Punk rock is all about having a mohawk or dyed black hair and wearing a spikey bracelet, having a
bunch ofstars tattood on your arms and playing really fast! Yah, and also its about big huge shows and singing about girls and bying 25 dollar t- shirts at (the haven of punk... didn't they invent it) HOT TOPIC! Yay! And puting patches on your jacket like "punk rock girl" or even better, an anarchy
patch bought at some fuckin store at the mall. You know what, I just thought of this, maybe punk rock is this: Go on the web or a record store and listen to these bands:

dr. know
gg allen
ny dolls
oxymoron
the business
bad brains
the naked lady wrestlers
circle jerks
So you still want to know what punk is? Go out an help a band flyer, go to some house parties and get in a pit, jump on stage and sing along, go and listen to your local punk bands (if you can think of any) and go to their shows pssst...time 4 change is not a punk band... dont be aftaid if someone spits some beer on your shirt, if you didn't pay so much to look like a punk you wouldn't care. Go out and do something for your local scene. What CJ is doing here is punk. All the bands and fans of the past would be proud of her for putting together this website for local bands, and is NOT afraid to say what she thinks. Not like most of the "punk rockers" that get all pissed off when she says they suck.... punk is about your local scene (cbgb's...gilman street....etc.) not about MTV or some corperate marketing sucess...but if posting up a blink 182 poster in you room makes you feel good or like you fit in, just remember local bands like the jackson 4, rebuilt,icky and the yucks, 12 step rebels, the visects, klouse, coke is better with bourbon, Los losers and the united would probably respect you a lot more and be more REAL and honest with you, and accepting you for who you are and not what everyone thinks you should be... at least more than any band like blink 182 or sum 41 or slip 92 or whatever their fucking names are.......if you are interested in getting into the punk scene, email CJ...she will tell you where you can find it

In my opinion punk is dead. like that one guy said new punk sucks so much ass. i think i was born ten years too late cuz the punk that was goin on back then was the real thing. the old stuff, old NOFX and rancid and pennywise and all the old stuff. the term "punk" has been broadened way too much
lately. it seems now that if u shop at Hot Topic (a store that i avoid at all costs by the way) and wear a New Found Glory t-shirt and gell in your hairyou're a punk.
