Review of the 2000 summer season.
* Rule changes
* 8U league; 5 pitches, can be 5 strikes, either hit or sit down, no walks, adopted 7-0
* 8U league: overthrow at 1st limiting the runner to 2nd only, voted to table this in the spring meeting.
* 8u and 10U: line to be put at 80 ft and outfielders cannot be closer than that. This was experimented in the 8U tournament this year. Adopted by a 7-0 vote.
* 10U league: limit pitcher to 3 innings per game for season only. This is to help develop other pitchers. Adopted by a 7-0 vote.
* 10U league: pitching distance will be 35 instead of 30. This is to conform with ASA rules and for batter safety. Adopted by a 8-0 vote.
* 12U and 14U leagues: Injury rule replacement; if a player gets hurt and must leave the game and all the subs have been put into the game, you can replace injured player with anyone on the bench. All subs must be in the game for this to apply. Adopted by a 8-0 vote.
* Clarify a rule: the regular season roster is the tournament roster, you can bring up a player from a younger league only to add to the roster.
* Point of Emphasis: A pitch that goes in the dirt and (1)hits a batter, dead ball batter gets 1st. (2) hit by the batter, it is a live hit ball. (3) batter swings at 3rd strike, it is considered a dropped 3rd strike and batter can advance to 1st.
* No were no reports of any problems with any of the coaches this year.
* All the tournaments were run really well this year and only a few minor problems. There were many compliments in all the league tournaments. The 14U tournament the players were introduced in the last 4 or 5 games.

Fall League
* 14U:RV and Ridgedale have teams, Cardington and possibly Pleasant or Elgin will also have. If we get 4, we will play.
* 12U: RV, M. Catholic, Elgin, Ridgedale have teams. Cardington and Pleasant are possible. We will have a 12U league for sure.
* Phil will follow-up in the next few days to finalize teams and make schedules.
* Decided to play all 12U games at Prospect Park if Rick can get OK. Waldo Park is a back-up but will probably play 14U there.
* League play will start on September 10 and go through October 1st with the 8th for rain.
* Each team will play 2 different teams each Sunday and start at 1:30 or 2:00.
* 1 hour 15 minutes for each game, 15 minute break between games.
* Follow county rules plus Free substitution and Everyone bats
* Cost will be $5 but with both leagues, it might be $10.
* Certified Umpires for all games
* To help promote the league, we want to give all the kids, coaches and county reps. T-shirts after the last game. It will have a logo like: Marion County Softball, Fall League 2000.  Phil will check on getting shirts.

* Next meeting set for Monday February 12th, 2001 at RVMS cafeteria. 7:00pm
