We spend too much time looking inwards. Too much time looking forwards to notice the future when it washes past us. And then because it is not the future we would want, we are not satisfied. If only we could let things happen, even if they don't meet the ideals we meticulously planned, then at least they'll live up to our expectations, and we could accept them. If the future constantly falls below expectations then why continue?

Constantly we try to change the future which soon becomes a fleeting present, before our efforts are wasted as they become the forgotten and divorced past. If we spent our time helping other people then maybe we would not notice the infinity of circumstance that is attacking us from all sides.

If we accept this storm of circumstance and raise our vision from the winds surrounding us to the horizon on which other people stand, then maybe we will be able to see the sunrise.
