More Summer '03

So there's no actual evidence that I was on that New York trip, I realize. I've gotta stop being the only one who takes pictures...

Anyway, there was plenty more fun/photo-worthy events over the summer. Here's an over-view:

Towards the end of the summer, Jen, Sunshine, Kim, Luken, Brian and I made a trek to the Holyoke mall to get our back-to-school shopping done. The first picture is all of us in Luken's lovely yard, and the second is us once again, at the restaurant we ate at in the mall.

The first picture is the same day, of Brian, Jen, and Sunshine playing with a shopping cart outside the mall. The second picture is actually from winter break of '02, when we went to Chili's to celebrate Sunshine getting her braces off. That's Kim, Brian, Sunshine, Luken, and I.

But back to summer. This is one of my favorite pictures of all time, I think. Andy, Darren, and I went out one day and just had a heck of a time. We went to visit one of our favorite high school teachers and went to a swimming hole near his house with him, had some Chinese food for lunch, and went bowling later that night. Just a good time. Anyway, this was at the swimming hole. My intention was just to take a picture of Andy and Darren looking thoughtful on their rock. However, it happened that Wade was struggling against the current in the background at the time. I noticed him, but it didn't occur to me how much he added to the picture. He's the boyfriend of a girl I work with at Brooks (Kate) and eerily enough, the two of them are now really good friends with my parents. At the time, however, he was just the guy drowning in the background as Andy and Darren pondered whether or not they should jump in and help.

And here are my dear and darling parents. The picture on the left is Mom and Lin making ice cream. This used to be a summer tradition, but last year was the first time they'd done it in a while. I was charged wtih creating my own variety, with mixed results. I thought I had revolutionized ice cream by adding gummy candies. Then I realized that no one adds gummy candies to ice cream because they freeze. The second picture is Lin and Mom on the balcony of our hotel in Provincetown...always a fun vacation.

I suppose that's sufficient for now.
