Brothers Grimm pushed back... to August 26th according to the NEWLY RELEASED POSTER.EBay Auctions for Fringe Festival Show Some of the biggest names in British comedy, including Stephen Fry, Ricky Gervais, Simon Pegg, Martin Freeman and Dawn French, have donated rare items of memorabilia to raise money for a new stage play about Dudley Moores turbulent relationship with Peter Cook.
Stars of The Office Gervais, Freeman and Mackenzie Crook, as well comedians such as Shaun of the Dead star Simon Pegg, Dawn French, Jimmy Carr, Peep Shows Mitchell and Webb, actress Prunella Scales, One Foot in The Grave and Jonathan Creek creator David Renwick, Stephen Fry, Clive Anderson and comedy legends Jimmy Perry, David Croft and Ken Dodd have all given items to an auction which will raise money for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival run of Come Again The World of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, which tells the story of Pete and Duds comedy partnership from Moores point of view, at the Assembly Rooms this summer.
Come Again is written by Chris Bartlett and Nick Awde, directed by Izzy Mant and is the first theatre production from producers Weasel & Sons (Siobhan & Simon Rhodes-Johnson). The play takes a Dudleys eye view of the rise and fall of one of Britain's greatest and best-loved comedy partnerships, charting the diminutive geniuss tempestuous relationship with Cook, from Beyond the Fringe to beyond the pale, from Shepherd's Bush to the Hollywood Hills, via Dagenham gasworks.
The play explores how their partnership worked and evolved, why Dudley was often unfairly dismissed as the junior partner and Peter thought of as the comedy icon and how Dudley then managed to spread his wings to emerge as an internationally famous solo star out of the pair.
The producers will be auctioning the exclusive items, which include signed scripts, pictures, DVDs and CDs, on eBay to raise money for the play.
