lostprophets
Lostprophets were formed in late 1997 by a group of friends who were somewhat tired of the same old sound the "alternative" scene was providing.

The band was made of up of different members, some played on and off, while 5 stayed all the way through, the band now is made up of 6. Each member with a different musical influence, such as emo to metal, from post hardcore to breakbeat.

Since the group came to be, 3 demos have been recorded.

The first one in that same year of 1997 gained a perfect review in U.K. magazine, Metal Hammer, also stating that the band should be signed imediately.

The second demo recorded the following year, in 1998 and had different sound and was never released.

The third demo was recorded throughout 1999.

The band have played a countless number of sell out shows around the U.K. including Kerrang magazine sponsored nights.

Until now, the band has remained on a low, perfecting their sound, and working on other calls in life. The band took a break for a couple of months, to complete their studies and travel. But now they're here to be heard. The Lostprophets are the newest and freshest sound out of the U.K. and are going to be a big hit. They've already supported a killer U.K. band, pitchshifter and are heading out soon on the road for more.

Lostprophets.

the new sound.

Lostprophets FAQ:-

Where did the name 'LostProphets' come from?
--It comes from a Duran Duran live bootleg album that Ian had.

Whats the story behind the name 'ShinobiVSDragonNinja'?
--It comes from when the boys were hanging out in a local caf, playing on 'Shinobi', an arcade game, and arguing over which was better, 'Shinobi' or 'DragonNinja'. The song itself is about their past.

Why did they re-release and re-mix thefakesoundofprogress?
--It wasn't originally the bands idea, it was Columbia. The original album was made for only 4000 out of the bands own pockets, and the remix is how it would have sounded had they had more time, money and better production. What you hear on the new version is how the band originally envisioned the sound anyway. The new album still has the interludes, they are just on the end of the tracks instead of tracks of their own. The obscure intro was taken off though.

What does 'Kobrakai' mean?
--'Kobrakai' is another spelling of 'Cobra Kai' from 'Karate Kid', one of the prophets fave films.

Who is Straight-Edge? What is Straight-Edge? Whats with the black crosses?
--The crosses represent the fact that Ian, Lee and Mike L do not drink, smoke or take drugs.
