JOB SHADOWING
Job shadowing is an opportunity for students to experience a day of work at a job site they select.  If a student thinks they would like to do an internship or apprenticeship in high school, this is a good way for them to decide where they want to go.

Students are given the chance to job shadow beginning in the 8th grade.  Macon Middle School hosts a "Take Your Child to Work" day in the spring.  This is a day when students are excused from school if they return their permission slip ahead of time and and an interview sheet after they shadow.

At Franklin High School, 9th - 12th graders are allowed to shadow once a year.  There are two opportunities for them; once in the fall and once in the spring.  These opportunities are announced on the
Panther Growl approximately one month ahead.  Students must then fill out an application to shadow.
