New in this update:

Dynamic scenery: A Cessna, a B737 Sun Express, one helicopter and an original Hahn followme car. (VW Bus, you can expect it at the end of Rwy 21 at the right side)
Modified Tower: The walls dont drift away so much if you are very close to the tower.
Three advisers in yellow uniform like in real Hahn.  New static aircraft Viva Air and Antonov 2 of Frank Rsler,  people and a Bus, static fire-brigade car. Automtic fuel station at general aviation.
The runway has now white arrows instead of yellows like in the real airport and modified approch lighting at Rwy21. New taxiways and military hangars.
The use without the Europe I scenery is now possible, the advantage is that the landscape changes the colours when changing season, which isnt posible with Europe I.


Description:

This  Airport near the river Mosel in Rheinland Pfalz has not been palced in FS98 either in Europe I scenery, so I decided to create it. Since 1991, as it was converted from an american Military Base into a Civil Airport it is more and more important. The airport can be used full 24 hours and so its very atractive for the Cargo flights.

But also the passenger- traffic is growing very fast. In 1993 there were 7.200 Pasengers and now in 1997 there are 20.000 yet. The number is still growing. In summer there are a lot of passengers because as an alternative airport to Frankfurt/Main there are many routes to the main places to take vacations.





Now to the virtual airport:

I tried to do the main buildings as good as possible, the Tower and the big Cargo hall. As I never have been there, I took all the information from brochures which were sent to me by the Marketing Department from "Hahn". The taxiways, the forest, the approach lighting system and the signs are like in an VFR-Chart and from other material which I got.

So I placed also some static airplanes of flight-lines which are landing there in real life too. The stairs to enter are signed with the Logo of the Hahn Airport.

The runways length is about  3040 m and 45 m wide. There are two overruns of 300 m each. The airport has one DME, one NDB and ILS Cat II/III for Rwy 21 and ILS Cat I for the Rwy 03. For the Rwy 21 you can find an ILS-Approach Chart as IAP to use for Final Approach 5.03. Also you can find a SID and A STAR.

I hope that this airport can be an alternative, when we have problems of capacity at FFM, or that somebody will use it to fly with Condor or Spanair to Mallorca o the Canary Islands or to take only the Cessna to fly around the region of Mosel.
En August, 24 of 1996 a Concorde from Airfrance landed here for a flight exposition day at Hahn and also are arriving a lot of Jumbos 747-200 with french cargo. So the runway could be a little bit short. I wish you happy landings !

In the German Fligermagazin of 11/97 and 12/97 you can find two trainig IFR flights, one from Fra EDDF - EDFH and one from EDFH to EDFR (Saarbrcken). Its worth to try them.


Instalation:  Attention: You need also the textures of Airport 205f and VOD 2.7

a) With the Europe I Scenery:

You either can make a folder and then copy

-Hahn
  -Scenery of heur1-sc.zip the *.bgl Files (3)
  -Texture of hn15-tex.zip the *.pat/r8/af Files (49)

and then activate it with the Scenery Manager above the Europe I layer as local, or - there is nothing else right now - only copy the h...bgl files into Europe I Scenery folder and the Texturefiles into the Europe I Texture folder.

b) Without the Europe I Scenery:

Make a folder Hahn and then copy

-Hahn
  -Scenery of hfs98-sc.zip the *.bgl Files (4)
  -Texture of hn15-tex.zip the *.pat/r8/af Files (49)

and then activate it with the Scenery Manager as local.

			ILS Rwy 21		111.30
			ILS Rwy 031		109.30

			Atis Tower		119.65

Activating the dynamic scenery:

You have to activate under the dynamic scenery menu the aircraft service traffic and put on the very dense item. For the instalation read the text in hdyn-sc.zip
