Film Essay Assignment and Selection
1. Choose a film below and watch it.
2. Type a 500+ word essay critiquing the film using one of the
persuasion theories from the book. You may only use a theory
one time; then for your other two essays you must select a
different theory to use for your critique. Please do not summarize
the film (I can read a movie review); I want a persuasive critique.
Your essay grade will be 50% grammar and 50% content (strength of
your argument). Short essays will lose substantial points. All film
essays must be turned in by last class day.
One film essay must be turned in no later than Tuesday, March 4. Late essays will lose 20 points. No essays will be accepted after the last class day
of the semester
