayashi have managed to divide and conquer to take out Huh and Cheesecake. First, Caldwell lured Cheesecake into that ambush from KDX, where they worked over his recently healed arm. Then, Hayashi attacked Huh after his match last week, using Joey Sprinklers's skateboard to try and give him a concussion.
Dick: Like it's going to make any difference whether or not Huh has a concussion. He doesn't use that peanut-sized brain of his anyway.
("Pajamarama" hits and the Eccentrics make their way to the ring. Cheesecake's arm is bandaged, and Huh is holding his head.)
David: You see the effects of the KDX attacks visibly now on the Eccentrics. There's no dancing tonight, because Huh and Cheesecake are looking for revenge of constant ambushes and sneak tactics they've had to endure over the past three months.
Dick: I hope that the... uh oh, it's starting!
The Eccentrics vs. Kaientai Deluxe
Referee: David Bowers
(Huh and Cheesecake charge the ring and attack KDX as the bell rings. Huh pairs off with Hayashi as Cheesecake trades rights with Togo. Togo knees Cheesecake in the midsection and whips him into the ropes, but Cheesecake slides underneath his legs and then pokes him in the eye when he turns around. He clotheslines Togo as Huh whips Hayashi into the ropes. The Eccentrics give him a double looper, and then send Togo down with a double clothesline. They roll out of the ring and Caldwell consoles them. In the ring, Huh drops down to all fours, and Cheesecake bounces off the ropes, vaulting off Huh's back to hit a high cross body on Kaz, Caldwell and Togo on the outside. Cheesecake, Kaz and Caldwell get to their feet as Togo rolls into the ring. Huh sends him down with a series of right hands and goes for a bulldog. Togo pushes Huh into the turnbuckles, and charges. Huh moves out of the way and armdrags Togo back to the center of the ring, nailing him with a clothesline. He gives Togo a DDT and tags Cheesecake, who goes to the second rope and hits a legdrop. He covers and gets a two count. He bounces off the ropes and hits Togo with a swinging neckbreaker, and covers for another two count. He picks Togo up, but Togo kicks him in the midsection and tags in Hayashi. Cheesecake gives him a hip toss, and then a back suplex. He tags Huh in, and they whip Kaz into the ropes. They lift him for a double flapjack, but drop him across their knees, and then give him a double elbow drop to the back. Huh covers and gets a two count. He gives Kaz a vertical suplex and then goes up top for the moonsault. Togo distracts the ref, while Caldwell shakes the ropes, crotching Huh on the top turnbuckle. Young sees Caldwell on the apron and makes him get down. Kaz drops Huh into a tree of woe, and Togo comes in and gives him a running dropkick. Kaz follows up with a dropkick of his own, and Huh falls to the mat. Hayashi covers for a two count. Huh gets to his feet, but Hayashi snapmares him over, and starts pounding on Huh's temple. He gives him some crossface strikes, and then grabs him by the hair. He pulls him to his feet and hits a headbutt. He tags Togo, who hits a standing senton splash. He gives Huh a legdrop and covers for a two count.)
David: Now KDX is going to work on Huh's temple, which Hayashi injured just this past Tuesday. The Eccentrics are struggling.
Dick: I knew it was only a matter of time. KDX is too crafty to be beaten by a couple of buffoons like these two.
(Togo whips Huh into the corner and charges, but Huh moves once again. He charges, but Togo gets his feet up. He sits on the top turnbuckle and grabs Huh, hitting a diamond dust. He covers, but Huh gets a foot on the bottom rope at two. He tags Hayashi and snapmares Huh over. Hayashi gives him a dropkick to the back of the head and Huh falls to the mat, where Togo gives him an elbow drop. Hayashi follows up by bouncing off the ropes and hitting a somersault splash, covering for a two count. Hayashi puts Huh in a standing crossface, and Huh starts to fade. Young drops his hand twice, but on the third try, Huh keeps his arm up. He slowly gets to his feet as Caldwell gets on the apron again. Cheesecake drops to the floor and chases Caldwell around the ring. Huh hits Hayashi in the midsection a few times, and then gives him a modified Russian Legsweep to break the hold. He crawls over to his corner, but Cheesecake is busy chasing Caldwell. Cheesecake sees him and runs back to his corner, but Hayashi pulls Huh away just before he can tag in. Kaz throws Huh to the mat and stomps on him. He gives him a scoop slam and tags in Togo, who goes to the top rope. He goes for a senton bomb, but Huh moves. Huh crawls to the corner and tags in Cheesecake. Cheesecake gives Togo a high knee and gives Hayashi a back body drop. Togo charges him, but gets a spinebuster. Cheesecake hits a falling headbutt and covers for a two count. He goes for the Long Kiss Goodnight, but Hayashi sends him down with a spinning heel kick. Huh comes back in and gives Hayashi a running bulldog. He gives Togo some right hands and backs him into a corner as Cheesecake backs Hayashi into a corner. They try to whip KDX into each other, but it's reversed. Huh and Cheesecake do a dosey-do, and keep on doing it. KDX doesn't understand what's going on and tries to get them, but the Eccentrics extend their arms, sending Hayashi and Togo down with helicopter style clotheslines. Finally, they let go of each other, and nearly collapse from dizziness. Togo catches Huh with a swinging DDT, and Cheesecake bounces off the ropes, but gets tripped by Caldwell. Cheesecake rolls outside the ring and grabs Caldwell, who begs off. Hayashi goes to the outside and tries an Asai Moonsault, but Cheesecake moves and Hayashi takes out Caldwell. Cheesecake rolls back in, and Togo hits him in the back with forearms. He tries a suplex, but Cheesecake escapes. He tries the Screw Driver, but Togo slams his arm down on Cheesecake's bad arm, causing Cheesecake to let go. He gives Cheesecake an armbar DDT and lays his arm out on the mat. He goes to the top rope for the Senton Bomb, but Huh comes over and launches him off the top rope. Togo lands on his chest and staggers to his feet. The Eccentrics execute the Flathead, and Cheesecake turns him over in a 69 position for the cover, getting the three count just before Hayashi can make the save.)
Winners: The Eccentrics
David: The Eccentrics just stuck it to David Caldwell and KDX! What a victory for Huh and Cheesecake.
Dick: I wouldn't put it past Cheesecake to stick it to any guy in this company, but I'll give them credit. They're not the brightest guys out there, and hurt to boot, but they managed to isolate a single member of their opponents' team and that was pretty smart wrestling.
David: This is an important victory as well, because now Huh and Cheesecake are definitely in line for a shot at the tag titles. Ladies and gentlemen, we have only the main event left. This match will crown the first MECCA Champion. It's the climax of a two month Round Robin, and will be contested under MECCA Challenge rules. It is Nykk vs. C.M. Punk, and we have video showing what all has led up to this match.
(A video is shown, chronicling the Nykk/Punk feud and the Round Robin, set to "Both Eyes Closed" by Soul Casket.)
Jared: Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for joining us tonight at the MECCA Challenge! We are now ready for our main event, which will be for the MECCA Championship, and contested under MECCA Challenge rules. What this means is that in this match, there are no count-outs, disqualifications or pinfalls. There will be no outside interference or foreign objects permitted, as well as no rope breaks. The only way to attain victory is to make your opponent submit or knock him unconscious to where he is unable to answer the referee's ten count. Your referee for this contest is Keith Young.
(Up on the stage, Halo, the lead singer of Soul Casket, makes her way to the ring as they perform "Destroy." When they get to the interlude, Nykk makes his way to the ring. He poses for the crowd as the song goes on, and acknowledges Halo and Soul Casket once it ends.)
David: This is a big night for Nykk, and the elaborate entrance has to match the way he's feeling going into this match.
Dick: There are a lot of personal issues between Punk and Nykk, and I don't know if Nykk has the temperament to keep focused on winning the MECCA Championship.
("Miseria Cantare" hits and C.M. Punk makes his way to the ring.)
David: The always focused C.M. Punk has been dead set on becoming the first MECCA Champion. The guy may be a loon, but he's one hell of a wrestler.
Dick: He just feels that it's his rightful place to be at the top of this promotion. He has SELF to back him up, but he needs that MECCA Title to prove his worth to everyone.
Jared: To my left... from Bellbrook, Ohio... weighing in at 227 lbs... he has been a two-time RCW Champion, and his Round Robin record stands at 2-1... introducing a co-owner of MECCA... this is Nykk! And his opponent, to my right... from Chicago, Illinois... weighing in at 220 lbs... he has been a two-time ROH Tag Team Champion, and his Round Robin Record also stands at 2 wins, 1 loss. He is the leader of the Straight Edge Lifestyle Foundation.... C.M. Punk!
MECCA Championship: Nykk vs. C.M. Punk - MECCA Challenge
Referee: Keith Young
(The bell rings as Nykk and Punk crouch in opposite corners, locking eyes with each other. Neither one wants to make the first move, but finally Nykk charges Punk. Punk sidesteps him with a knee to the midsection and pound on Nykk's back with forearms and double axehandles. He hits Nykk in the face with some right hands, but Nykk fires back with rights of his own. They trade rights, and Nykk goes for a quick dropkick to the knee, but Punk sidesteps him. He tries an elbow drop, but Nykk moves and then takes Punk over with an armdrag into an armbar. He allows Punk to get to his feet and pulls him in for a headlock. Punk tries to fight out of it and then tries countering with a back suplex, but Nykk shifts his weight and takes Punk over with a side headlock takeover, getting a one count. Punk counters with a headscissors, and Nykk kicks out of it. They get to their feet, and Nykk gets another side headlock takeover, but is forced to release it after another headscissors. He takes Punk over again with the side headlock takeover, but this time avoids the headscissors, cinching in the headlock. Punk grabs Nykk's ponytail for leverage and gets to his feet. He gives Nykk several shots to the ribs and backs him into the ropes, whipping him off to the other side. Punk sends Nykk down with a shoulderblock and holds his head in pain as all the blood rushes back to it. He bounces off the ropes, and Nykk drops down. They both go for a running leg lariat and end up crashing to the mat. They look at each other for a moment and then roll to their feet. Nykk goes for another side headlock takeover, but Punk won't go down. He tries to counter into a Pepsi Twist, but Nykk ducks under the clothesline and goes for the Trinity, hitting a back suplex. He rolls through for a German, but Punk hooks his leg and elbows Nykk in the face until he releases the waistlock. He bounces off the ropes, but Nykk sends him flying with a running back elbow. Punk rolls through the ropes and to the floor, and Nykk gives chase. Punk rolls back in and gives Nykk a kneedrop to the back of the head as he follows. He snapmares Nykk over and then hits a rolling necksnap. He gives Nykk a vertical suplex and waits for him to get up. He bounces off the ropes, but Nykk dropkicks him in the knee to take him down. Nykk quickly applies an Indian Deathlock, and Punk scoots over to the ropes, grabbing the bottom rope. Young reminds him that there are no rope breaks, so Punk hits Nykk in the face until he can get out of the hold. Nykk gets to his feet before Punk and sends him down again by kicking the back of the knee. He does it again, and then rams Punk's knee into the mat. Punk limps to his feet, and Nykk gives him a backbreaker. He follows up with a snap suplex, and then goes to the top turnbuckle. He hits a front missile dropkick, sending Punk back down. Young starts the ten-count on Punk, but he's back up at four. Nykk moves back in, but Punk pokes him in the eye. He tries a kick, but Nykk catches his leg and executes a dragon screw legwhip. He goes for the Bellbrook Cedarleaf, but Punk fights it. He eventually kicks Nykk back into the corner, where he stumbles and hits his head on the edge of the top turnbuckle. Punk gets to his feet and gives Nykk some knife-edge chops. He whips Nykk to the opposite corner, but Nykk comes out with a clothesline that takes Punk down. He goes for Howling Moon II, but Punk escapes and shoves him into the ropes. He kicks Nykk on the rebound and hits Welcome to Chicago, hurting his own knee in the process.)
David: Punk finally seems to have gotten control over Nykk, after a lethal assault on his knees a few minutes ago.
Dick: Punk fell right into Nykk's traps, but he has to worry about inflicting some damage on Nykk now and not about what condition his knee is in.
(Punk stomps Nykk in the head a few times and brings him to his feet. He rams Nykk's head into the top turnbuckle and then repeats it a few more times. He whips Nykk into the opposite corner, but Nykk reverses and charges. Punk gets his feet up and then hits a blockbuster from the second rope. Punk goes to a neutral corner as Young starts the ten-count. At five, Nykk is back on his feet, but backs into the corner. Punk charges him and takes him over with a standing headscissors. He keeps the hold locked in, but Nykk manages to turn it over and escape. He grabs a headlock, but Punk quickly gets to his feet and slips out of it, countering with a hammerlock. He spins Nykk around and knees him, hitting a hammerlock DDT. He then bounces off the ropes and drops a knee onto Nykk's back. Nykk turns over in pain, which allows Punk to apply the Devil Lock. He keeps it locked in for about twenty seconds until Nykk manages to break the hold. Punk drops another knee on his back and kicks him in the head. He whips Nykk into the ropes and hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Nykk rolls to the corner in pain and gets in a sitting position. Punk comes over and signals for the Face Wash. He wipes his boot across Nykk's face several times and then bounces off the ropes, delivering a kick to the side of Nykk's head. Punk measures him and then bounces off the ropes again, kicking him once more. Punk drags Nykk's semi-conscious body out of the corner, and Young makes him go to a neutral corner. He starts the ten-count, but Nykk makes it to his feet at six. Nykk walks into a clothesline from Punk, who goes to the top rope. Nykk gets to his feet and stops him with some right hands. He goes up top with Punk for a superplex, but Punk holds onto the top rope. He gives Nykk some shots to the ribs and goes for the Pepsi Plunge. Nykk tries to go low with a headbutt, but Punk manages to catch him this time and hold him immobile. However, Nykk manages to counter with a backdrop. Punk lands on his feet on the mat and tries a powerbomb out of the corner. However, Nykk counters once again into a hurricanrana. They both lie motionless for a few moments, but get to their feet. Nykk blocks a right and responds with a few of his own. He ducks a clothesline from Punk and bounces off the ropes, hitting a running leg lariat. He lifts Punk in a fireman's carry and hits a rolling Samoan Drop. He whips Punk into the ropes but gets reversed. Punk puts his head down, and Nykk gives him a tiger slam, and tries to segue into a Cedarleaf. However, as hard as he tries, he can't quite get Punk to turn over. Finally, Punk grabs him by the hair and gives him some forearms to the head until he releases the hold. Punk rolls back to a corner and gets to his feet, but Nykk charges him and hits him with a running European uppercut. Punk slumps down in the corner, grabbing the middle rope with his hands. Nykk gets his leg and heaves him out of the corner, but Punk flips to his feet and kicks Nykk, giving him a DDT. Punk rolls to a neutral corner and tells the ref to count. Nykk is up at seven, and Punk comes over. Nykk ducks behind him and hits the Trinity, releasing him on the dragon suplex. Punk folds up, and Young starts the count. He also gets to seven before Punk uses the ropes to pull himself up.)
David: How much longer can they keep this up? That ten-count is getting closer and closer.
Dick: And each submission hold is getting closer to a tap out. These two are fighting for their lives in there.
(Nykk picks Punk up, but gets a jawbreaker. Punk locks in an abdominal stretch, shamelessly grabbing the ropes for extra leverage. Nykk is in pain, but refuses to give in. Punk lands some extra shots to the ribs before grabbing the ropes again. Nykk still won't give up. The second time Punk tries to land some shots to the ribs, he leans out too far and Nykk hiptosses him to break the hold. Punk quickly gets back to his feet and hits a swinging neckbreaker. He goes for the Anaconda Vice, but Nykk gets his free hand in the way, blocking it. Finally, Punk yanks Nykk to his feet by his hair and throws him into the corner. He hits a running double knee lift and goes to the outside, bringing Nykk up to the top rope with him. He goes for the Pepsi Plunge, but Nykk refuses to go down with the move, and breaks Punk's grip. He hits Punk with rights and headbutts him, then gives him a shinbreaker across the top turnbuckle. Punk crumbles to the mat, holding his knee. Nykk tries for the Cedarleaf again, but Punk curls into a ball, and Nykk can't get him loose again, even after kicking him multiple times. He finally backs up to the corner and goes to the top rope, trying a splash. Punk moves, however, and Nykk crashes to the mat. They get to their feet and Punk hits the Pepsi Twist, going immediately into the Anaconda Vice. He gets it locked in, and Nykk starts to fade. After about thirty seconds, he loses consciousness. Young drops his hand twice, but on the third time, Nykk springs to life again. He edges toward the ropes, but instead of trying for a rope break, he gets his lower body onto the ring apron. He then rolls backwards and up between the middle and top rope, edging his lower body back into the ring. He manages to get his feet between the middle and bottom rope, standing on the apron. That allows him to finally break free from Punk's hold. Nykk holds his head in pain, which allows Punk to lift up his feet, hanging Nykk upside down in between the middle and bottom rope outside the ring. Punk bounces off the ropes and dropkicks Nykk's feet, sending him crashing headfirst onto the floor. Punk waits for Nykk to get up and then hits a tope to the outside. He rolls Nykk back in, and goes up top for a moonsault. Nykk gets to his feet and dropkicks Punk in the ass, crotching him on the top turnbuckle. Punk turns around on the top rope to face Nykk as he comes up and hooks Punk for the Nykkochet. Punk fights it, but Nykk manages to take him off the top rope with the northern lights suplex. He rolls through and hits the second northern lights on the mat, but instead of bridging, he rolls through again and brings Punk to his feet for another one. However, he changes gears and gets a double leg takedown, immediately applying the Cedarleaf in the middle of the ring. Punk scrambles for the ropes or for anything, but Nykk holds him completely immobile. Punk elbows him in the leg and tries crawling toward the bottom rope to imitate what Nykk did to break out of the Anaconda Vice. However, Nykk pulls him back to the center of the ring, kneeing Punk in the midsection as he goes and then dropping to one knee for more pressure. Punk stays in the hold for over a minute, and he starts to get more and more desperate. Just as he's about to tap, he grabs the ref's hand and bangs it on the mat. Nykk, hearing a tap out, releases the hold and raises his arms. Young informs Nykk that there was no tap out, and Nykk is angry. He shoves Young away and goes after Punk, who gives him a drop toehold into the middle turnbuckle. Punk wobbles to his feet as Nykk stands up in the corner. Punk charges him for a shoulder thrust, but Nykk jumps up and sits on the top turnbuckle, and Punk crashes into the ring post. Nykk grabs Punk's legs and lifts them up, and places his feet on the second rope so that Punk can't get his arms out. Nykk applies a hanging version of the Cedarleaf, and the ref asks for a submission since there are no rope breaks. Punk manages to swing his weight down and somersault Nykk back to the center of the ring to break the hold. Both men lie motionless, but manage eventually to get to their knees. They hit each other with half-hearted rights, and they're both swaying. They stagger to their feet, and Punk only has strength left to wrap his hands around Nykk's throat. Nykk responds by kicking Punk in the balls, and Punk backs up into the corner. Nykk charges him, but Punk counters with a flapjack into the top turnbuckle. Punk goes to the top once again, and finally delivers the Pepsi Plunge. Punk rolls away and gets to his feet on the ropes as Young starts the ten-count. Punk says that Nykk's not getting up, but at six, Nykk starts to stir. Punk throws a temper tantrum, and by eight, he's on his knees. Young counts nine, and just as he turns around to confirm the nine-count with the timekeeper, Nykk gets to his feet. Before Young turns back around, however, Punk charges Nykk and sends him back down with stiff kick to the head. Punk quickly goes over to the opposite corner, and Young turns around, sees Nykk down, yells out "Ten!" and calls for the bell.)
Winner: C.M. Punk
David: We've just witnessed a classic match, ladies and gentlemen! These two men fought their heart out, but in the end, Punk was able to take advantage of the referee's positioning and kick Nykk back down to the mat at nine.
Dick: It's perfectly legal, David. He couldn't have done it in view of the ref, because that would have broken the ten-count.
David: Nonetheless, after four months, we have our first MECCA Heavyweight Champion, and it's the leader of SELF, C.M. Punk.
(Katie Piehl comes to the ring, with the belt case. She enters the ring and unveils the MECCA Championship, holding it up for the crowd to see before presenting it to C.M. Punk and shaking his hand. Punk puts it around his waist and shows off to the crowd as Nykk starts to wake up.)
David: I can't think of a better person to legitimize a title belt than C.M. Punk, but now this means we're going to have to listen to is inane babbling on every show now!
Dick: It's not babbling, David. It's the truth.
David: However, my hat's off to Nykk. He fought long and hard in this Round Robin, but in the end, Punk wins it at 3-1, while Nykk's record falls to 2-2.
(Nykk gets up as Punk's music stops. Punk puts the belt on his shoulder and offers a handshake. Nykk looks at his hand for a moment and then shakes it. Punk pulls him in, and they embrace.)
David: How about this? Punk can afford to be a little gracious now that he's won.
(However, Eddie Crowe suddenly slides into the ring behind Nykk. Punk pushes Nykk back, and Eddie hits a low blow. Nykk falls to his knees as Punk gets a mic.)
David: What the hell!? Eddie Crowe just came out and gave Nykk a cheapshot, and it looks like that was Punk's intention all along.
(Eddie holds Nykk in place as Punk smiles.)
Punk: Nykk, I told you that I would be on top of this promotion. And I did it all within the confines of the match! I've proven that I am better than you, and I didn't need straight edge to do it. Now, the era of SELF begins, and I think the first thing I'll require is a blood sacrifice!
(He puts down the mic and grabs his belt, hitting Nykk in the head with it. Nykk falls to the mat, and Eddie holds him up again for another belt shot. Afterward, Nykk starts to bleed and loses consciousness.)
David: We need some help out here. Punk has just opened up Nykk, and I don't think he's done yet!
Dick: This is how you establish dominance, David. What do you think about that, Alpha Wolf?
Punk: Nykk, you have given your sweat and tears for this belt; now, you will give your blood!
(Punk hands the belt to Eddie, who holds it out with both hands. Punk wipes his hand across Nykk's forehead to get some blood and then smears it across the championship belt. He takes it from Eddie and holds it up as his music plays.)
David: Punk has just stained the belt with Nykk's blood!
Dick: What a statement to make, David! Punk is a genius!
David: We're just about out of time, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for joining us on the biggest night of our short history, and we hope to see you this Tuesday on Go Time. Now cut away from this sickening mess!
