| Often an artist is asked to write an "artist statement" or something when he shows his work in a gallery or some other type of forum. Basically, I would say that as of the publication of this site, I have given up "art." I figure I will still paint and stuff (as a matter of fact, I know I will,) but not under the assumption that it will ever matter to anyone but me. The fact is, I can't remember a single piece I've made, since I started caring, that I actually liked. It would be quite an ego boost to have a gallery show my work, perhaps, but if I wait for that to happen, I will be a sad, sad person for a long, long time. So, this site is dedicated to all my "bad art," but good ideas. The road from conception to completion seems to be an impossibly difficult distance to travel. The good thing, though, is that the destination in question can't be moved away from. As long as a person keeps moving, he continues getting closer. So that's me now. |
