Names above in bold attended the February 12th, 2001 county girls softball meeting at RVMS. We also had 2 guests from the city, Brian Hempstead and Rod Bosse.

* Reviewed minutes from the last meeting
* Reviewed the treasurers report. A New account was set-up in the fall at Fahey Bank. We have $224.80. They also charged us a $10 fee, Angela to check into this.

Old Business
* Rule changes for this season
* 8U league; 5 pitches, can be 5 strikes, either hit or sit down, no walks.
* 8u and 10U: line to be put at 80 ft and outfielders cannot be closer than that. This was experimented in the 8U tournament this year.
* 10U league: limit pitcher to 3 innings per game for season only. This is to help develop other pitchers.
* 10U league: pitching distance will be 35 instead of 30. This is to conform with ASA rules and for batter safety.
* 12U and 14U leagues: Injury rule replacement; if a player gets hurt and must leave the game and all the subs have been put into the game, you can replace injured player with anyone on the bench. All subs must be in the game for this to apply.
* Clarify a rule: the regular season roster is the tournament roster, you can bring up a player from a younger league only to add to the roster.
* Point of Emphasis: A pitch that goes in the dirt and (1)hits a batter, dead ball batter gets 1st. (2) hit by the batter, it is a live hit ball. (3) batter swings at 3rd strike, it is considered a dropped 3rd strike and batter can advance to 1st.
* Discussed the possibility of a fall league this year. Everyone was for it. We will discuss at a later meeting any changes and possibly adding a 10U league.

New Business
* Rules
* 8U league: overthrow at 1st limiting the runner to 2nd only, this was discussed at length and voted to go by book rule due to too many variables in adding this rule.
* 12U league: Phil brought up moving the pitching distance to 40. This was done in the ASA rules this year and will stay consistent. Bobby made a motion, Ralph 2nd, passed by 10-0 vote.
* John brought up playing with an EP in the 12U and 14U league. This will help to girls in the game when there are large teams. Using the EP is up to the coach. The EP is where you bat 10 girls and play 9 in the field, you can make defensive switches each inning but the batting order doesnt change. Bobby made a motion, Ralph 2nd, passed by a 10-0 vote.
* Brian Hempstead made a request to bring some teams out to play in our league due to some problems in the city. Discussed field availability for home games and if this was a travel team. Phil stated it wouldnt be right or do them any good to bring a travel team in because all the talent is split up on the county teams. Brian stated it wouldnt be the Rebels teams but they are also looking for girls for this team. Bill made a motion to let them play in the league, Ralph 2nd, passed by a 10-0 vote. Brian will get with Rod and give us an update for the next meeting on teams and fields.
* Umpires will be tough to get again on Mondays, 12U league probably wont get filled. Home coaches will be responsible to fill that will a responsible adult.
* All county reps stated that their sign-ups and coaches would be done by the end of March.
* Season will start May 21st and run through June 29th.
* Tournaments will be July 9th through July 15th. Sites will be as follows: 8U-Pleasant; 10U-TBA; 12U-Prospect??; 14U-River Valley??
* Next meeting will be Monday, April 2, 2001 @RVMS cafeteria, 7:00pm. Reps will need the following: (1). # of teams, (2). Coaches names, (3). Dues, (4). 10U fall interest
