George S. Heflybower, b.1850; Clarke Co. VA; d.1936; bd. Oakwood Cem., Travis Co. TX; m. Kate H. Brownley?, b.2/28/1859; d.6/19/1887; bd. Oakwood Cem., Travis Co. TX; Could George's middle name have been Sowers or Samuel? Information on this family was found on this cemetery database for Oakwood Cem. in Travis Co. Texas. The death date listed for Kate reads as 1987 which if it were true would have made her 128 years old and therefore a candidate for the World's Oldest Person as recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. The date entered here is the one I believe was meant to be entered as "1887". Also, according to the "Hoefelbauer" genealogy by Beth Hefelbower Seebach, George is listed as having "moved to Austin, TX" which makes me believe that this is the right family. Plus he was listed in this genealogy as having a daughter named "Mamie". I do not know if there are any modern day descendants of this branch of the family. If there were other children they could have been buried in another location. The ones buried in this family lot I don't believe ever married. If you are a descendant of George S. I would like to hear from you.
