My name is Melissa Kent, and I am a practitioner and teacher of Usui Ryoho Reiki. As time permits, I will be adding more pages to this site with information for all of my students. Until then, please use my Reiki III Master's site (Linda Horton) for study reference manuals.
Free and Low-Cost Attunements
I have several people who ask me if I provide attunements, and at what cost. I am very happy to provide FREE distant attunements for Reiki I and Reiki II to all who ask. If you would like hard-copy certificates and manuals, or would like to be attuned to Reiki III, I do require a small additional fee to cover the cost of materials.
Why do I provide free attunements? Reiki is a natural art of healing. I don't own it. I help create it, just as everyone else does in this world through living. The prices I charge cover the costs of the hard materials-- the paper for the books, toner ink, and staples... maybe a bottle of juice or box of tea for afterwards, but otherwise, none of the money goes to me. I do not agree with charging large sums of money for Reiki attunements because the emphasis goes on the cost, rather than the actual attunement. Attunements are just as healing to myself as they are to the person I am attuning. I enjoy giving them to others, because it is a form of sharing the simple kindness and loving that is Reiki. By eliminating the money issue, I can concentrate on the Reiki itself.

I do not provide certificates without attuning the recipient personally, sorry. Since my name is on them as the representative Reiki Master, handing them out without an attunement would be dishonest and go against the primary nature and principles of Reiki itself.
What I need from you in order to do an attunement
If you are looking to be attuned, please email me with your level of interest, and the following information:
Your name
City, State/Province, and Country where you live (so I can state my intentions during the attunement)
A brief description of your appearance-- skin tone, hair color, body frame, eye color, etc. This allows me to visualize you during the attunement. If you have a photo uploaded to your computer, this works fantastic, but is not required.
Once I hear from you, I will contact you with things you need to know about attunements, what to expect, etc., and we can schedule times that will work for you.
