The American Quarter Horses is one of the most common breeds in the world today. It's very versatile, it can do just about anything. It is seen in english shows, western, driving and racing. It got it's name because it was used to race over distances of a quarter of a mile. They are generally found more in western sports, having the right body type. People also say they have "cow sense" which makes them a good choice for ranch work and sports such as team-penning and cutting.
It's height can vary from 14.3hh-16.2hh and can be found in any solid color. They are generally stocky and muscular.
