Every night there is homework in: Reading: Reading logs, should be neatly completed with correct capitalization and punctuation. A parent or adult family member should initial indicating the student did read. (If your child enjoys reading more than 20 minutes, have them stop to complete reading log, then continue reading.) Occasionally, a story is assigned to the entire class. Discussion and class work will center around this story.
Vocabulary: Homework is tailored to help prepare students for Friday's quiz. (The number of vocabulary words will vary from week to week.)
Math >On Monday, students are given a homework sheet for the entire week. After we learn in the class room, about 5 problems are assigned each night on this homework sheet. On Friday, a quiz is given covering the lessons for the week. >Single digit multiplication facts will be quickly practiced each day. Students move at their own pace with these time tables. The highest grade for the week is calculated into the math grade.
Science and Social Studies Occasionally there will be homework in Social Studies and Science. A Social Studies and Science Project is done each term. Students are given class work time for the projects. These projects are 30 - 40% of their grades.
