Christian Education
Christian Education is growing at McKendree.  With children, youth and two adult classes currently in existance, we are prepared for growth.  Our Christian Education occurs primarily on Sunday's from 9:30-10:30 AM.  On months with a 5th Sunday, we have been joining together in the Fellowship Hall for a multi-generational lesson.  It has been enjoyable as our chilren, youth,
younger adults and senior adults all work together in the reading of scripture and a
project/activity that allows all ages to take part in a creative way - it's also a great way
for us to fellowship and get to know each other.
New Member Classes are offered throughout the year.  Our next New Member Class will be announced in the fall.
Please check back for our next class. Contact Pastor Michelle
via the church office at

Our Mini McKids (K-2) and Mighty McKids (3-5 gr,) currently meet together.  The children us a curriculum that coordinates to the lectionary so, what they are studying is usually what will occur in worship, as well.  Children age 4 through 5th grade have the opportunity to attend Children's Worship folloing children's time with the pastor during the worship service - this allows them to worship on their level.
The F. R. O. G. (Fully Rely On God) Class is a general Adult Class (any age).  Coffee is available as we begin with fellowship time and share with each other joys, concerbs, cares, praises, etc.  We begin with prayer and move into the lesson.  Examples of lesson curriculum are mini-series-type programs that are roughly 6-8 weeks  - many with DVD or VHS, Advent Studies, Lenten Studies, a book study, "The Beverly Hillbillies, and Faithlink - based upon current events, etc.  Bring your Bible to class (they are used) and sit back, listen and participate as you like - this is a pretty vocal group of people.  The class is led by facilitators.  For information call John or Laura Parker 413-5482 or Steve Louk via the church office at 853-0680.  See you soon!
The H.O.U.S.E (Helping Others to Understand Christ's Sacrifice for Everyone) is what our youth call their special hangout.  They study the Bibly in
a number of different ways...they choose topics, study the scripture through video/DVD lik the "I Love Lucy" video series, scriture comics, current events, etc.  For more information on the youth class (grades 6-12) contact Marcia Hanly via the church office at 853-0680.
The F.L.A.M.E. Class is the class of Senior Adults.  As they gather, they join in song prior to their lesson for the day.  If you thought this was a lecture-based class, think again.  Althought there may be times for that, the class also uses curriculum that is theme-based and may have either DVD/VHS - the class members provide feedback.  For more information on the F. L. A. M. E. class, contact Jan Long at 451-1696.
Childcare is available for children infants to 4 years old.  We have trained childcare providers - children hear Christian songs, are read stories, and have play time, too.Childcare is available
