I honestly was not very
familiar with listservs and had not ever been a
member of one before this class. During my research for the pathfinder I ran
across a listserv that was available on Reading and using Reader's
Workshop. I joined it and have been pleased at all of the information that I
have been receiving. The listserv that I joined was "MiddleWeb
Listserv: Reading/Writing Workshop Project". Lately, many of the e-mails have been on using
poetry and word walls in the classroom. These are two areas that I had made a
goal for myself to improve on in the next school year. They have had some
wonderful ideas and suggested some wonderful resources. Before beginning this module I did not have
any background on listservs, but have been pleasantly
surprised at how much I have enjoyed joining this listserv. While I would love
to find some other listservs, I think I need to just
stick with one, because of the large amount of information coming in every day.
It is already a bit overwhelming. Listservs are a
wonderful tool for discussion and the opportunity to share and learn from other
educators. I plan to continue to receive information from this listserv and
have
found it very beneficial.
