More pictures of Stan Sowa and Gartersnake.
The boys were really having a good time and thought the garter was the most interesting snake-their leader, Kim Phillips, told me later-because the snake was gravid. I explained how I knew that and how they could tell, too.
Here's a list of the herps we found that day:

2-Black Rat Snakes
1-5-Lined Skink
1-Eastern Hognose
1-Eastern Gartersnake
1-Northern Copperhead (which unfortunatley the boys missed)

but we're planning another trip in August and hopefully they'll get to see one then.

We got started late and the it got very hot-making most of herps go into hiding from the midday sun.

We would also like to thank Mike Stevens and Doug Engle for stopping by our home in Jan 2000
and taping the first PA Outdoor Life that we were on.  I'm sorry I don't have any pictures from that.
I'll try to pull a clip or 2 from the video.
