Here is the Grand Canyon from the air plane. I didn't realize how close it was to Las Vegas. Vegas is a really dry place, probably because it's located near all that desert.
The ever so famous "Welcome to 'Fabulous' Las Vegas" sign.
Our first place to stop was my fourth Hard Rock Cafe. The casino was the first one I ever gambled in. Fun stuff!!!
Here is the picture of the hotel we stayed in....EXCALIBUR. It was really cool on the inside. Of course, most of that was the casino and they would have ripped my film out of my camera if I tried to take a picture of it. That would not have been a good thing. :)
The next day, we travelled to the Hilton hotel to take the "Star Trek Experience". What a ride!!!
Here is my new Ferangi (no clue how you spell that) friend, Groggle, that I met at "Quarks." He was funny...he said he liked my accent. I never knew I had an accent. :)
While visiting FAO Schwarz in Caesars Palace, we bumped into the Star Wars Cantina. They were playing their merry little tunes while we explored the huge Star Wars section of the store. I bet they're getting pretty good at playing that song. :)
Also in Caesars Palace, we saw the performance of some stone sculptures dressed up like gods. He looks real doesn't he? I swear he's made out of stone.
Watch Out!!! Volcano Erupting!!! This is the famous Volcano located outside the Mirage hotel on the strip. It went off every 15 minutes. It looked very realistic in person.
This was my favorite attraction to watch. These fountains would start "dancing" every hour in front of the Bellagio hotel. When I saw them, they danced to the song "All Night Long" by Lionel Richy. I loved watching them...what technology!
Oh, and we can not forget the famous "Doughnut"...consumed by Eric. Look at that thing? It's the size of that boys head!!!
Here is the gang on top of the Stratosphere. left to right: Andy, me, Steve, Shane, Eric, and Kathy.
One of the last things we did was visit the old part of Las Vegas and see the "Freemont Experience." It's a light show that extends for about 3-4 blocks. The show happens every hour after dusk. The casinos turn all their outside lights off so eveyone can enjoy the show. It is really something to see.
