The Miniatue Horse



- Miniature horses come from western europe about 300 years ago. They originate from shetland ponies and they were selectivly bred to produce even smaller horses.
- Miniature horse foals only weigh about 12-25 pounds when they're born and adult horses only weigh around 150 to 350 lbs. Most regular height horses weigh around 1000 lbs.
- The maximum height allowed for registration and showing is 34 inches.
- Miniature horses can do a lot of thing including jumping, driving and they can even be ridden by very small children.
