TOYS FOR TOTS
GEORGE LIPSCOMB MEMORIAL BENEFIT RIDE
After a motorcycle ride in 2002, several local MontgomeryCity and Hermann area motorcycle enthusiasts got the idea, to put on a benefit ride to provide local area needy children with toys that they may, otherwise, not have. We decided that all motorcyclist would be welcome, from the hardcore Harley riders to the Metric Cruiser riders, the Sport Bike riders, EVERYONE! Well, in just a few short months the ride was a success, and one thing led to another, and having collected thousands of dollars and truckloads of toys for needy kids, we are proud to say that our initial pretense is still intact, that 100% of everything we make goes to LOCAL kids and their families. Every year, since 2002, we raise money and TRUCK LOADS of toys and give it to Montgomery City Youth in Need & Hermann Area Community Christmas.
You will notice that the ride is named the George Libscomb Memorial Benefit Ride, George was a driving force behind the initial idea to start this ride, sadly George passed away and the rest of us thought it fitting to memorialize him, by naming the ride in his honor. George personified the idea of giving to those less fortunate that ourselves.
In 2006 we had a parade of 226 motorcycles leave from Montgomery City on Sunday November 5th that ended at the Hermann Eagles Hall. This is a Parade Ride and it is an awesome sight to see and hear 226 motorcycles ride in formation through town. Every year we get more and more riders. We hope to make this year an even bigger success, and ask that you join in with us in brining a smile to a child's face during the upcoming holiday season.
