Meanwhile, back in Communist Russia... began in Oxford about May 2000 when Mark got bored and entered a demo tape into a local student battle of the bands competition. In response MBICR formed over period of a few weeks, wrote a few songs, performed a few from the original demo, and didn't do too badly. Since then the band has played three more gigs and written new material each time. Along the way we picked up a new monalogist, a bassist, and lost a vocalist. Since then we've released a single on Tinfoil records, been played on John Peels show, the evening session, danish XFM and student shows, and german radio. We've done a Peel Session recording in Maida Vale which was fantastic. We're just about to record an accoustic session for XFM UK and the album which is probably called Indian Ink should be out in Autumn. We're all far to busy to do everything we ought to do to be in a band and consequently are running around doing everything in a haphazard way. We just played our first festival (truck - Oxfordshire) which was nice and are about to play in winchester with Caretaker and a local band called Drowning by Numbers who are quite good from what their friends tell me. I'm getting bored of writing all this rubbish. We sound like Mogwai, DIV, Sonic Youth, Radiohead, Gospeed, Primal scream and lots of other good bands. At least thats what I think. Other people seem to think we sound like NIN and U2 and Orbital although I flattly deny those descriptions.
Anyway, love and peace and equally nice things such as food - especially bacon.
