KNOW ABOUT PRELIMS:
WHO: Every swimmer (from all four teams in our division)
WHAT: To swim each stroke to try to earn their best time. No relays swum.
WHEN: Thursday, July 11 Age groups 10 and under 7:00 a.m. – warm-ups
8:00 a.m. – meet
Age groups 11 and up 4:30 p.m. – warm-ups
5:30 p.m. – meet
(Length of time per
session? Our best guess is 3 hours per
session)
WHERE: Glenshire pool.
WHY: To qualify for Finals
EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT FINALS:
WHO: Those swimmers who were timed in the Top 6 in each age group for each stroke from Prelims.
ALSO Relay teams will swim in this meet. Coach
will let you know on Thursday if you will be swimming in a relay on this
day. Some swimmers may be swimming in a
relay but no individual events on this day.
WHAT: To swim those strokes and relays for which a swimmer qualifies
WHEN: Saturday, July 13 - 7:00 a.m. is warm-ups and 8:00 a.m. is the meet.
WHERE: Sienna Plantation Pool
WHY: To qualify swimmers for Allstars
EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO
KNOW ABOUT ALLSTARS:
WHO: The Top 2 individuals per age group per stroke from Finals and the top relay team per age group.
These swimmers will swim against leading swimmers from the other 32 teams in the league. These 16 swimmers in each age group are from the 4500 swimmers in the league. It is really an honor to make Allstars.
WHAT: To swim those strokes and relays for which a swimmer qualifies.
WHEN: Monday, July 15. Times are to be announced.
WHERE: Alief Natatorium (map to be handed out later)
FOR PRELIMS WE
WILL NEED PARENTS TO HELP AND TIME IN THE MORNING AND THE AFTERNOON. SO PARENTS PLEASE PLAN AHEAD SO YOU CAN HELP
WITH ONE OF THESE MEETS. THOSE PARENTS
WHOSE CHILDREN QUALIFY FOR FINALS WILL NEED TO PLAN TO ALSO WORK AT THAT
MEET.
