AUSTRALIA

Australia was just amazing. If you ever get an oppurtunity to go, you will not regret it. The people there are very friendly. Sydney was a little too crowded for me, but overall, Australia is a neat place to visit. While there we visited Sydney, Canberra, and Cairns. It was a once in a life time oppurtunity.

Here is an awesome picture I took of Sydney from the airplane. If you look closely, you can see the opera house and the bridge right in the middle of it around the harbor.

As a tradition, I always take a water picture and I finally made it to the Pacific Ocean. I think the Pacific has the darkest color of blue water compared to the Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Carribean. The waves were very playful this morning.

The apartments (actually, all the buildings) in Sydney rest up against each other like this. These kind of apartments cost a lot to live in. I don't think I could stand having my neighbors live that close to me. You don't see much grass in Sydney, unless you are rich or live near a designated park.

Aaahh....the famous Sydney Opera House. Most people don't see it from this angle. This picture was taken from a cruise ship we were travelling on around the harbor. I thought the opera house only had three humps because I had always seen pictures of it from the side. You can see here that it actually has six humps. The left structure is the opera house and the right structure is used for music theatre.

Here I am actually touching the opera house. I had to do it. :) Pretty tall huh! :)

While in Sydney, a group of us had the oppurtunity to go to the zoo. While there, I got to see a kangaroo hop around. This one was nice enough to let me feed it a leaf.

Here is my koala bear. He was really shy, but he poked his little head out a bit so I could get this picture. He is so cute! :)

Our bus driver drove us around the olympic area on our way to Canberra. This is the Olympic 2000 stadium. Of course we couldn't go in it, but just to be this close was exciting.

Here is a picture of the Great Barrier Reef located near Cairns. This picture was taken in a semi-submersible boat. Our group got to snorkle while we were there. The sight was amazing.

Here is a group of us eating our last dinner in Australia. Farewell! left to right: Jonathan Wisner, Catherine Hammer, me, Trevor Hands, Bethany Hocking, and Jacinda Henry.
