Psycho Mantis


Strategy:
This boss is easy if you know what you have to do.
When Meryl is controlled, punch her to knock her down. After the screen goes black, pause the game and place the controller on the second port, instead of the second controller. This way the fight gets easier.
Mantis almost never changes his pattern. First, he will desapear and suddently appear shooting an energy ball. Use the Thermal googles to see him when he disappears. Shoot him before he trows the ball. Instead, you can press triangle to see from his eyes and find out where he is.
After he trows the energy balls, he'll go to the center of the room. Shoot once or twice with the socom and press X to lay on the ground. Stay on the ground. He'll control the couches to try to hit you. When the couches go away, get up and shoot him twice. Then lay down again and wait for the vases to pass by, and then get up and shoot him again.
Now run to the top left side of the room, near the statue, and stand up with the socom armed. When Mantis get closer to try to dodge from the paintings, shoot him two or three times. Now he goes back to the energy balls and start all over again, just repeat the operation until he loses half his energy.
When he controls Meryl again, trow a Stun grenade to knock her down. Now, just repeat the operation again. When he gets angry and start controling everything at once, lay down on the ground near the left wall and when he stops, get up and shoot him.
