| Grace and Peace to my beloved son Timothy, for God has not given us a spirit of timidity but of power, love, and discipline; now join with me in sufferin'. Now God has saved and been callin' us, not because of works but for His own purpose. Christ Jesus our Savior abolished death and brought life, which is why you seen me endure all this strife. Now guard that treasure that's been entrusted to you, & shout out to Onesiphorus for all the trouble he went through. Entrust what you have heard to faithful men; here's some illustrations...the Lord will give you understandin'. So you're startin' a church, here's some advice: flee youthful lusts and pursue a righteous life, avoid gossip & quarrels, be patient when wronged, gently correct so God can save them from Satan. Let me tell yat Tim, difficult times will arise, men will deny the very One who gives them life. They'll be reckless, treacherous, holding to their own godliness... denying its power...sniffing all their flowers.. unloving, unholy, haters of good.. <insert Yoda lingo>, "Avoid them you should!" All Scripture is the very breath of God, this is clear to see with your retinal rod... in case you didn't catch that, it's a part of your eye... come on Tim, you know I wouldn't lie! Preach the Word; be ready in season and out, whether sunny, cloudy, rainy, or drought. Some have ticklish ears & turn away from truth but fulfill your ministry despite your youth. I have fought the good fight, finished the race; & will recieve a crown for keeping the faith. Make every effort to come see me soon; Oh! and here's a list of some things to do: Bring Mark, some books...especially those parchments, and that Alexander...keep your eye out for him. The Lord was faithful when no one else was, & I'll join Him in His heavenly kingdom, cuz! So hopefully I'll see you soon, no doubt... Grace be with you my friend...peace out! -Paul To those of you wondering....this was from Doulos, the freshman bible study I took part in last year. It's an amazing ministry at A&M and really helped me grow in the Lord. Anyway, throughout the second semester we did an inductive bible study on II Timothy and our last lesson, we were supposed to make a creative synthesis of the book. Well here you go; yes...I made a rap of the book, but most people wanted it in hard copy so that's why it's up here. Enjoy! |
