Newsletter

I enjoyed creating this newsletter. I have to write a parent letter each week to send home and have always just typed it in word without anything special. I am feeling much more comfortable with graphics and using templates and am going to try to be a little bit more creative with these weekly letters next year. I had fun playing around with this newsletter.  I can see that these newsletters would be very practical and simple to use the more familiarity that is gained.

Gradebook

I have used many of these programs for the first time. This was also my first time to play with a spreadsheet. I chose to create a gradebook on Excel. I started out, hoping to do it from scratch and did not have much luck. I had trouble getting my formulas to work and after a few hours and an attempt at creating it from scratch, I decided to look into a template. I ended up using a template, but still ran across some formatting problems. It took a lot of playing around with different things to get everything fit on one page and figure out how the formulas were written. At my school we use the GradeQuick Program so I am currently not in need of a program to use, but it is nice to know how to work it if I ever need to.  This is a wonderful resource for teachers. I wish I had had it back when we were still computing grades by hand. It would have made my life a lot easier.
